So far I see that my guy friends don't like him very much as James Bond. Something about being to crude and too brute. They say that James Bond should be suave and that they are really disappointed with the latest movie release because of the lack of "cool gadgets"... well I liked it. I prefer the James Bond that bleeds than the James Bond whose hair do never gets disturbed even though he rolled over dirt, not to mention that perpetual tuxedo that never seems to get dirt on. :) I like Daniel Craig and the new James Bond movie.

He is definitely no Sean Connery, but I think he is the best bond since him regardless of his crummy scripts. I am disappointed by far more than just the lack of gadgets in this movie. They need to go retro on bond scripts, but keep the action of the newer ones. Happy Turkeyday! -Undertheoath [Undertheoath]
But the whole premise of Bond is his erotic connections and suave moments with ALL women he encounters. He is the ultimate man essentially. By the way rated a positive discussion because you are one of very few who follow up on their own threads. [Undertheoath]
I don't like him as James Bond, I think the casting director for James Bond franchise made a big mistake in choosing him as 007, he lacks certain qualities as James Bond, he has no ex-factor that drew people around or atleast to his role. The suave looks Sean Connery and Roger Moore possessed is missing in him and the fantastic appeal of the two above amazing James Bond seemed eluded Daniel Craig. Even the boyish grin of Pierce Brosnan is not evident in the facial expression of the latest oo7, no wonder the last two James Bond movie failed to capture people's fantasy. I would say that the best James Bond ever were Sean Connery and Roger Moore, nothing can beat them so far. [jlamela]
I didn't like Sean Connery as James Bond and Pierce Brosnan, they seemed to possess to much finesse for me. I guess I don't hold the common notion on James Bond :) I also didn't watch the old movies (can't stand them haha). But people have been saying that there is a lack of a certain quality in Daniel Craig... [oyenkai]
I think he's OK as James Bond. He's not as suave as the past James Bond's were but he's still pretty good. He gets down and dirty and prefers to do things through brute force. The newest movie lacks the cool gadgets and the nice cars but I don't think that's Daniel Craig's fault. [migsmartinez]
But I think it's because they fashioned the movie to his qualities - they didn't need to compensate him with new gadgets because they knew he had the brawns to kick someone's arse (myLot wouldn't let me use a**) without them:D [oyenkai]
I LOVE Daniel Craig as James Bond! As Bond, he's rough, rugged, and highly intelligent. At the same time, he has that "bad boy" image showing through! A lot of women are drawn to men like that! That accent is killer! All that combined makes him oh so sexy. I want to see more of Daniel Craig! [RitaGreen]
I don't see him very much like a bad boy...I actually think he looks "boyish" and somewhat immature in terms of how he'd do everything to get what he wants. Welcome to myLot! [oyenkai]
That's the problem with constant remaks of shows - the main character changes, time changes therefore the theory of the show changes. Roger Moore was 007 in my day, but Sean Connery was the original - I liked them both. Pierce Brosnon - wasn't he the next generation before this current guy? DIdn't like him and have no ambition to see this new one. They change it so much that it just takes away from the original - if you have never seen COnnery or Moore - you won't know what I am talking about. THen again, people would say that COnnery was prettying boring compared to today, but you have to look at it with the mentality of the times - you can't take what we know today and critique a show of yesteryear. But the whole point of James Bond was he was swab, debonair, classy, maticulate, got things done without getting his hands dirty... that was James BOnd - you know, "shaken, not stirred". To have James Bond rolling in the dirt and getting all bloody - just means James Bond is loosing his touch! They should just make a Milenium Bond and not even have him compare to James Bond - Sometimes it is best to just leave things as they are and not change them! [coffeebreak]
Never thought about it that way. Maybe they're just trying to make as much money as they can out of the series before they completely let it rest. Or maybe then they're just giving some people a break so that the next time they get a new bond actor, it'll be kinda refreshing :D [oyenkai]
No not at all. I really don't like him as James Bond but maybe what I like is that James Bond is also being shown as human as he can be. [magojordan]
I get your point. They try to make more human... though not quite since he's still alive haha [oyenkai]
I'm a guy and I think that Daniel Craig is the best James Bond. I tend to like the gritty and down and dirty James Bond. I think without all the gadgets and sauve-ness, even I could be James Bond...You never know! [kdhartford]
that's a first! a guy who actually thinks Daniel Craig is the best James Bond so far! [oyenkai]
