For me I just watch for the real names of some of the actors in the movies and then thats basically it .I dont have a passion for the names all the extras and back up persons.
Are you like me ,just watching for the actors name or do you know all the types of persons required for making a movie.

responses and comments:
I rarely do and if I do it is just because I can't find the remote to turn the movie off or switch the channel. Usually I know who is in the movie before I watch it anyway and for the most part I just care about the story rather than actors or actresses who have little minor roles. [mscott]
You are like me in that regard and that too is the major reason why I sit through the movie credits and believe me that is all I am doing ,just sitting through it ,I am not watching it .Like you said I dont care much for anything beyond the major actresses and actors.Thank you for your response [ronnyb]
There's only a few reasons that I will stay during the closing credits. One is if the movie was so emotional that I need to just sit there for a few seconds to absorb what I have just seen and recover from it. The second reason is if I see an actor or actress that I recognize and just can't remember their name. I'll stick around to see if I can catch it on the cast list, otherwise I just look it up when I get home. The third reason is that I get tricked sometimes. You know how some movies will do bloopers or a little extra scene while the credits are playing? Yea they usually keep my attention. I forget what movie it was, but there was a little scene and everyone was watching, it was very funny, and at the end, everyone was just sitting there, waiting for more...then the main actor comes back on screen and looks at the audience and says, "Why are you still here, the movies over. Go home!" It was really funny! [uicbear]
Those are all valid reasons for me too. There is only one other reason that I acn add and that is sometimes I am doing something else like mylotting and cant bother to get up and change the channel .So I am really more interested in something else and just has the Tv on for no apparent reason [ronnyb]
Sometimes. I guess it really depends on the day and the movie. there are times when I will watch the credits, other times I won't, especially if I didn't like the movie very much. I won't watch the credits, if I'm having a busy day either. I think that my mood sometimes may enter the equation. [dodo19]
i don't pay one bit of attention to the credits. don't figure it's anybody i'd know. lol [ANTIQUELADY]
I look for the actors like I said but anything beyond that I dont care for [ronnyb]
Yep ronny, that's about it for me too. [iriscot]
I only read the credits if there is something I'm looking for like who was that actor, or what was the name of that song. Sometimes they go on for so long. [katsalot1]
I do not watch the credits at all. I find that it is very boring to watch. If I want to know about actors in movies I usually look it up on the web. The rest of it I could care less about. [lisa0502]
I do watch it if I am at home - if the movie is played in a DVD player. In the theatre, I don't read the credits after the movie is over. I just leave the theatre and try to look for a cab ;) [ashjoe76]
I don't although I feel like I should. It's those people's moment of glory and we should honor it with/for them, but as I said I don't practice what I preach. [cripfemme]
I never do unless I want to find the names of the songs used in the movie. Otherwise I will just leave or turn it off when the movie ends. [danrunsfast614]
If it's a good film I will stick around because I don't want it to be over! I will only read the credits if I specifically want to know an actor's name and as I said sometimes I wait hoping for more! happy [paula27661]
I hardly ever watch any part of the credits of a movie. Once the last scene is over, I am normally done with the movie. Once in a while, I will watch to see who played a certain role, but that is rare. [lynnemg]
OK, I seem to be the only oddball responding to this discussion. Yes, I actually do read the credits. Not all of them, mind you, but I tend to stay and watch for certain things. I love to look for the names of actors playing minor roles in a movie. Often when I'm watching a movie I might recognize a face but can't think of the name or where I've seen that person before. Sometimes when I see the name of the actor it helps me remember. It is especially fun to watch the credits on movies that are a few years old. Some of the minor character actors may be A-list actors now. It's always interesting to see where some of these performers got their start. Another reason I like to read is to see where a movie is shot. I live in Canada and very often movies are shot here but the story is set in a major US city like New York or Chicago. Sometimes if a character is on a street in "Manhattan" I might spot a familiar landmark and want to confirm whether the scene may, in fact, have been shot in Toronto. In more recent movies I have noticed that sometimes movies like to "reward" those who sit through the credits. Every so often an additional closing scene will be added after the credits have finished rolling. I always hate to miss anything. [Wordplay]
Most movies have the name of actors in the beginning itself including the director and producer. I don`t go to the movie theater but watch them only on tv. When the end comes i switch the tv set off immediately unless it ends early, then i go to some channel where there is something interesting to watch. I watch films only late in the evening so they usually end at bedtime and after that i switch it off. I am not interested in seeing the names of the other cast members and other details. [veejay19]
Well, it actually depends if I liked the movie so much and was intrigued by some of the stars in it. Like for example one of the stars was really handsome or pretty and it so happened that I don't know his or her name, I wait for the credits to check out the name and then I search for the star's filmography online. Or if a star looks familiar but I can't quite figure out where I've seen him or her before, I check the name out so I can Google the name.lol I also check the credits sometimes for the title of songs used throughout the film. [crazyoverpurple]
I do sometimes, but my mother has this thing with it and it's kinda funny. What she does is as she is reading she counts the names of her kids (first names). And then she announces how many of them are on the list of credits. I have to admit I am rarely on there. My brothers always outwin me there, they have very common names and I do not. [taface412]
To be honesty,i only take interest in the name of the actor i interested in the movie, and if the movie were a good one,i'll pay attention to the director, and that;s about it. [caseycarmen]
Well..there's only two reasons that I'd watch the credits..is to wait for the title of the songs and soundtracks used throughout the movie. Sometimes, there are certain movies, which have some nice tracks and I'd just wait to catch it especially if I was watching the movie on tv...and the next you know..I'll be downloading it..hahah. Another reason would be to hear the soundtracks play as the credits go by as some of it just catches the heart. ;) Princess [princessgar]
