Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian: Out On May 16th

I think enough of my friends here know me well by now, to know I'm a die-hard fantasy lover when it comes to books or movies. I absolutely LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe when it came out in 2005 and have both the theatrical and director's cut versions of the DVD movie. Well on May 16th, the second in the Chronicles of Narnia series, Prince Caspian is coming out to a theatre near you....hehe--are you going to see it? Unfortunately being on a budget I don't think I can have the luxury of seeing it, so will have to wait when it comes out on DVD.sad Here are links to the official websites and the first link includes a trailer of the movie http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/narnia/ http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/narnia/map/ http://disney.go.com/disneypictures/narnia/email/?1

responses and comments:

I have actually never gotten into any of the Chronicles series. I may be a weird one but it always takes me a couple of years after something gets old for me to get into it...haha. [dopey22girl]
It's funny I never read either Lord of The Rings or Chronicles of Narnia until my college days...when Lord of the Rings came out in the movies, it inspired me to re-read the books, then of course when the first Narnia came out began re-reading them as well. These are supposedly "kids" books but since my mother was never a reader, she never read stories to me as a kid...looks like I made up for it in my "older" years though...LOL [pyewacket]

I have seen clips on television, and they are awesome. It will be really neat, but unless my career path changes it will be a very long time before I see it. I loved the books as well, bought them for my kids, and nephews. I spent one very memorable summer reading them to college age students who would come get their bedtime stories at my house. It was a good summer in that way. [GardenGerty]
yes my budget is wanting as well...at about $8.00 a movie ticket that's kind of an extravagance for me...waaahhh..unless by some miracle extra money comes my way between now and the 16th. I saw your answer under the first poster's...I still have the VHS of that BBC Chronicles of Narnia...I love it but funny how some years make a different as the special effects in the newer Narnia is out of this world..instead of a "puppet" Aslan with two people in it, the newer has a CG version that is so life like you think it was a real lion [pyewacket]

My birthday is May 17th so I am taking my son to see it as my birthday treat - I have had the book series since I was a teen and it is really awesome to see them finally coming to the big screen! Lexa [LexaNightShadows]
I think it's about the same here - we went to see Forbidden Kingdom last night and for 2 adults and one child it was $22.00 for the tickets - my husband is heading back up north tomorrow, so it was a nice treat for us to get out as a family. Lexa [LexaNightShadows]

Pye..since i took my 10 yr old grandaughter to see Narnia..she's anxious like me to see prince caspian too..and am a die hard fantasy book and movie lover too! I'm going to make sure i have enough to take her and then eat cheap for the next week..LOL..she also wants us to see the new indiana movie the following week...good thing the movie place is a couple of blocks away. [Rosekitty]
We saw the previews for the new Indiana Jones movie at the theater last night - I think it is safe to say the Harrison Ford is just as good as he ever was! Ahhhhh, it's so nice that some things don't change that fast! Lexa [LexaNightShadows]

I want to go see that movie! I've seen the trailers of it.. I don't go out to movies much, but I would go see this one. [OreoCookie3]
The last movie I did see was the first Narnia movie in 2005..yeesh, three years ago! sure wish we lived closer by...we could see it together... [pyewacket]

We will probably go see it in the theater. We saw the trailer for Prince Caspian when we were in Disney Summer 2007. Looked really cool. The trailer and set up they had for the movie was much better than the trailers that are running on TV and in the theater. [sedel1027]
Hope you enjoy it then...doesn't look like I'll be able to see it so will wait until it's out on DVD [pyewacket]

I've seen several trailers of the movie in the theater, I'm looking forward to the movie. I hadn't seen the first one in the theater but I've watched the movie with my client. I am looking forward to the next one. [ElicBxn]
Wish I could send you a movie ticket to it, Pye, even more, I wish we could watch it together - oh well... [ElicBxn]

I hope that it is as good as the first one was. I read the books and they are an utter treat. Fascinating. I got swept away more so than did my child. [Angelwhispers]
Well looks like I'll have to wait until it comes out on DVD--too darn expensive to see movies, especially now [pyewacket]

hi, very nice site. Thanks for the feed. [cornchips50]
You're welcomed..glad you liked it [pyewacket]