He may not be sleek but he plays James Bond on a more realistic way. We should remember that he's supposed to be the inexperienced James Bond as Daniel Craig's first Bond film is the first Bond film. Maybe he perfected proper grooming, etiquette along the way in his life as a secret agent. He may not be athletic and kind of stocky but still he's the real deal. He falls in love with, he got his balls hurt so bad he couldn't walk for awhile. Who who'd imagine James Bond went through it all? While Pierce Brosnan and other other bonds were all about flirting. Not totally though. ninja [modstar]
Good point! Yeah he was playing the unpolished bond in his first movie... which I haven't finished watching!! Thanks for reminding me haha [oyenkai]
i have nothing againts daniel craig,in fact he is one of the good actor, but not in james bond...hes not capable to play hte role as james bond... [rcfranz]
I've never seen any of his non-james bond movies. I think I better see what I can do something about that. [oyenkai]
I never, ever liked James Bond. Not even as a kid. However, I could always see why it appealed to people so much and those reasons are the ones you name as the things you don't like about him: Cool gadgets and the fact he always looks perfect. That's why I'm a Jason Bourne fan, he's supposed to be the "Gritty James Bond" version. And that's why I don't like the new Bond either, I simply don't need him because I already have the Jason Bourne series. I would like to clarify something though, the new Bond is not rough because he's in his beginnings, he's rough because they decided to restart the series and make him rougher. Remember, Craig isn't making a prequel to the previous movies. I don't like Bond, but I'm glad you guys are enjoying the new movies anyways :) Rich [Richard_Uther]
Oooh they're really restarting the series? I think I like that idea even better. Hopefully the next bond movie would have everything in it: a lot of him getting dirty and him having his hands on "new technology" :) [oyenkai]
Daniel Craig do not look the typical James Bond because he looks old. But, his actions stunts were amazing and I doubt if Pierce Brosnan can keep up with his skills. [sweetmafia]
Yeah, Pierce Brosnan couldn't possibly get that dirty (especially not with the beer belly he's sporting haha) But I don't think I see Daniel Craig as "old" :) [oyenkai]
He's not the best James Bond there is, but I think he's a lot better than people initially expected. When he was chosen for the role before Casino Royale, he received a lot of criticism (especially because of the "Bond Goes Blond" thing xD). I liked him a lot in Casino Royale, and he was praised for that role. I think that was a good movie, especially because I didn't expect much from him. He performed well there, and had a good storyline to work on. ^_^ However, I didn't like Quantum of Solace. It strayed too far from other James Bond movies - not once did Craig say that he is, "Bond. James Bond.", nor did he use fancy gadgetry (as you mentioned). I think that this wasn't due a poor performance on his part, but that scriptwriters should have incorporated more Bond elements in the movie, because they were simply not enough. There were times when I forgot that I was watching a Bond movie. xD Daniel Craig isn't the best James Bond there is, but he makes a better performance than it was expected. He isn't the same as the others before him, but he's not that bad either, in my opinion. [Zezloler]
no i dont like him i dont think he is more suitable for boand role...he is like a play boy face and act in bond movies...i dont like him...wast... [kunthanraj]
well...james bond IS a play boy right? I mean, a womanizer. [oyenkai]
i do not like that guys character at all and that is even for other movies he would star in that is why i don't have the interest to watch james bond movies anymore. and yes to me he is just out of sync with the movie all together [Waynedragonfly]
Well, from the different actors tha played the role of James Bond, it is Pierce Brosnan that I like best. The new guy, Daniel Craig is a good actor but I don't think he fits the role of James Bond in my own opinion. [jpso138]
For me, he is not fit to be James Bond. For one, he lacks the appeal. Second, he looks more like a villain than a detective. James Bond is a handsome and slick guy, one who attracts girls with his looks and machismo, not a common-face a guy. Pierce and Sean are the best looking James Bond during their time. I hope they'll get a new one and of course newer gadgets. [Ash212003]
Well, didn't really expect him to be the next 007. for me, Pierce Brosman is still the best actor for that role. Daniel is still has more to prove because for me he still doesn't that taste for a secret agent. but don't get me wrong, he was very good with his role. it's just that it's still different from Pierce. [Greeneagle24]
i don't care what the rest say of him, Daniel Craig is the best bond, i mean granted, he is no sean connery, but that still doesnt take away from the fact, that this bond, is not a conventional one, forget the suave manner, that isnt contemporary anymore, pierce brosnan had his time to do the bond role, and it was fun while he had his time, but after a while the storyline just got to out of hand. at least with daniel craig, he is much more smarter sounding, less suave, but more of a "means to an end" type, which, in that line of work, fits perfectly. plus, casino royale, was AMAZING, especially that opening sequence, had everyone in theaters captivated. bond is less suave, in exchange for realistic attitude, before he was more of a lover, now he's a fighter. whats wrong with that? i always hated the cheesy romance scenes in every bond movie. [sin_nis]
