Are You Watching Holiday Movies Now

Which holiday movies are you sure to watch this season? Which have you seen already this season? We just went out and bought the first 2 Home Alone movies because the rental store was out of them. We watched one over the weekend, but have not watched the second yet. Friday the school is putting on a movie night and showing the Polar Express. I'll be taking the kids. Santa will be there as well handing out gifts, I wonder what they will be. We'll probably also watch the Grinch, both the cartoon and the live action versions. Hubby and I usually watch the Adam Sandler movie 8 Crazy Nights every year too.

My daughter and I enjoy spending the weekends watching the holiday movies on Family Channel and Lifetime. Last weekend we watched Home Alone 3 and 4. I didn't even realize they had that many. We also taped Dennis The Menace Christmas and will probably watch that one next weekend. I love watching holiday movies this time of year:) [sunshine4]
Oh you know, I may have heard about it, or seen part of it or something, I just can't remember that well. I'll have to look into renting it or something. [katsmeow1213]

Ive started to enjoy a few of the holiday movies with my brother and stuff. Christmas is an odd time of the year as i find myself enjoying movies that i would never think to watch until christmas comes along. [carlingtop08]

Hi, katsmeow. I just watched the Grinch last night. It was fun. I have to watch "It's a Wonderful Life" several times this time of year. It is one of those movies that never seems to get old. My husband adores "The Christmas Story" (1983) so we watch that several times each year too. Actually, you can pretty much say that I never miss an opportunity to watch a Christmas movie once December rolls around. [makingpots]
Thanks for the best response, kats. [makingpots]

I watched Santa Claus 2 with Tim Allen with my son the other night and last night after my son went to bed the baby and I sat down and watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey. [lilybug]
I like the Santa Claus movies too. We saw the first on TV while hubby was out buying the Home Alone movies, then we started to watch the 2nd, but turned it off for Home Alone. We may end up buying all 3. [katsmeow1213]

We've watched bits and pieces of what has been playing on tv so far. We watched the end of polar express the other night. The girls watched the Shrek Christmas special and most of the grinch cartoon movie last night. We'll probably watch a lot of movies. Abc family is doing the 25 days of christmas. Tomorrow night Cars is on at 6 and 8:30. [ravinskye]

Not at the mo, but I'm sure as soon as the christmas box comes out on thursday when we shall put the tree up etc they will want the films on. We only have cartoon ones that they like to watch, like Beauty and The Beast christmas one [Anne18]

The other night my daughter and I watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the newest version with Jim Carrey). Usually around the holidays we always watch the Charlie Brown Christmas Special as well as A Christmas Story. [sourxgirl]

I will probably watch the Santa Clause I,II, and III (I own all of them). I will probably also watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey. I also really love the movie Love Actually which isn't really a Christmas movie, but it's centered around the holidays. I would also like to suggest The Family Stone (Diane Keaton, Sarah Jessica Parker), it's a really good comedy with a lot of big names that I really enjoy and centers around everyone coming home for Christmas. [BriMarie]
Yes, The Holiday is centered around Christmas. We own this one, and it's a favourite for myself and my daughter. [someonesmom]

We started watching last night. The 1st one we watched was Shrek the Halls. My daughter really likes it. It came out last year. I wasn't impressed, but the kids liked it. Then we watched the Dr Seuss classic the Grinch with Boris Karloff narrating. Even my hubby came in the room for that one. [ersmommy1]

im noy known to watch a movie twice..but this is an exception....that new movie "this christmas" with chris brown in it...i will be watching that tonight for the 2nd time.it was such a great movie. [chantalgiardina]
Yeah, that movie was off the chain. I liked it too the first time I saw it. Haven't seen it in a while but it was a trip. [afdinki]

I already watched Shrek Christmas and the Grinch who Stole Christmas in Channel 11 last night. I will let my students watch a lot of Christmas Movies. [katrhina23]

I personally dont like christmas movies, although I absolutely love the holiday. But when it comes down to it, I love halloween movies. Now those are my absolute favourite. [YoungInLove]

Yes i have see the polar express with my nephews.... maybe today we can see more movies!! have a nice day and hope you will have a very good week ;) see you soon and bye bye. [theembittered]

Home Alone movies are classics. My family loves those. We have both of them. We will definitely watch Christmas Vacation and the Grinch cartoon too. I miss those old time Christmas classics like Charlie Brown and Frosty. I think my favorite was Rudolph, narrated by Burl Ives. I guess I'm really showing my age now lol [redkathy]
I agree they should do some re-makes. I'd be glued to the TV for a new animated Rudolf movie LOL [redkathy]

Every year since it came out, I watch Elf around the holidays! Its one of my favorite movies of all time. It always makes me laugh and puts me in such a good holiday mood! I also really like How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I really want to see 8 Crazy Nights and Polar Express. [athena2008]

