Do You Go Out And Get Movies

I do and I go and get them for free, every week My grand-children and I go and get Movies from the Library. It doens't cost anything, just bring them back on time, I had owed 30 dollars on some movies that I had got, and the other day I went to this one Library in the Surburb, in Euclid, Oh. I wanted to pay something on my find, so we could get more Movies, The Librarian told me if I paid $15.00 on my fine instead of 30.00 I would be cleared and wouldn't owe anything I thought that was nice of her, now where I normaly go I would have had to pay the whole fine, but they gave me a break, I thought that was nice. not only that they let you get more movies. To make a long story short, do you go to the Library and get Movies? sometimes they have good Movies.

thats a good idea, I forgot that you can get movies at the library. I need to start doing that! Thanks. [AICIRT81]
Well what are you waiting for go and get some LOL! [marciascott]

Hey Marcia my youngest daughter loves to check out movies from the library when I take her there. You are right sometimes they do have good movies.Yes that was nice of her to let you pay only half. [disvachic]
Nita that is a Cray Lady, she doesn't love far from me, about 2 hours ago. I am going to visit her she is the first friend I had her. [marciascott]

I have done this too. When my kids were still home we would on rainy days go get a couple....that is how they got to see the classics like Sound of Music West Side Story, etc. Otherwise they might never had the opportunity to see them before they had the chance to pick their own which I am sure would have been more modern ones. [jillhill]
Yes, I think this is fun to do, they look forward to doing this every week. [marciascott]

We dont have libraries here in PI where we can find movie..but we have lots of stalls selling out DVD copies of movies and theres lots of these that you can choose from. It will you $2 or less each copy. Thats where we go to find the latest movies considering how expensive watching movies in theaters these days! [daryljane]
Well that is good, that is cheap. [marciascott]

No I dont. First gas prices are so high to drive to the nearest library, second I like the comfort of choosing my movies at home from the wide selection on Netflex. So the cost is not too much and I can keep them as long as it want plus I can watch instant movies on my PC. [whiteheather39]
I use to do that watch movies on my computer. you are right Gas is expense but library is close by like 5 mins away. [marciascott]

I used to rent movies at the library until I didn't get some movies back on time I had 3 out and forgot I had them I took them back 5 days late I never went and got anymore movies then I tried to check a book out over a year later and they said I had a $150 fine to pay first I told them I would rather not check books out from there than pay that ridiculous of a fine. I have never been back. [luvstochat]
Wow, that is quite funny, well you half to be more responsible, when something is not yours, you half to be responsible if you borrow it, that is why I had to pay the fine. I learned my lesson though. [marciascott]

Not anymore, I used to though. Now that I have my computer, I am glued to that. I don't watch much tv or movies. Get the popcorn and have some fun. [Polly1]
Girl you make me laugh, I coldn't stop laughing, you are so crazy!!! [marciascott]

I do too, My cousin has almost every good movie that out so I go to him to see whats hot and whats not. [blkcat1]
That's good are they Bootleg? LOL! if they show good that's alright, I don't like to get those kinds because they don't show up good. Maybe they aren't send me some of them, Just joking. [marciascott]

Gosh, we do this all the time. Our library has not only old movies, but they have the new ones as soon as they're released. The new ones you can only keep for two days, and there is a two dollar charge, but after about a month it's free (so I usually wait till then.) Older movies you can keep out for a week, and some of them for 2 weeks (like instructional videos and stuff like that.) [JoyfulOne]
It is a small world isn't it. so you know where I am talking about, yeah, were you live it is in the Country, I would love to live in the country. Did you know that Mylot has a News letter out. well they do, and this whole discussion in in it, It make me feel good, that they pick my discussion, along with a few more people. Wow, do I get a raise, No I don't think so. Anyway I just found it in my email. did you see anything about this? [marciascott]

I love checking out movies at the library. It seems that now all of them stock brand new films and the popular ones also, not just some from six years ago... And plus, late fees are not as bad compared to the movie rental locations... [zenmachado]
You are right, I bet you forgot about going to get Movies at the Library? I use to forget, but I go pretty regular now, every week. [marciascott]

I do not get Movies from the Library. We get TCM and we can see the old movies there. I do not go to the library because it is quite a distance away, and we also membership at Blockbusters, but since most of what we get is on TCM, the only time we rent is if there is a long weekend and lately my husband has been getting sets for the old TV shows he used to like. There is another thing, we no longer use our vhs player. [suspenseful]
Yes because we have the DVD players now. Do you have one, I just brought a new one with the stereo to it and it also plays C.D's so I can do both, it also shows pictures that you can put in to show, picture Disc, you know what I am taking about. I think. [marciascott]

