Movies are no doubt one of the greatest escapes going. For a few hours we can escape into another time, another place, another world. Some movies tend to influence more than others and really do live in our hearts. We love the characters, the scenery the time especially if it's so different from our own lives and times.
I remember as a kid, and this might have been an indicator of my future interest in the acting world in which I was to later study drama and did actually perform on stage, when I saw that movie as a kid, I swear, for at least a whole week I imagined myself at a favorite character from the movie I had just seen. I would maybe "talk" and behave like the character (gee, no wonder my classmates thought I was weird..LOL) But I just would really get rapped up into the thing.
Movies still influence me. They sometimes make me yearn for a different life. Since I'm really a fanatic of fantasy/children's type movies..a few movies really stand out. Lord of The Rings and Chronicles of Narnia...oh and yes, Harry Potter....LOL And it's almost ironic that I choose these three since they are anything but idyllic and peaceful...all have that element of good vs. evil, but isn't that true of life itself? None of these movies are exactly fairy tale happily ever after endings..there's conflict galore like life itself.
Who wouldn't want to go to Hogwarts discovering that they were a wizard? Who wouldn't want to converse with Aslan the lion and meet fauns, satyrs, centaurs? Who
wouldn't want to live in a Hobbit Hole?
Of all of them...I think I still am drawn to Lord of The Rings movies most of all. And I'm torn between what life would I prefer--being a Hobbit in the Shire with that innocent Hobbit lifestyle set in a beautiful countryside...or be an elf in Rivendell?..Uh..I kind of have the qualifications of a Hobbit..I'm short, LOVE to eat, and love walking barefoot..but no don't have hairy feet..LOL..then have some qualifications of an elf...learned, a collector of history and know herbal medicines.
Anyway..what movie just simply WOWS you..stays in your memory and wish you were living the life of that movie...and if you have a favorite character...who would it be?

I love this discussion! It's right up my alley of thinking =P lol. I would probably change my mind a million times lol, but I'll answer with the movie that popped into my head first. I think it would be really fun to live life in Harry Potter (great minds think alike Pye!) lol. Who doesn't want to be magic!? lol. And you actually listed some other movies i would like to be a part of; Chronicales of Narnia is another big one! :) And just to cheat a little bit on this discussion...if we were picking SHOWS to live life as, hands down mine would be Supernatural. And I would be the third person to be a premanent member of the boys hunting party ;P lol [LilyoftheThorns]
That's about the only way I could get all my renovation dreams to come true... [BarBaraPrz]
Gosh I have been in so many movies in my head it is hard to keep track of them all! I have been in movies with Jean Claude Vann Damme, Grease, Titanic, George Clooney. It is an escape, a place to go to and be a different person! I actually do not play a character though I just go in as myself but I am always in the main parts LOL Best part is, if I was actually offered a role in a film I would just shrivel up on the spot, there is no way I could ever do anything like that for real! [gemini_rose]
Oh I love them films and he is lush! Apparently the mummy 3 is due for release so I read somewhere the other day! I love Egypt and all its history it is so magical and mystical! [gemini_rose]
Hi Pyewacket, I had to think about this for a minute ut the best I can come up with at the moment is Dirty Dancing. I would love to have a young Patric Swayzy teach me to dance like that! Cheers, Tianna [Tianna2]
Oh my goodness but that was a great movie. I would love to be able to dance like that myself [pyewacket]
Ivanhoe! GERONIMO! or something in the future living on another planet. [Lakota12]
"Who wouldn't want to live in a Hobbit Hole?" Ooo! Ooo! Me! (Or maybe I should say Not me?) When I read the books back in the 60s I thought the life of a hobbit was ideal indeed. And then in college I ended up meeting and marrying a real live hobbit! (Yes, he had big hairy feet... probably still does but I couldn't tell ya now). [BarBaraPrz]
I definitely would love living in a Hobbit Hole...I love that early scene in the first movie where you get to see the inside of Bilbo's home...I'LL TAKE IT! I'm short enough that I wouldn't be banging my head on the ceiling...LOL Hmmmm..he really does look like a Hobbit...heehee [pyewacket]
The movie "The Time Machine" I have both the 1960 version and the 2002 version... which of course was slightly better as it was more up to date. I would love to be able to travel in the future like that. [Aussies2007]
I love those movies too...and I remember the old one...I love the music in the newer version. I've always had a "thing" for time travel myself...would love to see what this Earth will look like in a thousand years from now....uh, that is if it's still here. [pyewacket]
i would love to live like indianna jones..life fun of fun ..and jumopin ..and climbing and punchin bad guys , cracking jokes...being smart, teachin in college..hehe would be like great fun..i think... [cyberkunal]
