I am fond of watching english movies, but if given a chance I do want to see french and Italian movies. They are rich in culture! And one day I got chance, its french movie festival in my town and I got to see all, they were all free of cost!

Hi, i am from Europe so, i know what you mean, European movies are full of culture, not just commercial, in special, French, Italian English movies are great, i can see all the time this kind of movies, even to tv, american movies are in top, because are commercial movies, are so many really, and this movies have all what the young generation want...guns, fights, sex, a nice life, money...you right, European movies are something else, maybe for this are not in top. In the past few years I have started watching more foreign language films. I enjoy watching Asian as well as European films. I did not think I would like reading subtitles but after a while I was used to it. I cannot believe I was limiting myself so movies from the United States for most of my life. I was missing out on some great films. I still have a long list of films I want to see too. Not only have I seen some great films, but I have learned a lot about other cultures and religions. That in itself is valuable. [lulu1220]

As long as there's English subtitle to compliment a good foreign movie... Yeah I do watch it! I have watched Hindi Movies, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Spanish, Portugese, All with english subtitle... Cidade de Deus is one of this foreign movie I have wacthed... That even w/out the subs... I honestly felt the story & understood it... One of the best Braizilian Movie! [imacRuel1]

Yes,I watch english movies sometimes.I am a Chinese and you know Chinese is my mother language, though it was not so easy for me to follow the movies in English Version, while I do like it,since in my mind, watching english movies is one of the best way to learn english as well as the culture of the nation. [everygreen]

I do watch international shows. Of course there has to be subtitles for me to understand the whole movie and dialogue.LOL But the language for me isnt really an issue as long as the movie is well made or at least has interested me enough to watch it. [bjcyrix]

I like foreign films, if they're something I'm interested in. I watch a lot of Japanese and Korean films, as well as the occasional French, Italian, etc. I always watch with subtitles because I can't stand dubbing. [mithrril]

Yes,I have watched indian movie's, chinese movies and many others. The only memorable French movie I can remember is Guillermo Del Toro's PAN'S LABYRINTH. can learn about french folk stories and NAZI's. [stephenstreets]

I am fond of watching hindi movies.tamil movies........... [nimzia]

All the time.... since English isn't my first language .... Since movies here in Sweden gets subtitles it's not hard to watch. I'm not that found of French or Italian movies since they (along with most Nordic movies) are so depressing *lol* Even the comedy ones tend to be a bit dark, I guess it's the way of making movies here. I love all Swedish and Englich crime movies - I haven't found anything like them from US. [mammamuh]

I've watched a couple of Chinese films. The big problem for me with foreign language films is that they're, well, in a foreign language. As I don't speak any other language well enough to watch a film in it, that means subtitles, and you've got to remember to keep watching the screen. Glance away, and you can miss what's been said. [egdcltd]

Yes, I often watch movies in foreign languages.I don't need subtitles only for English,Russian and Italian movies.I watch Indian,Japanese and Spanish movies sometimes.I enjoyed "Dolls" by Japanese director Takeshi Kitano.Spanish movie "Hable con ella" by Pedro Almodovar was something I've never seen before.I'm always looking for something original, exciting, meaningful, deep when it comes to foreign movies. [silvercoin]

I watch japanese Movies a lot. Not only Movies but also TV series because somehow they have that kind of culture aspects I like and miss sometimes in the movies of my own courtries. It's a huge difference and I would also say the opposite. German Movies are so boring to me and I don't really like the american style either..so I prefer watching asian ones. :) [docipain]

Yes I do watch movies of other languages. I find they bring a whole new perspective to what film is really about, and that is diversity and multiple points of view. The types of films that I have gotten the most reward from watching are French films. They are so vastly different than most English films and may take some time to get used to, but they are beautiful in that and their own way. [KSmith005]

Hello dhawanbm , I am from the USA and I like to watch foreign films. I don't mind sub titles at all. I have watched movies from France ( I took 5 years of French in school) but I am particular to Hindi /Bollywood movies. Love the storylines and one certain actor . [ds6413]

