An American is Paris, and don Quixote, I love ballet and Gigi. [katyzzz]

I always love to watched dance movies. I got bored with musical movies. My favorites are save the last dance and step up. I am always a frustrated dancer and sometimes i imagine myself a dance diva. [bettyrose20]
i havent watched step up thought i have a dvd at home. probably this weekend. i guess im a frustrated dancer too. ^__^;; i have had my dancing days back in high school and college and now.. cant do it anymore. ^.^ [secretbear]

The dance movies I enjoyed are 'Save the last dance' and 'Honey'. I like both movies but I like the story plot of 'Honey' better because it focuses on a Honey's dream to teach and help kids fulfill their dreams in dancing. Honey (Jessica Alba) is a sexy, tough music video choreographer who shakes up her life after her mentor gives her an ultimatum: sleep with him or be blacklisted within their industry. [lafavorito]
i like honey too! the dancers were great although i thought at some scenes jessica alba looked awkward in dancing hiphop. and the last part of the scene where missy elliot was seen was really funny. i thought i was going to see her dance with jessica alba. too bad. ^__^ [secretbear]

I haven't seen lots of dance movies... If I have, I've forgotten all about them, lol. Dirty Dancing comes to mind. I used to watch it over and over with my friends when we were in high school. [sofia29]

My favorite dance movie would definitly be Save the last dance. For some reason that movie caught my attention. I liked how some parts were funny and some parts were serious like the part when her mom died. I have always enjoyed watching dance movies but that one is my favorite. [tgreen80]
yeah. it was really a good movie. there were some funny scenes when julia was just starting to learn hiphop. ^__^ but her boyfriend was a good teacher. this movie really made me want to dance. ^__^;; [secretbear]

one dance movie that i really enjoyed watching was the movie of jennifer lopez and richard gere. i can't remember the title but it is a story of a husband who wants to try a different thing. he always had a tidious routine so he thought that maybe he could do some change as well as have fun in doing it. what i love most about is the actors that played the roles plus the fact that this film showed that we can have many different partners in our dances but there can only be one partner for our life. [gwenmari1029]
yeah i know that movie... i also forgot the title. ^__^;; well its not a surprise if its jennifer lopez. she knows how to dance. and richard gere is so charming. i didnt know he could dance like that. ^__^ [secretbear]

if Grease counts, (but i think its a musical...) then it's Grease.... [jsumbing]
i can imagine... i guess she just know how to take care of herself. ^__^ [secretbear]

I also like some dance movies. I love Save the Last Dance and Honey. I love Honey because it is a really inspiring movies that teaches you to believe in your dreams and that you should persevere to reach it. I also love how Save the Last Dance show how important it is to bring out the real you, your desires and dreams and be thankful of people who love you and are always there for you. The soundtrack and the moves are really great and both are a good movie that dancers and those who loves watching them will really enjoy. And yeah, even those who don't might like them too. [nanayangel]
you're welcome. ^__^ [secretbear]

Well, compare to you I am old! My first "dance" movie that I actually dance to the rhythm and learned the steps, was Saturday Night Fever, with John Travolta. Then it was Grease. Other movies that I remember there was dancing but I didn't actually dance were Dirty Dancing, Moulin Rouge, All that Jazz. I know I'll remember more later, but for now that's all I can think of! [berlinlife]
wow. i didnt know john travolta did so many dance/musical movies. he's one of my favorite hollywood actors and he's just so talented aint he? ^__^ i've heard of the movies you mentioned but i havent watched any of them. ^__^ except for grease. they're old movies but they are really popular right? ^__^ [secretbear]

I never watch (save the last dance) before. XD Dance movie that i like is (you got serve)it's the most cool street dance move ever. I watch it a couple time already, still feel like watching it again when you mention dance movie. (Stomp The Yard) is also nice ,just less street dance move. [alansmile]
i know those movies! i like street hiphop too. its very upbeat and its very groovy. ^__^ [secretbear]

I have watched tons of movies about dancing. I am not sure if I would choose Honey, or You got Served. But damn, who cares, I will collect a copy of each of them someday^_^ [MrPahn]
hahaha.. i'd like to collect a lot of dance movies too.. but im hesitant coz they might get lost since many people would borrow it and some of them are too lazy to return them. [secretbear]

I recently watched a movie starring Antonio Banderas about a dance instructor teaching students from a public school in New York. I forgot the title but the movie was good. Can somebody tell me the title? [NBABlogger]
oh god, i forgot what it is! but i've watched that too! ^__^;; i'll tell you i remember it okay?? [secretbear]

