I mean the one you used almost a whole box of tissues while watching, kept crying for a while after it was over, really depressing SADDEST movie. Convince me this is the one to see or rent.

Titanic was one that had me in tears.. that is a great movie no matter how many times you watch it. [jennifer611]
For me the saddest movie I ever saw was Ghost. I cry everytime I see it. Its sad because you know how much the girl loves her man and then he is killed. Its really hard for me to explain but it breaks my heart every time. Then when she is able to communicate with him through the psychic, its happy and sad. I'm happy because she is able to communicate with him but sad because he can't be there with her. Then in the end, he has to leave again. I know I didn't do a good job explaining it but if you have not seen this movie, I think its a good one to see. [brendalee]
Oh, I agree with you, what a tearjerker! [Bee1955]
Life Is Beautiful by Roberto Benigni. It was the most heart-warming film i ever watched. It made me realize how lucky i am to be born after the era of world war 2 has ended. [amira_milka]
Great movie! It is sad but it has its uplifting moments. [TereFaerie]
It's a really old movie, I'm not sure if you can rent it anymore, it's called "Who will love my Children" made in 1983, it's about a woman who finds out she has cancer and she has about 10 kids with her husband and they make this decision to adopt all their children out to different families before she dies but she has to split them up to 10 different familes, it's just heartbreaking!!! [bedazzled78]
i love sad movies so i have so many favorites but the last time i cried watching a movie was with "if only" starring jennifer love hewitt. theres was this scene where she's at the hospital and she found out that her boyfriend died..the scene was just so heartbreaking [sweetmia]
That is a hard thing for me to do as I am very sensitive person. I cry at almost anything. I think the one that I cried the most at lately is "fried green tomatoes". I really dont remember why though. I dont watch too many movies [villageanne]
That one makes me cry, too! Kathy Bates is wonderful. And I just love the book, which makes me cry just as much! [TereFaerie]
there`s The Notebook and Leaving Las Vegas (with Nicholas Cage). they were both sad, i don`t wanna say why unless you`ve seen them-don`t wanna give them away [memyselfnandi]
I would have to say "Sophie's choice" with Merryl Streep. It is about the worst decision any woman has to make when faced in a situation like that. I cried, it impacted me very much, and I don't think any other movie has impacted me so much... Also "Mar Adentro" or "The sea inside" about the real story of a man that commits suicide. This one was very sad and I also cried a lot for many reasons. [berlinlife]
I just seen this korean movie called "windstruck". It really does made me cry. It's a good movie, I just don't know if it's available in your country. Oh and the movie CLick also starring Adam Sandler... it was a comedy but there was a scene there that will really make you cry. Watch it. It's a good film...it will make you laugh and cry. [alpha_scan]
A Walk to Remember, for sure. [Eisenherz]
MAN IN THE MOON it is several years old but so good. i tried for years to find it. i mean like from the mid 90's I found it last year on dvd I gave it to my 16 year old and she loved it too. [joannavon]
This movie is the first one I ever saw Reece Witherspoon in and she is wonderful. It is a tearjerker, though. [TereFaerie]
windstruck, its a korean film, love story of a police woman and a physics teacher. they met in such a very funny way. Its a comedy drama actually. try to watch it. [livecon_1]
hmm i think for me it would be man on fire or peral harbour, those got a tear in my eye, but i dont cry during movies very often i almost cried over the SAW movies.....cuz they were so good lol [Fallen_Gurl]
life is beautiful.. very touching movie... and When The Last Sword is Drawn or Mibugishiden, a japanese movie, a story about Shinsengumi [hideyoshi]
"The Notebook"..my criteria for considering a movie as a sad one is when you think about it after you've seen it and you still cry over the images or the subject matter of the movie. A tearjerker for the movie "The Notebook" is the thought of not giving up on the one you love until finally you have her, but then, after you've gotten her, there's this situation you are faced that tests your love for her everyday. FYI, the movie is like Adam Sandler's movie "50 First Dates" but with a serious treatment. it's not amnesia but alzeimer's that the leading man has to deal with, as it is what afflicts his wife. The movie shows the story of how they came together. Knowing the history of their love affair is what would make the viewer understand the difficulty the husband goes through everyday he sees his wife. BUt then, if it were love it shouldn't be difficult, right? Well, the movie makes the viewer feel that that is not all true. [recidivist20]
This one even made my husband cry! [TereFaerie]
The saddest scene from a movie for me was Old Yeller(and I am NOT that old) and will still shed more than a tear or two for it. [lonewolfnan]
Animal movies always make me cry, but that new(ish) movie 8 Below is quite a tear jerker. [TereFaerie]
The Elephant Man made me cry...it was heart breaking. [brimia]
all movies wth sad ending are sad n i hate to watch em [chocklitchip]
Nice question. Well, there's actually only one movie that can do this to me so severely. I watch it annually in December and every time it does the same to me. The movie is It's a Wonderful Life. Jimmy Stewart was at his best in this movie and so was Donna Reed. I could watch it 50 times and soak a tissue 50 times. :-) It's good to be reminded sometimes about how important each of us is, I think. [katiedoubleu]
Have you ever seen The Power of One? While it is just one sad thing after another for poor PK, he just keeps trying. This movie is long and is set in South Africa, so you may find some of the scenes hard to take. [TereFaerie]
definitely Titanic, lol (but heartwarming at the same time) Also A Walk To Remember.. those movies are two of ma all time faves!! [guitarchick88]
Titanic, The Passion of Christ, Life is beautiful. were the movies made me upset for a long time. [mrscinxav]
One of my favorites is "Stepmom" with Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon. Obviously, there is a stepmom involved, and the exwife is dying of cancer. There is especially one line in the movie that gives me goosebumps...Stepmom says.."My biggest fear is that every moment I'm with them, they'll(the kids) be wishing I was you." (or something like that) their mother says "and my biggest fear is that they won't." It's such a sad movie...I can't imagine going through that..and then of course they (mom and stepmom) end up "friends" by the end. [jsgrand0]
I got 2 : "The passion of the Christ" for obvious reasons and "A.I" (Artificial Intelligence) is a story about a robot children that you could easily mistake for a real child. It is so heart breaking when he has to leave the family who adopted him , he spends all his "life" looking for his mom but the saddest part to me was at the end when he can revive his mother's memory but only once ... it is just so sad ... his never ending love for his mother ....OMG tears are even coming right now from remembering that movie ... If you wanna cry, go get it ... a ver very moving movie [ricknkae]
I rarely cry. But one of the sadddest films I've seen was The English Patient. An epic romance with a sad ending. [sarahruthbeth22]
Sethu is the sadest flim,I have ever seen ,Its a tamil movie (an indian lanuage).I was affected my movie by three days ,especiealy beacause of that climax when showing the heroienes dead body and that sad song.... [varun121]
Man in The Moon, the lead actor died because he was so in love. He was hit by the tracktor he was driving. and why he was hit? Because he was so happy he fell on the vehicle. [crycutie]
Imitation of Life. Great Movie but there were two versions. The one in Color and the earlier version in Black and white. [WAHSIS]
And the Pursuit of Happyness is another tear jerker. Sad in the beginning but happy tears at the end. [WAHSIS]