I like watching films from India. They are fun and entertaining. [sarahruthbeth22]

Yes, sometimes with subtiles for sure, because I cannot understand all! Surely, IM french so in general I listen movie in french but I do love listen in english too. It's practice my english in same time haha!happy [julie85]

I am a Chinese but I don't often see a Chinese movie.I like to see English movies especially Hollywood movies. And I also like to watch French movies.Although I know the foreign language movies contain a lot of culture,I still love watching.Maybe it's a way to learn more about the foreign countries. The different culture broaden my view. [liuchen63]

Oh you must really enjoy that kind of film, Me i watched Korean films but it has subtitles below so I can understand everything in the film eventhough they are speaking their language. Korean Films for me are feel good movie, I like their story maybe because we have different culture, that is what fascinate me. [grecychunny26]

Even I like watching good English movies. I have seen many English movies even seen some french, chinese and german movies with English sub-titles so that i can at least understand it. Even they have many good movies and I enjoyed a lot watching them. It has many motivational movies too which will be remembered for lifetime like some of the movies on our local languages. [rakesh284]

yes!! i like to watch asian horror films from japan and thailand.. the movies they make is original.. it has a different plot from others!! thats why some of asian movies has an american remake!! but i still prefer the original asian movies!! [jovz07]

No it wouldn't make any sense especially if I cannot understand the lauguage. [marciascott]

Yes, I like French and Italian movies too, and there also some directors I like who have made movies in languages ranging from Polish to Swedish (like Ingmar Bergmann) and Japanese, such as the many classic films by Kurosawa. If the movie is good, I don't mind reading subtitles. [Idlewild]

I love to see good cinema from whatever country it comes, regardless of language. I like to see films from countries I've never seen before. I like to have the opportunity to watch films from abroad, not just Hollywood. [Elspethr]

Yes, I like to watch movies in other languages with English subtitle of course. I have watched Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai, Malaysian, Indian, French, Holland, Dutch, Norwegian, Danish, Italian, Spanish...hmm..what else? :) Anyways, it's a good thing for you to see the festival. I also try not to miss all the movie festival or film festival in my city especially the annual film festival that played movies with different genres from all over the world. It's so exciting! [ingridrepi]

I actually know 4 languages, and i am a person who really likes learning about the different cultures. This is the reason why i enjoy watching movies of other countries, therefore, having other languages. I see the different cultures, and many times i get to learn and to realize something. Learning is really fun, and expanding my horizons is really something i really exert efforts in. This is also the reason why i watch foreign movies. While watching, i also get to understand their languages, habits and mannerism better. Perhaps one day, i might be able to get the chance to visit their countries. It would definitely be enriching for me. [safejunk]

I haven't watch movies in other language that I wont be able to understand. But I've watched the whole TV series of "Noor" in Arabic language, I don't understand what they saying, but I just go along and try to read their body language to get some ideas of what's going, lol. This TV series is originally from Turkey and it becomes popular here in Egypt. happy [CJay77]

I have enjoyed many of those movies. I wish I was able to do so without the subtitles. I have not went to a festial though. That must of been interesting. And free is nice as well. [UtopianIdealist]

Generally I only watch films in English but occassionaly I will watch a foreign language film. Two which I enjoyed greatly and spring to mind immediately are "La Vita Bella" an amazing and moving Italian film which actually was the first foreign film which I totally enjoyed. The second is "Kung Fu Hustle" which is such a visually engrosing movie that I certainly didn't need sub titles to totally enjoy it. [thedailyclick]

I do not watch movies in other languages. I did one time start a movie and somehow I had it on Spanish (I think it was) and I don't even know how that happened. I guess I just hit the wrong button somewhere. LOL [sweetgirl_k1]

