Do You Still Go Out To Watch Movies

With the proliferation of different movie sources, I just had to ask that question. Nowadays, there are DVDs, Blue Ray Discs and what-have-yous. You can even download movies from the internet now. New movies are so accessible nowadays unlike before when we had to wait for a certain playdate just to watch a new film. Also, due to modern technology, you can turn your old, reliable TV room into a home theater system! At home, we love buying DVDs. We make sure we hold movie nights where we even have sodas and chips...the works. But, if there's a really wonderful movie showing in theaters, we still go out and watch it. So do you still go out to watch or catch a movie being shown in theaters?

I only go to the the theater to watch a movie if it looks like an absolutely amaizing movie. Otherwise, i go buy it and keep it as part of my collection. With how expensive movies have become, it's disgusting trying to afford a night at the theater. The only thing I miss though about not being there is the popcorn, it's just never the same as movie theater popcorn! [liltunergirl]
As for me, I only watch movies in theatre if i find it interesting and WORTH of my penny.. Nowadays, its not really wise to spend bucks for watching movies in big screen. Like what you said there are lot of ways to access and watch films, but there will never be a replacement for "movie house" ayt? The fun of watching with total strangers while laughing and be thrilled with the film at the same time. ;) [gie4435]

Hey crazy, Yes i still go out and watch movies in the threatre. Thought not too many films but yea some times i do. Actually as iam working full time i dont get the time to meet my friends so often. When we meet we make sure that we have all kinds of fun. We spend the whole weekend together and do all kind of things . Hanging out in the hill station and going to a water fall in this rainy season is so common. Lately i didnt get the time to watch movies but certainly we can plan something & have some fun. Well u can recommened some movies to me though, lol. Cheers, Tutul [tutul0045]
Well, I think it would be a lot more fun if you and your friends rent new videos and just watch from home.lol It's cozier that way plus you can catch up on a lot of things while watching and in between snacks.wink Thanks so much for your response! [crazyoverpurple]

Hi. I have to admit, over the last couple of years the number of times I have gone out for a movie has really gone down. Through the internet all these things are so very easily accessible that it is almost not advisable to go out for a movie. I now watch most of the movies on my system. [coolmailraj]
yes and cheaper lol i forgot to say:)) [dualityalex]

i don't i download movies from internet and i watching at home,is fine for me because a can sit how i want,i can stop the movie if i go to the freezer to get something to drink.sometimes i call my friends to come and we watch together, but most times i watch with my brother,we like comedy movies. [dualityalex]
Oh, the many conveniences of watching from home.lol Free movie, free snacks, comfortable position.happy Thanks for responding! [crazyoverpurple]

I went to see the new Batman movie a few days ago with a couple of friends and really enjoyed myself. That was the first movie I went to see in the theatre in several years. I can't even remember what the last movie I went to go see was. I collect movies on DVD, so I usually wait til the DVD comes out. I might start going to the theatre more, depending on what I'm going to see and whether or not I can get a friend to go. [dogsnme]
Thanks for responding!happy [crazyoverpurple]

It has been years since I went out to watch movies. I used to be a theatre addict before, going atleast three times a week. Now, with my busy schedules, I can't do that any more. Even on the TV, I could see movies only once in a while. I am more addicted to talk shows now. [greenline]

Yes i still enjoy watching movies in big screen thats why i still go out to see movies........ [Kingofthekings]

Hi there! I am not a big fan of watching movies in the cinema. And the main reason that pushed me away from it is that there are rarely good movies going on. I prefer to watch some alternative movies, rather than hollywood-made, and that's why it is hard to find something for me in the cinema. the last time i watched something was Wanted, because of Angie and many interesting actions going on. before that i cannot even remember the last time i went out to watch something on a big screen. besides, i enjoy watching cartoons in the cinema a lot, because they are always great. so i definitely enjoy all the comfort of watching movies at home, which you mentioned as well. [Scarrlet]