I love the Indiana Jones movies too...haven't seen the latest one. My favorite is the very first..but then maybe since it has an Egyptian theme to it...one of my favorite periods in history [pyewacket]
I have always been enthralled by the series "The Vampire Chronicals" by Anne Rice. I wouldn't want to live off killing humans of course but the character Louis in "Interview With A Vampire" lived off of animal blood because he still felt such an attachment to his humanity. So if I could have all the vampire "enhancements" listed in the books without harming people then I would love it. Eternal youth, eternal beauty, extreme strength, perfect health, enhanced eyesight, smell, touch, the ability to move faster than human eyes can see, WOW! I would just have to keep a herd of cattle for food. They could be vampirically "fed upon" without harming them at all. I wouldn't want to kill any animals either of course. I'm such a night person anyway I've been accused of being a vampire on a few occasions! lol [craftcatcher]
Yup I saw it and is definitely IS getting warm in herelol [pyewacket]
Hi pye, I love the old movie with Hayley Mills in Pollanna, and I love to be her character, Pollyanna who lives in a small town makeing everyone happy and being loved by everyone in a beutiful little town or was a village? cant't remember I would love to be right there now. Bright Blessings Tamara [tamarafireheart]
Oh I remember that movie..that's one of Disney's classics with Haley Mills...she was quite popular in a lot of Disney movies. I can't remember if it was a town or village either [pyewacket]
Of course, there are several movies I could choose. I could choose Zoolander for this. I would be Mugatu, only because I would like to have his hairdo. Then there's another of my favorite movies: Wet Hot American Summer. My life would then be all summer camp all the time. Everything would be ridiculous and random, but no questions asked about the inconsistencies. I don't know who I'd be in the movie--I'm pretty sure I'd be satisfied being anyone. [nerdytina]
Thanks for those links...yes I do remember now seeing the trailers for Zoolander...just never saw it.sad [pyewacket]
During my impressionable years, I was not a big movie goer or watcher. I really hated sitting still for long periods of time like that. Tv made a bigger impression on me than movies. So I will say that I was intrigued by Samantha Stevens of Bewitched and Jeannie of I Dream of Jeannie. Having supernatural powers is a fascinating prospect. I am of course fascinated with the Harry Potter movies, but they weren't around when I was younger. The Potter series makes magic a lot more complicated than Bewitched ever did so that is fun too. Potter also introduced the concept of mortality to supernatural beings, that is one thing I never thought of before. I watch a lot more movies now, but I don't really fantasize much about them. I think I may have been overdosed with reality...:} [sumofalltears]
Yes there is an element of "darkness" to Harry Potter...the first movie (book) kind of set the whole storyline up..by the time we get to Goblet of Fire it's a lot more sinister..even gets a bit depressing since we have the first death of one of the students. Bewitched and I Dream of Jennie were just plain good ole fun type shows with a lot of humor [pyewacket]
I am one of those sappy girls, lol. I would want to live in one of the romance movies such as The Notebook, The Lakehouse, or Somewhere in Time. Those are all great romance movies. [prncesfrmheaven]
A shame what happened to Christopher Reeve [pyewacket]
I would be an elf, I would be Arwen, because she is a strong female character, sure of her abilities and able to stand up to her powerful father to love the man of her choice. This was a hard question for me, as I love the Harry Potter books and movies, and also want to be a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts. But my favorite character of all time is Arwen, for the reasons stated above. [lilibetha49]
Of all the Defense of the Dark Arts professors I loved Lupin. A lot of die hard LOTR fans of the books actually got miffed at Peter Jackson for introducing so much of the Arwen character into the movies as the story between her and Aragon was only in the appendices of the book....but I thought it was a unique way of blending and tying in the storyline throughout the three movies. [pyewacket]
Well, this may show my age but who cares! I would definitely be Scarlett on "Gone With The Wind". That era to me was romantic and dramatic. Yep, I can see me sitting on the front porch swing sipping a mint julep in one of those long dresses. Hmmm, who knows, maybe my "next time around " I will go back to that era. OOPS, I love to read books on Time Travel, does it show? Jude Deveraux wrote a book, "Knight In Shining Armour" and I seem to have been captured by the idea of time travel since I read it. [RhythmWalker1]
I couldn't see myself wearing those types of dresses in this nice hot summer weather though...no wonder women also carried smelling salts to revive them...all those petticoats and whalebone corsets...ekk! Speaking of time travel..ever see those movies? The original one and then the remake...I love those. Another genre of movies I love is anything from the medieval period or King Arthur-ish. Loved First Knight for instance...or Mists of Avalon [pyewacket]