I like Daniel Craig as James Bond, oyenkai. I like his cold demeanor. [Transdisc]
There can only be one suitable James Bond for my eyes and it's just Pierce Brosnan. [dianavarro]
I've not really got all that excited about James Bond since the casting of Daniel Craig as the new James Bond. I think the makers of the new movies wanted to display a new kind of James Bond, one more up to date for our current times. But Daniel Craig just seems out of place as James Bond. He seems more inclined to be the new Terminator than the next James Bond. Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan typefied the classic James Bond, stealthy, cool, calm, debonair, a human superhero who used brain more than braun to save the world. What separates Daniel Craig from every other modern superhero. Not much. He's just another big brawny type of superhero. [afdinki]
Ugh! I think the creators of the James Bond movies could not have found a more ugly Bond if they had tried harder! Daniel Craig looks more like a lumberjack or long-distance truck driver and less like a suave-superspy. He seems to have all the grace and poise of a dinosaur. A pity. Daniel Craig would have made a great Bond villain though. After Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan had built the Bond brand right around himself and this guy with the truck driver looks just doesn't make the cut. And talking about the Bond that bleeds and gets dirty, I loved Die another day and the grim look of Pierce Brosnan in that movie. Classic movie, that! [complexvanilla]
aww I think he's hot hahaha and I'm really not a Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan fan. I don't like people who talk better than they act :) [oyenkai]
LOL all James Bond gets dirty and bleeds I've never seen them always clean and not bleeding after fighting I don't mind his acts, he is a good actor before he plays 007 already anyway I just don't think he fits 007 decsription based on Ian Flemming 'tall dark and handsome' he is tall alright but definitely not handsome I have watched Casino Royale, I think it was a video or maybe on TV It's not bad since like I said he is a good actor [LittleMel]
I know I cannot judge Daniel Craig as James Bond because I didn't watch the movie. Why? Because when I saw the trailer, I didn't like what I see. Maybe I'm just too attached to Pierce Brosnan wub since I find him very handsome and suave. I just didn't like the physique of Daniel Craig. Oh I'm sure many found him handsome but I don't. I know it's kinda shallow but when I hear the name James Bond, I always think of a handsome, sexy and cool guy. That's all for my part cool. But then again, maybe I'll watch it in DVD, we'll see. [maple_kisses]
I personally like daniel Craig above all other previous actors who played Bond except Sean Connery, who was the best Bond ever.Daniel Craig , i feel is as good as him.He has rugged tough looks and a great body and he is a good actor, a very effective actor ...what more is needed to make a great Bond? [kiran8]
I think Daniel Craig makes a good James Bond. This is a good trend following Pierce Brosnan. Cheers!! [underdogtoo]
i dont like daniel craig as a james bond .his looks doesn't gime a james bond look .moreover i dis like him .i like pierce brosnan the most.as u said tat nowadays his films are lack cool gadgets .this might have given me this feeling......on hte whole i dont like him as james bond......happy mylotting [vinothkumar08]
I made a debate on this subject on squidoo at http://www.squidoo.com/danielcraigisjamesbond Basically I think Daniel Craig is a good James Bond but the Quantum of Solace suffered the same kind of affliction that marred On Her Majesty's Secret Service, that being BAD directing. [ArizonaSnow]
Whenever I think of James Bond I see in my mind Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan. I am not used to see Daniel Craig in the role of the Agent 007. I did not see the second movie with him yet, I heard that is worth watching, but with the first one he didn't earn my vote so I'm rather conservative and maybe I would like Brosnan back. [octavian]
I am with your guy friends. I prefer James Bond to be suave and to have great toys and to have some cute lines to say. My favorite Bond is Roger Moore. He had some great toys and he did wear a tux real well. He seemed to be having a good time. [sarahruthbeth22]
hehe yes, the usual James Bond uses more of his brains than his muscles. But the latest image i think, is good for this age and time--not that the current James Bond lacks the smarts, but he is just more athletic. Nice observation though with Bond's hair.. hehe =) [clickmind]
I was never a Bond fan. I thought all the plots were silly, and I don't really like the image of Bond that was created for the films--suave and smooth, and a lady killer. From what I've heard, Casino Royale is much closer to the original novels. I've also been a fan of Daniel Craig for a long time, so I was glad to see him get the role. I just hope that he keeps doing other kinds of movies because Bond isn't much of a stretch for an actor. [unusualsuspect]
But don't we go to a James bond movie with an intention of watching a suave James bond, always stylish complete with latest gadgets. [suruchi86]
Yes that is true. But in such cases, many time I leave my brain aside and watch movie without applying any logic. [suruchi86]