I haven't been out to a theatre since the first Harry Potter movie. I took my grandson to that, so that's probably why I went to see it. lol I don't enjoy sitting in theatres anymore. Everything is so expensive. The floors are usually sticky. It's too hot or too cold. I would much rather sit curled up in my recliner with a snack and watch movies with my family. I belong to NetFlix and we have On Demand movies, too. It doesn't take long for new movies to come on on DVD or on something like cable now. So you don't have to wait long to see them. [CherylsPearls]

I still go to cinemas to watch movies which are not out on DVD or on TV yet if i really want to watch one but otherwise no. [wwerules51]

yeah i always go out to the movies i like the whole movie theater expirence but i usualy go on a day where it is half price. But if it is a movie where i am not sure it is worth my money then i will just watch it online on my computer so incase the movie is bad i didnt loose any of my money in speding it on a bad movie. but yeah i usualy go to the theaters to go see a movie. [wadeys]

We do now, more than ever before because they just built and opened a new state of the art, digital HD (I think that is what it is) theater only about 3 miles down the road from my house. So, it is really easy to get to for us now. We used to have to travel through heavy traffic and a fairly long distance to get to the nicer theater. The closer (but still about 10 miles away) theater was always filthy and smelled bad and was just never worth going to because we always felt like we were bringing something back into our house after sitting there for an hour and a half. LOL! No, seriously. Lice, fleas...something. It would give us the creeps. Of course, we never did have any of that stuff but, it didn't stop us from feeling like we should be hosing off before even getting into our car after watching a movie in that theater. LOL! Ok...so now that I went off on that tangent...we have seen 3 movies in our new theater since it opened in either April or May. I forget when. Yea...bad memory! LOL! The first movie we saw in that new theater was The Happening. Next was Hancock and third was the new Batman movie last weekend. You could say we love the new theater. Great location. Nice and clean! We do still rent movies now and then and will record them from cable on our Tivo. But, we mostly had to do that since we would only see a movie in the theater once a year...if even that. On occasions, we would see may 2 or 3 movies in a theater each year. But, I would have to say our average, before the new theater, was one movie in a theater each year. [cortjo73]

Yeah, I like going and watching movies, if its something I can't wait to see. Most of the time, I'll wait for it to come out on dvd. I think thats why the theater prices are going up, everybody's downloading movies, blue ray discs, hd movies, and its alot easier staying at home and ordering them on your tv. But I still like to get out and watch it in a theater... [walijo2008]

Hello! Yes, I still do go out to watch movies in the theaters! There is nothing like watching your movie in the Cinema room, the quality of sound is really amazing, and you have a real big screen. The smell of the popcorn with the soda right next to you, it's really amazing. It is way better than watching movies from my home, at least. Here, we just sit in the sofa and start watching it. Then we pause to eat something or to go to the bathroom, go back and keep watching. It isn't the same thing as doing it IN the theaters. Respectfully, Munhozmib. [munhozmib]

Yes i do and love too but this what i am about to talk about may stray from the topic just a little bit or well maybe a whole lot but i must say that mylot is a really happynice websitethey have a really good concept going on here at mylot it is just so cool for you or anyone to use and the really good thing about mylot islolis you get too have tons of fun at this wonderful site and on top of all of that we get to earn some extra cash while we have lots of fun and getting and giving some nice information and advice for all of us hey at mylot who enjoy mylotting and just having a great time on this site so i think we all have found a really great site here and a lotof people are looking for a nice place to have fun on the internet but i think that since we are using mylot already then we have already found a really nice site which is totally awesome for us to use, and we also have another great bonus on this site is we get to make lots and lots of really cool friends as well, anyway guys just wanted to say that and continue and have a good time using the totally awesome site called mylot. [ChrisH09]

I still go out to the theater. I like the dark environment and atmosphere; it really allows comfort, and focus on the movie. (although of course I don't waste money on the extremely overpriced unhealthy theater food) It's just something fun to do with your friends. Most of the time, honestly, I don't even pay; I just sneak right in or manage to get myself a free ticket. $11 for two hours of entertainment is a bit much, anyway. [hachimitsu]

Havent done it for quite sometime. I prefer watching movies on DVD player. I wonder why theater owners could not adjust their prices.wink [WATARIKENJI]

When I was in college I really enjoy watching movies with my friends, but now I was already married with 5 kids i rather to stay at home watching movies. We buy some Dvds and download movies in the internet. [LaurenceCruz]

