What Do You Like And Dislike About Movie Theatres

I think I am starting to have more dislikes about them then likes now a days. How do you feel about movie theatres? The things that I like about them is getting out and seeing a good movie, catching previews of new movies coming out and just relaxing either by myself, friends for family. The things that I dislike is the cost to see a movie is too high, the concessions are too high, sometimes the concession lines are too long and have few workers, and the theatres are filthy.

responses and comments:

Noisy people who refuse to turn off their damn cell phones during the movie! [82idiots]
Very true Buddy...their Tring-Tring SICK phones and passing comments while the movie is going on is very Annoying'..! [nash2060]

I can't tell youthe last time i actually wen t to a movie theatre.. I stopped going when the cost went over 7.00 per person. I enjoy a movie much more when I can sit home on my own couch and or bed and watch the movie, I can stop it when I want to go to the bathroom or get a snack. Some of my firend say that there are certain movies you just have to see in the theatre, I just don't really miss the lines, the cost and the sticky floors! [shambuca]
I too enjoy watching movies at home and being able to pause it to use the restroom or get something to eat. No worrying about missing parts of the movie for bathroom or snack breaks. The lines were horrible today at the concession stand. [kgwat70]

Well what i like about movie theatres is the movie experience; a movie in the theatre always looks cooler then a movie you see at home. What I don't like about the movie theatres is like you said the popcorn on the ground. I work in a theatre in the summer and i always have to clean all the popcorn! Thats why i never buy popcorn when i go to watch a movie. [FishStick]
I never buy popcorn at a theatre either and usually get something to eat before arriving at the theatre to avoid the high costs of the food. I hate seeing food on the ground and cups. The surround sound is great and seeing a movie on a large screen is very nice. [kgwat70]

I like the fact that they show the movie on multiplexes. What I don't like about them is that they costs too much. Even the bargain matinee is crazy. The concession workers also don't acknowledge me when I am in line. I can't stand going to them anymore. [garfield8]
Today was the first time in a while that I had been to the theatre and I could tell it got worse there. I was given a gift card during christmas which is why I went. Movies are way too expensive, both during the day and night. [kgwat70]

My biggest thing is the filth. I disgust it. I always bring little wipes and wipe down the chairs. I hate the impolitness of people. I mean come on we are all adults and we should know better. Turn the phone off before you go in, the actors can't hear you stop talking to the screen. Lastly, I wish movie theaters supplied toothpicks. [estarga]
That is an interesting suggestion about the toothpicks. It would help get the popcorn out that get stuck in our teeth. I hate filthy theatres. People are rude these days. I always turn my cell phone off for a movie. Hearing a cell phone go off in the theatre is my biggest pet peeve. [kgwat70]

I hadn't gone to a movie theater in years, they cost too much. Where I live they have one theater, on Wed. they have family night. $1 night, $1 to get in, $1 for pop, $1 for popcorn. I did go on that night. They don't show the movies when they first come out, but hey look how much money you safe. [Polly1]
You certainly do save a lot of money that way. I wish that we had something like that here. [kgwat70]

I used to love going to the movies, but these days, I'll only ever go to please a friend. I prefer to watch movies at home, via video, or DVD. For me, watching a whole movie takes up too much of my day, that is, if I'm alone. And even with a friend, I prefer to watch at home. [CarlHalling]
You nkwo, the experience in a cinema is quite different then at home, even if you have home cinema installed or a huge screen or even a projector...it's jsut not the same.:D [doncris]

I love the BIG screen & the volume of the sound. I HATE the price of a ticket, the seats, the price of the food. Its just has way to many cons for me to want to go very often at all. [Penguinsangel]
Seriously, the DTS six Channel Surround Sound, the RDX quality of the Silver Screen is THE essence of any Theatre, as far as the tickets are concerned.. they sure as Costly but thats due to the increasing Multiplexes, the quality of seats and upholstery been done up..! [nash2060]

I dislke people who have this constant annoying laugh, which makes you attracted by his/her attention that you miss a good part of the film. I also dislke how so movie theaters give tiny portions of butter on the popcorn. One last thing I dislke about move theaters are the employees. They never smile and they have an attitude towards you for no reason. I like that the movie theaters have previews for good movies that are coming out later on. [Jinryu]

I like movie theatres. Eventhough I see movies in the television, I do not satisfy with them. I feel good in watching movies alongwith spectators in the theatre. [workfromhome]
I like the big screen and i hate the people who come there to see movie and speak loudly [kshitijsah]

