The Movie Slumdog Millionaire

I just watched Slumdog Millionaire last night. I really like it. It really made me cry and be brave at the same time. It really make me laugh at the beginning especially when the boy jumped into the bowl of poop/feces just to see his Favorite Actor. Good thing the Actor isn't disgust on the awful smell. I really hate the attitude of Salim the big brother of Jamal. But in the end of the story. I am amazed because he still know how to ask for apology even just mentioned it to Latika. I did learn something from the Episode of " Who wants to be a millionaire ". I really like the story. The life of people in Indian is really hard kind of state. Full of struggles and bloodshed. How about you did you enjoy the movie " Slumdog Millionaire "?

Honestly kent, I saw many more movies that touched me - which because of cultural differences - outsiders would not understand. Slumdog Millionaire didnt strike me as extraordinary movie - though I would classify it as a very good movie out of the movies that are released each year. And as to music score, I heard so many of AR Rehman's numbers that were far superior to this music that I am shocked he got an Oscar for this one. Hope he realizes that many Indians prefer his other numbers, and nobody is singing his Slumdog Millionaire music. [vandana7]

That movie got a lot of awards months ago! Very good movie! I've watched that movie on my PC a couple of times, i copied the movie from my friend. I could watch it over and over and get touched again and again! The life in India is not far from some parts of the Philippines! You're right, the first part of the movie, the toilet part is hilarious! imagine getting poop all over your body? I learned from a news segment a couple of months ago that the Salim, Jamal and Latika children actors were really from the slums. After the movie boomed, they were able to move in a better home. I love that movie. i enjoyed watching it and learned a lot from the movie. i only felt bad when i learned about what happened to the kids who play the little jamal, salim and latika who were evicted from where they lived...i love the last part, the song and dance number...jaiho. [msfrancisco9369]

ya i like but not alot but dont think that every body here is living the same life . that can be a story of some certain category. as you know it is a country of nearly 1200 millions people and a big number of stories reside here. just there is a need to find out some better one and i think the one here is the script for the movie you have just seen. but frankly speaking it was a good movie but not very good. To tell you the truth I did nit like the movie a bit as it is only fantasy. I do not think that things like this happen in India. Anyway's if you like this movie check this movie out "Astitva" it is a story about a women and you will really be touched. [avani26]

Oh Yes. I saw this movie a while back and I just loved it ! Lakita is so beautiful [LadyBoss]
I watched that film last year and I like it. The story is great and the situation of India is not far from us. I like the face of Latika and Jamal is a great actor too. The movies who always won the Oscar's award are the movies who can captured the heart of the judges and very inspirational. [agv0419]

oh I am dying to see that movie I have heard so much about that movie [enola1692]

The thread of the movie is very good. This kind of life (life in the slums) happens in most of the underdeveloped and developing countries. I like the movie very much. But here in India a section of people is against the movie. Their argument is that this film is marketing the poverty of India. Anyway a nice movie to watch [mdvarghese]

I did see it in the theatre. I couldn't stop crying uncontrollable like a baby. It was so real. Then I found it was real because the little boy star really lived in that slum. And then they tore his shack down. It's just so sad. [coffeegurl]

Yes I saw this movie a while back it was so good. What a story and what a horrible way so many live. The movie was done so well, I loved the two main characters they were so good together. I also loved the music and dance they did at the end of the movie. I believe the movie won and Oscar for best movie if I'm not mistaken. [lelin1123]

yeah living in India is some kind of struggle without knowing anything specially if you are a beggar and use by those bad people to earn for their own sake using those children it is so inhumane, that movie tells us and shows us lessons and everything.. [john_ronald]

That movie is great. The way the questions were related with his life was just impressive! It's a great story, if you have the opportunity, please take some time to watch this movie. [bigcheese]

I enjoyed the movie from the start to end. I am surprised to see some one outside India likes the film which is purely showing India in the poor part. The way the story moves is quite good and interesting. [vijiboopathy]

