I was watching "Snakes on a plane" tonight (on cable TV) and I had to leave in the middle of it. WHY? Because I hate suspence. I rent movies then I fast forward through them to see whats going to happen. THEN: I will watch the movie. I like to be told what is gonna happen next so I am prepared. I have not met one other person in this world who is like me. Do you like suspense?? Yes, I have been told all of the same old lines. "It will ruin the movie" blah blah blah. Not for me it makes it enjoyable. And YES, I also read the last page of a book so I know the ending.
Is there anyone out there like me?? Or does everyone else like suspence??

You are one of a kind. So what? To each his own is what I say. The world wouldn't be interesting if we all did the same thing, right? lol Well, I don't like snakes and wouldn't watch it for any amount of money or prizes and no I don't fast forward and then watch the movie. I watch it from the beginning to the end so I guess I'm a suspense liker. So do what YOU like not what everybody else likes. [CatsandDogs]
heheh thanks, I always do what I want. But I do know that every person I talk too thinks I am strange. lol Thanks for not being like them. I accept being one of a kind. [mssnow]
Yep,i know what you mean!I use to read books and became bored and skipped to the last 2 pages to at least find out the ending. As for movies i skipp each scene to see a little bit of it.Im just seeing if its well worth the long sit down to watch. If its not i wont watch it at all.Id rather be doing something else instead of wasting my time on a stupid/boring movie! [peanutjar]
I have done that too, not be cause I think the movie is boring just because there are parts that I really dont care for. [mssnow]
I learned recently that my friend's mom does this exact same thing. She reads the last page of a book before she starts it, and she is also always asking questions during TV shows or movies to know what's going to happen. For me though, this drives me CRAZY. I absolutely hate having the ending to something ruined for me. Reading the last Harry Potter book around my friends who kept leaking information about what was coming was extremely nerve-wracking. I definitely need to see the story unfold in order to enjoy the movie/book. If someone spoiled the last scene of an exciting movie for me (especially something I had been looking forward to) I think I would slap him! [Candid_Ishida]
Well, I am glad others do that too. I don't feel so all alone now lol Thanks [mssnow]
Hi Princess, you are unique for sure and that's a good thing! It sounds like you don't like surprises and maybe shows with certain endings, like no sad endings! I have looked ahead on movies and some books, but that was because i was impatient! Also some shows and books get boring so lets fast forward and see the ending! I haven't met anyone like you to this day! Take care Princess! :) [budsr03]
Hi handsome, Oh yes I love surprises if its something for me. :) But I do not like suspense. Just not knowing for sure bugs me. You are not likey to ever meet anyone like me Bud, I'm special lol [mssnow]
i do i do i do, too. i don't like mundane parts, boring parts, scaring parts, so i fast forward them all. sometimes, i rewind and watch my favorite parts over and over again. i'm not the type of person who just sits and watch the whole movies. [abbamoney]
Thanks, I am glad others do this too [mssnow]
i have suspence aswell!!!! i always hate not knowing whats going to happen lol , i dont really watch many movies as a by product of this i think . [tempokate]
Well some movies are fine. I love romantic comedies and can sit and watch these through. But the ones that cause a person to jump out of their seat. Those I cant watch. [mssnow]
well then you happen to be an exception.fast forwarding a suspense thriller negates the basic purpose of the thriller i.e. THRILL. would you be thrilled if you know beforehand that the weird voice coming out of the closet is not of a ghost but of a cat????? or that the killer happens to be none other than the cute innocent grand pa???? so try watching god thriller movies.the one which make you to sit down and bite your nails without givin you time to fast forward. [epsilonhawk]
I dont like thrill. I dont ride thrill rides and I am always trying to be safe. So No thanks on sitting and watching it. lol [mssnow]
Hehehe.. I do that too, but not on books. Sometimes I walk out in the middle of movies when I'm at home, or I switch channels. [jungle_girl]
I have been known to switch channels or even turn the sound off. lol [mssnow]
Generally I only fast forward a movie when I want to find out what happens in it because it's boring and I just want it over with while still knowing how it turned out. And if I suspect a book may not end the way that I want, I will read the last few pages and if I like the ending, I may read the whole book. Sometimes while reading a book, I will skip pages to hurry through it but again, that's because the book is boring and I just want to know how it all turned out [in case I didn't already know]. [horsesrule]
I have been known to do the same thing with books because they are boring. [mssnow]
Hi Snow! Your back! I have missed you! Haven't seen you around here in quite a while! Honestly hun, I love suspense. I would hate to fast forward or read the last page in a book because then to me it would ruin it. You certainly are on of a kind hun! Is great to see you! Love & Hugzz. [PurpleTeddyBear]
I am glad to hear that you are back my dear! You were greatly missed. xxx [PurpleTeddyBear]
I don't normally fastforward through movies.I either see it through to the end and if it is boring then I just switch of the TV/CD. But when it comes to books it is a differnt story.I must confess there are occasions when I read the last page of a book first.I do this for two reasons only: --it is either because I am impatient and cannot stand the suspense --or it may be because I find the book boring and want to find out if it is worth reading till the end. [mithrarao]
Yeah boring books are very hard to read [mssnow]
Well, I must say that is a weird way to watch movies, but then we all have our quirks and we're all weird in our own ways. I must admit I like to watch complete movies without fast forwarding, but I confess I have done it in the past, but only because the movie was real crap and totally C-grade, now since I had paid to rent it, I just didn't wanna not watch it, so instead I watched it by fast forwarding. At least that made sense then. If it's a good movie then I like to really watch it with concentration and I wouldn't fast forward that at all. [vega83]
Ha ha, sure, of course you "need to know". With my friends it's the opposite, usually when I've seen some movie, I tell them the climax or the ending and they get so annoyed with me, so I slip it in at a time when they're not covering their ears, ha ha. [vega83]