Yes, i do go out to the movies...i love goin out with my boyfriend (of course i dont pay so its free for me wink) lol. But popping in a rented movie is also good cozing up on the couch, or just go to my fave site and just watch a movie there that is in the Theaterswinkwink [Lxandra79]

I might go to a movie house once a year. The cost is high and then there is the popcorn, drinl and icecream so that adds up to about double . So an outing to the theatre is costly. HICCUP/ [hiccup]

I have been to quite a number of movies this year. I have to say that I really enjoy going to theaters, for one thing, I don't have a large screen TV. I also get out of the house for a while, so that also works for me [ElicBxn]

I do. It is a relaxation activity for me. And mostly a bonding activity with my family or my bestfriend and other friends. I watch movies as part of our shopping, walking around the mall or simply killing time. It also serves as an ice breaker from many tasks I am doing everyday. [izathewzia]

This question has a good timing. I just watched Batman - Dark Knight last night. We caught the last full show. It was my first time I watched a movie since I started collected DVD's back in the Philippines. I have purchased hundreds of DVD', a combination of pirated and originals. I only buy originals when it is on sale and they are more often than not on sale (which is the only thing I can afford lol) It was very nice to go out again and watch a movie in a big screen and awesome sound. I am glad my cousin took me out. It was great.happy [Muelitz]

Dear friend, I do like to watch good and more sound effective movies in theatre and also I do get much of the real beauty of watching a movie from theatres. I also enjoy those big screen and more the some the best sound effects and technical arrangements done in that theater if it is well. But I also watch movies at home that too if time permits. Mostly I go to watch movies in theater to have some mental relaxation. As home as you we can have our own privacy and have any according to our wish within those limitation. But I hope while watching in theater in our I could concentration in watching movies only.happy [SHAMRACK]

I don't go out to movies that often but in the last month I have been twice to the movies. I saw the new Indiana Jones and WALL-E. Would like to go see the new X-files movie but not sure when I can go. We have HBO and video on demand so it is easier(and cheaper) than renting or going to the movies. We will go to Blockbuster maybe once a month or less. I have never personally downloaded a movie from the internet. I know you can purchase movies on the i-tunes, my son has done this. I don't buy many DVD's, I might buy if the price is right. [ryzach]

the last time i watched a movie on big screen is the 'resident evil: extinction' im with my friends that time. i think if im not mistaken, that's around october 2007 hahaha.. that's quite long isn't it lol anywayz, i dont go out just to watch movies, ill just buy pirated dvd's coz it's cheaper, we can play it over & over again, we can paused it, & i can watch that movie together with my family without paying that much hahaha.. [jinxky]

I still go to the theaters alot, especially if I really want to see the movie when it first comes out. Other times, I wait for it to come out on DVD. Have a wonderful night! [Kellyann627]

I rarely watch movies in movie houses.. aside from busy schedules, I find it cheaper to buy or rent DVD's instead so we, as a family can watch.. or sometimes, I just wait for it to be uploaded in the internet... but if i were to watch movies in cinemas, I would prefer to watch Filipino movies so somehow I could help the entertainment industry.. most holliwood movies I watched, I just waited them to be in DVDs and some I watched in the net.. [purplehyacinth]

I ofen go to theatre to watch move with my friends. To my way of thinking, watch moves at the cinema is really an enjoyment, becausr it with lots of atmosphere. [garry52]

Befor new technology I was using to go to theatre usually, Now there are TV, Computer and DVD Players, so We watch movies etc on it, so we rerely go to theatre, though the attrection of wide screen is there, so sometimes I go to see movies there, you know there is dolby sounds and 3D effects are attrecting us, so theatre is theatre !! even "Drive in" is also one passion. Though If I would have large TV Screen, theatre will have even less importance !! [Omniusual80]

i dont like to go out to watch movies,i dont know why,it is amazing. [dawnyp]

Watching Movie in the theatre is a great experience. Watching at home does not come any where near it. But because of my busy schedule i do not go much to theatre these days. But i still watch 2-3 movies in a month. [lovelydame3000]