Definitely Harry Potter...I want to get on my broom and fly away -- no worry about gas prices. And I want a house elf. Forget vacuuming and dishes. HP all the way. [Debs_place]
Bur that would be the difference. The house elves would want to stay, they would be well treated and given clothing and objects and be a part of the family. [Debs_place]
This is not from a movie but a place. I would love to live at Hurst Castle in San Simeon CA. Here is a link to a web page. http://www.worldofstock.com/closeups/TAC3269.php The castle is beautiful and has an indoor pool with gold inlay. They have an outdoor pool also. This is not even talking about the house. William Randal Hurst was a news paper mogol and he made millions. When he died his wife and son tried to give the land to the state of CA and the did not accept it. Then several years later they did accept it. They have tour buses that go up to Hurst castle and you can take one of several tours of the house and grounds. I have been their several times. It sits south of Big Sir California. I would love to spend a weekend with my hubby all by our selves in the fabulous house. [teapotmommommerced]
In the billions I would think. Just for the land it is sitting on with the ocean view I would guess it that would go for a lot of money. Then all those artifacts. I would guess in the billions of dollars. [teapotmommommerced]
actually, I enjoy my own life, I don't think other's life are more clorful than me.If I have to chooose one, maybe I would like to be the actress of Pride and Prejudice.I have my own thought and someone love me deeply. [yuye3000]
Which Pride and Predjudice? There have been a lot of remakes of that movie [pyewacket]
In my part, I prefer to be one of the charlie's angels. I like the movie a lot. If I have free time always I would watch the show over and over again, lol. I like being an action diva, lol. The truth is I love fighting crimes. I mean having those abilities would surely help and would surely find the criminal. I love the character of Cameron Diaz in the movie. She is bubbly, and she has a partner, lol. My sisters usually would tell me that I am like that character, lol. [bestre]
I love the Charlie's Angels movies too...the three actresses made a great team there and yes, Cameron Diaz's character is great [pyewacket]
I would like to live in "The sound of Music" as Captain Von Trapp because I admire his courage and his kindness to his children. Also I would like to be Drunken Master because I really love Jackie Chan Films. As a magician though I would like to live in the movie "The Prestige" although I wouldn't want to be Christian Bale nor Hugh Jackman. [magojordan]
That wasn't exactly an easy time to live in...there were some very uplifting parts of that movie as well as sad..but it was a good one and a classic [pyewacket]
I would like to be one of the guys in the Movie Animal House. maybe Chevy Chase in Caddy Shack, or even Richard Prior in Brewsters Millions. They all had it pretty good with happy endings to boot. [mscott]
Chevy Chase is hilarious in so many of his movies..he's a great comedian I think [pyewacket]
Well I saw this a while ago and for the life of me can't think of any ONE movie. Sometimes is the Griswolds Vacation series, others Mr & Mrs Smith, there are days like Dumb and Dumber and followed up by Cheaper by the Dozen. Maybe I should just write me own? [ljegbers]
Hehehe..hey why not write your own?? [pyewacket]
If I could be an Tolkien Elf or Jedi I would be a very happy woman. Some of my favorite characters include: Legolas, Luke Skywalker, Spike (from Cowboy Bebop), Captiain Reynolds (Firefly) and what woman wouldn't want to be Inara (the companion from Firefly), Maid Marion (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Dr. Daniel Jackson (Stargate) hmmm, guess there are a lot of people I would rather be than myself. It is also interesting that most of the characters I admire are male. Wonder what that says about me. [Aurone]
I always loved Sigourney Weaver...and especially her Ripley character [pyewacket]
it would be either Sally bols in Caberet played by liza minelli, or Mame played by lucille ball in auntie mame. they both seemed to have lavish interesting lives.; [bunnybon7]
oh yes, i totally love wizard of oz, it is my all time fav movie [bunnybon7]
MY GIRL, I loved the relaxed feeling all throughout the movie and if I grew up in a neighborhood (I grew up in rural area)I imagine it to be just like this. I love the movie but the scene setups were perfect. [revellanotvanella]
I never saw that movie regrettably ...I think a great movie though that shows great loyalty between friends is The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood..ever see that? [pyewacket]
Well I would like to go back in time to the roaring twenties and live the life of Sugar Cane the role that Marilyn Monroe played in "Some Like it Hot". I think it would be fun and adventurous to travel by train and play an instrument and sing in an all girl band. I also loved the movie "Funny Girl" and the role of Fannie Brice played by Barbra Streisand ... although I read that the actual movie about her life wasn't really true in a lot of ways, still it seemed glamourous in the movie. I guess her husband "Nicky" was much worse to Fannie in her real life. However, her career was very prolific and lucrative and it seemed like she had a lot of fun with it. [barbiedollgirl]