Many boring movies are being finished watched by me in ten minutes by fast forwarding. [balasri]
Me,I like fast forward a movie.I prefer to watch the beginning and the ending firstly and finally watch the middle part.Maybe I'm weird but if the ending is not interesting,I won't watch the middle part.I hope to see a surprised ending but not a cliche at last. [shinjiao]
I like to guess about the endings sometimes and 90 percent of the time I am right. Takes a very clever writer to fool me [mssnow]
no i never fast forward movies as i like suspence as this is mainly the most exciting part of the movie [lols189]
I just cant stand not knowing. Thanks [mssnow]
Yeah, even i feel that fast forwarding movies will ruin the feel of it. But people make horrible movies now a days that we really cannot bear watching. May be in that cases, you can fast forward and complete a movie to say "At last, this crap is over". [surajpkn]
Yeah, now I can see that! That would be the only way I would fast forward through a movie. I just don't like to ruin it for myself and I sure as heck don't want someone else ruining it for me. [OreoCookie3]
I do not fast forward, but I do often leave my seat and go to the kitchen to get something to drrink, go to the bathroom, etc. Just like you I often need to get away form the tense bits. I listen to it so I still get the jist of the story, but I mostly can not watch. [keda69]
I do not fast forward through movies, but I have been know to read the last page of a book before. But I can tell you this, by fast forwarding through Snakes on a Plane, you were not missing much! ACtually, you were probably doing yourself a favor! [Geminigirl]
No...no,no..no and NO Mssnow! I love your name here... One of my best friends is known as your name. everyone calls her by that name. I don't like being told how the movie will end. I don't like someone telling me what is going to happen in anything..not my favorite soap, and not the movie. For me, there is no sense in watching when I already know the storyline. [OreoCookie3]
Okay Snow.. I will call you that from now on. Have a good day. [OreoCookie3]
mssnow I would like to say I am like you. Alas, I am not, for if I dared to touch the remote control in this here house, well, the consequences would be fatal! My spouse is in full control of the remote for movies and all. But, there are many times when I would like to fast forward through all the TV all the day and night long, as I find it impossibly intolerable at times. Of course, I'm sure there are things that I do that are the same way for my spouse. Anyway, good luck to you in finding someone that can't stand suspense. I'm sure there are others. Thank you for posting this question. [TheHairDresser]
Hi Princess, there are some movies that if I knew the ending, I would never watch them. Alot of those made for tv movies I can tell you whose going to fall in love and whose going to die after the first half hour. For me I think it would ruin the movie to know the ending because you miss the story. I guess I can assume that the princess dosnt have alot of patience either. All my best, Terry [twils2]
I have patience when I am teaching someone something. I have patience with children. I just cant stand suspense. I have to know what will happen or it drives me crazy. How are you Terry? [mssnow]
That's really weird but I know some people are like that. At home we like watching suspense and thriller movies but never fast forward them. We just watch and let the events uncoil before our very eyes but when there are scenes that are too gory, we just cover our eyes.lol [funny52f]
I'm afraid I couldn't do that. I like the suspense and seeing the story unfold. I have never known anyone who does this either, but I have had several friends who turn and read the last page of a book. I guess you just like to see the end, then read to see the steps in getting there! To each their own! [crazynurse]
Well you were watching Snakes on a Plane. So of course you are gonna fast forward the plot barely matters anyways ;) And on occasion I do fast forward it if things are going to slow. [theprogamer]
I love suspense movies but when someone tells me the end it doesn't bother me at all as like you I don't find it ruins a movie for me . In a suspence movie I would not fast forward the movie but have seen myself doing this in horror movies if I am alone because even though I want to see the movie , I don't want to be scared half to death and not be able to sleep at night lol . [samtaylorskykierajen]
If i lik ethe movie, I will see it completely, else i will fast forward. [beekay]
No, you are not. I have cable as well and there are some films on cable that are just not worth watching. Although, whenever Star Wars and Star Trek come on, I keep it on that channel. [rogue13xmen13]
No, I have never heard of anyone else doing this for movies! How funny. It would drive me crazy to know what was going to happen next. I do know people who read the last page of a book. To me that is like cheating, but they say it makes reading the story more enjoyable. Do what makes you happy, I say. yaya [acuityplague]
I often times read the last few pages of a book- to find out what happens- But I never fast forward a movie to get to the ending- That would be a waste of money and time to me. I love suspense like that- but reading books is different- I will go back and read the whole book- but sometimes I just want to be sure that boy and girl fall in love and live happily ever after! [KrisNY]
I sometimes do fast forward the tape if its boring. I do like suspense and can't wait to see what happens next but I do sometimes fast foward or leave it as it is. [aprilgrl]
No, I don't fast forward...but I love watching movies again rather than a new movie. I used to read the ending to books but now I don't, only sometimes the last bit but not who ends up with who. I reckon you know what I mean ...lol. [MsTickle]
No, but sometimes I turn the volume down and make up my own dialogue, turns a boring film into a comedy all the best urban [urbandekay]
I don't fast forward past the suspenseful parts but I do fast forward past parts that are boring to me, rocky training to music, or anyone training, fight scenes that are way to long, scenes that go on an on are just set to music to show how past events. I can see them fine in fast forward. [artemis432]
Wow princess I could never do that! I like the build up to the ending, I hate knowing what is going to happen. If I haven't seen a film I can't bear anyone telling me what's going to happen, the ending or any reviews which may give away clues! I enjoyed snakes on a plane and I never fast forwarded it ONCE. If I don't like a film I will turn it off, even with books I know a lot of people who do read the last page but that is sacriledge LOL! [wolfie34]