It would be a classic but my answer will be Dirty Dancing. I've really enjoyed watching that movie lots of years ago. But actually i am not a dance movie watcher. [zabawaus]
there was a sequel to that movie right? but i havent watched either of them. hehe.. ^__^;; [secretbear]

I think Save the Last Dance is great but i prefer Step Up. I think the stroyline is better and the dancing is amazing. I originally watched it because i think Channing Tatum is so hot and i wanted to see if he could dance as well as act(He can!) The acting in it is fab and the soundtrack is also just as good as, if not better, than Save the Last Dance. I'd highly recommend it. [hailie17]
I've watched Step up too and its great. I loved the dancing and i really wanted to be a part of it. ^__^;; sometimes i think if i have just grown in the "right" environment, i probably would have became a dancer. ^__^ [secretbear]

I like Save The Last Dance, Honey, You Got Served, Take The Lead (starring Antonio Banderas, playing real-life ballroom dancing legend Pierre Dulaine, who teaches ballroom dancing to students in detention at an inner city school). I also like Shall We Dance? (a romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lopez and Richard Gere). =) [josan181237]
i've watched them except for shall we dance. i didnt think jennifer lopez and richard gere look together on-screen. ^__^ [secretbear]

I watched "Grease" those Fred Astaire with Ginger Rogers movies, "Dirty Dancing", "Footloose," "Singing in the Rain," and others that I do not know the names of right at the moment. I like the Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers movies as I am an old movie fan. It is amazing how good the actors are, especially if they are not natural dancers and have to learn the steps and it sure makes the movie move along. [suspenseful]
i love grease and footloose. john travolta is really amazing. have you watched hairspray?? he was awesome there, playing as a female, a big momma! i was really amazed there. john travolta is a very versatile actor. ^__^ [secretbear]

I love dirty dancing.i have seen this movie so many times, and can atch it over and over.it is not only that great dancing there and music, but also becuase it is so romantic.Another one I like is greace.I am not saying I am dancing when I watch them, but I really enjoy iy. [laurika]
I guess when you watch a dance movie you feel like dancing but you really don't dance when you watch it. you just feel their feeling of enjoyment while they are dancing. ^__^ [secretbear]

i watched it too. save the last dance and dirty dancing 1 and 2.and there are others i forgot the title i have some belly dancing dvd from my friends in lebanon, and i realy like to dance beley dancing it was sexy.and a good execised too. [wishme_luck]
haha.. yeah.. I tried belly dancing at home but I didn't continue it just because I don't have the time. ^__^;; my officemates tried it too. they belly danced for a week or two but didn't really continue because they thought it had no effects. LOL I think its because they don't really do it regularly. ^__^;; [secretbear]

i like watching dance movies ,my alltime favourite is the classic Saturday Nights Fever starring John Travolta...... i love to watch him strutting through streets to the tune of the Bee Gees classic Stayin Alive [iamsree]
hi iamsree! indeed, john travolta looked flashy and awesome when he danced like that. he's a very good actor and dancer. happy [secretbear]

I haven't seen lots of dance movies... but I enjoy seeing dance movies. My Favorite dance movies are of which I saw are in order : 1. Dancemaker 2. Swing 3. Save the Last Dance 4. Shall We Dance? 5. Girls Just Want to Have Fun [t_sireesha04]

so far i have only watched 2 dance movies and they are, dirty dancing and Step up ^_^ it's hard to make a choice between the 2 movies because the dances are different.. But i will prefer, Step up.. As in the movie, they combine both hip hop with ballet and makes the whole movie so interesting.. In the end, a very nice yet graceful hip hop ballet dance came up and i was hooked to that movie ^_^ [kun2349]
haha ^_^ I'm sure u will be able to do that, secret.. hehe HAve u watched STep up 2 to the streets?? I missed it :( I seen from the trailer and i know there are lotsa dances in the movie and it's done by the blacks.. It must be very nice!! :( [kun2349]