Kind of hard to imagine my grandmother as a flapper...LOL [pyewacket]
I have quite a number of favorite movies, but if I were to be able to live like one of those movies I'd probably choose Sex and the City. Maybe as Carrie or Samantha. They live a glamorous life, they can shop at Designer's anytime, they eat out a lot of times, they have true friends, they have steady jobs, but still they experience problems, trials, and challenges in their lives. It just goes to show that nothing is really THAT perfect in life. We may have all the material things that the world can offer and still feel something's lacking in our lives. Wouldn't it be nice that when we have a relationship problem, or any kind of problem for that matter, we can just go over at Bergdorf's or Bendel's and shop for Manolo Blahnik shoes, Hermes, LV bags, purses, etc. or go on a spa weekend with our closest friends? Crazy life. I think it balances everything. Besides, I'd love to live in New York one day.happy [marababe]
LOL--while I confess never have gotten into the Sex and The City craze or even watched it save once, the whole idea of having true friends that will stick by you no matter what is a great appeal...like the friendships that last a lifetime between the four Ya-Yas in the movie The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood or even Steel Magnolias...but yeah...wouldn't mind the idea of splurging on "goodies" to pick me up...LOL [pyewacket]
mine would be lara croft played by angelina jolie in tomb raider. [prettyrose529]
yep, i think it would be cool to play that part. it's just so... exciting and challenging. lol. [prettyrose529]
this is a fun discussion! I love marvel movies. I'd love to be either iceman or the human torch. however, I also enjoyed the hulk -- will my friends still love me if i turn into a huge green monster like him? nah... maybe i should just stick to either batman or iron man. that way, i'll be rich! [booboostrider]
Heeheee...I'm a Spiderman person myself [pyewacket]
Hello pyewacket ji, Well, many years back, I saw, movie, 'Escapade in Japan', 'The bridge on the river Kowai' and many others. Also I served full 38 Yrs in Air force, I wanted to become prisioner and escape from enemy camp. However, I have my own reservations on actor's life. As actors are always in imagination world and far far away from real ones. As a soldier, I faced reality in life, where there was no possibility of having re-takes, as per desire and standard of acting. Here I have been really acting in life. So i do not want to act like in any movie. I am not actor. Have anice time. [chintoo07]
Hello pyewacket ji, Well, I have seen some of the fantastic movies, where Hero does all beyond expectations and ones impossible under normal condition by a non-actor normal man. If in case such conditions are really challange actor's life time, will actor come out in flying colors. If actor comes out, actor is reality, but if actor fails, then God will help. Have a nice time. [chintoo07]
There are two films that I wouldn't mind living in. The first one is Chocolat. It's one of my favourite films; it has such a magical atmosphere, I loved all the actors in it and the lovely relationships between the characters, and of course I also love chocolate! One message in this film seems to be that everything can be solved with chocolate happy. So, my ideal film (and life!) The other is Willy Wonka and the chocolate Factory (original version with Gene Wilder). Again, this film involved sweets and chocolate (got a bit of a theme going on here, lol!), and this film is also set in a quaint, olde worlde European village. I loved the relationship between Charlie and his family and the innocence of it all, and I'd love to live in a pretty little place like that and, of course, be invited to a chocolate factory. [liquorice]
Sorry for making you crave chocolate! Wow, it must've been so lovely and exciting going to a real-live chocolate factory happy [liquorice]
As for me the movie I love most is "rainman",actually this is the first foreign movie I have ever watched as I am a person who don't like watching movies..I remember everytime my teacher let us see some movie ,Most of the time I am the students who having a sound sleep during the time when other classmates screaming or laughing over the movie..lol.. One day my foreign language told me that "if you really want to improve your spoken and listening english you have to watch the movies".she is the professor whom I admired most,so I followed her instructions and watched my first movie "rainman"which gave me a lot of hint in my stidies, and Just in this movie I become one of fans of the famous star in Hollywood "Tom Cruise"..Later on I watched "Forrest Gump"..then "The Pursuit of Happyness"......so many.. Now I become a movie fan ,and above all I have learnt a lot from the movie. Thanks to my teacher ,thanks to the "rainman"happy Mollyconfused [comeonmolly]
