what is your favourite romantic movie?
sleepless in seattle? youve got mail? gone with the wind? titanic?
mine is anne of green gables. in the continuing story (made in 2000) anne shirley and gilbert blythe finally get married during the early days of world war 1 and being a doctor, gilbert decides to enlist to serve for his country (canada!) and goes off to france.
anne stays at green gables and gets all the letters that she has written to gilbert returned to her. she decides to go to europe amidst the fighting and search for her husband.
how romantic is that?

My favorite romantic movie would have to be Just Married. IT has ashton kutcher in it and it is absolutely hilarious. Even with the many funny parts, there is also a great overall story to the movie. The movie is about a young couple that rushes into marriage, and then they get to really know each other on their honeymoon. The movie was really good [lakers247]
Well for the longest time my favorite was Overboard. It has goldie hawn and kurt russel in it. She loses her memory and he brings her home to take care of his kids to punish her for not paying him. she thinks she is the kids mother and at first she hates it but then she loves her life. When she gets her memory back she leaves and goes back to her rich life but she isn't happy without her family. So she goes back to him. But anyways, now my favorite is the Notebook. It is a great story of the couple meeting and their love being so strong they stay together. He tells the story of their love to remind his love that has Alzheimer's. He stays by her side in the nursing home even though she can't remember who he is. At the end he goes to see her and she remembers and he lays with her and they hold hands and die together in their sleep. [ravinskye]
I love Kirt Russell. Not too keen on this film though as he is mean to her and I want him all to myself. [magicalmerlin]
I do enjoy the classics like An Affair to Remember. I liked Titanic untilhe dies in the end. I can't handle a romantic movie where they don't end up together. I find myself being drawn to the romantic comedies more than anything else. My favorite is probably While You Were Sleeping. It stars Sandra Bulock and Bill Pullman as Lucy ( a public transportation...CTA...employee in Chicago) and Jack who works for his dad's estate sales business. They meet and fall in love through a comedy of errors and misunderstandings. It has a great cast of quirky characters and it's a movie that just makes me feel good in the end. A couple of other favorites are Return to Me and Moonstruck. [uicbear]
I am surprised the Notebook didn't make the cut or even Memoirs of a Gesha. Who wouldn't see Noah and Ally finally have that unforgetable moment of the kiss. or when Saykura ( i don't know how to spell her name) but whenshe and the Chair man have that one scene at the end is so romantic. i love it. I haven't seen the Notebook yet but my favourite is 50 First Dates. She is reliving the one day over and over as she had a car crash. It tells about other people with brain injuries that remember for a shorter time even than that. It is so sad. The hero persuades her family that it is best to try and help her move on as best they can. I won't say more in case others haven't seen it but make sure you have some hankies available when you do. there are so many romantic stories, titanic is so wonderful with the man dying for his love, I also love ghost where patrick swayze comes back from the grave to save his love from getting murdered. [winterose]

My favorite romantic movie is LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL.This is a nice movie which everyone should watch.This movie explains what a person can do for his love towards his wife but it has a tragic end. [ganak8]

I saw the original installments of Anne of Green Gables. I really liked it. My sister has it on DVD. Some of my favorite romantic movies are While You Were Sleeping, Ever After, and Wild Hearts Can't be Broken. If you haven't seen Wild Hearts Can't be Broken, than I really suggest you rent it. My faviorte romantic movie of all time has to be the classic Pretty Women. Julia Roberts and Richard Gere are amazing in every movie they are in. I go visit my grandmother alot and she thinks Richard Gere is one of the sexiest men alive. I just love how in Pretty Women she transforms her life. Hi cher, I like all the movies that you have mentioned. Gone with the wind is a superb classic but i feel it is much more than just romance, there is a lot more to it. I would say that Titanic is the most heartbreakingly romantic movie of all times.It is very touching and a great watch. I would have to say I love the movie Cold Mountain. I dont usually like romances but I really like this one. The way they fall in love without ever really knowing each other and are faithful to each other. I like the humor in the movie. Not really a romantic to be honest, and I tend to steer clear of slushy romance, in favour of horror or sci fi movies. However I have to admit that one film I have watched over and over and over again and never get sick of and that is Muriel's Wedding, if you haven't seen it, it's a definite must. I love it, Toni Collette is brilliant as Muriel, it's sad too, but the Abba theme just adds to it and yes I do have the film in my dvd collection. I also like Perfect Man, because the story is very inspiring and unusual. I like Indonesian movie Ada Apa Dengan Cinta. I think it is the first time I saw such romantic scene. I was teenager at the time it is launched and it is a perfect match because the story is about the love between two high school students. There is one perfectionist and popular girl namedCinta. She is unusually falling in love with a geek and nerd but expert in literature named Rangga. There are many conflicts in their love story until Rangga left Indonesia to US. Rangga promises to return to Indonesia for Cinta. [masata]