I've been watching all the seasonal movies on the Hallmark Channel on television. We will probably watch the Grinch again sometime during the season. My daughter's kids have that movie. I have a Christmas movie with Tim Allen, The Santa Clause. I tried to get the kids to watch it Thanksgiving, but they had other things to do. I love that movie! Some of the movies I've seen this season I've seen before, but the good ones never lose their appeal to me. [Barb42]
I like the Santa Claus movies. Some of them never get old, and this time a year all you can find on TV is holiday movies! I love it. It helps get in the spirit. [katsmeow1213]

Oh, Home Alone is a classic. I would always enjoy watching it. I love to watch Love Actually. Sometimes, I also put on the first Bridget Jones. And I know it's not a movie but I always make a point to watch BBC's The Office Christmas Special. [SaintAnne]

I've watched all the holiday specials thats come on tv so far with my 6 year old son. Friday on abc the Grinch with jim carrey is supposed to come on. He's looking forward to that. There was some kind of santa movie on tonight that he was going to watch but he went to his g'ma's house & forgot about it lol. [halynn]

My family has watched the movies that have been on TV. Charlie Brown's Christmas, a few lifetime movies and we own The Family Man. I love this time of year. It give hope when there would otherwise be none. I will be watching all the classics and maybe some others as well. My husband thinks I'm crazy for it, but I could sit in from of the TV all day watching Chrustmas movies. [teeaye98]

My husband put on How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the cartoon version while we put up our Christmas tree this weekend. The only other holiday movie that I know we will watch without a doubt is Miracle on 34th Street. That is my all-time favorite Christmas movie (the old version). [moneyandgc]

i have the movie named "THE HOLIDAY" i am going to watch that movie this season. It casts cameron diaz, drew and jude.. its a nice movie, a real holiday mood will be created... do watch it... [nomoso]

I haven't started yet. Though I will probably start watching soon, once I go back home, after my last exam this week. First things first. [dodo19]

I babysit a seven year old girl, and she loves the Santa Clause, as do I. We've already watched it a couple of times. She's also watched Jingle All The Way here, which I don't care for as much. I love Elf too, although we don't own it, but would like to. My daughter and I love The Holiday. Then there are the classics, such as A Christmas Carol (Scrooge.) I love the old Allistair Sim Version, but we also enjoy A Muppets Christmas Carol. We also have some tv Christmas movies we catch each year. Borrowed Hearts is a really good one, I think. There's another called The Second Day Of Christmas, as well. Happy movie viewing to you, and I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas, and a happy New Year. [someonesmom]

I'm a huge fan of serials like The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Seinfeld, Friends etc. So I don't watch holiday movies. I probably saw them all, when I was a little girl. Televisions used to air the same holiday movies each year and I'm fed up with it :) [lilisor]

no im too busy enjoying surfing mylot.com (^,~) [SweetKim01]

my son and i love the grinch who stole christmas (the cartoon not the one with jim carrey), rudolph the red nosed reindeer and some others that i cannot think of right now. i always loved the little drummer boy too. christmas specials when we were kids was such a big deal. now you can get things on dvd, vhs or blue ray and watch them anytime of the year. [mikeysmom]

I love watching Christmas and holiday movies between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It drives my son nuts. I am a big fan of the made for tv movies on Lifetime and Hallmark channels. Of course I have to see my old favorites too. Miracle on 34th Street, It's a Wonderful Life, Scrooge (the musical version with Albert Finney), It's a Wonderful Life, and yes even Polar Express!!! I just love holiday movies!!! [quinnkl]
I'm with you. There are some Lifetime movies that are great. I had to go searching around this morning just to come up with some of the titles. The one I really like is "Borrowed Hearts" it has Roma Downy, where she's a single mother who agrees to move in with her boss for a week because he told some business partners that he was married and had a child. It's really cute. Another one that I like is the movie "A Christmas List". I don't know if it will be on this season or not, but it's about a woman who puts her Christmas wishlist in Santa's mailbox at the department store and everything comess true. It's really cute. If you can find it, I definitely recommend it! [BriMarie]

I bought my 2 year old a Christmas movie and we watch it like every day. It's getting kind of old and I was yearning for some more adult type movies. After she went to bed the other night I found "The Holiday" with Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet. It was a really good movie. I am probably going to have to buy it now. hopefully Target has it for like 9.44!! LOL. I like that 8 Crazy Nights too. I'm sure we'll be watching that one too. [angelface23]

ya, i enjoy watching japanese cartoon [sarawaken]

i have watched a lot of movies these holidays. mostly cartoon cause all of them are funny and the more silly they are the more i like to watch them. i really like scary movie. it's so stupid.that's why.and other movies like ice age and shrek. they are just astonishing with their graphics. [lafouine78]

I haven't start watching holiday movies yet, haven't even started shopping for presents yet. Really don't know when I'm going to start but it's probably not that soon. I really don't usually start getting into the holiday spirit until like a week before Christmas. Until then, I'm usually all business [afdinki]

Hey katsmeow, I am an old softy for the classics. I love "It's a wonderful life" and "Miracle on 34th st". We just watched the other night "Polar Express" and loved it. I also think that all the "Home Alone" movies are great. although when my nephew was little, he tried some of those tricks here. LOL. Christmas Vacation was funny too with Chevy Chase. You just have to watch the Grinch every year and all the rest of them. We try and watch as many of them as we can, it is a great way to get into the spirit and have great family time. Happy Holidays to all! [jsitko]

