Every now and then a horror movie will freak me out. But it isn't the gory ones that bother me its the psychological ones that get me. Just cause in all reality what if their is a ghost or demon and you don't realize it till your possesed or dead. Uh Uh Hecks no. I am out the first time some weird stuff pops off. LOL [mrsfrodotata]
I love horror movies and its really freak me out but it never affected me. You know its only in our mind if you want to affect yourself from that.. [ozzeth]
Well in my childhood I use to scare a lot after watching the horror movies. I could not sleep without letting the light switch off in whole night. I even scared to go to bathroom in the night for that I have wait till morning. [vikrantkarning]
Sometimes I like watching horror movies. Perhaps it will affect me a little for a short time, but it won't last long. Soon I will forget about the horror. Perhaps I like to challenge myself. I love China [youless]
Absolutely! I'd be terrified even before the movie starts! At home, I'd never watch a horror movie with the lights off. I definitely need the lights to be switched on. The dark would frighten me. And then I find that I'd get startled over the smallest things, like the ruffle of the wind can really make me jump during the movie and for hours after that. And of course, I won't be able to get any sleep on the night of watching such movies too. I'd spend all night peeking out from under the blanket to make sure no monsters pop out of nowhere. [velvetprinzess]
i am afraid watching horror movies at home because i live alone in my apartment and it seems somebody watched me time when i'm on bed. [julyteen]
I am not really affected by horror movies. I am just the person who is not easily freaked out by horror flicks. I mean, if I am given the choice of watching horror movies alone in a dark place forever or being in a well lit room for a minute with michael jackson then I'd rather be in the dark room and watch horror films forever. That would be more humane and less scary. [gcrew931]
yeah. kinda embarrassing really. first time i saw the ring (original version). i took the 21 inch TV out of my room. imagine a fragile college freshman moving that kind of weight because of a a horror movie. and oh, i did not sleep alone in my room. i always ask my younger sister to sleep on the upper bunk. (we have double-decked bed.) it took me a week or so to get over that image of sadako---gives me the creeps---well, not anymore:D [meiji15]
I do get affected if its about ghosts and the dead people coming alive at night. Even during my teens, i get nightmares after watching horror movie. But strangely, I still love to watch them. Now, I haven't watch any horror movie that really scared me. I guess, I am getting more difficult to please as far as horror is concerned. The one that scared me before was the 'ring' and that was the last time that I got myself scared. [cdparazo]
Somehow, yes. I don't really watch horror or spooky movies but my boyfriend was watching Resident Evil last night with a living dead that looked really disgusting. When I went to use the loo it was dark in the corridor and I was a little apprehensive I would see the ugly figure in the dark LOL! [Jemina]
LOL if horror movies scare them THAT much, why do they watch them?? I LOVE horror movies but they dont scare me..they did when I was a kid of course but that was long ago..I generally find horror movies highly amusing actually LOL [Ravenladyj]
Sometimes, it does affect me. Especially if the movie was quite intense. Fortunately, I've "graduated" from being scared of zombie movies. When I was a teenager, after watching one, I usually had nightmares about it. Zombies coming to our neighborhood and invading our house. Trying to grab me and have me for a midnight snack! There was one particular movie, "The Ring" the Japanese version that had so much effect on me. After watching it, I had a few restless nights. I was so scared that the ghost will come crawling out of our TV and look at me with her creepy eye! [jcj_111776]
Lols not at all infact i enjoy them specially in the night . i think all of them are really funny [NikSaluja]
I am affected by some of them. It all goes through their superb special effects where ghosts and other monsters seem very real. Also, the actors and the overall impact of the scene would contribute much. I like horror movies though. It excites me in a different way. [nengs10]
Yes, i am almost always affected by the horroe movies i watch, i mean the really scary ones.. like "the Eye", "Shutter". After watching these movies, i kept imagining things, and even when i close my eyes to sleep, i can still see images of these. [chiyosan]
I used to be affected by horror movies when I was younger. I get scared even going to the bathroom. I always asked someone to accompany me. And worse, I dare not sleep alone. But now, I am no longer affected by it. [ellie26]
I always get scarred when I watch scary movies. Somethimes I have nightmares afterwards, but I'm always scarred to be alone right after I watch the movie. XD [megumiart]
I have seen my share of scary movies and although they have scared the day lights out of me while watching them I can honestly say that I am not affected by them. [YorkieBear]
I don't watch horror films because after I see them, I don't get a decent night's sleep for a week after.I have to sleep with the lights on. [sarahruthbeth22]
I like some of the horror movie, one i like as a teenager was evil dead (o'boy gore) cult classic. But one i seen last year was the original grudge, the japanese film, really well made horror movie not so gorey but it was the eyes on the security camera and the odd cat noises with the kid. Really scary stuff i was afaid of cats for a week lol [arn13n]
i also like horror movies a lot. that thrilling atmosphere and that sounds make me excited more. but i do have a problem with movies these days, all the horror movies are turning to be cannibal movies, which i dont like. directors are showing a lot of gross scenes in these movies. those who watched wrong turn 2 - dead end will get to know what i mean. but i like thriller movies like final destination series. [vinubaby123]
