Horror Movies-love Them Or Leave Them

Yesterday, I posted a topic about good tear jerkers. Good tear up or cry type movie...Which brings me to this topic... I will be the first to say, I'm scared silly of horror movies...Believe it or not the first horror movie I came to grips to watch even in a cinema was "The Grudge"...Yep, that movie really had me covering my eyes the entire time...lol..won't even watch the grude 2...lol I will watch a horror movie (ie, Silence of the lambs, Hannibal, The hills have eyes) but it comes with complete daylight outside...If the sun sets and this horror movie is on, I will pause or cut it off until the next day...lol.. From the music, to the sudden suprise of horror gets me....I'm forever covering my head or ears if possible... My question to you would be, what drives you to enjoy Horror films? The thrill of suprise? What are some of your favorite horror movies? If you don't like horror movies, why don't you enjoy them? Do you do things as I like cover your face or wait to watch it during the day? lol What horror movies scared you the most? Please share your stories..

Really I am so-so with them. Comedies are more of my forte, but I still like some. Such as the Saw Trilogy, that is a crazy horror movie, but I do like it. I think it's the fact that you don't know what's going to happen next. You tap into the thrill of fight-or-flight without actually being in danger. I also like horror movies because of the fact that not all of them end with a happy ending. I love happy endings, but a lot of the time it's the same thing. You meet good guy, you meet bad guy, good guy learns something special, becomes more powerful, defeats bad guy, roll credits. to me it's just not as realistic. [Squirrely]
I like horror movies , but none of them scared me till date. We watch movies for entertainment,no body will think that let me watch a movie and get scared !. If you are mentally weak never watch a scare movie. First understand that all the movies are only imagination of some other person [PhilipGeorge]

I really like the ring the japanesse version that was one hell of a horror movie it really scares me to my bone lol! I love watching horror movie and the thought of being scared and shout to your heart content it was freaky but the excitement it brings to you is unexplanaible that's why even I'm afraid of horror movies I really keep watching them lol! [maribel1218]
Oh yes, the ring..Something about that girl's look that really got me on the edge of my chair..I can say I actually watching both, american version and did alright... thank you for responding.. [mzbubblie]

I love horror movies!! its actually my absolute favourite genre really...Why do I like them? I guess because being a twisted woman I get a kick out of watching stupid ppl doing obviously stupid things and getting slaughtered in numerous ways for it LOL... [Ravenladyj]
HAHAHAHA you are tooo much...lol funny.. You braver than I am I tell you that much...I try but always end up cutting it off...or trying to stomach most.. Thank you for responding.. [mzbubblie]

I have nothing against thrillers, and would happily go to see one, as long as it has a good plot. I definitely no longer enjoy what I consider true 'horror movies', which usually just seem to be stories flung together for the purpose of showing as many gory ways of someone dying as possible *laugh* I don't know how I was ever into those movies, honestly. I'm sure that it was the influence of my then-boyfriend, since he loved that kind of stuff, and I was 13 and impressionable, lol. I also used to read a lot of horror novels, and I might still be tempted to do that since they usually had a pretty good plot. But some of the movies, ugh. I just don't see the point, lol! I hope that I haven't offended any horror fans here *laugh* I'm just not a big fan of the genre. [shywolf]
I not a big fan period..lol...I will try if it really really gets to me other than that I don't even bother.. Yeah todays horrors are way different than I use to see them..Friday the 13th, you know whent he lady fell she was aobut to get killed..My cousin loved those movies, I would always go in another room to watch tv..lol [mzbubblie]

I'm a true blue coward when it comes to horror movies. Maybe because I have an overactive imagination or just simply have a weak constitution when it comes to scary stuff, horror movies give me nightmares. Furthermore, it makes me jump at every little squeak and sound that I hear and would prevent me from entering into dark rooms. I would even have difficulty sleeping thinking something is underneath my bed or I can't look towards the bathtub without panicking. I'm one of those individuals that cannot leave the images of a horror movie behind and sees it in every corner. Pathetic, right? Unfortunately, true! When I was in my teens, I would watch horror movies with my friends, but only during daylight and with lots of company. However as I grew older and no longer susceptible to peer pressure I just avoid them like a plague. Once in a while I would watch one that has great reviews like The Ring, but I will see more of the palm of my hand covering my eyes than the movie that in the end it was waste. In the end, I'll take any suspense thriller or action adventure movie over the blood and gore offered by horror flicks. [wayz12]
OHH we are soo much alike...I'm the same exact way..lol.. lol aww cute, "more of your palm" But I'm with you..If I'm at home, I will grab a pillow, those are the best...lol Thank for responding... [mzbubblie]