Hello katsmeow1213 My children and I have already watched National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. We watch it every year and we always enjoy it. I imagine that we'll be watching some more. [Transdisc]

Yesterday I stayed watching a movie called FIREWALL. It is an action movie and I really enjoyed watching it. It is not a holiday movie. Usually I just stay watching disney channel or boomerang. Whatever my son chooses i stay watching with him. © ronaldinu 2008 [ronaldinu]

Yes I am watching holiday movies. One of my favorite parts of Christmas is watching the holoday movies. They are so much fun. [my2boys]

Nope, not yet, I haven't watched any movies for Holidays. Too busy with work and family at the moment but we are waiting for some local comedy/family films here in the Philippines so that we can watch all together then eat in a fancy nice restaurant. Looking forward to it! Cheers! [jesbellaine]

At the top of my list is Christmas Vacation. That is my favorite Christmas movie. It doesn't matter how many times I watch it, it still cracks me up. Of course, there's also Elf. I also like the first two Home Alone movies. (I knew there was a 4th but haven't seen it.) Another one is Christmas With The Kranks. Like a lot of the others, I try to catch some of the movies on Lifetime. One movie I'm dying to see is Fred Claus. It just came out on DVD and I haven't seen it yet. The same goes for Four Christmases. My mom and I were going to see it last week but we didn't make it. Hopefully we will soon! On the flip side, I know I'm one of a few but I do not like A Christmas Story. I remember watching it when I was younger and haven't seen it since because I was bored with it. Now it's everywhere. This year I've seen ornaments and stockings for the movie at several different places. Noooo! LOL [Reesers]
I'm right there with you with not liking A Christmas Story. It just really wasn't all that good if you ask me. [katsmeow1213]

yes i have started watching the christmas shows , as a mater of fact we are going to watch the rodolph cartoon tonight and keep my tv on lifetime on sundays beccaus that is all that is on and i love them o and halmark has some good ones to [mandytaylor48]

I will definately watch "It's a Wonderful Life". Maybe "Gremlins". I haven't seen "Polar Express" yet so I'll probably make it a point to see it this year. [camomom]
My oldest girl thinks that they do too. [camomom]

I saw one holiday movie, "Three Days" this year that I'd never seen before even though it's an older movie, 2002 or somewhere around there if I remember correctly. I always watch "The Christmas Shoes" at least once and there are a few others I'll recognize when I see them on the TV listings. Believe it or not, I still haven't seen "Christmas Story" so I've put it on my "Must Do" list for this year. Of course, I usually catch "It's a Wonderful Life". "Noel" was recommended to me by a friend so I have that scheduled to record on my DVR for next week one day. Annie [anniepa]

I am watching a lot of the Christmas shows on the Lifetime Channel and on the Hallmark Channel.. These are what my husband refers to as girly movies, so I watch them alone.. We also watch Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase every Christmas, but again, we also watch it at least once in the summer, it is my favorite. [DonnaLawson]

I have only watched one holiday movie so far. Shreks christmas, but Im sure I will watch plenty more when it gets closer. [messageme]

I don't imagine we'll get any movies special for the season at all. We don't have TV but we do watch the occassional DVD via the computer. Perhaps I'll see if we can swap a few with neighbours over the school holiday though, just to give us a bit of a change whilst the weather is bad. [GreenMoo]

Hello katsmeow, We haven't watch any holiday movies this month. Holidays seems dull this year because of the economic crisis. I guess we should enjoy what we have today and let tomorrow take care of itself. I have not seen the Adam Sandler movie 8 Crazy Nights, I'll try to check it out this week and rent some holiday movies to bring it the festive mood. I haven't check out the movies coming this month and so I don't have any idea what are the coming holiday movies. I guess it's better to check the cinema or the video shop. Regards. ninjaninjaninja [robert19ph]

Yes, we've been watching Christmas movies in our house. We just watch the ones on ABC Family and on Lifetime. There have been a lot of good ones on this year. We always watch It's a Wonderful Life because that's my favorite movie. We haven't watched it yet this year but we will probably watch it this weekend. I've already told my husband that it's time to watch it soon because Christmas will be here next week. Wow, this month has really flown by...this whole year has really flown by. [sweetgirl_k1]
Yes it sure has. I can't believe Christmas is like a week away. I'm excited though. [katsmeow1213]

I don't make it a point to watch any holiday movies but did happen to see most of Polar Express for the first time and loved it. I had never seen it before and didn't know what it was about before. I think that is the only one that I watched this year. [idowrite72]

I'm so sorry for coming in so late. However, I watched polar express and many cartoon films during last holiday season. [suruchi86]

Well seeing this post was dated 6mo's ago I suppose I would of been watching the holiday movies. I do like Polar Express, It's a Wonderful Life, White Christmas, and my favorites are the Santa Clause movies. And since it is May now I don't really watch them this time of year but sometimes I do just for a change of pace. What kid & "big kid" doesn't like the magic of the Christmas Season? [3SnuggleBunnies]