I dislike when tall people sit in front of me, but even worse than that is when the people behind me kick the back of my seat. [DeenaD]

I love movies, but almost never buy anything at the theaters anymore due to the high cost. You can easily spend as much at a theater as you can on a good dinner. [nw1911guy]

I think the cost to go an see a movie is too high. I mean you could buy a movie on DVD and KEEP it in your home for the same price. Plus the price of munchies there are too high priced. The other thing is, the sound systems suck - they used to be so much louder a long time ago. That if people bring babies into a loud theatre and they cry through the entire movie! [itsjustmeb]

I like going with my friends. I like seeing movies on the big screen. I like having a night out. I dislike the kids running around. I dislike the price of the snacks (one reason i rarely buy anything there). I dislike people coming in, seating right next to me when there are plenty of open seats. I dislkie those people talking to eachother and telling eachother what just happened again and again. [mikeyr6000le]

I hate the rude employees...the people who don't just not turn off their phones, but they brought a freakin nextel (walkit talkie phone) in the theater..the prices make me just want to buy a bootleg version..but most of all, it has to be the people who insist on bringing their children to the theater knowing good and plenty well their kid is just going to cry for the whole 2-3 hours.. [ScarletAlston]

Well I like the big screen, the popcorn and getting out of the house. The things I hate though are dealing with the crowds, the talkers that are always in the movies, the parents that bring toddlers to "R" rated movies, and the final thing not being able to pause the movie to get up and go to the bathroom :) or to just stretch the legs. When movies are very long, 2 and half to three hours long I think they should have a break. They used to with movies and then they stopped them. Never made sense to me. I am hurting by the time I get to move unless I want to miss some of the movie. I also dislike the prices. It's expensive to get in and not to mention the food. For the price I can rent a couple of movies and get dinner for the family. [emeraldisle]

Expense is the biggest thing I dislike. By the time you pay for you and your family to get in you've broke the bank already. Then add on concessions and forget it! You could have had a 5 star restaurant dinner! I also don't think they're overly clean. Seating isn't always the most comfy either. To be honest, the only reason I go to a movie is that sometimes, not always, the movie is a lot more "grand" and enjoyable on a big screen. Unfortunately I only have a normal sized screen at home! lol It gets annoying when people around you talk and make noises. Someone who's deaf is yelling to their partner "What did he say?" A kid starts crying. Some moron's cell phone goes off. There's a lot of annoyances to deal with. I'd much rather wait til it gets to DVD so we can see it at home most of the time. [hockeygal4ever]

I love seeing the big screen but I hate... 1. Stepping in wet, sticking stuff on the floor 2. Having my feet slide on the floor due to the sticky goodness 3. Seeing people next to me try to touch each other 4. Not being able to see because of taller people in my view 5. The price 6. Ringing cell phones 7. Ghetto people trying to talk during the movie [Erika78750]

Of course the worst part is how expensive movies are now. Its ridiculous that they can make that much money. I hate it when the theaters are dirty or if they have loud preteens that need to be told to shut up. I Good movie theaters have lots of leg room and comfy chairs. [MrNiceGuy]

I like going to movie theaters. I think it makes the movie a little more exciting to see it on the big screen. The main thing I don't like is the cost. It's so expensive to go now a days that I can't afford to take the family too often. [mcmomss]

what I like is the sound effect of theatre [harishyeshasvi]

I haven't gone to a movie theatre in a very long time. It costs too much. If there is a movie I really want to see, I'll wait until it comes out on dvd. But I'm not much of a movie watcher anyway. [brendalee]

I hardly ever go to the theaters anymore but I did go in November when my sister, niece and I took my mother to see Santa Clause 3 for her birthday. The things I like are relaxing, watching the previews of the upcoming movies, and just getting to see a movie on the big screen when it first comes out. The things I don't like about it is that it is always cold in there, the movie is really loud, and the people who talk loud through the movie. Where I live it's not that expensive if you go during the matinee(probably spelled wrong). I think it's 6 bucks a person. But I find it easier and more comfortable either ordering Pay-Per-View or watching it on DVD. It's been even longer since I've been to the drive-in and I love going there! [cwilson26]

I like the big screen in the theatre and the surround sound but I don't like the noise people make. [perrytx]

what i like about movie, well i could learn something from the movie that i've watched... the things that i dislike as you said the cost is to high, the consessions, and noisy people, sometimes they are talking while they were watching movie i really can't stand them... [cute_devil]