yes i like to Watch horror movies.its nice to watch but you to be with some guts.but some kind mind people, children and pregnant ladies dont watch the horror movies.why some people like horror movies like me means, they have some interest.horror movies is depends on the peoples mind. [sathishbini]
Yes I guess that possibly plays a factor, My mind must be weak for horrors cause i can't watch one but every so often.. Suspense movies get me sometimes also..lol But I enjoy them a bit more.. thank you for responding.. [mzbubblie]

yes, i like horror movie but no one of movie make me scared [binong]
well you are better than I, I can't watch it..lol [mzbubblie]

I am a horror movie fan. I love watching them and look forward to all the new ones. On halloween we spend the night watching horror movies and trying to scare each other. It actually becomes a big event in our house. I do also do enjoy the tear jerker. But for me the horrors are the best. [limosonia1]
Oh wow, I can watch a tear jerker anyday, Horror, you can have it... Big events in the house, oh I would be spending the night at another relatives...I would not be able to sleep all night..lol Thank you for responding [mzbubblie]

I love horror movies. I like being surprised. The one's I like most are the one's that can really scare me. My favorite horror movies are: Exorcist,The exorcism of emily rose, the silence of the lambs,primeevil,28 days later, jeepers creepers, the shining, amityville horror..ect. and alot more. oh I almost forgot: The poltergiest-This one is my all time favorite. My husband really like like the old time freddy movies. [wilson7634]
Oh I'm fine with "silence of the lamb" but that's about it..lol.. I could stomach some freddy movies..lol [mzbubblie]

OK mzbubblie, I HAVE to tell ya my reaction! NOPE! If they are even remotely scary, I just refuse to watch! I used to when I was younger, it always bothered me, but honestly now they give me NIGHTMARES! When my husband & children get together to watch them, I have to go in another room and shut the door, watch the other TV loudly! Give me a good old Disney Movie any day! Silly, huh? :) [Heavensent53]
Horror movie are not good. They are fun when you watch them. But when you start get to sleep you think about how horrible it is. I prefer Good old Comedy movies. Disney movies are good too. My wife loves watching horror movies. e.g Saw 3. I think it's very stupid to make those movies. They only scare people. [lelle123]

I like some horror movies as long as they're not too gory or violent. I think I'm drawn to them because I like the feel of suspense and the twists and turns of a good horror movie. So, to me, it's very important that it has a good story line and isn't just made to shock people. It's funny though, but I don't think I could watch some horror movies by myself at night, it would just be too scary. But if it's during the day, or if I watch it with my family then I'm okay, lol. Some of my favorites are Silence of the Lambs (mostly because I liked Jodi Foster's part in it), The Grudge and The Ring. I like some of the classics too like The Exorcist and The Omen (the original one) and Amityville Horror. To me, Amityville Horror was fun to watch because it was kind of ridiculous scary. The same with the first Halloween movie; to me it was scary in kind of a funny, wierd way. [bethmt]

Oh I'm like that too..if at all I have to watch a horror/thriller movie, it has to be during the day. My hubby is a big fan of such movies and it so happens almost every saturday night we rent such a movie, and we are haggling when to watch it..lol. He wants to watch it then and I want to watch it the next day. We once watched "when a stranger calls" and I was totally freaked out (and that isn't even a horror movie!). The next day my hubby was going out of town and that made things worse for me. I've seen the Hannibal Trilogy, all by day. And still sometimes Hannibal Lecter haunts me in my dreams..lol! I definitely don't watch the gory horror movies, the hostel, the grudge and many more. I'd rather stay away from them! Thrillers are fine. [greengal]

i have no idea what draws me to horror movies, but i like them, i cover my ears, head, and scream and sometimes all at once, i tell you that dog on texas chain saw massacre the new one scared the crap out of me i mean i was emotional and mentally drained.....lol i am usually not a talker but i was so into it i was trying to help the stupid characters.....lol....like they could hear me...lol like i said i love'em and don't know why!!!! [SUNFLWRLUVR]

I am not a big horror movie fan but I will watch some of them. If I do watch them, I will not watch them at night before going to bed as they will give me nightmares for sure. I like the Friday the 13th, Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street movies. I have seen some other ones as well. Sometimes I do cover my face. :-) [kgwat70]

I do not watch horror movies, I feel there is too much violence in our society and I don't think it's entertaining to watch someone being killed or tortured. Give me a good comedy or love story, those are what I like best. [SanDslnrs]

