Whenever I go to the movie theater I usually stop into the restroom before I go in to the theater. There have been times though when I've needed to use the restroom while the movie was playing. If the movie is really good I'll sit there and wait until it is over to use the restroom. I don't want to miss any of the movie. Do you get up in the middle of a movie to use the restroom?

Well it depends upon the movie. If the movie I was watching is a horror film, when it's in the climax I'd prefer staying in my sit and let the scene finish first before I go to the restroom. I get scared easily so I would not want my imagination to go wild while I'm in the restroom. But if the movie was just a plain old story, I'd go immediately to the restroom. I would not want to get a disease by keeping my bladder full just because of a movie now would I? If its a good movie, I can always go and watch it again. :) [anjel016]
Well, if I really had to go, I would get up...on the other hand I don't go to movies in general...it is hard for me to sit in one place,! plus the expense,,I would rather buy the DVD or DVR the movie when it came on TV. Then I can getup whenever I want!! Plus, I find theaters too loud for me, and my knees hurt. When I have gone to the theater, I've always taken a seat on the end, so I wouldn't feel trapped!!! Hi there. Well, yes, I usually end up getting up to go to the restroom while watching movies. I rarely watch movies without getting a snack and a drink so I usually have to get up midway through the movie. I don't really mind as much. I usually just ask the people I've gone to see the movie with what I missed. lol [nekonyanta]

Hi there Shar. I would not get up to go to the bathroom during a movie that i paid for - it doesn't feel right. I go before as well, and i will wait to the end of the movie to go again if i really need to as I too don't want to miss the movie that i paid for. [elitess]

I don't normally get up to go to the bathroom during movies. I try to make sure to use the restroom before the movie to avoid going during it. Usually that keeps me from needing to go again until the end. If I do have to go to the bathroom during the movie, I usually try to just wait until it's over, as long as I don't have to go too bad. I just hate missing part of the movie, because then I'm always afraid I'll end up missing one of the best parts!happy Also, sometimes it makes it harder to keep up with what's going on once you get back. it depends on where I am during the day.If I'm at home, it's usually around 4 or 5 times a day, but if I'm away from home all day, I might only get to go once or twice that day since I always lock up in public places. [punk_gal]

I like to go before the movie, or after. Those tickets are expensive. I want to get my monies worth. Not spend time in a stall. The only times in recent memory that I got up in the middle of a show was while I was pregnant. And I don't think that anyone can fault me there!lol [ersmommy1]

Hey come to Egypt and you won't have this problem! In Egypt they have a break half way through the movie. I think this is due more to the fact that the majority of Egyptians smoke, but it gives a chance to go to the bathroom too. When I am in the US I usually try to hold it, unless the movie sucks. I had to pee pretty bad while watching Benjamin Button, but I waited...I was also starving by the time it was over so I went to Max & Erma's and got a fat bacon cheeseburger, lol. [angela_allen]

Yes I seem to always have to go to the bathroom when I go to the movie. Probably because all that pop I drink when I am there. If it's at a good part then I ust wait until that part is over then go to the bathroom, an usually I have to take one of my younger brothers or sisters to the bathroom in the middle of the movie if I go with them because their to young to go by thereselfs. Since developing adhesions from my son's cesarean birth it's impossible for me to sit for a few hours without going to the bathroom, unless I'm willing to deal with the pain that comes from everything getting pressed up by a full bladder, held, and then released. (adhesions bind everything in the area together after a surgery, even unrelated body parts) I try to go before and hold it, but if I start to hurt a little I'll go because it'll just get worse from there. I don't drink anything while in the theatre or I'll definitely have to go. My dad always would hold it during the movie and then if he didn't go to the bathroom before he and my mom headed home they would always have a fight. He'd be all cranky from having to go that he would just make up reasons to argue with her. It got to the point that she'd always remind him to go before they left the theatre. [gr8esama]

I am just like you on this one. I go beforehand so as not to miss any of the movie that I just paid 12 bucks for. I do usually get a drink while there, and drink it up rather quick while eating popcorn. And there are times where I've REALLY need to go. I just hate to miss the movie, that I'll just wait till it's over and make a mad dash as soon as the credits start rolling. Thinking back, I can only remember once that I've ever left during the movie to use the restroom. It was somewhat early in the movie and I just knew there was no way I'd make it till the end. i get up in the early morning to go to the bathroom. i drinked a lot of water before i sleeped every night. if you ask me whether i get up in the middle of a movie to use the restroom.of course i will. it is very nature,isn't it? if you don't want to ge to the restroom constantly,then do drink less water. I hate missing any parts of a movie while in the cinema so going to the restroom in the middle of the movie or during any parts of it is a no no. Especially if it is a good one or something I've really really want to watch from start to finish. So I make it a point to drink less liquids before and during the showing. HI Shar19.. I go to the bathroom in the middle of a movie if I badly need to. Same as you do, I go to the bathroom first before I sit inside the moviehouse. I also try to minimize my fluid intake since it makes me want to pee over and over again which is so uncomfortable and irritating especially if the movie is so damn good. [jhoannejoj]

I try my hardest not to unless someones there to come with me. Not in fear of missing parts of the movie but because I have a horrible sense of direction! I was actually just thinking about this. I usually avoid going out of the theater mid-movie at all costs. Usually the "feeling" goes away, if I hold it long enough. But the other day, I saw "Knowing", and I chugged a Nos before going in the theater, and that stuff just shoots through me, so I had to go use the restroom in the middle off the movie. But I hated it! I came back, and I had no idea what was going on. Some people just leave and come back like 20 times in one movie, but I hate going once. [hewhoeatspie]
Only few times I have gone to the theater but I always surely will go in the restroom even in the middle of a movie. Before the movie starts, I make it a habit to go to the comfort room first but I`m one of those who seems to fill their bladder fast, so I have to go even if the movie is so interesting. Then, after the movie finishes, I line up to use the comfort room. I drink beverages a lot, so I have to empty my bladder often. Otherwise, I`ll be sick. I usually try to go to the rest room before the start of the movie, I don't like having to leave my seat in the middle of the movie because 1. I don't like missing any part of the movie too and 2. its kinda creepy when I had to go in the middle of the show and no body else is in the rest room with me... who knows what can happen there while I am alone and the sounds of the movie is really loud...