The price at the theatre is too high that's what I dislike about them [coco526]

I dislike the mess that sometimes appears on the floor of the theatre. People can be ignorant and throw their garbage on the floor. That's gross. I hate walking in and stepping on all that stuff. Eww... also, I hate when I have to wait in line for tickets. [bethechange]

In my town, the biggest theater has sometimes bad movie quality. I don't know..I mean, ok, they have to bring movies on physical film, because of the machines they use...but aren't there any digital projectors available for cinemas? [doncris]

wow there is so much that i do not like about movie theaters now a days. first of all i hate the conditions that they are in. i cant speak for every movie theater, but most of them aren't the cleanest places. then there are the prices. it is so expensive to go out to see a movie now. and on top of that, you have to pray that it isnt sold out. the food prices are outrageous. you can easily spend 25 dollars and thats just on yourself. the people are also inconsiderate. they do not put their cell phones on vibrate and then they are constatly sending text messages. i have a cell phone and i know that there is an option to silent your key pad. sometimes the laughter in the movie theater lasts a little bit longer than needed and you cant hear the movie. and then the children. i understand that you can not get a baby sitter at all times, but to put everyone else through hearing your baby cry, after paying an arm and a leg for a movie that will be on dvd in 2 weeks is just plain rude. lol. personally speaking id rather wait and watch it on dvd. its too much that you have to go through just to see a movie now. [nekiar]

I know that my dislikes will heavely outweigh my likes as the only thing that I like is that when I do go to a theater to see a movie I am getting out of the house. My dislikes are the cost to get in to see the movie, the cost to have anything to drink or eat is way to expensive, they never clean in the seating areas, and most people are to loud and I can not concentrate on the movie. These are the reason that I do not go very often anymore. [cwgrlsarefun]

ya i am starting to have more dislikes abt them then like now a days getting out and seing a good movie catching previews of new movies coming to see. [vamshees_vamshee]

firstly......cleanliness.......& the local ones many theates sell the tickets in black themselves which is too bad....nex thing.....smokin should be completely banned in such theatres [santosh_pbv]

i like the quality of movie, the seating arrangements, interiors etc. i dislike them bcause they are very costly now a days.food at multiplex are sky high rates.on the name of digital sound they tend to make us deaf. [lakheysub]

about movie theaters what i don't like the people comin late and then roaming in front of my eyes and obstract me while watching me the movie and if sum one comes besided me then he starts asking about how much movie he has missed [tapeshnlu]

Well i haven't gone the theaters cause its so darn expensive.. even the matinee.. its ridiculus.. The last time i went was when Pirates 2 came out went to see the midnight showing...The food is to high also..But i do like that they keep it cleaner now.. and just watching movies and getting away from reality for awhile is great.. [annieroos]

About Movie theater qualities I like of - Sound quality, - Screen size and clearity, - good siting arrangements - rather seeking bookings on time what i dislike is - black tickets - changing rates of tickets for new movies either at any type - idiotic explaination of wrong services - paying disregards to human qualities in person [shivprasad]

well i agree that some theatres are really filthy. the chairs even have mites on it. and it smells bad. well one time i got really mad when i sat at a particular chair i thought something sticky was in the armrest and guess what?. a bubblegum in the armrest. very very filthy. also my friend got ketchup in her uniform because some careless person placed ketchup all over the chair. i hate theatres like that. and also the bathroom smells and is very filthy. the cost has also gone up. i hate these things about the theatre. what i love about it is that it gives the movies some more quality and to share it with a lot of people and laugh with them even if you dont know them.. i feel peaceful. also sometimes when i would like to be alone and away from the world i go to theatres alone and in the darkness i contemplate and watch the movie. sometimes i love to sleep in theatres. i disregard the movie first and take a nap, when i am awake i watch the movie and have a great day!. so really theatres are good. the people just have to make it really clean. [patrice7]

The good thing about movie theatres is that its dark so if you plan to take your partner with you then its possible to kiss or whatever without anyone looking at you. The bad thing would be people talking throughout the movie and on odd occassions silly kids chucking popcorn. [as2490]

I like the general atmosphere of the place and the feeling that you are part of the movie. I don't like talkative and distracting teenagers. [paul8675]