I do not like horror movie .not interested [zhisheng2005]

I love horror films, it is my favourite genre, I love being scared and I love being made to 'jump' and the thrill of being on the edge of my seat. I watched Saw 2 for the first time last night, it was a great story but it actually wasn't gory enough for me, the gorier the better. Most of my friends won't go with me when I see horror films on at the flicks. I love slasher movies, like Friday 13th and Halloween. Hostel was brilliant too and I do hope they make a sequel. At home I like to watch them at night with the lights out and I'm sitting on my own, once I was watching a horror film really late at night in the dark and suddenly one of my cats jumped on me, I don't know who jumped the most me or the cat! Boy that scared the living daylights out of me, more than the film! [wolfie34]

I dont like horror movies at all. They scare the bejesus out of me. I also think that we shouldn't promote crime or violence in such a glorifying way. When we make it look like someone is a hero because he can use force against another, i think it desensitizes us to things that are really going on around us. It also depends on the horror movie. Ghost movies don't scare me, but movies about war, psychological torture, or criminal violence bother me very much. I just get the sense that although it is only a movie, things like this happen every day around the world and worse. [Artemyst]

I rarely watch horror flicks. I did when Iwas younger but I am not much into watching guts flying and all that other morbid stuff they do. Some without the gore, I can tolerate. The Final Destination Movies were pretty cool. [trouble4u2avoid]

I am a BIG horror movie fan! I have always loved them and I even watch them by myself late at night if I catch one on. I finally got to see "Saw 2" and "Final Destination 3" the other night after waiting so long for them to come on HBO and Showtime. Then last night I watched "Saw 2" again by myself after 11pm. Tonight "Final Destination 3" is on again and I'm watching it at 10:30 pm. Again by myself because my husband goes to bed real early. Me and my dad both get into them but my mom hates them and my husband will watch one with me every once in awhile but he doesn't get into them as much as I do. I have seen "The Grudge" and it was awesome. I can't wait to see the 2nd one! I guess the thrill is what really gets me into them so much. I don't scare easily and I could be by all alone in the house and still watch them anytime of the day. I prefer horror movies over any other kind of movie. Even my 10 year old niece watches them with me and she doesn't get scared or have nightmares from them. At first I was skeptical about letting her watch them but my sister said it was fine cause she loves them. She has the movie "See No Evil" on DVD and next time she comes over she is bringing it for us to watch together. I can't wait to see "The Hills Have Eyes" I also loved "The House of Wax." That was so awesome! I could go on and on but that's it for now, lol! :) [cwilson26]

I love watching horror movies even though I get scared and I couldn't sleep after watching them. Did you watch the Grudge - japanese version? or the American version? I think the authentic Japanese version is better - more horrifying. :) and don't forget the Ring - Japanese version too. :) [crishabs]
i have seen the Grudge, Japanese version but no offense, i didn't see it as really a horrifying film. or maybe, i should watch it again. i don't usually get scared after watching it. i can sleep even when the lights are off. we do have different ways of reacting in films, huh? [maryannemax]

I am a real fan of the old Hammer Horror movies with Christopher Lee as Dracula and Peter Cushing as Van Helsing. These movies were made on a shoestring budget most of the time yet they can stand the test of time over and over again. There is something about the old Hammer Horror movies that screams *classic* especially when compared to some of the more modern horror films around now. I guess the reason most people who like horror movies watch them is the thrill, the adrenaline rush, the poundign heartrate, the sheer terror buzz you get. I really enjoy the buzz from a good, well-crafted horror movie, the Crow is one of my favourites. A story of love and death, revenge and closure. It could well be classed as a horror movie, yet it is a love story. [recycledgoth]

I LOVE horror movies, I like the thrill, and twists, and stuff like that, I really enjoyed Saw 1, 2, and 3 :) [Jemmifire]

I still like a good who-done-it mystery. I enjoy this type of scary, one of intrigue and suspense. For the Jason, Halloween, Omen or Stephen King type horror I just can't handle it. I can watch it with my eyes half covered waiting to see what happens next. It doesn't bother me to much at the time. Weeks later when I am over tired, stressed or having trouble sleeping, I will dream about it in vivid color and recollection. I practically bolt right out of the bed. It is like I am right there when it is happening. Going back to sleep is sometimes not an option. My sister inherited the scared whitless right out of your skin gene from our mother. In book or movie form they just couldn't get enough. I will take a good romantic comedy or a movie that makes you cry any time. [gottogogirl1956]

