I can't tell you the last movie I saw in a theater. And actually from what I hear most are not worth the price lately. So now if I ever get the urge I ask people what they thoguht of a movie before I might consider dropping that dough on it.
Do you go to the movies alot? Or have you cut back?

I was going to movie theater a lot but now i became a member of netflix, and actually to be honest with you i prefer to watch movies at comfort of my house. So i only go to theater once a month and that's it. But some movies should be seen in the movie theater. Have a good day! [zabawaus]
I have cut back on watching movies in theaters especially nowadays that you could actually watch a movie for free in the internet and there's so many means to watch like through DVD players and stuff. I only watch in theaters if the movie is so good and really worth it considering that the tickets were a bit pricey now and if my friends and I were on the mall and we're celebrating like on birthdays and occasions like that. [the_dutchess]
Yeah I dont go to the movies that often anymore. Mainly because its so expensive not just the movie but the food I usally end up spending more then $30 when I go to the movies. I go most during the summer maybe once or twice a month. During the winter I hardly go. [arcidy]
i rarely go to the movie theater anymore either. the last time i went, i went on a date night with my husband on our anniversary last year, and we saw "dan in real life". that movie was worth the 8 something that we paid. infact we ended up buying it because it was so good, and it was kind of a memory from our date. yeah i agree the movies that they come out with anymore just dont seem worth the money you would pay to go see them. when you can wait a few months until it comes out and then rent it for half the price, and not have to deal with the sticky floors and high snack prices lol. we don't even really rent movies anymore. eventually they come on tv, so we just watch them then. and now, recently they put a movie box in at our walmart, and it has movies in there for a dollar... you use your credit/debit card, and it charges you a dollar every day until you take it back, and if at like 15-20 you don't take it back, the movie is automatically yours. can't beat that i guess. now if it's a movie i just HAVE to see, i will find a way to get there and see it, but other than that i just wait. :) [kbmsaylor]
The movies in the theater are so expensive it's crazy. The only way I've been going to the movies is if I have a gift card. [Shar19]
A few years ago I used to spend a lot of time hanging out with my ex girlfriend. I always felt awkward having her over my place or going to her place, so we'd meet on mutual ground a lot. So we'd see a lot of movies. I was going to the movies about three times a month back then... seeing pretty much everything that was released. These days I rarely ever go. My current girlfriend got jealous of me spending time with my ex, so I don't see her anymore. My current girlfriend and I go to the movies when we're together, but it's long distance, so it's not that often. I'm also trying to save money.... so I go see a movie maybe once every six months or less. [Downunder_dude]
When I was a kid my family went to the theater almost every weekend, sometimes it was two weeks between trips but we went a lot. In that I learned to appreciate that some movies are just not worth the money. The reason for going to see a movie in the theater, for me, is the big screen and super sound system. If it's not a movie with a lot of effects or whatever that lose some of their effect on a television, then I'm more likely to pay the $10 to see it in the theater. There are always exceptions, if it is something that I really want to see and don't want to wait for the DVD (most recent examples are Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, Twilight and Slumdog Millionaire). But something like the Watchmen, I can't wait to see on the big screen with the sound system (I was busy last weekend and didn't get a chance to go thumbdown). It's not as much a money thing, although it was much easier to validate going to the theater when a matinee ticket was $4 instead of $7.50 and a nighttime ticket was $6.50 instead of $10 but now it's all about the effect of the film. How will seeing it in the theater be different than waiting to see it at home on the TV? WILL seeing it in the theater be different than waiting to see it at home on the TV? [crimsonladybug]
Watching in cinemas right now is a bit pricey so I shift in buying dvd's instead and watch it at home. Its much cheaper plus you have the chance to watch it over and over again. [bluishrose]
I used watch movies in cinemas two to three times a week when I was younger. It was not that expensive then. I love watching movies and if I can have it my way, I would watch at least once a week. But my boyfriend, now my husband, is not much of a cinema goer. So we only go to cinemas when there is a movie showing that he would like to watch. Sometimes, if I ask nicely, he would go with me. But I would be lucky if that happens once in a month. Lol! Sigh. Have a nice day! happy [Rainegurl]