Hi, I saw the first Narnia Movie and liked it immensely . I am eagerly awaiting the second Narnia Movie and would be going to watch it in the Movie Theatre . [ptrikha1]
Glad to see another Narnia fan here. [pyewacket]

My kids and I really love the Chronicles of Narnia. We're really looking forward to seeing it. I've seen the pictures and it's really wonderful. Lucy with her long hair now and Edmund all grown up already. [Neriz69]
Yes, it's almost funny to see how these "child" actors change so much in appearance..when I saw the trailers I almost didn't recognize Lucy [pyewacket]

Thanks for the reminder. I knew it was out this summer but I didn't realise, or I forgot it was in May. W00T. I am so looking forward to this film. I really love the Chronicles of Narnia, I thought that the first movie was excellent and I am also very excited to see this.wub [feliniti]
I absolutely fell in love with the first Narnia movie and loved how the director brought the story to life [pyewacket]

I am now thinking of reading a Harry Potter novel. I really should. Some very educated friends of mine go off on them. I, somehow, believe they are for children. Not that I mind that, I like a good, simple, interesting story. The Chronicles, I think, would be a pretty good read although I still mentally classify them as childrens' stuff. Then there are the Lord of the Rings set of books - God ! I have a lot to catch up on ! I just know that when I start I won't stop ! Maybe thats why I'm taking so long with this. I will read them though, a good read I cannot deny. [Bluepatch]
I love reading children's books..LOL. And it's amazing how children's books have changed...I mean when I was a kid I NEVER read children's books that were 800 pages long like some of the Harry Potter books...I mean, even adult books aren't that long! [pyewacket]

I read all seven books as a kid, so I can't wait to see them all on the big screen. The first one was a great movie. The crew really captured the heart of the story. The second looks like it will be just as good. I, too, can't wait to see it. We are on a tight budget, but have been saving for this just as we would a vacation. So, we'll see it sometime either this weekend or next. [jayperiod]
Have you seen it yet...I'm going to just have to wait until it comes out on DVD...but I did at least see the first one and have that on DVD--and loved it..still do [pyewacket]

Yup, we're planning to see it on Friday night, when it comes out! :) I don't really remember the books very well from when I was younger, but the first movie was so wonderful, and I suspect this one will be equally charming. So I've been looking forward to it! :) [scarywhitegirl]
Did you see it? I didn't..It's still at my nearby movie theatre but I just don't have the funds to go..waaahhhh [pyewacket]

I'm really excited about the movie, personally! However the one thing that DOES bother me... and I know most things do get changed for cinematic effect or whatever, but in the book, Caspian is like 12. O_o in the movie, he's a super-hot 19-ish year old (fine with me, he's quiet delicious to look at ;D ). I just dont get how it translates to a 7 year age difference lol 12 vs. 19 is a pretty significant difference, especially when you consider what 19 year olds are capable of compared to 12 year olds, yanno? Maybe its just me lol [m0rnings]
Well it seems a lot of directors take poetic license with movies based on books..I remember the ruckus die hard Lord Of The Rings fans of the books made over Peter Jackson's versions...maybe Andrew Adamson thought a 12 year old couldn't "handle" the role as well as this 19 year actor [pyewacket]

and I will have to wait till it comes to tv [Lakota12]
awwwwwwwww that is sad [Lakota12]

my kids really liked the movie and I have to say right now that I don't think I will see the movie but maybe my husband can take a couple of my kids to the theater to see it, I have a buy one get one half price or buy one get one free coupon in my Entertainment book But I haven't watched the movies, and most likely wont.. I know Disney and the relatives of CS Lewis have been working on making these as close to the book as possible...so I hope its as spectacular as teh first one. Mooch [oneandonemakesix]
I think Andrew Adamson is nothing short of a genius director to begin with..heck I LOVE his Shrek movies as well. [pyewacket]