I have to say I love horror movies, especially with great written story lines that keep you guessing and don't have the "typical" over done obvious scares or that relies on total gore to carry the movie over. There are actually horror movies out there that are considered classics and still have the great "scare" factor to them and are virtually bloodless, believe it or not! I also like the suspense and great effects. I've always been one to want to know how the behind the scenes "film magic" is done, like special effects and such. [redamazon]
I can say if there is a horror movie with less blood, I probably could watch it myself. Heads cutting off slowly, or the music..Man the music scares me alone..lol If you know of some please post them so I can try to find them..Those sound interesting [mzbubblie]

For me it depends on the horror movie. I like ones with a good plot but also not one that has a ton of gore just for gore sake. I like to be scared by it not grossed out. I do prefer to watch them at home as well and if I do watch them at night I always have to watch something else afterwards, a comedy of some sort to get my mind off it. Some of the best horror movies in my opinion don't show a whole lot. It's all in your mind which can freak you out more because that lingers longer. As for why I watch them I think it has to do with the fact that it allows you to feel some things and get them out. It's weird but I can feel better afterwards. I don't know if it's because of the adreneline that is pumping but if I'm in the right mood for a horror film and I watch it then I feel better. Strange I know. [emeraldisle]

I love horror movies and collect them. It's just strange to watch some of the things directors come up with or to see what is inside their minds. Some of my favorites are the Hellraiser series. These people want to torture the flesh of humans. I just have always enjoyed watching them to see if they can make me believe something enough to scare me. They bore me if I don't get scared. [jbones32103]

I have liked horror movies since i was a teenager. All the way to the first Friday the 13th Movies and Nightmare on elm street. my favorite scary ones latly have been Grude 2 and Saw3. I guess it is the fear and suspense that draws me to them. [Shaun72]
Oh man The Grudge, my first horror movie in the theater, NEVER again..lol...I haven't even watched the 2nd one..lol..That was a bit much for me... I was the biggest scardy cat in the movies...lol and didn't have my pillow to cover my face... thank you for responding [mzbubblie]

I have loved horror films since i was about 6, I will watch anything that has gore. I even watch B rated movies, they are so funny even though there are cheap. My favorite horror movies are the exorcist, hellraiser, nosferatu, house of a 1,000 corpses, stephens kings It. When I was 6 My first horror movie was it, I was so scared, I was always looking behind my back. Always feeling like there is someone behind me or watching me. Still to this day it scares me so much. [mommey20032005]

i do like horror movies a lot. i don't know why. maybe because of the thrill while watching it. wondering how the main characters can survive such a horrific scene or will they actually survive till the end? actually, i find horror movies not boring at all. maybe that's why i get to like them. i have seen Saw 1 and 2 (hoping to see 3 soon), texas chainsaw massacre, jeepers creepers 1 and 2, hannibal, silence of the lambs, wrong turn, dawn of the dead, land of the dead, slither and many others. i can watch them even at night. but ofcourse, not alone. i find it boring to watch films alone. hehe. you are right, from the sound effects itself, i find it really thrilling to watch already. [maryannemax]
WOW you are a trooper, I couldn't watch some of them alone...Probably wouldn't watch them at all.. Now Silence of the Lambs, I can watch alone, I've watched it sooo many times, I know what's going to happen, NOW I can say I enjoy the movie, but the first couple of times, I was too focused on what he was going to do next...The end when the lady was in the house...MAN, I was SCARED, but I watched it..lol Thank you for responding [mzbubblie]

I loved horror...I started to watch them since 12 years old... since then, I bought and download many horror movies and watched it... I prefered horror movie from Thailand and japan as it is more scary compare to others..... [frozen84]

Well horror movies are also good to watch as long as they are made also with a good taste. For me as long as they have the good story line then i would watch them just like any other good movies that are being shown. greetings. : ) [moneymind]
That's a good way to put it...I agree, But some still get to me... I want to see Saw, but scared as ever. I have the DVD here, just don't know when I'm going to boost myself up to watch it..lol [mzbubblie]

I love horror films since childhood. I dunno, I just have this memory of watching Freddy Krueger in the cinema but my sisters claimed it's not possible since when that particular movie was shown, I was too young to be admitted inside. [silentwill]

I LUV HORROR MOVIES!!! They do make me scared, but thats the fun part! It fills you up with adrenaline and fills you with suspense. The music is the best part, it gets you to the edge of your seat and keeps you from blinking your eyes so that you can catch everything thta happens. One of my favorite horror movies is probably... This one Korean horror movie (Yes I am korean) that I wont bother to translate the name. When we were watching it, the power went off 3 times because of the heavy rainfall outside. Everyone was so scared.... ^_^ [1337p1ra73]
You are a good one... Maybe I just don't want my adrenaline rushing..lol... My adrenaline would rush to cover my face..I always wondered why people enjoy them knowing it's possible it's going to scare you silly... [mzbubblie]