My son and I go quite a lot actually, mostly to children's movies. It's another thing for us to do together when we have got nothing else to do. We also have Starz movies on our cable channel and often watch movies for free. Most of the time their older ones though but still fun to watch. [maddysmommy]

Good day...If the movie deserves to be watch in a wide screen with great sound effects that warrants full theater audio, why not? It's stil one of the cheapest form of entertainment. [blackmantra_x]

I still love to watch movie in theatre , I dont know why but I feel good going theater and watching movie atleast monthly once. If we go to nice theatre we can enjoy nicely with our family and also can spend some time for shopping eating something but we have to go as a family or friends. [AshleyHasan]

My hubby and really love watching movie, we always do a TV marathon as our past time, we used to buy or rented a dvd/cd copy. We only go out to watch once ot twice in a month as our bonding moment. Thanks and have good day! [anndocs]

I still go to the cinema to watch the movies because in my opinion it is not the same as watching dvd at home.I enjoy going to the cinema. In two weeks I have seen two films. One of them is Meet Dave Eddy Murphy's film and the other one is "Mamma Mia.I enjoyed both films since both of them was fun and entertaining. They were worth watching. [meltem28]

I like to stay at home with DVD or just before pc to watch movies directly Don't like to waste money to go out for a movie it is comfortable for me to watch a movie at home with ice cream, or apple or other delicious food I could get, hehehe.... [aphroditely]

i do not think i have the time or money to spare to go out and watch movies. just watch the tv programs. [tomkite]

I seldom watch movies in theatre. I only watch movie when a friend would treat me out!!! We usually download them from the internet. Sometimes we buy DVD and the whole family would watch it together at home! Watching movies in the theatre is just very expensive. We are a big family of 7 children. Plus my mom and dad, that makes us all 9 in the family. And when you go out to watch a movie, you will also have to dine out together, it's just too much expenses!! We rather watch it at home, and buy chips and drinks, that way it's more comfortable and we don't have to spend much! [austere]

I don't have a fancy home theater system at home, a nice tv it is but it would not compared to the movies with the surround sound and huge picture. I go to the movies to watch movies with usually a high tech effects in it, a colossal movie or you know, those visual effects, which would be better if you watch with great sound and video. Other movies like horror, drama, and things like that, I prefer to buy the dvds and watch them at home. Happy mylotting and have a nice day! [ucancallmedissy]

no I don't I rather stay home and watch a movie but that would be a good thing to go do as a date for my husband and I. [mflower2053]

Hmmmm somehow i am not FOND to go out to watch movies, i never been to cinema when all such Stuuf was not available We used to have VCR at home and can get cassette to watch Movie at TV. now we have Cable, Computerm,DVD players so wjhu i will go out now and other thing, i am not much into movies as well Take care [cupid74]

I still go to movies if the film have more action and special effects. Because you know with the wider screen and sound effects in the theater it is very different, and I enjoyed that. Also if watching comedy, it will be funnier if you have a lot of people laughing together isn't it? [xsquid]

There are not much good movies these days that is worth my money to be watch in a cinema. So I only go to movie if I heard excellent reviews about it. For example, the recent movie Batman must be watch in the cinema due to the sound effects, action and the plot of the story. I never buy DVD cause I don't have the physical space to accommodate the DVDs and also because it means spending on extra. I rather download the movies as this is what I pay for the internet, so I will make the most of internet. Cheers' [snoopy88]

i do watch movies that were downloaded by my son..but sometimes there are some movies which i think good to be seen in big screen rather than that in the tube..and besides i like the feeling on going out together with the spouse or family.. [vanities]

Yes I love going out to the cinema. I can get popcorn and it's fun to get out of the house sometimes and movies can be a lot better on the big screen. This week we went to see Mama Mia at the cinema and the cinema was packed. Everyone was laughing and so it was a great experience. You would not be able to get the same feeling if you just waited and then got the DVD to watch at home. [winewhisky]

nope, we dont go out to watch movies anymore. we just buy a pirated dvd movies or we just see videos in youtube.. [kayeshayne21]

well i prefer to watch movies only in theaters>>> [SHAKIL007]