Greese, Footloose, Dirty Dancing, Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire movies, and Coyote Ugly. Singing in the Rain and Footloose are my favorites. I haven't really watched any movies with hip hop in them. I have done some hip hop with videos or on fit TV. It's fun. Take care [writersedge]
thanks for the response writersedge! that's a lot of dance movies you've watched! i watched coyote ugly too! i like it! i wish i can dance on a bar like that too! lol [secretbear]

hi,bear. i also like watching them,i like the dance step and the music too.the most thing i like is their passion of dancing, they enjoyful looks they show when they are dancing. oh,my favorite?i don't see much, because i don't watch tv often now.so it's kailewuzhe, can't remember it clearly(always can't remeber clearly).i just pay attention to the sences. it shows a bad boy who loves jiewu(Chinese)and basketball distroyed the dance school and was punished to clear the school and then he loves the girl and help her. just like this.this is my best level to describ it. [kuer86]
hi kuer! i'm sure that was a very nice film. i also enjoy seeing dancers feeling their dances. that it clearly shows in their faces that they love dancing and can't live without it. happy [secretbear]

i love "save the last dance" and also "grease"... I also like "bring it on" but its just number two to me... [flomikren]
thanks for the response flo. happy [secretbear]

My mom and I just love dance movie. I think we saw them all and she own almost all of them. I think that my favorite is you got served. I just love the dancing routine in it. The Hip Hop dance are so good. I don,t know how many time I watched the end of the movie lol [beyonce03]
hi beyonce! i wasn't able to watch You Got Served but i really wanted to. i loved its trailer the first time i saw it! i like watching hiphop dancing and i actually want to dance it too. happy [secretbear]

I love " Save the Last Dance" and "Dirty Dancing" the best! Save the Last Dance had a lot of great choreography moves, and the fact that they are very easily done for those who are rhythm inclined when it comes to music. I personally learned them quick, and enjoyed dancing to them, but for those that aren't so experienced, this is a very good movie to introduce them to hip hop and the moves that have been taking over the clubs for year. Dirty Dancing is great, because it is very similar to the lambada and many dances that are in that movie have also helped to produce much of the moves today. It is somewhat close to reggae, in the sense that those moves require to be close to your dance partner. I think there is a lot to be learned from movies and the choreography that is seen within them. Dancing is definitely a silent communication between people, but so much can be said by just one step. :] [Phenomenal1]
hi phenomenal! i can feel that you really love dancing! to say that dancing is a silent communication between people just shows that you just don't love dancing, but you're serious with it! i wanted to learn the steps in Save the Last Dance but i don't have its video. if i just have it i think i can learn it especially Julia Stiles piece when she was auditioning. happy [secretbear]

I have watched many kinds of dance movies and shows. We love to watch,"Dancing With the Stars". But as far as movies are concerned then I would have to say,"Saturday Night Fever" and "Singing in the Rain."Gene Kelly was agreat dancer. [dfollin]
thanks for the response dfollin. i don't know who Gene Kelly is but Saturday Night Fever is really a good movie. happy [secretbear]

i love the movie the centerstage. made me wish i am a great dancer, and a ballerina. saw dancing as an art and a way of life. [misshoney]
thanks for the response misshoney. whenever i see great dancers, i also wish that i was the same like them. i thought if i had the right connections when i was younger, i'm probably a dancer now. lol [secretbear]

Well; as far as Western Dance Movies are considered ;I might have watched parts of some on TV . Yet ;I do not recall having watched a full such Movie . As for Bollywood Movies;most of these have a song and dance sequence and I have watched a lot of these. happy [ptrikha1]
thanks for the response ptrikha. i've never watched any Bollywood movies but i've seen DVD tapes of belly dancing and i must say, Indians are really great belly dancers. happy [secretbear]

I have to agree. "Save the last dance" starring Julia Stiles & Sean Patrick Thomas is also my favorite movie. I went to see it when it came out in the theaters & I instantly knew after watching it that I was going to buy it on DVD as soon as it came. I loved the characters & the dancing. I even loved some of the music. I am not into rap, but the music wasn't all rap & the songs that were I actually liked LOL. [robsbrooklyngirl]
yeah. i liked the music there too! when Julia Stile were auditioning for that school, i felt like i wanted to audition and dance too. lol [secretbear]

I'm not a fan of dancing in general and so I haven't really watched any. But I have seen Honey, which I was outvoted by friends in choosing a movie to watch. It wasn't too bad, but in general, I'm more into music (instruments) and sport rather than dancing. [8ctavarium]
thanks for the response 8ctavarium. Honey was a good movie. Jessica Alba can dance but i didn't think she was great there. happy [secretbear]

I love Save the Last Dance movie. I like Julia Stiles talent of acting as well. Anyway, I guess I've watched this movie a lot of times purposely because I like the story. I actually watch her performance, the audition..?, in youtube. It was there, so nice steps. [MGjhaud]
her audition is in youtube?? great! i'll watch it again. thanks for telling me that. happy [secretbear]