While I prefer a really good gut buster making me laugh, I do love horror films. I don't know why, but the feeling of anticipation really gears me up. My favorite will always be Psycho, the original because so much is left to the imagination. I also love the Jeepers Creepers films, they also leave alot to the imagination, which I think makes for a scarier movie. [lovesfreedom]
Oh my you said "laugh"...I wish I could laugh at horror films, but I'm too busy covering my face and ears..lol.. Jeepers Creepers was a interesting movie, But I was scared with that one myself..lol But I watched it... Thank you for responding [mzbubblie]

obviously i love them .and why to leave them . they are such an entertainer.. i like the make of the actors , the suspense if the storyline is good and the music. [aweins]

I like horror movies.Once in a while i do watch horror movies.Horror movies entertain me a lot when i get bored with the usual movies. But horror movies increases the tention and creates a little fear in us.But horror movies are very good as they makes us excited to know what is going to happen next. [Bshivakumarchary]

I love scary movies, they are my favorite to watch. I love to watch Freddy (nightmare on elm street)he was my fav when I was a child. now about anything for a good scare. [firechick72]
I did watch Freddy when I was younger myself, But now a days it's too much and it really does look realistic to me... I know it's a waste of time taking me to see horror..Besides I would decline...Tooo much for me.. Thank you for responding [mzbubblie]

I sometimes watch a suspense thriller film but horror movies showing decaying dead bodies, rotting something, a lot of blood and slimes, evil creatures... simply turns me off. I can't imagine grabbing the pop corn or potato chips upon seeing those. It doesn't get me scared but makes my stoch turn upside-down. I can't even remember when and what last horror film i had watched. My wife also wouldn't watch horror movies because it really scares her. So, we don't have dvd collections of that genre. I simply go for sci-fi, action, comedy, drama or even animation than the horror films. [dunetrekker]
That's what I'm saying...I can't eat watching stuff like that..lol...I would make a mess and probably turn people off around me..lol.. I enjoy, comedy, suspense, action/adv, some sci-fi, love drama :) Thank you for responding.. [mzbubblie]

It really depends on the horror movie. Suspense I can do. The less blood the better. The gory just to be gory movies I can't watch. I find them stupid, lacking plot and story line, and the gore is just excessive. They make me sick, physically and mentally. One of my fav movies is "The Others" with Nicole Kidman. It's a horror/suspense film that REALLY gets ya, and you can't really predict the ending to it. Give me a good classic horror film, or a good suspense film any day of the week. [serialmommy]
I say we are alike in some ways..I will watch a good suspense movie, I love Morgan Freeman movies.. :) But the blood and guts and cutting heads off..Man...I have to cover my eyes and ears..I don't wanna hear it... I will have to check that movie out "the others" thank you... Also thank you for responding [mzbubblie]

I like to watch the horror movies always when i get time. I have enjoyed with the movie evil dead, predator and many movies. The main thing is, we get thrilled by watching this kind of movies. We can enjoy the thrilling by every movement as well as the music. I like to see these movies in theatre only, because i can get thrilled and the music will get real effect. [goki_vijay]
Ohh the predator, I can watch that with no problem...I guess the "thilling" movies always gets me.. I can't get up enough courage to watch them..lol.. Thank you for responding.. [mzbubblie]

I love horror movies. In fact i started liking horror from a very small age. Some people may like them some may even hate them. But i simple love horror movies. [sensesfail]
I don't hate them, just real cautious as to my surroundings and outside before I watch them..lol But also depends on themovie...Like The Ring, I will watch, SAW, you can pass on that for me..I won't watch it even though I am curious to see it..lol Thank you for responding.. [mzbubblie]

nothing horror movies scared me [skyhit]

Haha! Horror movies are exciting, but I rarely go to the cinemas to watch them. I guess the first horror movie that I've seen was A Tale of Two Sisters, a Japanese film. I just went because I had no choice, my friends talked me into it. The whole time, my heart was pounding, and the silence of some scenes in the movie were deafening! When the horror sounds and scenes come up, I'd cover my eyes, and I would just take a peak... Hehehe... At home, I also prefer to watch horror movies when it's daytime... :) [laptopchick]
Hehehe... Actually, I just realized... That's the only horror movie that I've watched in the cinema... Haha! :D And I can't tell if I ever would see another horror film again. :) [laptopchick]