nope, never but maybe for the kids yes, specially who stay in province like my days before he he he , i can watch but hmmmmmmmmmmmmm grrrrrrrrrrrr it will be different to the movies when im child. [Ohara_1983]
I like horror movies and they dont bother me at all. Once the movie is over that's it I don't think too much about it with one BIG exception. The Exorcist that movie scared me poopless as Linda Blair who played the unfortunate possessed little girl looked just like my daughter and was the same age. Even now after all these years it still scares me!! [whiteheather39]
When I was a kid I remember, I was really affected by horror movies, I dont know why I wanted to watch this kind of movie just to discover myself covering my face while inside the moviehouse, hehe. When I grow up, its one of my favorite movies, horror, suspense and the like. This time I am fond of watching Supernatural every night. I really enjoyed it. [longbangod]
i would say im quite affected. im the first person to scream when we watch horror movies. but its not effective to me when we watch it on day time. but if we watch it before we sleep at times i got scared, i put the light on til morning..lolz.. [chechuva]
It all depends on the type of horror movie i watch; if it's like Friday the 13th, or Halloween, where it's a crazy killer, then i don't get scared.. i jump all throughout the movie, but don't get scared much and after its over, i've already forgotten about it...that being said, if i watch a spirits/ghosts, exorcism, devil stuff movie, then i remain afraid all throughout the night and have a hard time falling asleep (if i've watched it in the evening) movies like The Exorcist, or The exorcism of Emily Rose...those scare me to bits! [jewel76]
I love a good horror movie. There are not many of them out there anymore. I liked the old Vincent Price, Bela Logosi ones which are now a little cheezy. Some of Stephen King's books have been made into good horrow movies. But the books were better. I thought "The Ring" was good but the movie that got me in the theater was "Jaws" and it was not even a horror movie and now it doesn't even rate a yawn. I feel that a lot of today's horror movies rely on blood and gore rather than the illusion which makes us think more. [jillmalitz]
i love watching horror movies. no, i m not affected by these movies. once in a while, i'll encounter a horro movie that will freak me out but once i leave the cinema, i can easily brush aside what i've just watched. [allen0187]
I don't like horror movies i am into action but my daughter does like it.She feel scared while watching it but it thrills her, lol! [giePortlandOR_08]
I do not like horror movies when I am going to bed. Not matter what movie it is, I will dream about it, and if the movie is a horror movie, well if I dreamt about Battlestar Galactica or meeting Ema from Sense and Sensibility, I would certainly have nightmares about Michael Myers, if I watched Halloween just before I went to sleep. So I have to watch horror movies in the daytime, when I can think about something else and not just before I go to bed. [suspenseful]
Well, good question.I don't have any personal bad experience watching a horror but my sister in law does. She would watch the movie with full of interest and later on she would be afraid to go to her room to sleep. She needs somebody to walk her to her bedroom(obviously would be my brother). But the confusing part is,she does not give up watching. If there's anything horror, she would love to watch it.In my place, every Wednesday night they would show Discovery called "The Haunting".She watches every week without a miss and as usual somebody has to walk her to the bedroom after the show.Funny isn't it? [farmaz]
well im too were very much affected if i seen one..that was when im still a single and young but when i turned into a matured woman and understand life's more meaning...it doesnt affect me anymore..especially if it was locally made .. [vanities]
I don't usually watch horror movies because I easily get scared, so scared that many times I couldn't sleep at night, thinking and feeling that the monsters or ghosts I saw are just around me, waiting for a moment to attack and scare me. I can even visualize them in my mind, every scary part, especially the eyes. My latest experience happened after I watched the Hollywood version of "The Ring" along with two of my friends. I have a television set in my bedroom. The first night after we watched it I couldn't sleep, for I feel that Samara will come out of the tv and kill me. This went on for a week, and there's one time that I got scared when the phone rang. >_< [enirahtak]
I would love to be otherwise, but yes, I'm most definitely affected by horror movies. I guess my situation is kind of unique (or perhaps there are other people out there like me, no doubt) because I'm never scared while I watch the movie. I actually really enjoy watching horror movies. It takes a while for me to get freaked out or grossed out by what I see on the screen (and also because I know it's all fake). However, the more real-life everything is, the more it scares me later on! Ok, so like I said, I'm ok while watching the movie. However, as soon as I'm by myself or all by myself and it's dark out, that's when I start to flip out! (LOL) What scares me the most is that my imagination starts to wander. Have you ever experienced this? My imagination will put freaky characters from the movie in places such as under my bed, behind the shower curtain (just waiting for me to pull it back!), and in the basement. Ahhh!! This scares me more than anything that nothing is there. Really, I know nothing is there...but my imagination makes it seem so real that it makes it seem as if it really is there. I have to snap myself out of it and thoroughly convince myself that there's nothing there before I'll trust myself. (You probably think I'm crazy by now!) Seriously, though, have you ever felt the same way? As long as there's someone around that I can talk to or grab onto (LOL), then I'm just fine after a scary movie. Great discussion! I hope you don't think I'm crazy now, though. Ha, ha. [JJ4Ever]