happyThanks for giving me that encouraging example ..I will insist on this and in the maintime do more listening ..thank you ..dear friend [comeonmolly]
Hee. I would prefer to animes to movies. In the anime/mangas Bleach, Shinigami (death gods) are given special powers to rid off the evil spirits. They also have their own sword (Zanpakutou) which each have their own unique powers and characteristics. I would love to live like the Shinigami in Bleach, possessing special powers and own my personal sword. lol [poohgal]
Nothing to be embarrassed about. It's a matter of preference. happy [poohgal]
Hi pyewacket. Well I would love to be Gregory Peck in the cowboy film "A Big Country", where I could ride along on my horse "Old Thunder" through the wide open spaces, with an orchestra playing in the background; go and inspect my cattle grazing and drinking near "The Big Muddy"; and then head off home to have a coffee with my favorite girl Jean Simmons. Yep! it doesn't get much better than that :-).... Have a great day. UMart [umart13]
This is right up my alley, I have that same habit of acting like characters from movies. If I had to pick one, I'd love to live in Pirates of The Carribean. Pirates=love and beaches and sea. AND RUM! I've taken it on myself to act like Jack Sparrow for a day a few times. =] I'm a little off-kilter, I think. ~Becky Ann [BeckyAnn]
you know the movie I AM LEGEND i like to live there no people in the world and all people are affected in virus become monsters i like to live there and i can do what ever i want i can go to mall where no people there i can shop with no money where ever i want i can grab for free more money i can go to the bank and get money no can see me and i can walk that naked because there are no people? around me but when the evening has come i will go to the place like safe because when the night has come the monsters has a live and around the world the city but i have a gun to fight that monsters i like the adventure to fight the monsters and kill all of them there so many gun of me to fight that monster? when morning i look around the city and play and do what ever i want when evening i will go to safe place because there are so many monsters in the night? if you watch the movie the i am legend you will get me and you will understand me for what i say? good luck and happy posting?.... [ken18neth]
Superman is one of my favorite movies, especially in my childhood. I like living in it. It must be a fantastic feeling if superman holds me to fly. And I can travel all over the world and that's quite exciting! I love China [youless]
There are so many awesome movies to choose from! Emma- because I always thought it would be so much fun to be a Victorian lady and wear bonnets and play the piano and paint and not have to have a job. Harry PotterI would love to do magic and learn to fly on a broom. And I just want to be Sandra Bullock! Except in Speed, that would be too scary. The Lake House, Miss Congeniality, While You Were Sleeping, Practical Magic. She always plays such amazing characters. The Prince and MeI would love to marry a prince and be decked out in beautiful dresses and jewelry. Also be able to do good works. The Princess DiariesCould you imagine Julie Andrews as your grandmother? And the closet in Diaries 2? Wow! [Trace86]
Good discussion!!! I always say that I feel I was born in the wrong time as I love the 50's and 60's so I would have to say a movie like - American Graffiti, Grease, Hollywood Knights, etc. Someplace where I good go to the Soda Shop for a malted milk shake & burger. I love the music from those times also so send me to a sock hop. Either that or send me on a road trip. I love movies where they are on the road - like Road Trip (of course) and the Vacation movies with Chevy Chase, Rat Race, etc. Movies are great. Fun to pretend that you are in them and experiencing what they are. [Virgie60]
I can't think of one movie. I know that sounds weird, but I just can't decide. I bet that if I thought about it for a while, then I would probably be able to decide, but that might take a while. [cortney09]
When i was a child,i like the Journey to the West,we all like Sunwukong. He is clever,justicial....The bestthing that he is powerfull, [kityzou]
Oh this is a tough question for me. I would be stuck I believe with Harry Potter, Narnia, and Avalon (The Mists of Avalon). I guess really it'd be between Potter & Avalon though. I'm not really sure which. I mean with Potter you have all the magic but in modern times which is nice. But with Avalon you have mysteries beyond anything like that of Harry Potter...hard choice. I still can't decide LOL. Great discussion! [GnosticGoddess]
Morgaine is my favorite :) She's the one I relate to the most in the Mists. Have you read any of the others in the series? In 'Lady of Avalon' there is a good back story of her. It really makes you understand how she got to where she is in Mists. [GnosticGoddess]