We absolutely rent dvds, but to us, there is nothing like going to see a good movie in a crowded theater. The energy of the audience makes it a great experience. My son and I have movies that we look forward to coming out in the theaters that we call "opening night movies". These are the ones that will surely be busy and I often will buy tickets a few days ahead of time. It's exciting (also a pain lol) to have to get there early to make sure you get a good seat and then to finally be able to see this movie that we have been looking forward to with so many other people in the theater. Examples are the Harry Potter movies, Spiderman, Batman, etc. It's just so much fun. Waiting until they come out on DVD and watching those kinds of movies at home is nowhere near the thrill we get from seeing it opening night in a crowded theater. [reshadar]

i wish one day i could have courage to go back to see movies.i need motivation. [xialinye]

Yes. I am still fond of going out to watch movies, either with my family or friends. Although with the rising costs of just about everything, we pick out which movies to watch. We only go to the cinema theater to see the ones we really like. It's like the saying "worth the money." If it's not worth watching, or due to some other constraints, we'll just wait for it to come out on video then. Better yet, we'll wait for it to be shown on HBO or other movie cable channel. That works for us :-) [MariaD]

Hi there ! It's quite true that movies are now available all over the place and you can virtually watch them whenever you want to ; in a computer , in a DVD player or whatever . You don't have to stand in a queue for long hours or even wait for a week or fortnight to watch it in the nearby multiplex . But the romance and excitement of watching a movie is gone and it's gone for ever . I believe nothing can match watching a movie in a 70 mm screen with your friends or fiance . I still manage to find time to watch movies occasionally in a theatre with my friends and I do enjoy every moment of it . Truly . Bye . [sodraja]

Yeah, even if I have things to use for home theater, I would still choose to watch good movies on wide screens. And that's what I do whenever I want to date my wife, watch a good movie. [jaypeemanuel]

Yes I still go and recently have seen Batman and Incredible Hulk...if the movie is so and so I watch it online from one of the many free movies site [gtdonna]

hi friend, i like to go to theatre for watch action movies with my group of friends. In that theatre we are enjoy ourself. take care have a nice day. [vimaal]

I love going out for the movies.. watching a movie at home is no match for the theatres! But i hardly get any time nowadays so tend to watch movies rented out or on the tv , and most of them i catch in several parts as i wont be able to get through them in one day! [dhevasena]

i have not been to the movies in months. i found a site that shows all the new movies as they r released. it is great. [c2k2008]

I still enjoy going out to the movies. Even though I know I can watch it at home and even have a theater experience, I enjoy the fact that there are no interruptions like the telephone ringing, or someone at the door, etc. It's also a nice way to get out and have a "date" with my husband without the kids. Additionally, if its an R rating or something, I don't want to take the kids, sometimes we will stay in, but it has to be a movie that has a rating acceptable for the kids to watch as well. Have a great day! [di1159]

No!I haven't gone in movie theaters 1 year ago.And its not getting me sick.Besides i got many dvd's and i got to dowload movies in my pc too.As a busy person i could'nt find time to go out and watch movies.I just spend my time at home with my daughter watching movies here. Some of the new movies that haven't been played in the theaters now,you won't believe that i've just watched them in advance. So idid'nt have to go out. It's really advance nowadays!!! [funtasticsakura]

With the information technology developed,I prefer download from the internet to go to theater. It is more convenient to watch film in home.what is more, there are many film, including the latest film, which you download without paying anymoney! At the sametime,we can buy some dvds, they are also cheaper than the tickets!!However,If a nice movie, which you cannot download from the internet, are showed in the theater.we still go to the theater to feel the particular atmosphere! [bettermanly]

Sad to tell this, because movie tickets now are very expensive. I rather buy a DVD so the whole family can watch it. [anastacia22]

Very seldom nowadays. When I was single I used to watch movies very often. But since I am a working mom, my focus now is my family. Doing household chores, spending quality time with my son and hubby. If we'd like to watch movies, we buy dvd and we watch it at home. More practical, isn't it? [marcroswell]

the truth is, the selling of the dvd and the piracy of it has hurt the movie industry so badly. just imagine, with the price of one movies, you can buy 4 clear dvd, and still come with change. however, yes i still go watch movies. i go with my friends. it is not really because of the movie that i want to watch. those high action adventure effects can be watched at home with the home theater system, but the time with friends and the joy of spending time with them, and eating out after the movie are really the main reasons why i watch movies. however, if there are movies that i wanna watch, i just watch them thru dvd at home, at the convenience of my time. [globaldoc2001]