hello. i think i have a long time not go the theater . perhaps 5 years or longer. the price of the ticket is too high and i think it's more convenient to watch some at home. i do not like to go there anymore. good luck. [celebratelifeh]
I go to the dollar theater, sure the floor is a bit stickier and people don't obey all the rules but a crappy movie is still only $1.25, it sucks worse when you pay $9.00 bucks for it. [gitfiddleplayer]
I got a site where i download free movies so i hardly ever go to the movies. I went to the movies 1 time last year with my girl friend thats it lol. No need to pay for me. I even sold a couple. [cptlo1]
i dont go at all to the movies now since the prices just to go to one have gotten so ridiculous i think someone told me that it cost 10.00 just to get into one at our cinema center near where i live and that is atrocious to me why would you pay that much i mean that about half the cost of a dvd when the movie comes out or you can buy the movie on ppv for 5.00 so why would you waste the money i would rather watch at home the popcorn is cheaper and i never really cared for the big crowds when the movies let out. [timhinyy]
Yes, i don't watch movies in theaters often, if i want a movie, i just go and buy a new CD from the store and watch it. Actually, i have not cut back, myself i don't consider to watch movies mostly in theaters [sajidsageer]
sadi dont watch in cinema often. I only like to go there when my friends are available for get-together cinema party. Yea, thats what i call it, more than 10 of us will go to cinema and scream and laugh and enjoy 1 movie plus timezone games after. Thats a lot of fun.lol But this time, most of us are cutting our own expenses. Some would just go home and enjoy watching movies in dvd, some just surf the net for free movies. I dont go out that much now, i think i am more worried about how can i save for the future. happy mylotting!, hugs to all [iamsolucky]
The last movie I saw in a theater was "Wild Hogs" in 2007. I rarely ever go to the cinema, mainly due to my anxiety around crowds (especially children.) The few times I've gone in the past, I tried to limit myself to PG-13 or R-rated movies and went to late showings. Since I lost one of my jobs late last year, I rely on my cable and DVD collection for movies and other entertainment. At least I don't have to pay an outrageous amount for popcorn and candy! [jtr115]
I only choose the movies I watch at the theater because most are truly not worth my money. It is expensive now to watch in the cinema. Unless it is a must see for me, like Harry Potter series, Batman and Spiderman, this is the only time I watch a movie. All others, I just wait for the dvd to be available. [bubbletush]
I think it's more comfortable at home than in the cinema. The price of tickets is much high for me. [gxyywhyzy]
I used to go to the movies all the time, then I realized how much money I was blowing on them! Yeeks! So, then I started going to the drive in and they had all the same movies but you got a double feature. But, that was so far away I didn't end up making it home until really late. The town I used to live in had free drive in during the summer but it was too hot last summer for me to bring a baby out in the heat. I don't even rent movies anymore because I always ended up driving up late fines on them I couldn't repay. Now I just go and pick out a couple of 5 dollar movies at Walmart once a month because then I can watch them over and over again and it ends up being cheaper in the long run. Haha. [dismalgrin]
I am a movie buff also and i too have not gone to see a movie in the theatre since quite a long time now reason being the excessively high price of tickets and usually its not worth spending so much of money on a film unless and untill the movie is too good and should be enjoyed in a theatre only i usually watch the movies on dvd.. [iminawaz]
I rarely go due to the cost now a days to spend on tickets and snacks and drinks. Last movie I went to see was Getting Smart just a few months ago. If I can't see it at the movies I watch it sometimes online and other times I wait for the movie to get to dvd so i can rent it. Also there are a lot of stupid or horrible movies coming out now a days and that is another reason i don't go to theaters. [lizzyt2007]
Well I am just the opposite. I watch a movie in the theatre every week, Irrespective of how the movie is. Most of the money which I get from giving tutions, are spent in the process and at the end of the month, I have little and no money left. Bad habbit na??? Suggest me a solution!! [angel2009]
movies these days r not worth paying . tickets of multiplexs r very high & quality of moive is not so good so i dont watch much movies in theater [nirjaagrey]
The last movie I saw in a theater is Transformers.I can tell you that I feel a little disappointment, and I think it is not worth of the price I paid. This happened last year,so I haven't gone to the movies for a long time.At presents,I often see films with my computer or TV set.Although my computer is not suitable to show the movie,I'm not willing to pay so much money for a film. [Jimbai]
the last time i went to the theater maybe several years ago,i can not remember exactly.but now ,when i take a very short break ,i can enjoy a film on internet, it's comfortable. [lingzi]
