I've watched this movie and it's darn scary. But the ending is no fun. Not going to say what it is, but for those who have yet to watch, it's quite an alright movie for me.
The thing is, do you guys believe in curses...?cry Like if you have upset someone without intention, and someone curses you, is it fair? Well of course the movie is exaggerated; like 3 days and being dragged to hell.
And generally about curses, what's your take on that? And would you guys want to watch this movie or just give it a go...?blink

Yes, you are right; the old lady's acting is so convincing and it makes the story pretty scary on the whole.cry If you watch the ending, you will not want that thing to happen. But unfortunately, that's how the movie goes. [zed_k4]
Actually I've watched this movie with my boyfriend. Well for me, it was pretty scary at first and gross at the same time, with all the old lady's denture and everything. I know I'm a spoiler lol. But there are some scenes where it's too corny and funny, just like when the old lady's eyes popped out(just like in cartoons). I was somehow embarrassed with my boyfriend 'cause I was the one who chose the movie, and it wasn't that scary at all. And true, it is really exaggerated. I somehow believe in curses, that's why we people should be cautious to everything we do and say to other people, especially with strangers because we don't know what they are capable of doing. Hi Zed, I haven't seen this film and probably won't as I tend not to watch horror type movies however, I do believe in curses, from generational curses to cursed items like Tutumkaman and certain buildings or pieces of land. They say that gypsies will curse you if you don't buy their wares when they come to your door, which I think is nonsense. I have had s gypsy at my door and wasn't able to afford to buy anything, whether she cursed me or not, I don't know, maybe I've had bad luck because of it... again I don't know, but I won't bow down to threats. I haven't seen it but I'm actually into it, on the trailer I found it a real scare so I thought it will be very scary....its a good thing you didn't mention the ending so I won't get discourage to watch it. With regards to the curse thing, I believe in it.my late grandmother was a good witch and heals people who gets cursed by envious people...I saw her get cursed during my younger years... Sounds intense, I do not like a lot of exaggerations its hard for me to get past those but usually I just watch if its with someone else and its scary, thats easier for me happy I think of Hostel, even though its not a curse movie, is it? [revellanotvanella]
Now Hostel is really gory. And Wrong Turn too. The movie has its scares and you will want the curse to go away for the girl. I won't tell much; go and watch it; pretty worth it. [zed_k4]

It's not a movie I want to watch, I'm sure it's quite predictable. Was there lots of blood? I hate that. I prefer psychological horror to gore. The premise is interesting, though, I'd like to read a book with this plot as the subject. I don't think curses can affect most people if they don't believe in them. There's no blood, but there are quite some horror scenes involving the old lady and especially her denture, LOL. It's not bloody like gore movies, I think you should watch it but then again, you are right; it's pretty predictable. She has 3 days and she'll go to hell, and she needs to reverse the curse or something. [zed_k4]

I love horror movies and this one was pretty good. At least it was different from the usual slasher movies that seem to be a dime a dozen. This one actually reminded me of another movie, Thinner. Anyone remember that one? Another classic from the Stephen King collection. It was a "curse" movie as well. I would give Drag me to Hell a thumbs up over every other movie released in pass few weeks. I watched the movie myself. I have to say it was ok, a bit boring, had a few tormented moments but it was not that all scary to tell you the truth. Very short movie, a few lame plots and I totally agree with you 100% that the ending was totally stupid. However I have to say it had some cool effects at the ending indeed on how....died! Days I tell you about these coming horror movies. Did you even know they are making a new version of A Nightmare on Elm Street? Boy! And of course Robert Englund won't be Freddy Krueger. I just hope they don't mess up the movie story and plot that originates from the classics of the 80's. So much of the lame remake of the orginal Friday the 13th that came out early this year. Then Rob Zombie's coming out with a sequel to Halloween....As usual, directors and writers have nothing else better to do than to make lame horror movies. [darkangel079]

I havent seen the whole movie yet but i think it's cool. i have seen the trailer with my boyfriend and it looks very scary, the old wona's face looks so scary too. I would want to buy a dvd and watch this at home. I dont want to watch it in the theater because my boyfriend is not here and i have no one to watch the movie with! it's always nice to watch scary movies when you have someone to cuddle you and scream with you! i will definitely get a copy and watch this. Ahm, what do you mean by the 'ending is no fun'? No need to go into details of the plot. I just wanna know if this movie is worth the rent or worth watching in the movie theaters. I dont rent or watch in theaters anymore. I just wait for them to be on cable.LOL So whenever I think that a movie is good enough that its worth renting then I give it a try. But only after great reviews and a bit of a preview from friends who have watched that movie. Im also a horror fan. Im looking for great horror/suspense movies that I wont be able to guess at the ending or what might happen next. Ive seen a lot of horror movies that are typical for me, and sometimes even disappointing. Though there are those great few that I would watch over and over again. I wouldnt mind giving this movie a chance but the thing is I dont have that much time to watch movies nowadays.sad As for curses, Im not sure really. Nah, I don't think I would watch a movie with that kind of a title. Movies for me are supposed to give the audience a way to escape life's challenges or at least inspire them to overcome such challenges. I don't want to sit in the theater and feel uncomfortable about what I am watching. Anyway, that is just my opinion and I am sure you have your own reasons for watching. I have watched it just now. I don't find it scary but I still enjoyed it. I had fun watching Drag Me To Hell. The movie title really means it. I liked the sound effects and the timing of scenes. There were moments that I am shocked and would jump off my seat. But I really have to say that I have laughed. There were funny scenes. LOL. But I enjoyed it, I don't discredit it to the movie. One more thing that I liked in the movie was the story. They used a classic myth of curses, gypsies, etc. There's a historical and mythical bases on the story. So that made it more interesting. I've seen this movie and I should say I didn't enjoy it much. I was actually a bit disappointed cos I've expected too much. It was okay though. It made me scream and jump but I think 99 minutes or so is just too fast to end. [marababe]

I wrote my own feelings on it. I didn't like how it ended, because I think it was unfair. There was only so much Chris could do. Murder is murder, which is what that is. It wasn't right for any person who opens up and shoots people up, just because one person messed them up. Just because Chris said no, doesnt mean the gypsy had the right to do that. [usaction]

me and my boyfriend went to go see the movies this pass saturday. the first ten minutes of the movies i honestly thought sucked to the highest power. As the movie went on i was a little more intrigued by the old lady. I think they went a little far with the all the liquids coming out of the womans mouth. The was just gross. They made the movie more disgusting than scary, although i definately was jumping a couple of times. It wasnt real scary though because i didnt have fears after the movie. The movie got alot better during the end. I thought that the boyfriend would get draged to hell because he had the button, but i was wrong.........it was okay. my boyfriend was dissapointed.