I love watching horror and scary movies. Love them but I do cover my eyes sometimes when the scene is getting nasty. If it's too bloody or fleshy...I find it very disturbing. Two movies that scared me the most are Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Hostel. [hottie0728]
I know not to watch those 2, I did hear about Tx. Chainsaw Massacre and heard about the first one.. I'll pass..lol.. Thank you for responding.. [mzbubblie]

I love them actually. They are very interesting and there is a lot of entertainment involved. [anup12]

Sometimes I do really love to watch horror movies, but I'f im alone? No thanks, I can't do that! I just don't. I really scared about it. Specially the horror movie created by japanese! Ju-on.. [dig3t3l]

One day, I was watching the horrow show on my television set and my nephew who was about 6years old who was in the bedroom wanted to go to the kitchen and had to pass via the TV room. As he did, so I noticed him put his head down and close his eyes and cross the room, I was surprised, I wanted to play prank on him so called on him.Hearing me call he did come, but once again with his eyes closed and seeing down to the floor. On asking him, why he was doing so? he said, mom had asked him not to be away from ghosts. It tickled my laughter and i after that never called him during the show [Bangalorean]

My nephew who was 6 years old, one day wanted to go to the kitchen from the bedroom and he had to pass the TV room. I noticed him closing his eyes and looking down and crossing the room. I was surprised, as he was the naughtiest of all out there and now was a meel lamb. I was curious and I called on him. He came the same way and on asking him, he said his mom had asked him not to keep company of ghosts and devils and so he was closing his eyes. It tickled my laughter bone and i never called on him after that [Bangalorean]
awwwwww...hehehehe that is a cute story..thank you for sharing that... too cute....I don't like horrors and I don't think I ever will [mzbubblie]

well i love horror movies cause it contain good music which scare me alot and that's what the fun watching these types of movies and the horror scenes which can give us a heart attack also .... so u should not be a heart patient if u like to watch such types of movies... [gaagan101]

As a child of 3 years of age i can remember watching horror movies by my self. It's just something I have always enjoyed.Iam not shure what drives me to watch them, becuase at this point I do not jump.My husband jumps more then I do.lol....I guess it's just a glimpse of another world outside the box in which we live in. I like that little rush, and the best time to watch them is in the dark,no one around that way you can be alone to experince the boogie man by your self and really get to know your own fears.one more thing books are lways better then the movies. In the movies they seem to forget about a good old fashioned scare and just go for the blood and guts part of it.Where's the scare? [RESSIE0168]
Now I probably could read a horror book moreso than watching the actual horror movie, and you are right, the books from these movies are way better than the movies... Thank you for responding [mzbubblie]

i love horror movies but not all its types not the bloody one .... i mean i like that scares me by the script [midooo159]

There are horror movies that i enjoy to watch or scare me.But so far,in filipino movies since im a filipina,Fung Sui is the horror movie that really scare me to the max! [Gwapako_28]
I never heard of that one, but I believe you..lol.. I probably wouldn't watch it either...Plus, I would have nightmares also.. Thanks for responding... [mzbubblie]

personally i hate them...ive only seen a few with my boyfriend as he loves them. there are still a few i refuse to watch though. but i prefer the satirical horror movies...like SHAUN OF THE DEAD is one of my favourites [vicky_lane4987]
Ohh I saw that, That was sorta funny and scary at the same time..SO you know I had mixed emotions on that one..lol I don't care for them alone, therefore you are not alone.. Thank you for responding... [mzbubblie]

Horror movies are not my friend i will watch them but like for me it wont be fun ill most of the times not all the times have to hide lol like under the pillow especially at night if im watching a movie i will just run out of the house or wait i was exagarating but the end that i dont watch horror movies that often not my type except if its a good movie [comptech]

I love watching horror movies and would always find some or the other way to take out time and sit and watch them no matter how scary they are. I do sometimes get scared a lot after watching these movies and get under thier affect for couple of days but finally I get over it. [trialrun01]

i really love watching horror movies as they rise adrenaline in us. [raj0101140]

I'd have to say I hate them. I saw my first one at 16 and that was Friday the 13th in 3D. I was so freaked out it wasn't even funny. I was jumpy for days. Not my cup of tea. Plus I find a lot of them are so hokey. At least when I was younger they were. I would rather even a murder mystery but I don't like things jumping out at me and I don't like too much gore. I would rather go and see a tear jerker and have a good cry. [coolcatzz]

ok some of the horror movies are really good but they are even dangerous to some of the heart patients. i too accept that these horror movies are thrilling and exiting but it should be taken precautions that these may not harm individuals. one should enjoy suspence in the movie. [bmohan]

yes i like and enjoy horror movies like The tales from crypt, the 13ghosts .....the list goes. i mostly like the suspense in those movies [pharmacist23]