This isn't one movie or one character, but when I am watching movies, or sometimes even television, I have always wanted to be able to just go and do things when I wanted to. So many times in the movies the characters want to go to Hawaii for business or pleasure and off they go. Or they have a "job" that takes them all over and they don't have to report to anyone and seem to just go here and there and do what they want when they want to. There is no thought of having to be at home or not spending too much money or that it is Thursday and the garbage has to go out. All of the little day to day things that we have to be bothered with and think about every day to get by are more times than not no concern with the characters in movies OR it is what the movie is about. There are no planning that goes on beforehand.....if they want to go, they just go without making sure there is a flight going when they need to go or that someone will be there to meet them or that there will be hotel room available for them. [idowrite72]
Those really are nice types of movies...I think we all have that dream about just taking off and going wherever we want, whenever we want, and not have to think of everyday mundane things...like getting that clogged sink fixed, or doing the wash...LOL. In fact, to tell you the truth..most movies don't show "everyday" life the way it really is, do they? [pyewacket]
My very favorite movie is "Gone With the Wind". I would be Scarlett and live on the plantation. She overcame a lot and was a survivor. I love movies like that where the woman is portrayed as strong. [sdmoonchild]
I love movies too that show very strong female characters...there aren't too many of them, are there? [pyewacket]
Any movie with Matthew McConaughey or Al Pacino...I would be their love interest of course!! :) [sagesunicorn]
Hehhe...I second that! I've been a fan of "Al" a long time in particular [pyewacket]
Wow, what a question! There are so many, I remember when I was very young I wanted t be either Scarlet O'Hara, Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz or any character that Shirley Temple played. Of course, I wouldn't have wanted to go through some of the terrible "drama" these characters went through. I wouldn't mind being Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman if I could skip the part where she was a hooker, except for when she was with Richard Gere...lol. I wouldn't mind being Thelma or Louise, but I wouldn't want to go over that cliff... This is a tough one! Too many of the great female characters have met with terrible endings! Annie [anniepa]
Pye, I'm really going to have to see that Lara Croft movie, I think you've mentioned this before. Before I heard it from you I don't think I'd have figured it to be "my" type of movie but it seems like we share some of the same taste and I do like Angelina Jolie so I'll probably like it too. It was just on TV within the past week or so but for some reason I didn't get to watch it and I think my DVR was a bit full at the time. I'll definitely watch for it or else rent it. Annie [anniepa]
when i was a kid, i really wanted to be Matilda from the movie of the same title... imagine being that smart and being able to move things with your mind. i also wanted to be Wendy in Peter Pan or a sort of girl version of Peter and live a life of adventure and be able to fly... play with fairies and mermaids and indians and make fun of pirates... now, i'd really like to be Celine (Julie Delpy) in Before Sunrise, which i think is one of themost romatic movies i could think of. i'd like to be part of Harry Potter's Wizarding World but not as any of the major characters, just be a muggleborn witch somewhere. [failsafe_o5]
Oh, I loved that movie Matilda...I even read the book once. I was so glad that her rotten parents got what was coming to them after treating her that way..LOL [pyewacket]
Great Discussion, I would probably choose to be Hancock just so I could whip anyone I wanted to and just have some fun with my strength every once in a while. [irishrule812]
I didn't see Hancock but I saw the trailers...anything Will Smith is in, is great..right? [pyewacket]
Well me and my boyfriend in like a fantasy life, we are like lady and the tramp, cinderella, and sleeping beauty. [Kimberly92119]
I love fantasies movies as well. [pyewacket]
I always was into Pirate movies, and wanted to be swept off my feet by the pirate captain who would discover that I was a pure virgin and I would reform him and he would give up his pirate ways. I would then discover he was the son of this Count and we would live in this mansion and have jewelry and servants. The other movies I loved were cowboy and Indian movies where I was in a wagon train or rather I had wandered away and I ran into an Apache warrior. I got him to stop raiding, and we got married, and we started a horse ranch. Rather improbable. I guess I wanted to reform everyone then. Oh there was me as the beautiful princess rescued by the handsome prince from a fate worse then death. [suspenseful]
Did you ever see any of the Pirates of The Caribbean movies? I've always had a thing for pirates myself [pyewacket]
I would want to be either a flapper in the Cotton Club or one of Ben's onenighters in Bugsy.I like the style and the fashion of the 20's.And I like the idea of being with Ben Siegal, the real one not Warren Beatty, for a short time. [sarahruthbeth22]
I had started another discussion and I pointed out the fact that my grandmother grew up in the Roaring Twenties...she actually WAS a flapper..LOL [pyewacket]