OOh man Pye I am so with you on this one. I have always love the entire Narnia cronicles ever since I was a kid. I own Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe movie and PS2 game. I will not be able to go to th movies either but darn strait I will be buying it when it comes out on DVD and IF there is a PS2 game to it as well I will be getting that too. I have the book that has ALL 7 cronicles in it and havent really had the chance to get through it because it is an intimidating book but one of these days I am going to glue my but down and read it. [magikrose]
I plan to reread the books too...I love all those kinds of children's stories..guess it reflects my kid in heart spirit..LOL [pyewacket]

pye I loved that move "The Lion, the witch andthe wardrobe. So I would love to see the second the the Chronicles but probably will haveto wait for the dvd as my income is really limited. I will have to tell my son about that and maybe he can take me, it would be such fun. [Hatley]
Seems a lot of us have to wait for it to come out on DVD...movie tickets are darn expensive!! But sometimes it's more fun to watch at home on DVD...uh, that way you don't miss anything if one has to go to the bathroom...just hit the pause button...lol [pyewacket]

I AM going to see this. Beyond a shadow of a doubt I'm going to see this! I totally loved the first one, and it took me back to my childhood when the series was out on Television. I even had the books as a child too. I'm not a huge lover of fantasy, but when The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe came out, I wanted to go see it to see if it was as good as I remembered it to be in my childhood. It didn't disappoint me lol. Now I'm hooked again and can't wait for Friday! [angelwhispers30]
Oh! I still have the BBC TV version of the Chronicles of Narnia on VHS tapes...and I STILL have the books---How different that earlier version of it was though from the newer version...was so much better--but then they didn't have the special effects then like they do now...didn't you just love Aslan?? [pyewacket]

They are very much a some of my favorite story's, I read them to my kids more then once. The thing is I have not even taken the time to see the 1st one. But all 3 of my kids, have seen it. I thought it was great that they enjoy fantasy so much. I like to think it was all those years of reading to them that created their love for it. They are all huge JR Tolkein fans as well. I want to see the 1st one though before I watch the new one. Since I do not have a DVD player that works I shall just have to set the time aside go to my sisters and watch it. [Deea48]
I'm a huge Lord Of The Rings fan as well...I think they are still trying to work out making a new version of The Hobbit with Jackson as the director, which would be fitting, right? [pyewacket]

I too can't wait! I may have to kidnap the nieces and go to the movies. Or wait until it comes out on DVD. On the other hand, I know I want to buy it then, so I don't think it would be too wrong to look for a screener to tide me over until then. I have read the books several times since I got them as a child. I think they should do a movie of the Magician's Nephew too. [Trace86]
Well I have to wait until it comes out on DVD..drat..I've been watching the first movie again on DVD and I still love it [pyewacket]

I think Narnia is going to be a good movie.I really enjoyed the Lion,Witrch and the wzrdrobe. [snowy22315]
Yes I loved the first movie..it was great [pyewacket]

I would buy DVD as usual I like cuddling while watching DVD rather than seating among the crowd. Kids in the cinemas are often annoyance, if not running around they will make noise or kick the back of my seat. I can have hubby cut their legs off but then again they will make even more noise and thats not worth the entrance ticket. I don't know how much is the ticket now but back then it's the same price as new DVD so it works well for me just to buy it. The TV size and performance is good enough for me although I admit watching LOTR in the cinema was great experience, but then again there was no kids running around then. [LittleMel]
My theatre experience when I saw the first Narnia movie was kind of disappointing...I actually love to watch the end credits, but yikes as soon as the end credits go on everyone gets up to leave so then I can't see it...also, they at the movie theatre cut the credits short..grrrr [pyewacket]

I loved The Lion the With and the Wardrobe book and cartoon movie when I was a kid. I really enjoyed the new Narnia that came out in 2005, too. I want to see Prince Caspian, but I don't know f I'll have the time or money. xD Maybe I'll wait for it to come out on dvd. [megumiart]
Yeah, I'm going to wait until it comes out on DVD as well. [pyewacket]

oh my goodness! maybe I will be able to swing it and treat the kids (and myself *wink* ) the theatre is a good 30 miles each way so I have to factor in the gas expense as to whether we can manage it. thanks for the heads up! [Modestah]
Goodness...you're movie theatre is 30 miles away..I'm so lucky mine is withing walking distance..LOL..no good though..just don't have the funds to see it now...waaahhhhh [pyewacket]