We will go to watch a movie if it is that outstanding and also it is on a special time like a birthday. And if someone gives us a free movie pass, we will go. Now it is my husband's turn to select the movie we go to when it is his birthday. Mind you he always selected them, but if I do not like the movie, I will suggest a different. We prefer to watch movies at home, we got a high def DVd - yup, we were the kind that thought Beta would win - and we will be getting the Blueray probably around Christmas. And at home we do not have to be squashed in those little seats. [suspenseful]

Hi crazyoverpurple. Yes, I still enjoy going to the movie theater. I like the whole movie theater thing--the popcorn, the seats, the big, dark theater, the gigantic movie screen. We don't go all the often, but, if it was up to me, we would. We get Netflix at home and that's fun, too. but it's not like settling into a movie theater for a big screen movie. Take care. [PearlGrace]

I go out to watch the movies maybe once or twice a year. It is a real treat to go to the moveis. They are just so expensive. I try to wait for the to come out on dvd, then I wait for my dad to buy them and I borrow from him. Sad but true, It is so hard to survive these days. [paisleylass]

I *like* to go to the movies, but we don't go due to cost. We've actually gone to see 2 movies this summer but ONLY because I had some free movie tickets to use. Even then the cost of getting drinks & goodies inside is outrageous. So, I have to go knowing that we can't buy anything during the movie, which is hard if we take the kids. We don't even pay to rent movies. We've found that the public library has a decent selection of movies for us, since we're so far behind on them anyway. So, we just check them out for free there. [renitaperrone]

it really has to be an extra special movie for me to pay the outrageous ticket prices that theaters now charge. i'd rather see it in a theater than try to download a bootleg b/c bootlegs are often really poor in quality. i downloaded the new indiana jones when it first came out only to be extremely pissed that in certain parts of the movie the picture was too dark for me to see what was happening. in the end i just went to the theater anyway. most of the time, i'd rather just wait for the dvd release so i don't have to risk sitting in a theater full of people who are either talking too much or decided to bring their crying children to a movie they shouldn't even be watching. i like having the ability to pause the movie when i have to use the restroom rather than having to hold it for an hour like i did at the Dark Knight last night because i was afraid of missing something important. [skallagrim]

Nothing, even home theater, can come close to the original movie experience. Nowadays the sound systems in movie houses are so awesome. Also I don't think that some of the big scenes, like in Titanic, or in movies with ocean or mountain scenes can even begin to match their showing on a full size screen. Flat screen and high def and home theatre sound may come close, but they just don't quite make it all the way. [kbkbooks]

I still go out to watch movies. Nothing can match the big screen and the sound in the cinemas. Although this could be possible if we had our own mini-movie house at home. Still, I enjoy the feeling when I watch on movie theaters. Especially hardcore action movies, sci-fi and suspense thrillers. [selece]

Hello crazyoverpurple Ji, Well, truely speaking I do not get that much time, also I have my 15 months old daughter, whom I do not want to give exposure, so I limit myself with seeing movies on installment , whatevr is aired on TV. have a great day.rasp [shalu1975]

I prefer renting DVDs. It's more convenient watching them that way, although I do have to wait a bit longer for them to come out on DVD - but I don't mind. I don't even know how much a ticket costs nowadays, but the closest theater is still 20 minutes away, so it'll cost that much more for gas. I've only seen movies in the theaters twice in the last 8 years. My mall even got a new theater and I haven't even seen it because it's been so long. [goodnightmoon]

Yes myself and my husband go to the cinema now at least twice a wekk but sometimes more as we now have a card that we pay a set amount per month for and then we can go as many times as we want! So we go a lot! lol [frankiecesca]