Oh yea, everytime I really LOVE a movie I think of how much I'd love to live that life! LOL lol I will put out a warning, you probably haven't heard of the ones I will mention, but it's ok, it's all in fun! LOL lol Number one would probably me Raise Your Voice, this one stars Hilary Duff, her character is a singer and her and her brother get in an accident, he dies and after that she kinda loses her love for singing, then she goes to a music school in the summer and basically finds her voice again and becomes and even more amazing! This movie makes me cry, but also inspires me so much because I am a singer and I aspire to make it to be successful, and find my true voice, and true self. So yea, whenever I see that movie I wish I could go to a school like that, because I have never had true musical training apart from some voice classes. Another one is a more recent Disney Channel movie, called Camp Rock, and there is a girl in that who is basically the outsider at school, and she goes to this music camp one summer and in the end she overcomes herself and performs for a crowd for the first time. I know, sounds similar to the above movie, but it's much different if you watched them. lol This one, again inspires me, and really makes me wish I had been encouraged to live my dreams when I was younger, as opposed to when I was, because I was older starting, so now I'm 25 and still not where I want to be. LOL But anyway, so those are 2 movies that I would love to live. Some others are Mean Girls, just because I'd love to be as stylish and pretty as Lindsday Lohan is in that movie, life would be more interesting. And also, Confessions of A Teenage Drama Queen, because the lead in that is also completely crazy about music and wants to be an actress and performer. Anyway, told ya you wouldn't know them. LOL ;) But basically, those are the ones I'd love to live through! :) [greysfreak]
You're right, I haven't heard of those movies...then I'm an old fogey...LOL The idea there about not wanting to be where I wanted to be...oh, how I can relate to that...I had a lot of weird detours and set backs in my life....for instance I thought I would have hit my stride by 30..uh nope...I'm 52 now, but still have a LOT of hope that I will accomplish everything...if you want to hear something weird..when I was sixteen I went to a psychic fair..I had my palm read...among some of the things mentioned to me was that I would be very successful in life but a late bloomer..then I've had other people tell me that they sense success in life....so???? Who knows.? Mmm..going with the theme of being an outsider and not fitting in..did you ever see that movie Powder? Really great and cried my eyes out at the end. [pyewacket]
Gone With The Wind is the movie I would like to go back in time to. I just love everything about that movie. Atlanta is one of my favorite cities and since I'm from the south I would make a great Scarlet. We have a lot in common we are both spoiled rotten. lol [scarlet2000]
My ancestors originally settled in VA...so I have southern roots in me too...LOL. Gone with the Wind wasn't exactly an easy time to be in with the "war"--I had ancestors who fought in it...might add..both sides, but my direct line were the Rebels. [pyewacket]
Well, i wanna be jamie sullivan of A Walk to Remember. She is smart, simple, and pretty inside and out. And wow, who couldnt resist Landon? Yeah, i can die at the end of the story, at least iv proven the true love exists. I also want to make the Harry Potter world real. I wanna be hermione or cho chang or ginny... And imagine how much magic i could do? then suddnly there will be peace in the world... hmmmm... i can do that in one spell... Ok, I'll be Rose Dawson of titanic but then i wouldnt throw the diamond necklace to the sea! I would prefer to be Arwen in LOTR, or a human falling in love with an elf or hobbit. Then i would live in the shire. Wow, that means peaceful living on the green fields with friendly hobbits in sight. Actually there are more in my mind... I'll try to post new ones later on... ciao! [pearl1003]
I kind of identify with Hermione Granger since as a kid I always was studying and had my nose in a book...LOL And wouldn't mind flying a broom...hey great way to save on gas/oil I loved Rose Dawson too..what a great character, right? I loved that scene where she spits in Cal's face..heehe..he WAS such a snob [pyewacket]
Hi pyewacket... I like the pirates part very much...happy Johnny Depp's character in the movie was awesome and i love to be such a character... Have a great day... CHEERS!!! [akrockz]
I'm a pirate nut too. And LOVE Depp's Jack Sparrow [pyewacket]
If I was a person in a film, it would be Mr Dowd in Harvey, and its may be strange to say but I actually live it each day ;-) Harvey 1950 with Jimmy Stewart This explains why I actually live the film ;-) http://harvey.travellerspoint.com/74/ [fmuldowney]
Wow...that is some website you have...didn't get a chance to read it all, but watched the videos...I think we all have a Harvey in our lives, don't you think?happy [pyewacket]
