Watching Christmas Tv When Its Not Christmas

Ok is it only me who's guilty of watching Christmas on television when it's not Christmas? Do you only watch Christmas movies at Christmas or do you watch them any time of the year? I was feeling a bit down today and I thought I know I'll watch Golden Girls always makes me laugh and cheers me up, well I watched an episode filmed at Christmas and they were giving each other Christmas presents and they were stuck in Miami and it was snowing! and dumb Rose put on a Christmas record, Surfing Uk, by the Beach Boys Bless her! I know dare I say it Christmas is only a few months away now, but have you watched a film about Christmas or an episode which is about Christmas when it's not Christmas?

Can't beat the Golden Girls and Christmas togeather!I from time to time watch Christmas shows and movies. They make me happy and touch me.So at my house it's always Golden Girl time and Christams can happen any day of the year... [MuddyMind]
Iam going to buy the box set my self.I still love them to death even after all of these years...It mad me sad also to hear about the loss of such a wonderful, funny lady leaving us... [MuddyMind]

I have watched Christmas episodes when it wasn't Christmas. Alot of times though Christmas shows make me depressed, not better. I always have alot of guilt at that time of year, thinking I wish I could hate provided more than I did. In my current financial state, its probably not a good idea for me to watch anything with a Christmas theme. I better watch Spongebob. Spongebob never seems to fail me for a good laugh. [kbourgerie]
As you know I know all about depression dear friend so I totally understand where you are coming from but I have never watched Spongebob, but laughing tonight over the Golden Girls made me feel better! [wolfie34]

If I happen to be watching TV and a Christmas episode comes up, I'll watch it. happy And sometimes I will just pop in a Christmas CD or tape, whichever is available. I love and never get enough of Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation!! happy [Wyldrose]
I have been known to listen to Christmas music throughout the year, for example I love Chris Rea, and I listen to his album often and one of the tracks Driving Home For Christmas, I play a lot of 80s music on Itunes and occasionally a Christmas song will start to play. Last Christmas by Wham as well. More often or not when you play albums there might be a Christmas track on there. [wolfie34]

Hi ya wolfie34 Well my kids have a Lazy Town DVD and the first episode on that is a Christmas one and they love it. I guess it is only a story. It's funny though because I am usually in another room when I hear this jingling of like sleigh bells and can't quite believe my ears so I go and investigate only to see them watching that DVD! [Humbug25]
Ahh Lazy Town is great you dunno what you are missing. [Humbug25]

lol I would love watching Christmas shows all year round but I usually end up waiting for the holiday season to watch them. If a Christmas episode of a show I watch is on television, it always makes me smile to see it. My favorite Christmas movie is It's a Wonderful Life and I could watch it a few times a year, but time passes so fast that I usually don't get around to doing it until December anyhow. rolleyes A few months you say? Bite your tongue! Actually it's okay because I've officially started my shopping now... over last weekend. Yay! [katiedoubleu]
Wolfie is a very clever and astute wolf, he does Christmas shopping all year round so he doesn't have to brave the mad dash just before Christmas! See I do have some clever ideas, sometimes LOL! I love Home Alone that's my favourite Christmas movie! [wolfie34]

I listen to Christmas songs in the car pal , does that count lol :) :) xx [weemam]
Course it does nan. My favourite Christmas Song is A Spaceman Came Travelling by Chris De Burgh, have you heard it, gives me goosepimples everytime I listen to it, Christmas or not! [wolfie34]

I feel that if you like a movie you should watch it as much as you want no matter what kind of movie it is. I like Santa Claus with Tim Allen and we watch it all year long. We have all three of his movies and I have to say that we watch them about six or more times a year not just at Christmas. There is a movie out called Bundle of Joy that stars Eddie Fisher and Debie Renolds. This is a christmas movie about a woman who saves a baby from falling off the steps of a foundling home. The people who run the home think that she is the real baby moma but in truth she is not. In the end she will end up keeping the baby. This is a great story and should be watched not just at Christmas time. My family also enjoy the animated christmas movies as well. These however, we only watch around the Christmas holiday. They are frosty the snowman, little drummer boy and rudolph the red nose reindeer. I do not see why you could not watch these all year but my family prefer these just around the holidays. [sizzle3000]
I love the old films, well they seem old to me now, Home Alone, wonderful family film that I never get fed up with. Why save these great films just for Christmas hey! I totally agree [wolfie34]

I used to do that when I was a small child and Christmas still excited me, but since I grew up and got burnt out on Christmas, I'm the type of evil person who likes to steal the family's Christmas CD's on Christmas day, and replace them with Hanukah music, or something more interesting like that. LOL I did this one year, and when they protested I reminded them that on the first CHRISTmas, the day we celebrate CHRIST's birth he was JEWISH, so the music I chose was more accurate! LOL They tried to argue, but coudln't. [danishcanadian]

That's ok for me, dear. Recently i have watched this movie about Santa and christmas, where he needs to get married, before christmas eve. So that, there will be a Mrs. Claus before Christmas , for Santa's gifts to be ready. There were problems with the future Mrs. Claus' family and they couldn't get everything about the wedding ready because of the holiday rush. Future Mrs. Claus, looses hope, so they called it off. So, the effect of that is everything about christmas and Christmas itself won't push through. Everyone and everything about christmas got cancelled, the world seem so sad. That is when Santa got the idea that they could still get married because there will be no more holiday rush. Got everything ready in matter of hours and the wedding went through on the day of Christmas Eve. So, there will be a Mrs. Claus on Christmas Eve after all. There, sorry i got to tell the story because i loved the movie and i love Christmas so much. Good day my friend. [sweetie1026]