I finally saw a commercial for this today and it looks fantastic. I never read the books. I tried but couldn't get into them. I did though enjoy the first Narnia movie and even own a copy on DVD of it. It was great watching. The acting was phenomenal but the effects really made the movie even better. The new one looks like it will be just as fantastic, at least from what the commercials show. Unlike you due to a tight budget I'll have to wait till it comes out on DVD, that and I'm not that comfortable going to movies. Far too often they are too crowded for me and with a long awaited movie they are even more crowded I have found so I'll have to wait sad. That being said though I think the wait will be worth it. [emeraldisle]
I agree Aslan was fantastic. They did a great job. Yeah funds are tight here too especially during the summer months when our electric bill triples. Hopefully it won't be as bad this year. [emeraldisle]

I am going to go see this movie-- when it comes out- hopefully at the drive-in. I love the drive-in and think it will be so cool to see this movie on the big screen. I have to be honest- I've never seen the first one- My daughter has seen it over 5 times and loves it. So I'm going to get it this weekend and watch it with her so I'm ready for the second one. I hope it's as good as you think it will be :) and as good as my daughter thinks too! [KrisNY]
Did you get to see it yet? I didn't ..think I'll just have to wait until it comes out on DVD..oh well..and yes, the first movie was fantastic [pyewacket]

Wow thanks for the link. I likely won't see it in the theatre either but will wait until it comes out on Blue Ray. My husband doesn't want us buying anymore DVD's since a new technology is coming out and DVD's will become obselete. Hopefully Blue Ray won't be too expensive. Wow Pye, I'm going through my mylot mailbox and so far the first like five are your articles! [artemis432]
Blue Ray??? Yikes what's that? Oh, no...don't tell me something new is coming out just when I've built a nice DVD collection...LOL [pyewacket]

Sorry to hear that you will have to wait to see this movie. I have really looked foward to seeing Prince Caspian, lucky for me a bunch of us are going on friday to see it. I think it will be fantasic. Hope you get to see it soon since your a huge fan. [karadiablo]
Well like I said I'll probably have to wait and see it when it comes out on DVD...Actually I was ticked off when I did see the first movie...I was there in the theatre, and when it came to the end credits..they cut it short and put the house lights on...like gee, I LIKE watching the end credits and listening to the music..LOL [pyewacket]

Oh, yes. You know I love the Chronicles! I did enjoy the first movie and thought they did a nice job on the movie. I think it helps that C.S. Lewis' stepson is an advisor for the movies. We don't have a good movie theater in our town, so I will wait for the DVD, also. [susieq223]
Hi susieq...glad to see you here..now don't go disappearing again...heehee Well yup guess we both have to wait till it comes out on DVD...bummerthumbdown [pyewacket]

I absolutely lived the first movie. I watched it more than once! If money allows I hope to drag the old man to see the second movie. Hopefully it will be playing at our local drive-in theatre so we can bring our grandkids. Even if they don't go with us, I want to see it! [ElusiveButterfly]
I happen to have both the theatrical version and director's cut version of the first one on DVD amd don't ask how many times I've seen it...love it [pyewacket]

Hi pyewacket! I do love the "Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" too. In fact, I have been watching it over and over again in my dvd and sometimes on cable too. Hubby says, I am like a child who never gets enough with watching the movie. haha.. I am going to watch the sequel and I am also going to wait for it to be released in DVD so I can watch it over and over again too. wink Take Care and God Bless! Happy Mylotting! happy [faith210]
Hi pyewacket! That is great! I think I will have a great time watching you and hubby doing Yoda and Darth Vader together. haha..wink [faith210]

does some one have torrents for this movie? if any please post here. i want to watch this movie. i guess torrents.com is the best site to search for the torrents. have any one found a good torrent for this? [anithamuly]
What's a torrents if you don't mind my asking...I never heard that term before [pyewacket]