I was just telling my friend earlier that it had been a long time since I had seen a really good movie. I do not watch television, but I love a good movie every now and then. She suggested that I go to the library and get one. I like you, had kept a movie for too long and ended up having to pay like $6.00 in fees. Since then, I have only been taking out books. I am considering movies again now though. [Rozie37]
Well Rozie why not it dosn't cost you anything just be responsible. [marciascott]

We used to do that but now we get all of our movies through Netflix and they mail them to us to watxh and then we mail them back. We get unlimited movies every month and only pay a flat $18.01 and there is never a late fee. You cam keep them as long as you want. I haven't ever went to the library to get movies as of now. [stephcjh]
Yeah. I don't go to the library much at all. I don't really like to read because I have to read something several times to remember what I just read. Netflix sends me 3 movies at a time. I go online to their website, select my movies and put them in queue, which is my personal list, then they send me a movie each time I send one back. they pay postage both ways to and from my home. They provide the envelope. There are never any late fees either. Keep them as long as you like but you only get movies when you send some back and they send the next one on your list. If I send back today, I will get more the next day or the next day. [stephcjh]

I have gotten movies from the library before when my daughters were younger, but that is something that I haven't done in years. That's nice that they only made you pay 1/2 of the fine. [terri0824]
Yes I thought it was very nice. I just take my Grand-children to get movies there, they think it is a treat, some times I even go and buy Pizza, or Popcorn and we watch them together. [marciascott]

yeah sometimes ..but usually we go to movies every weekend together with the family or sometimes just the two of us..watching movies is one of our favorites when not working.. [vanities]
That is a good Family Project, get some popcorn or Pizza and spend some quailty time with your family, that is important. [marciascott]

My kids have grabbed movies from the kids section of the library but I only realized last week when we were there that there is an adults DVD section in the adult part! LOL I didnt have a chance to check it out though since we were on our way out the door but now tht I know its there the next time we go I'll definately be seeing what they carry [Ravenladyj]
Hi RavenLady I have been waiting for you to come here, you you this topic is right up you alley Movies LOL. I was thing about you this Morning when I came here, I said I am waiting to see if RavenLady will come here, see this got your attention. Ok, I just read what you wrote, yes why not it's free, have a good Sunday! What movie you are watching today, I go three for me the kids got the other 7. we half to take them back Tues. [marciascott]

well .i used to go out and get movies for rent .. but not anymore ... i either go to Multiplexes or .. take the movies from my friend.. :) . he lives alone .. and he doesnt have any cable so .. he usually borrows movie cd's for 30 bucks a day .. he saves the movies in his computer.. so all i need is my pendrive . thats it . :) he tranfers the movie into my pendrive :) .. and about going to library and get movies .. well . out here.. to my knowledge.. libraries dont provide movies .. but then . i havent been to other libraries other than my college library :D .. so . thinks may be different .. ill check it out :D .. [devilangelo]
Well Sweet-heart you should. I think 30 bucks is way to much, maybe you all get good movies, I bet you all have aenough Movies to hold you for a while, but still remember the Library too because it is free. Have a wonderful week! [marciascott]

I never went to the library to get movies. Do they have new releases there are is it older movies? That is a good idea although I don't want to bring my kids to the library just yet since they still like putting everything in their mouths still. I always wanted to take them to one of those toddler readings but I think I will have to wait until the youngest is 3. good post. [mflower2053]
Yes, I would like to take my 2 Grandtwins to some of those story-book reading. they would love it if the sat still long enough. I did take one of the twins to the Library with rest of my Grand-kids he was all over the place, he is 18months. [marciascott]

We do that occasionally but our libraries still charge rental for them. IT's not much though so it's better than from proper rental places or buying them. I think it's good that we can do this. I prefer to see films at the cinema but that's so expensive! It makes sense to wait a while and rent them for £1.50 [pumpkinjam]
that is very true. I like the $1.50 show. [marciascott]