Hi ronnyb! Yes, I only wait for the cast or the real names of the actors to be shown and that's it for me. There are few times that I did wait for the songs that were used in the movies to be shown and that is when I want to know the title of the songs and the names of the singers that were used in the film. Other than that, I really wouldn't wait for it to really end. take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith [faith210]
In a theater, no. At home, I pause the movie just so I can read the credits. I used to watch a lot of anime and I like finding out if one of them was in the movie. Then I can find that spot and see what that voice actor looked like. Then there's the trivia part. Where my daughter and I argue over who we thought we saw in the film. So we gotta watch the credits to prove each other wrong. Or right. Or we try to guess an actor or actress from an animated show. By recognizing the voice. She's much better at that than I am, even though I've been doing it longer. [snowcat46]
Yes I always do. I always want to know about all the jobs in the business, basically because I wanted to work in the movie business when I was younger. But when I found out their salary, I decided not to. You wouldn't believe how under paid these people are! If you aren't the director or an actor, it sucks. I still watch all the credits because I am still facinated by it. And some movies have extra clips after the credits are over, and alot of people miss out on it. Like at the end of Pirates of the Carribean. All three of them had scenes after the credits. [lagirl1966]
When my husband and I go to a movie, we usually like staying for the credits. He like to see who the actors and actresses are. We both like to see the music credits, to see who wrote and performed any songs that were in the movie. And I like to see where films are made...and those credits are at the very, very end. So if you're at a movie and there's one couple sitting in the theater after everyone else has left...that's probably us! [catdla1]
Nah...I could care less about the designers, camera guys...If I liked the soundtrack, I'll read the credits for the song title and performer...and if I enjoyed a particular character by an unfamiliar actor, I'll search the credits for the character's name them slide my eyes across the screen to see who the actor was...I've found a lot of new folk to follow that way. [penny78]
The only time I was movie credits is for one of the animation movies. Trying to guess who is playing who is always fun and finding out at the end is even more fun. My girls like to dance to the music thats at the end of the movie also. [mflower2053]
If it was a good movie, I love to watch the credits. I work in film, so I know what the majority of technical jobs on the movie are, like best boy gaffer, or 2nd assistant B cam operator, or foley artist... but every movie needs different kinds of people helping on it, too, so I love seeing what kinds of jobs they created for just that movie, and how it impacted the movie, as well. Near the end of the credits, it shows exactly where the shooting locations were, and many times, I've been wondering what city or what studio they were shooting in. Then, every once in a while, theres a small piece of the movie at the very end of the credits, and it's always exciting to see that part, too. If its a crappy movie, then I turn it off or leave right as the credits start, but if it's a movie I really enjoyed, then I just have to watch those credits at the end. [Christoph56]
Hi Ronnyb As an avid movie watcher i had to respond to your discussion. If there is a particular actor/actress that have really impressed me but they are unknown to me, then yes, i do wait for the credits to find out thier name. Sometimes the credits go too fast though! LOL If i manage to get the name then i can do a search on them to see what other movies they are in. Another reason for watching credits is if you recognize an actor/actress from a movie and know you have seen them before but can't quite place the other movie they are in... if it's really bugging you or on the tip of your tongue then same again.. you can do a search to find the name of the other movie they were in... this brings a great sense of relief LOL Alice [Aliceinwebland]
This is a good question, and I think this is the first time I've ever seen it posted on mylot. So good for you for thinking of an original discussion topic! lol I often do watch the credits, but just for one reason. A lot of times I recognize the minor characters in movies, and I don't remember their name. So I'll wait until the credits get to the character in the movie, and see what their real name is. But once I see that, I'm done. I don't watch the rest of them. [AmbiePam]
Well Yes; sometimes I do watch the list of Movie Credits after a Movie ends . It is interesting esecially we get credits like : Character Name Real name James Collins Tom Hanks (just an example ) [ptrikha_2]
Sometimes, it depends. I will watch it if I don't have to hurry for something else. [daliaj]
Yes i like to know the names of all technicians who worked for a movie.Unfortunately technicians wont get the name and fame which actors get.People who love to work for a movie should know all the departments needed to make a movie.I like to know about off screen heroes who worked for a movie because i like to work for movies as a technician.Hope i get this job [randheer001]
Yes i watch the list of movie credits after it ends.I like to listen to the background music along with it.I try to see the songs of the movie and download the songs which are my favorite.I also try to figure out the actors and actress in the movie.I mostly love walt disney movies.happyhappy [vicky30]
I often read them as I have a friend who does animation/graphics and I look for his name. I also look at the different names to see any that are new or original. [saffrondallas]
I stay and watch Every credit.I like to see the very end of the credits where they list all the music that was in the film. And I get to seee if there is a soundtrack. In the movie Cannonball Run, during the credits they aired all the bloopers from the film. And with Simpsons movie, they spoofed people like me by having Lisa waiting to see if any animals were harmed during the film. As soon as she saw it on thhe credits, they left the theater. [sarahruthbeth22]
Mto me music a supporting cast member. Gave you ever watched a film and couldn't name the music playing in the background? When this happens I wait for the end credits [sarahruthbeth22]
I never use to watch the credits and sometimes still don't depending on if I enjoyed the movie or not. But quite often I will and on several occassions I am glad I did, such as the extra scene tagged on the end of X-Men: The Last Stand. If I hadn't bothered I would have missed something very important. As for the cast, crew, music etc I tend to look on the net for info on a film if I really want to know who that was playing a certain role or what the song was. [thedailyclick]
LOL, No, pretty much when that line comes up that says CAST:.. we pretty much turn it at that point. There have been times when we want to see something but that has been so few times that I wouldnt even count them...LOL [bookreadermom08]