I love to watch movies from a lot of different countries. Here in Denmark most of the popular movies are either Danish or American. I have watched a few movies from other European countries like Germany, France and Italy, but those movies are sometimes hard to find, and many Danes seem to prefer American movies. I have also watched a few Asian movies, they are also hard to find in my country, but I have managed to a few borrow a few movies from China, Japan, Thailand, South Korea and India. I would love to watch more Asian movies in the future. [Porcospino]

i enjoy movies regardless of the language. of course there has to be subtitles. without them i can't follow the plot at all. i've watched a few japanese movies and they never fail to move me to tears. i've also watched a french movie which caused me to have stitches from all that laughing. sadly, good movies are hard to come by and i've not watched any in the past few years. winkwink [applefreak]

yes, i do watch films with different languages. i guess it doesn't matter at all as long as there are subtitles. i like Amelie and run lola run which aren't spoken in English but they're two great films. i do watch some asian films too like japanese and thai film. my favorite is death note series and ong bak. it's good to try other movies too other than the english speaking ones. let's not try to limit our watching capacity. [modstar]

Yes,i always watch movies of other languages too.I like to watch movie from my own language,Malay and other language because i think i can have many knowledge and learn other uniqque cultural from other country by watch their movies.I always watch India,China,South Korea,Indonesia,Iran,British and many other country and language.I like to do that,so i can get many knowledge and learn something good. [hanah87]

I have seen movies from Italy and France. They are very different from what I have been used to here. I found them to be refreshing. [libby2009]

Yeah I have watched some movies that are in different languages and all of the movies that I have watched in different languages have been some of my favorites. I watched a movie called I'm A Cyborg, But It's Okay which was either in Chinese or Japanese and was written and directed by Park Chan-Wook. I also really enjoyed Pan's Labryinth which was in Spanish or something like that. [jambi462]

Yes ofcourse as long as there is english subtitle i do watch many korean novels and movies. Their stories was nice and sometimes makes me cry having a english subtitle helps me to understand what i am watching. So theres no problem whatever language it is as long as there is english subtitle. Its really hard to watch something that you dont understand, so thanks for the subtitle =) Although sometimes i concentrate with the subtitles hahah! But still understand what i am watching .. [kmaram]

I watch moives in Spanish, Italian, Japanese and of course English. I loved the movie It is a beautiful life and Amelie (tho I am sure that's french). [ShellyB]

Does watching movies that have an english accent count? Haha, other than that, no. I do not like watching movies in other languages. It's also annoying to watch movies that they dubbed english into it so that the mouths do not match up to what they are saying. Grrrr. I'm picky though. I like to feel that the movie could be real and it doesn't feel real when they dub english into an otherwise foreign film. [dismalgrin]

Indeed, these type of films are very rich in culture. You will be surprised how imaginative and creative these movies are. The first foreign movie I remembered watching were "The Pianist", "Schindler's List", and "A Beautiful Mind". These films are really heart felt literally because its a true story. There's also another movie registered permanently in my memory, "Lord of Dogtown". Try watching this one. [cruelsai]

I watched movies in English, Japanese and Indonesian. Sometimes I watch movie in Chinese. Those movies help me learn with my foreign languages. [mr_grand99]

I love foreign movies i will watch from chinese to latin movies.Since i love languages i enjoyed hearing those native languages cuz i get to hear real native languages in those movies for example spanish movies you get to hear the real speaker instead of those dubbed Dvds.Well in foreign movies also thier are quite a few interesting movies worth watching unlike those hollywood movies which are becoming more fake than ever. [seymiss]

hi dhawandm!^^ yes, i do watch movies in other languages. except for English movies, i watch Japanese, Chinese and Korean movies. sometimes i watch Thai movies. but it doesn't mean i understand their languages. of course i watch them with English subtitles so i can understand them. ^^ although, i do understand some Japanese phrases and words. but i can't watch a whole movie without English subtitles. ^^ [secretbear]

yes,i watch different language movies.if they have subtitles, because every country has their expertise in certain genres.like chinese are very good in making horror and martial arts films. [massanil]