Our library has very little to chose from in the way of movies, but when I first figured out you could rent them, (a few years ago), I rented several and didn't take them back on time, like you said, and I had a whopping $35 charge too! After some time, they did the same thing and let me pay half. That was a relief, because I wasn't able to check out books or anything for such a long time. I love the library, and I hate owing them money. Since I've seen everything they have, (which isn't much), I don't get movies from there anymore. We have digital cable and there are many movies playing on the weekends. Several to chose from. Or we have "On Demand" and there is a free movies section in there from Flix. They are usually older movies, but every now and then they will have something good in there that I haven't seen yet. Other than that, we sometimes, (not often), rent movies "On Demand" for $3.99. But I really hate doing that, as my cable/internet/phone bill is high enough as it is! I can sometimes find new movies online for free. I watched "I Am Legend" for free a couple of weeks ago - found it at MovieForumz.com - and it was really good quality too. You can find a LOT of good stuff there, but you have to have a broadband internet connection to watch movies online. [spiralbutterfly]

no i do not waste money on movie as renting out cds n stuff..i downlosad it via torrent...my net is pretty fast so the movie i wanna watch..i keep it for download when i go to sleep and then the next morning when i get up it in down loaded in my system..so i dont find a need to buy them or frnt it...i think this is the bext way you can save money ...i watch a lotta movies so if i go out n keep renting then i would be spending a lot of money for my entertainment..i dont spend a single penny when i use torrents.. [pavi_89]

no i dont go out and get movies..insted i download movies via torrents..i think it is the best way to save money insted of spending a huge amount on entertainment...when i got to watch a movie..i download the torrent and the before i got to bed i keep the movie for download and the next morning the movie is downloaded in my system...i watch a lot of movies..so if i go ahead and start spending on movies i think i waill be spending a lot on money on my entertainment. now i dont spend a single penny on my entertainment when i use torrents... [pavi_89]
Really that is very good, I must check that website out. [marciascott]

We order our movies from netflix. Sometimes I'll go to the library and get movies for the children. [magnet]
That is very good, we are suppose to take the Movies back Tues. [marciascott]

I never even knew one could rent videos from the library! How cool! My husband has had a few charges in the past that the video places dropped. I always thought that was nice of them to do this. We haven't rented movies in several months. I usually buy them nowadays when the price is low (under $10), especially if it's one the whole family can enjoy over and over again, anytime we want. :) [sacmom]
Yes, there is at least one library near me, though it is almost 10 miles away. Then again, everything is miles away from me. LOL I haven't been to the library since high school, so I had no idea they rented videos out. I'll try and check it out one of these days. Thanks for the heads up! :) [sacmom]

Hi friend, Its really good idea.If i am at ur place i can also do but i am living at India and in our place we dont have that type of facility as u have friend have a nice day [sudhajosyula50]
Well tell me what you all do in India, I kow you have Video stores? or maybe you could download Movies on your P.C? [marciascott]

I've rented from Blockbuster and Netflix, but for the most part, I don't watch too many movies. However, going to the library is smart. I used to borrow movies from my college library but I'm not sure if they would let me now that I graduated. They don't have a large selection but it was so easy to stop in and get one while on campus. I haven't checked the public library, I imagine they'd have a better selection! Thanks for the suggestion! [goodnightmoon]

oh,you are very lucy,do you have a good recommendation movies to watch? thanks! [ghshow]
We just went tonight, I got three Movies to watch. I will watch them tomommorow if I have time. [marciascott]

We borrow movies from the library all the time. New movies are 1.00 and old ones are free. We just borrowed 5 movies today in fact. It is so much cheaper than the video store. [lightningMD]
It didn't cost us any thing to get 10 Movies. [marciascott]

the libraries out here all have only really crappy movies or their all kids movies i don't really watch alot of tv either tho the only time my tv gets turned on nowadays is when my boyfriend turns it on and he doesn't live with me yet so he's only here on the weekends mostly i'm more of a computer person [mouse27]

Before the hail of DVD's and downloadable movies from the Internet for free, we used to borrow VCD's from a movie rental store (or you used to call it as library). We sometimes borrow 6 tapes and also sometimes we get to pay for our fines hehehe.. My family loves watching movies. Why don't you call a cable company then and have your television connected. It would be worth it I tell you. You'll be entertained for sure, not just by movies but by other shows that a cabled television can offer you. ;) Try it. [MGjhaud]

That was nice of that librarian. I have so many movies at home that I haven't watched yet, and I don't want to drive to the library because there are always movies on t.v. that I have never seen so I don't want to waste gas and go to the library. I figure if I want to watch a movie I can just watch one on t.v. [dopey22girl]