My boyfriend and I don't go to a theater to watch movies, but we do like to check out what is playing at the drive ins. We get two movies for the price of one. Sometimes they're good movies other times not so great but that's ok. If there is a specific one in the theaters in the off season we'll go see it, but otherwise we will rent it from netflix. [soulist]

I'm going to the movies this evening, i'm going to watch The Mummy 3. Have a beautiful day!! [Jody20]

Even before all this I didn't go out to watch movies that much because somehow I always come out with a headache. I am not really sure why, but I have decided that I'd rather wait a bit and enjoy a good movie without headache:) Nowadays it's even better since we really don't have to wait that much and we can always find the movie we want to watch and rent it. Plus at home it's so much more comfortable. I can sit on the sofa, lay my head down on hubby's lap, enjoy a drink or a snack without needing to get a second mortgage in my house - with the prices they have in the movie theaters - and we can all make an evening of it :) [arkaf61]

Hello crazyover purple, that is a good question. I don't actually go out that much to see the movies, which is a pity as I used to enjoy it a lot. The last film I saw in the cinema was Perfume, which was such a terrible disappointment that I didn't really feel like going to the cinema again. I thought The Lord of The Rings films were good in the cinema as they are made for the big screen, but maybe it's just that there are no films at the moment, where people I know are saying - we have to go and see that. Have a god weekend. UMart [umart13]

Hello crazyover purple, I think I am getting to the phase where most of my friends have families and they feel that going to the cinema is just for teenage kids, so I don't get to go to the cinema as often as I did. Most people just want to go eating and drinking and talking. Also the last two films I remember seeing in the cinema were Perfume and Clint Eastwood's Iwo Jima, neither of which would make you want to go to the cinema again. Have a good weekend. Umart [umart13]

hey.. You know very well how much a movie costs in our country these days..and i think it's not worth it if you're just gonna watch a so-so movie..I would rather buy a DVD and watch it at home.. But, since I have a son who loves watching movies in a cinema, we only pick those that we would enjoy watching on a really big screen. Like Superman, Spiderman and Xmen..My son likes it so much when the sounds are in full blast and one that he can see the action even in the corners of his eyes...lol More expensive if he ask to watch movies on I-Max!! Of course, he can't go alone because he's just 9 years old, so someone should accompany him, and that would cost double.. We have a home theater but it doesnt satisfy him. He want's the biggest screen! Overall, i guess, if the movie is really great and would be much better viewed in the cinema, we'll watch it there..happy [eihdra]

hi crazyoverpurple! happy yup. i love watching movies and i go out a lot with friends to watch the latest movies on the big screen. the latest movie i saw was Hellboy II. i also watch movies on dvds at home and also in the internet. however, the movies i watch on dvds would usually be romantic comedies, love stories, those movies that don't have much special effects and action. i prefer to watch action and adventure movies in the big screen so i can appreciate more the special effects. and then, the movies i watch in the internet are usually those old movies that are now hard to find, or i just don't have the time to look for it in stores. ^__^;; but its really better to watch movies on the big screen. if i have the money and time, i prefer to watch a movie i like on cinemas. happy [secretbear]

I still watch movies at movie houses. It's a different experience watching on a wide screen, dark cinema, dolby surround sounds, etc. I'm also watching DVDs at home and at the internet but it has a different environment than at the movie house... But now a days, I don't have time to watch movies in the house or at the movie houses. And I miss it already!!!! [anne12d]

I'm so sorry for coming in so late. I don't like to watch movies in theater any more. I like it on DVD, which is is comfortable, economical and time saving. [suruchi86]

Hi crazy, yes. It's when the movie is really intriguing, or seems fun, or just makes you plain curious. Another reason is to also hang out with your friends, or special someone. It's not always about the movie but the time spent together. Third reason is when the movie is nice enough you can't wait for it to come out in DVDs, genuine or pirated. [Theresaaiza]

I still love going to e movies. But with the economic crisis going on, I usually go to the movies once in every two - three months, or if I really really like the movie, I watch it in the cinema. But when Im not drooling over the movie, I just watch them at home by watching DVD's or by browsing the internet where downloadable movies or free viewing is available. It is also much cheaper to watch at home since there is food available upon your reach, unlike in the cinemas where food is expensive. [JOIEMARVIC]