Was never a fan of horror movies. Don't find any entertainment factor with it, plus im really an imaginative person, so what i watch i still imagine even after watching it, talk about having an effect on me. That is why i stay away from horror thrillers, i also dont let my kidswatch it as they have nightmares too. [essilem]

ifever i will watch horror flicks,i'll make sure that i have someone to hug and we will scream together,i can't watch alone.ok, ok, i admit, iam a scaredy cat.but i don't know why i love watching this kinds of films.try watching filipino horror films, such as FENG SHUI;SHAKE,RATTLE AND ROLL,HUWAG KANG LILINGON,PAMAHIIN(SUPERSTITIONS),SUKOB,they are really good. i do hope they have versions with subtitles so that you can understand it.filipinos is very imaginatice when it comes to strange creatures, dark places.when i watched these stuff, and were about to sleep, omy gosh!we had tosleep with the lights on for one week and windows will be locked.i couldn't go down the just to getwateralone,i had to ask my husband to come with me,see how scaredy cat i am? [kagandahan]
I've done that before..Asked a friend to come over and watch a movie with me...lol...I'm with you..I totally understand what you mean... [mzbubblie]

I like to watch horror movies but i watch them with my parents and sisters.Evildead is the first horror movie i have seen from then i enjoy watching them.whenever a horror scene comes i close my ears and watch it. [kannimunni]
hehehe aww that's cute...I don't know if my parents or siblings could get me to watch them..You better than I..I cover eyes and ears...if i can and it doesn't sneak up on me [mzbubblie]

i love the horrer movies............. [afsalpozhath]

i luv watching horror movies n horror movies have become a part of my life.. i have seen most of the horror movies up to date.. my best advice for u guys is tat if u are a light hearted or weak hearted person plz avoid watching the horror stuff... its really dangerous to force ur mind against certain things u dont like.. for others njoy watching untill u feel really disturbed...... [vickyee_cbe]

i am afraid to wach horror movies even during the day; after i see the movie, i forget what i've seen but when i am lonely, i remember everything and in my stupidity i believe that something like that could happend to me to; that's why i prefer a comedy movie or a romantic one [dracaila]

I am very much like you when it comes to horror movies. Silly of me to watch when I know I will get scared. I don't know why and how I became a lover of horror movies. I simply find them thrilling and exciting. My favorites have always been Dracula, The Mummy and Frankenstein because they usually have nice stories. The old movie Curse of the Mummy was the scariest for me -- maybe because I was still very young when I watched it. [emilieespino]

I love horror movies. I like the suspense they keep me in. I'm a big Stephen King fan. I love all of his books and movies. [HappyHeathy]

It depends on the mood....if it is night, then no to horror movies n if it is day/evening time, then of course. [jugnujunaid]

Nice to watch sometimes. Parental caution please. [bhuvahsya]

LOL!! you scardy cat!! Well unlike you i simply love a good horror flick! aint nothing better than to watch a good horror flick on a cold chilly night! There's just one horror movie that gave me a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach and that was "The shining", other than that i havent been scared of any horror flicks as yet! [destroyer]

I like horror movies only to some extent. I have seen many of them. What I don't like is dirty faces, like half cut skin or burnt skin, or someone coming out of grave half eaten.....all these things make me feel sick. I think suspense moives are better than horror movies. Also when you are alone at home you remember all horror movies and then you cannot sleep as those horrified faces are moving in front of you..... [apsara60]

I don't like horror movies. Some are too scary. Most of the time I find them cheesy at the same time. So no horror movies for me. [marief2rnurse]

My response is simple leave the things which u do not like. But I think u like these movies and u like to watch them and at the same time u feel more than anaxious soooo don leave but watch them with the consept that this is just a movie [haissam]

I hate horror movies- I am a total wuss...I admit...but I can't stand them, I get nightmares. Silence of the Lambs I think was the worse, my ex husband forced me to see it; and I had to hide my eyes thru 3/4 of the movie- and still was scared because I could still hear it. Anything that is "psychologically scary" I can't take, as well as movies with lots of swords, etc...gore.....no good. [kims374]

horror films - love them, leave them and then go to bed with them.I love these films, remember safe sex guys. [waynet]

i absolutely love horror movies. but i find that they still don't scare me. i really like the movies by director M. Night Shamalan. He did the sixth sense, the village, signs. his movies are so interesting. they always have a neat twist to them and it's never what you expect. [poppoppop111]