Slimer from the Ghostbusters movie still scares me [musicdoG]
Most of the time I am completely unaffected by horror movies. There are those occasions where something I have seen troubles me and things like going upstairs or a noise outside the window bring an irrational fear that's not so easy to get rid of. I used to have nightmares when I was much younger after seeing some horror films. I admit now and again vampires, zombies or monsters still chase me in my dreams which is always tiring and terrifying. I've only been caught once by any of them, but they actually turned out to be rather friendly, which was most surprising. [yorkshirewriter]
of course, you can tell if a horror movie was well-done if you are "affected" by it, meaning you get scared and paranoid that some creepy creature might show up in front of you after watching it. otherwise, if you didnt get scared at all, i guess it was a lousy horror movie. [dierdre]
Hi There. If the movie is really scary, I have this tendency of not forgetting it for a day. It will kinda freak me out. Yes, especially when it is night or when I am in suburb area like provinces... I usually scare myself by remembering the horror movies that I have seen.. lolz [jesbellaine]
I just love horror movies and I usually don't get freaked out easily. Funny enough, the one movie that freaked me out completely wasn't even that scary. I was at home by myself one night and I had borrowed Stigmata from my sister-in-law. I watched it and couldn't go to sleep for hours!!! Completely freaked me out!!! [miller23231]
Most of the time horror movies never really scared me. I was usually more excited than anything from watching them. Some of the times they would be funny. If you have a horror movie with some sex and comedy its even better. [elmiko]
I will be affected by that kind of movies, especailly seeing them in the evening. After seeing them, I will think over them again and again. If I see them in the evening, I can not fall sleep easily at that night. while some one call me, I will feel terrible when i hear the ring bell. So I think i am not suitable for them. [nini168]
I have to admit that even if I am a young adult now, a horror movie always scares me to death. I remember a time when I watched Gothika. I think Halle Berry was one of the stars in that movie. I watched it with my friends inside the moviehouse and nobody wanted to seat next to the isle. I would hug my friend and cover my eyes during the scary part. I would even scream and the other people in the moviehouse would complain. At night, after watching the movie I cannot sleep in my own room with the lights off. I would sneak inside my parents room and sleep on the sofa next to their bed. [drumbum04]
it is nonsense.[eople must have presence of mind and maturity. [tomkite]
it depends on the horror movie that i watched. but it would only just take me some minutes when i get affected [rhane7315]
Yes I'm effected by horror movies because there is always a time I have to hit the pause button to go to get a drink or go to the bathroom and the hallway is dark and when I walk down it it scares me then I turn on the light will always look behind the door and shower curtain. I'll hear the strange noises and not move a muscle to see what it is when most of the time it's just the cat lol. How horror movies play tricks w/ our minds. [Remembering1996]
I love watching horror movies. Same thing is true for thriller and suspense films! They do not really affect me in anyway. I can still sleep with the lights off. I can still go out of the house at night or I can still stay out late. I can still go out of my room at night even with all the lights off. [dolce_vita78]
no..not really am not at all affected by those horror movies..its gud to be watching horror films.they shud be forgotton the moment its over.. so am not so much affected by them as it doesn take a long tym to forget the unreal things..so need not be afected [pralav]
i love horror movies specially evil dead and night of the living dead.sometimes i got affected with the movie and i can still see it in my dreams but i'm still watching it and no one's gonna stop me... heheheh :) [panther04]
No. I am not affected by Horror Movies. Maybe because I don't watch them often. But if I do watch one, after the movie, everything is back to normal. I don't even dream about it like other people do. [ruthinian]
hi julyteen! happy i love watching horror movies! i prefer watching it at night where i can really feel the fright. wink but i don't get affected with it. i don't let myself get affected with it. after watching the movie, i would try to forget it. the more i think about it, the more it would start to affect me. but so far, there had only been a very few instances when i was affected by a movie i saw. i got paranoid but later on i thought i was being stupid so i stopped thinking about it. but most of the times i won't get affected by it. its just a movie. there was one time though which really scared me. there was this movie i have watched a few years ago and dreamed about it a few years later. if you have heard about the Ring, that's the movie i'm talking about. i dreamt of Sadako looking at me from outside a window and she started reaching for me. scared the wits out of me. doh but it was really out of the blue because i wasn't thinking about sadako nor the movie. it just came out of my dream. [secretbear]
i only watched horror movies during daytime, i am afraid of the dark. lol [julyteen]
I am really not affected by horror movies at all. I just see them for what they are; fictitious things that happen ON TV. Of course right now I don't have a television (trying to save money) so I guess I can't see them at all. LOL [danishcanadian]
Yes. Some of the scary movies affect me. I have a hard time sleeping after watching some of them. I have always been scared to go outside of the house at night time, even before watching scary movies. It is just not safe these days anyway. [stephcjh]