I've never really loved going to the theatre for a movie. I will if it's something that I just can't wait to see. I could probably name all the movies easily that I've actually gone to the theatre to see in the last 5 years. I don't like the crowds (I tend to go to the first showing on a Friday) and the costs as well. I also have a week bladder so I hate having to go durring a movie. I'd much rather be in the comfort of my own home with the pause button. It's nice to go out every now and then. [GnosticGoddess]

I think it hearing screaming kids in the movie theatre. I also hate people who have the need to talk in the movie especially the ones who wants to yak on their cell phone, if your phone call is so important you need to go outside and answer it. The concession prices does not affect me. I always eat before I go to the movies. [venshida]

One thing I hate in watching movies in theaters and that is the noisy people. Sometimes it's so annoying to hear cellphone tones ringing while your enjoying the scenes. [primecrimson]

the place where i live has no movie theatre worth its name .forget about the latest sound systems .the walls have probably not been painted for years and the floors are unwashed .there are spit marks all over and i always have to look down where i am sitting . in some cases there are no seat nos. i hate going to a theatre in my place . [akash_sky51]

I just hate people who already seen the movie but then come and talk about it with a friend inside theaters while the movie they already watched is showing. And people who noisily react to a scene and talks about it for like a minute. [jmanzano17]

movie theaters should bemade with much more comfort cause some time we have problem if a person with nad breath sits with us or something like that , but i feel movie theaters should concentrate in decreasing rates and also increasing comfort cause people go there to relax and have a good time , that's the ultimate idea if going to a movie theater [varunharry]

now a days in movie theaters the cost of ticket s rae increasing very high during interval if we like to eat anything the costs of the snacks are too high [ten_tons35]

I usually fall asleep if I go to the movies. Unless it's a good horror flick. And it's always so cold in there. [HighPriestess]

I like the fact that you become far more involved with the film; the sound and picture is extremely high quality and very imersing. Unfortunately, some parents feel the need to take small children to films certainly not intended for small children, so you have to put up with crying and screaming throughout the entire film. Sometimes it's cool to watch a film with a room full of people, especially with comedies. Overall it's a bit of a mixed bag. [thejoot]

i enjoy doulby digital sounds, but have buying tickets in black [whozefa]

I have to admit I personally dont like anything about movie theaters really...they cost too much, you cant pause the movie to go pee, you cant lay back in your pj's or put your feet up, there is always AT LEAST 3 or 4 idiots makin noise and/or throwing popcorn etc, its too loud and so on....I'm quite happy to wait for flicks to come out on DVD and watch them in the comfort of my own home... [Ravenladyj]

Oh my gawd! I cannot stand when I am looking nice and I am sitting somewhere that feels sticky and the air just feel musty! I can't stand that. I rather go to an expensive movie theatre and relax and be able to comfortably enjoy my movie! [ilvrshn]

Probably that the cost of watching a movie is rather expensive, and the food being sold at the cinemas are quite expensive as well. But what's once a week to pamper yourself after a week of hard work!? :) [xtinelee]

I dislike people having their phone calls inside the cinemas and yelling like children!Sometimes those people are eating food that is not purchased from the kiosk. The thing that I like was the sound is very very good.Very quality sound that makes my ears feels good! The area is a good place for watching movies!Dark enough and the screen is huge also! [adrianngan]

oh. i love watching movies in good movie theatres. what i like about movie theatres are: it's already prepared for us to sit-in, there are guides for your seat number, movie previews that will keep you updated, there are people you dont know who cries and laughs with you, it's dark which makes it romantic, when the movie starts - no more people talking, no more people try to talk with me unlike here at home, and the food just tastes better even if it doesnt. weird. what i dont like about movie theatres is when some people dont know how to listen to instructions that cellphones should be turned-off or put in a silent mode. [dhanadebelen]

I used to go to movie theatres frequently but have not done so for quite some time. I can't really say why it has happened but it could be that i have been quite busy of late, or that i have make it a habit of waiting for the DVD releases. Maybe it is as what you said that the cost is too high to watch a movie these days. [kabuki]

i dont tend to go anymore, i really dont like them. The seats can be uncomfortable. and you always get some people making lots of noise eating crisp or sweets. oo and i hate it when your seated and getting into the movie and then a person on the same row gets up to go the toilet, so then you have to get up and might miss what some1 said in the movie [Matt_e11]

I don't like movie theaters. They're not comfortable and they're kind of spooky. I like to wtach movies at home where I can eat what I want, stop the movie if I want, etc. [vmiller1024]