I don't go to the movies alot. I am trying to save money so I wait for it to come out on DVD and rent it from the video store. The theatres do charge alot for their snacks too. [chunijole]
I haven't been to any cinema for at least 10 years. I just don't want to spend that large amount of money in a stinky place.I have satelite tv and a computer, so I see all the movies in the comfort of my own home.. [Marleysa]
Yes. I very seldom visit the movie theater. It is quite expensive. And there are lots of pirated DVDs out there that wouldn't gonna cost me as that with going to a movie theater. hehe. Just being practical. But sometimes I still go watch a movie in a theater. But that's if the movie is really a good one. [xiaouie15]
I do not go to the movies much anymore. I probably have been to two in the last year. It just costs too much. Our local library has movie night once a month and you can go there and watch a recent movie free! Since our local video store went out of business I have not even rented a movie lately. I see our local WalMart has put in a machine that you can rent movies for .99. I may try that sometime. Best wishes! [bmorehouse1]
Hi, taface412! I have cut back. I used to go about 10 years ago... I have not been to the movies in a very long time. I think that last time was in 1999 or 2000. I would like to go. But, I don't like spending so much money trying to catch all of the good movies when they come to the theatres. I will just wait for it to come on T.V. or I will just get it on DVD. I used to go to the movies a lot, but I no longer go.sad [cream97]
I've not been going to the movies since ages; prices are outrageous and you have to fight cell phones, coke spinning around everywhere, parents (and I blame them)with small kids during the late shows getting up so many times or because kids are scared (don't little kids go to bed early anymore?). Watching a movie is not an experience worth the ticket; I tried late shows, early shows and it's all the same crap especially with the cell phones (is everybody a surgeon on call?). I agree the experience at the theatre is better but between the prices and the rudeness of some audience I don't enjoy it any more and I miss it. [elenaccia]
Yes because its too bloody expensive. [brooxy10985]
Yes I do watch less movies in the theater now. I just watch at home through a DVD, or downloaded flicks from the internet or from the cable channels. I just watch starstudded and big budgeted movies in cinema nowadays. [brew2x]
I watch movies in theaters a lot like two years ago hahaha. I don't have anyone to accompany me to a movie theater since my sister flew out of the country, I never went to any anymore. And there are very few movies nowadays that are great to see, so, I just watch movies online lol... plus tickets are getting expensive in theaters so I opted to watch new releases online instead of going there. =P [kissieme]
I never went to the movies a lot before. I think the prices of movie tickets are outrageous and I think the prices for food and drinks at theatres are also way too high. I don't like spending all of that money to spend two hours of my time at the movies when I probably won't like the movie. I'd rather try to watch the movie online for free or something. At least then I'm not wasting my money on a movie that probably isn't too great. [highflyingxangel]
If I look at myself two years earlier I can say, that then I was a big movie theater people, but for now I mostly prefer just sitting home and downloading movies I like, not paying for them at movie theater. But there are also some movies, that I can't watch at home, because I like the atmosphere in movie theater, so once a month I like to go there. ;) [Latvian_girl]
We never go to the movies. We watch movies on TV or I get them from the library for free. I like watching them at home. More relaxing and you can pause them if you need to. The snacks are cheaper too lol. [lilcee]
I believe the last movie I saw at the theater was Ghost Rider and you know that has been a while. Then why waste a lot of money going to the theater when they have cable on demand? With cable on demand new releases come out all the time ; you can either rent the new releases or get the older ones for free. So that's what I do. [jendevo]
When I was in the Navy and had a steady paycheck coming in (even though it was a SMALL arse paycheck) my friends and I would choose the first day after payday that NONE of us had to stand duty, and we'd go to Applebees for dinner then to see a movie in the theater. It was nice. Now that I live in California again, and the price for a movie is $8.50 I don't go to the theater much. I haven't been in almost a year I think, well not here in CA. When I was in texas for a few month, I went to the movie theater every paycheck because it only cost $5. If I had a CAR I would go the the DRIVE IN that is about 15 minutes away by car and watch a movie there because it costs $6.50 per person and in a car you can control the volume, dring your own snacks, AND there are no noicsy patrons to deal with. [Sherrypeck19825]
The last one I saw in the theater was "Journey To The center Of The earth" [Sherrypeck19825]