I am a very big horror fan & always have been since I can remember. Actually horror films are one of my favorite genres to watch. I really enjoy horror movies because of the imagery & sometimes even the characters within the movies as well. I think that it is by far the best genre out there because it's so dark & screwed up. I guess that is what draws me in is people who are not all there.. It's interesting to get inside there heads & to see what it is that makes them tick.. To even want to do the things they have done.. A large majority of the time what they had gone through as a kid had helped to contribute to why they do what they do.. I guess I like disturbing movies that reach within you & allow you to feel a mixture of emotions all at the same time. I find if a horror movie is done by the right person that this is what happens when I am watching this genre. I know personally that I love watching Freddy Krueger specifically, if I was to pick one character in the horror genre who would be my favorite. It would have to be him. I've always been fascinated with characters who are completely weird & in need of some time in an asylum or mental hospital because of their problems. I also like how he draws people in & what he does to torture them.. I love how he just doesn't go right ahead & kill his innocent victims but plays games with them some-what before hand.. I also can't help but love some of the corny lines he says throughout the movies.. As they tend to make me laugh & are quite memorable at the same time to. There's always some movies within every genre that either defied expectations or ended up being not that good in my opinion. I've had the misfortune of seeing some really bad and pointless horror films. Then I also have at the same time seen some that have really impressed me with the way they were made. It could be storyline, effects, or even a combination of all of those together that make a horror movie impressive to me. I also like to be kept guessing and not too many horror movies can do that for me. I don't honestly get scared by horror films all to often honestly. I guess you could say that it takes a lot for me to get scared by a movie. Especially the ones they have been putting out as of recently over the years. If anything horror films do not scare me, but they entertain me instead for the most part! I love horror films that have more of an unpredictable story, where it allows to set the mood. And I love when the atmosphere of a movie is able to draw you in. That has more of a unique story line. I find to many horror movies they are putting out these days tend to copy a lot of the older movies from back in the day. I sometimes quite honestly tend to like the original movies more than the sequels. Sometimes when a person remakes a movie they end up over-doing it with to many special effects & then they change the story line.. It changes how I feel about the movie sometimes when they do this to be quite honest.. Though some remakes have been able to make the originals a lot more interesting.. But not always I have found.. I think it all depends upon who decides to re-do the film & how they go about approaching it.. Or who there choice of actors or actresses who play the characters in the film are.. And how much they stick to the original or not. Among other things.. I know as kid some horror films used to scare me quite a bit.. I used to watch this movie called 'Dolls' along with 'It." And would always be scared to go to bed at night because when it came to my dolls.. I used to always think that they would come to life & kill me.. And I also feared clowns as a kid because after watching "It" the stuffed clown I had used to scare me.. My parents bought me a clown & would allow it to sit there on a chair in my room.. And after seeing 'It' I would believe that my clown would come to life.. And kill me just like the clown did in 'It.' I used to have night mares sometimes about both of these movies & the dolls within it.. And would be scared that they we're coming to get me the minute the lights would go off at night.. I always had to have a little bit of light shining in my bedroom from the hallway or else I wouldn't be able to sleep.. haha.. Now I look at these movies & admire them & love them even more.. They don't scare me know longer but instead seem to fascinate me in some ways as strange as that may sound. I have my certain favorites just like any other horror movie fan out there. I know that I quite adore the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, along with the Hitchcock movies, movies such as.. Pet Semetary, May, The Shining, Childs Play, Poltergeist, HellRaiser, IT, The entity, Candyman, Friday The 13th, Carrie, Rose Red, The Rage: Carrie 2, Sometimes They Come Back, People Under The Stairs, Maximum Overdrive, Vampires, etc. In conclusion.. I have always loved horror films & I believe I always will in the future. There's something about them that seems to always draw me in.. I love there unique story lines, but at the same time.. Getting inside the characters heads & seeing what makes them tick or why they do the things they do! . . Thanks for allowing me to share! xx [babyhar]
Now I can say, I can watch Carrie, I could watch the orginal, but the new one add too much more scary parts to it..lol....I have nightmares period if I see a horror movie...thank you for breaking it down...Very very good post and thank you for sharing with me....You're better that I, I can't watch half the horror movies you mentioned..lol.. I will never watch a horror movie in a theater though.. [mzbubblie]