Ya i do love watching Christmas movie of show even its not Christmas. I like the most Christmas movie was home alone. This movie is shown in series 1 to 4. One of the series is shoot on Christmas time when a kids is left at home and burglar in trying to get into his home where he set traps to fight the burglar at protect his house. [snpyvin]

I have watched a Christmas show when it was not around that season and I have to say that it just didn't feel right. It's out of my hands when I turn it to a show I like and they are playing a repeat meant for Christmas time, but purposely I won't watch one just because of that empty feeling I get. During the christmas season I will watch a lot of shows or movies relating to Christmas and music as well. I can never get enough of christmas music around that time. If it's a day after christmas I still can't do it. Have a nice day [nixxi76]

I love Christmas movies and/or TV shows and it doesn't have to be Christmas for me to enjoy them. That's why I'm so thankful for DVD's now because I can watch them whenever I want! We used to have to wait for them to come on TV. My kids love watching Christmas shows pretty much year-round as well. [renitaperrone]

I love watching christmas shows/movies regardless if it's Christmas season, I love the feeling that I get everytime I watch those kind of film, it never fails to give me a warm feeling and leave a smile on my face. [workinggurl]

oh yes... i do that as well once in a while... there is no rule that states you can only watch christmas movie during christmas... i can basically watch it whenever i want and feel like to... so yes... you are not the only person guilty of doing that... me too... and i enjoy christmas movie a lot... it is lots of fun and can be very touching... take care and have a nice day... [lingli_78]

Yes, I sometimes I do that. But it feels little awkward watching Christmas or other different season movies in a different season. [suruchi86]

Yeah. I am one of those who love the Christmas spirit, whether in television or even in the papers. You may have heard as well that we, Filipinos, celebrate Christmas in a very remarkable way. And it is always celebrated long before it and long after it. September usually marks start of the season here. [jaypeemanuel]

The only time I watch a Christmas movie or Christmas episode before Thanksgiving is usually one like the Golden Girls or some other rerun of a show where it is Christmas on that episode. Otherwise, I save my Christmas movies and shows til after Thanksgiving. Actually, Thanksgiving evening I always watch White Christmas with Bing Crosby, and Chevy Chase's Christmas Vacation. When we were all together at my mom and dad's for Thanksgiving we would always watch this after the Thanksgiving dinner was over, and now that I live 1600 miles away, we still all watch it, just in different time zones lol. My sister will be calling to see if I'm watching it too. [palonghorn]

When i was in philippines, month of august or september xmas tv show is on every morning but it's a children show but i still watching it.We started to play xmas film and xmas songs. So even it's not yet xmas in philippines you can really feel xmas is on the way. [rainmark]

They just had on tv the Christmas movie with Chevy Chase (I love this movie) and "Home Alone" and I got so into these movies that I didn't care it was not Christmas I really enjoy watching them again. It's not that far away my friend, it scares me sometimes when I see how fast the time is flying by, before you know it, it will be 2009! [howard96h]
Sec welcome to mylot! Sorry I did not mention it before, I had Charlie Brown and Rudolph on my mind. [howard96h]

nope, dont worry, you are not the only one that watches christmas specials at other times of the year! we yank out our taped from tv kids christmas special and watch em at different times during the year...who cares? (i start wrapping my christmas presents sometimes in sept anyway! so i am weirder than you! :-) [cher913]

No you aren't the only one. My daughter loves Christmas time. She has several of her favorite movies on disc. Everyonce in a while she pleads pleas can we watch them. So once in a while yes we watch. But not too often. Otherwise they are not as special during that time of year. [ersmommy1]

lol oh i usually watch christmas time at any time,... SOund of Music is one of my favourites, and Little Women of course (im predictable, just check out my username LOL)...anyway during the summer on tv they always play reruns of tv shows and tehre are always Christmas episodes lol those feel weird but its nice anyway :p i love the holiday season so its nice to revive it during the hot summer days [JoMarch]

I believed that Christmas starts on the month of August. so I started watching christmas movies on this month up. I love christmas season really, this is the time where i can make the most of my life happy. [worldbestwriter2008]

I have watched a few christmas movies. It is great pick me up when I feel down one day. My favorites are Home Alone, Home Alone 2, The polar express, and the grinch. They always get me in the mood for christmas. They have been playing the home alone movies alot on encore so I've watched them a few times. It just gets you ready for the christmas season even though it is a bit away. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. :) [tlb0822]

To me, wolfie, a good movie is a good movie no matter the setting. Some of my favorite movies and TV episodes are about Christmas. That special time of the year has always had a magical effect on me. I even listen to Christmas music at odd times.lol [worldwise1]

Now Wolfie Darling, I was just sitting here bathing myself in the warm sun, and content, until I came upon this discussion. You had to do it didnt you? Now not only do I want it to be snowing and cold, sos I can stay in warm and cozy, and watch Poor Little Rich Girl with Shirley Temple and eat tons of Christmas cake and Christmas Puddings with Brandy Sauce and and and LOL xooxoxoxxo Hugs [OceanTiara]

Throughout the year, I've watched several movies that's set during the holiday season. I like to watch Love Actually every now and then and last week, I think I watched While You Were Sleeping when it was on Bravo. Watching these movies make me look forward to Christmas. [SaintAnne]