my whole family (seven of us) went to watch the first movie when it was playing here.. and we all enjoyed it a lot.. and i am looking forward to watching the 2nd. one.. but i'll wait 'till the 'hype' dies down.. much easier to get tickets then.. i hope.. but thing is.. my husband is also thinking of taking the kidz to watch the latest Indiana Jones.. and we cant afford to go the movies that frequent.. so the kidz might have to choose.... [4mymak]
I know...movie tickets aren't cheap which is probably why I'll just have to wait until the DVD comes out..same with Indiana Jones...oh, wellsad [pyewacket]

Hi, I saw this Movie: "Chronicles of Narnia-Prince Caspian " on last Saturday . Since I had seen the first part,I understood the Movie background . I found the Movie quite engrossing and entertaining . I liked King Peter as well as Prince Caspian's acting .The locales as expected were stunning . The first 30 minutes seemed a bit slow .However;the Movie picks up thereafter . The Climax fight is also terrific . The only problem with the movie could be that a person who has not seen the first part would have difficulty understanding the Movie . Regards, -Ptrikha1 [ptrikha1]
Yes I think it would be hard for a person who hasn't seen the first movie to follow this 2nd one. I'm glad you got to see it though and it sounds like you really enjoyed ithappy [pyewacket]

No I didnt see this movie yet even though I really want to. I loved the first one and its probally my favorite fantasy movie in the past few years. It seems like all of these fantasy movies are trying to copy narnia. But I do want to see the second one I heard it was great from a few people who saw it. Ive been waiting for a few years so hopefully ill see it soon maybe this week. [arcidy]
Did you see Lord of The Rings? those were great movies too...was disappointed with Eragon...the book was so much better [pyewacket]

i've always loved c.s lewis too.. he's just like tolkien who is also a fantasy novel writer. i think they were colleagues. [hanirose]
Yes I love Lord of The Rings too,and yes, C.S. Lewis and Tolkien were good friends of each other. [pyewacket]

I watched it last night and thought it was quite good. It held up well to the first movie. My husband found a screener copy on the internet for me. I can ask him to send me the link and send it to you if you are interested. It is a little pixelated, but definitely watchable. I may have to watch it again soon. It is a bit long though. How is it cheaper to wait for it to come to DVD? A DVD costs 25 bucks and a movie ticket 10. Unless you have a bunch of kids to trail with you and want popcorn and jujubees. It didn't progress the way I remember from the book, creative license I guess. Still, I can't wait till it comes out on DVD. It will go right next to it's sister movie on my shelf. [Trace86]
Yup--I have the books, and in fact am re-reading them now..LOL [pyewacket]

No you do not have to wait. I have already seen it. Sitting at home right here at my computer. It is such an awesome movie. You can veiw this movie at watch-movies.net for free. [mrsfrodotata]
Is it safe? I'm sometimes leary about downloading anything...did go to the site, even notice they have the new Indiana Jones movie there [pyewacket]

Great Sequel! Watch it just now. I love it! The movie gave me goosebumps in a good way. That's how great it was. I feel I'm a little younger now. Great fantasy! Of course, the cast is amazingly pretty. haha. Prince Caspian, is soo cute. Love King Peter too! Awww, Edmund is so sweet. Susan and Lucy is awesome too! so, its obvious that I'm kinda biased here?!? haha. I haven't had the chance to read the book but love the film I guess I will not going to ruined my taste. [rzr247]
Mmmm..so I take it you liked it..LOL. I absolutely loved the first Narnia movie. I'll just have to wait until the second one comes out on DVD though..oh wellsad [pyewacket]

I love LWW. I loved Prince Caspian even more. Saw it a week after it was scheduled for international release. =) I haven't read the books though. [joliefille]
I'm glad you loved it...I'll have to wait until it comes out on DVD though...dratsad [pyewacket]

Why they didn't make Magician's Nephew the movie? [am_roxx]
Owh... I see.. Well, I guessed Magician's Nephew is the first book... [am_roxx]