I saw slumdog millionaire for the first time a few weeks ago and i think it is one of the best movies ive seen. well, it's certainly up there :) I think its such a great story and so well written the way it jumps back and forwards. Some bits a sad but all around its still quite a feel good movie :) [adamc151]

The movie was a great movie I really like the song and the dancing that ent with it. That was one of the best things. It was hard and brutal but most of those kinds of things happen everyday somewhere in the black community here in America. so that was nothing new. [Sourceseeker]

I woud like to see this movie but have not yet seen it. I am always fascinated by life in India and would like to travel there sometime. When the movie first came out at the cinema I wanted to see it, but the time it was on did not suit us, so we saw something else. Now that it is available on DVD, I will have to rent it out! [RawBill1]

I only seen some of it. But it won an Oscar award last year. They say it's good like you, but I did enjoy the parts that I seen [gogierm4ge]

Back when it was released at the cinema I saw a load of trailers for Slumdog Millionaire and it did not interest me in the slightest. Those reasons were because it was a Danny Boyle film and I can't stand him as a producer and I didn't think the film looked that good. I won't be seeing it. [lakerfanster]

I watched this movie and it made me sad because I saw the innocent children to be suffering. I am glad that finally this movie has a good happy ending. At least it makes me feel better. But it still makes me upset for those poor children which live in that kind of environment today. It is the real life more than a movie. I love China [youless]

I love Slumdog. My friend don't understand the story and she did not enjoy the film because there was no gorgeous guys. me I understand the story clearly and I love Jamal no matter what he looks like. I like the suspense when the host of Who wants to be a millionaire put a letter when they were on the men's room. fortunately he did not follow the letter and he won. And after that, his winning became dubious, he was arrested for investigation. I like how the story flows. Everything on Jamals life are connected to the question on the show. I admire the director of the film, the scriptwriter and the full cast. They deserved the award they received. [grecychunny26]
I find Jamal cute, loving and caring. Despite of what happen to Latika. Latika was really fortunate to have Jamal. [kent_help2smile]

yes, i watch that movie. and i like it so much.. it inspire me most. like never surrender, what ever the wall behind you, don't surrender you have to fight for it for the one you love and for the future that you have dream off.. it can strenghten your faith [Cherwin2010]

I also enjoy watching this movie because of the story of salim and his way on winning the jackpot on the gameshow. [doncruise21]

Slumdog Millionaire is a entertaining movie. But does it deserve Oscar???. I am not so sure. There are so many more Bollywood with many such emotions and messages which deserve. I think you should watch Taare Zameen Par. It is really good and better than Slumdog Millionare. [goodfundadvisor]

it was just another masala movie for me .. as most said, there aew so many other movies which actually are more emotional.. as it is ar rahman has some good songs other then this on .. [sanjana_aslam]

I loved the movie. It has more than just about being in India because I think it shows how poor people are looked upon. That the kid did so good answering the questions and people didn't think it possible that a poor boy could be so smart is universal. [RobtheRock]

I loved the movie! I just watched it about a month ago and was totally captured throughout it. I didn't even notice how long it was and that is a rarity for me and my schedule. Awesome movie! [JenInTN]

in 2008, there are some movies that is definitely better than Slumdog. I feel that Slumdog is just a good story about poverty, with a love and the "Who Wants to Be A MIllionaire" twist. Other than that, i don't feel anything when I went out from the theatre. i came from developing countries, so I'm not that surprised to see the life of the poor people in India, which might came of as shocking and surprising to big country like US. [sophisticated_boy]

i also watched the movie. but frankly, i didn't have concentrated in the movie at that time because we were in a party at that time. but they say that the movie is great and have a good story. [neildc]

It's true that the life of the people of India is hard but the life of a few individuals who constitute 10% of the total population is absolutely different from what you witnessed in Slumdog Millionaire. The movie is brilliant and specially the songs composed by A.R.Rahman is fantastic but I don't think the movie deserves all the laurels that it got..there were many flaws and it is really hard to believe that it won the Oscars..However, through this movie we have been able to discover Indian slums and so all credit must go to Danny Boyle..Jai Ho!