I had a very similar discussion on what family in a tv series would you like to belong too, for movies I find it more difficult to answer. Perhaps maybe being cleopatra would be nice, If it is a time in the past I would have to have money and influence because it was harder to live in those times than it is today, we complaint of not having money but we don't have to worry about dying from the common flu, or plague or childbirth, or even having an operation and dying of infection because the surgeon did not sterilize his hands, being a history major in my early days of university, I learned of all the diseases and suffering past generations went through that we today take for granted. [winterose]
Ironically in some ways diseases was more rampart I think once "doctors" became the norm and accepted form of medical help..they poo-pooed the natural and herbal means of healing...my great-grandmother was a stickler for the "old" cures and was a mid-wife as well, never took anything stronger than aspirin and lived to be 98. I do remember for instance, since I'm a Civil War buff...that yes, soldiers were more likely to die from infections of their wounds than the wounds themselves as it was the practice not to clean surgical instruments....the surgeons would just dunk the instruments in the already infected, and bloody water to "clean" it and move on to the next patient..ewww [pyewacket]
I guess I would really like to be in Oz. I've always loved the books, and while I had issues with the movie, it is still wonderful. I think I might prefer living in the Emerald City tho. But in the north, where the color is purple would be awesome. I sure would like to meet Glenda the Good and Ozma - well, I am a book fan after all. I even wrote a fan story about Oz. http://www.fanfictionwriters.com/Fics/viewstory.php?sid=400 [ElicBxn]
You know it's funny, I never read the Oz books..LOL..maybe something to do in the future...LOL [pyewacket]
hi pyewacket! happy i would want to be in the Harry Potter story too. i would be awesome to possess magic! it would be nice to go to Hogwarts and live there while learning magic. the place itself is already full of magic! and i want to experience the adventures that Harry and his friends experienced. but if i could actually live like one of my favorite movies, i would like to live as Princess Kasumi in the movie DOA: Dead or Alive. the movie is action-packed with the main characters being all females who can kick azz! and i want to be a girl who can kick azz and still remain beautiful, hot and sexy. ^__~ the movie was a great adventure too, the place was perfect and all other characters were interesting. it would be really amazing to experience that. happy [secretbear]
Sorry that I'm only getting to this after all this time..LOL. You know who is another kick azz female character? Lara Croft! Ever see those movies? She's a definite strong female character and looks gorgeous to boot...heehee [pyewacket]
If I wanted to lead a life of a character, it would be one of the pilots on the deck of the starship enterprise of the star trek series. I know it was first a serial but a movie was made. I would love to travel to different worlds in the universe and meet up fight or defend yourself in regards to those inhabitants. [anuraa30]
I agree totally agree [anuraa30]
I'm sooo... sorry for coming in so late. However, as far as I'm concerned, I can't say about any particular movie, but my only dream is to have enough money to spend rest of my life happily with my family. [suruchi86]
I think that's a goal we would all like to see happenhappy [pyewacket]
I would like to be in miss. Conegenialty, like Sandra Bullock. I love all of her movies, and love the romance and comedy. So just anyone of hers would be good. Next would be Julia Roberts, any one of hers would be ok too!I have a slight crush on Nickolaus Cage, so I would not mind being in a movie with him. [eaforeman6]
I love Sandra Bullock and she's fantastic in all her movies. And yes, Julia Roberts as well. Mmmm...since you like Nick Cage ever see him in City of Angels with Meg Ryan? He was great in that [pyewacket]
What a fun question! If I could like a movie, it would probably be as Beetlejuice. It would be fun to haunt people and think up and try new practical jokes. I don't think I'd want to be alive again, I'd be having too much fun. [catdla1]
Wow..I haven't seen that movie in ages....did love it. [pyewacket]
Well I always love Harry Potter and Charmed. In Harry Potter, my fave character would be Harry Potter ( duh ) but if I can't be Harry Potter then I better be Voldemort LOL they have so many similar traits. So basicly if I can't be good then I must be evil LOL In Charmed, I think it would be cool to live a life as Chris Perry. He can travel back to the past and cool powers too. Tho he has a big brother complex but hey who doesn't if they have a powerful brother as wyatt :D [010878]
I identify a lot with the Hermione Granger character I think..you know the bookworm? As for the Charmed gals...wouldn't mind some of their powers..LOL [pyewacket]
Pye's Mommy... In my town we've had a restaurant called Rivendells and it was a treat to take everyone there since it was painted like it and the waitstaff dressed up like they were from there, but sadly the owner passed and so her children closed the restaurant... I'm like you the more of a fantasy the more I want to be like it.. thanks for the Halloween card! huggs [Rosekitty]
Oh wow that must have been some restaurant..so everyone dressed like elves? Did they have Lembas bread there? Heehee... [pyewacket]