I like the movie theaters around here, they're pretty good, but i can't stand the prices. Its really high just to go see a movie, then the concession prices are insanely high priced. I'd go see more movies, but its pretty expensive, so i'd rather do something else. $6 or 7 just to get in, then more for a drink and popcorn just to watch a two hour movie is tough, especially when i don't have a job (I'm a kid). [Hipponater]

well,i love watching movies in movie theathres.but some of the things that i dislike aboout them are when you go to watch a movie in a theathre i think that there should be silence but you always have someone or the other making a lot of nooise thereby disrupting the atmosphere. [scorpius]

i still like watching movies in the theatre because they give a chance to see nice people with no huss and fuss, they bring their mobiles thats another thing, but then also they are a great past time at home you cant see peoples reaction which defines a movie. [sanjivbiswas]

There's nothing like watching a movie in a theater, sitting on the 7th or 8th row, center, so nothing else would be in your camp of vision, but only the screen. The sound, the darkness, it is a whole experience! And if the theater has comfortable seats where you can put your drinks without a problem, even better! That is what I miss the most! Because now that I am broke, I can't afford to go to the movies! And not even think of buying things at the concession stands!!! So, When there's a movie I really want to watch and have some kind of a similar experience, I sit on my great desk chair, relax, put on my headphones and play the DVD on my laptop!!!! It is considerably cheaper! [berlinlife]

It's been like decades that I haven't been to any theatre, much more to a moviehouse. When I was younger, I've been fond of going with my family & relatives. But as I grew older, I stop going. Mostly because, movies nowadays become easily accessible in other form of technology right in the comfort of our house. And yes I do have dislikes about moviehouse, first it's so dark that bumping into strangers is something that I hate a lot. Second, it is filthy, and sometimes lots of filthy people go there with their filthy hands they can't keep for themselves (if you know what I mean). [camille101]

The alone like about theaters is the movie that I goto watch. Dislikes .............. The peoples shouting there unmannerly and leaving some unfair comments. Cost doesn't matters but the relaxing hours become more irritating when mobiles ring and persons shout. How about that. Have a nice day. [vijayganesh]

I like to go out and see a movie now and then, but I'm not fond of the prices, the dirty seats, and the dirty theater in general. I would prefer to buy or rent a movie and watch it in the comfort of my own home instead of fighting the crowd or trying to find a good place to sit. Knowing that the new movies will be on DVD sooner or later, I would rather wait for it to come out to buy or rent it. [awesomehorizons]

i like the big picture and suround sound and i dontlike the cost and bug problems in the theaters... [red_dragon]

What I really really hate with movie theaters nowadays is the fact that most teenagers are turning them into brothels. It seems that our young couples are oblivious of the fact that they're in a public place and should keep their hands and lips to themselves. All those smooching sometimes distracts my attention from the movie which I paid for! [berlinsteph21]

i lyk picture and sound quality bt sometimes v have to stand n waiting long for tickets that i dont lyk [jat_jay]

I like the wide screen and the sound system. I don't like the price of the consessions. I also don't like the choices. Consessions haven't changed much, even though people's eating habits have changed over the past 20 years. [Eboue54]

Well, movie theaters are the best way to see a movie. I also like tp watch the previews of movies that are coming soon. I don't like it when people just throw away their trash on the floor. I also don't like it when there are people being very intimate in a movie theater. Just get a room will you! [thediesel]

Geeze, I could type all day on this one! I'll start with inconsiderate patrons. These would be the ones who fail to turn off their cellphones, giggle and whisper the entire movie, make 15 trips in and out of the movie (requiring you to jockey in your seat to allow them to pass), state loudly, "wait till you see this part, it's great" (as it is their third of fourth viewing, and chew their gum loudly and pop bubbles loudly. Second would be the exorbitant prices to get into the movie and then for concessions and lastly, the filthy condition of the theater. (sticky, gooey floor that is covered with soda spills and pieces of trash, the seats that are stained with spills and pieces of hardened gum etc) Yeah, I will continue to wait for movies to come out on DVD. I can relax in my own home, pause the movie to use the restroom and not have to be bothered by noise and filth! [crazynurse]

Well I like that they have more choices of what you want to eat and I dislike the fact that it cost 8 dollars just to get a burger lol... [dawn5679]

I am a movie addicted, I go to the movie at leats once a week. Before 6:00 PM the price is about $6.00 which is not too bad. I dislike long movies over 2 hours. [coolguy01]

What I dislike about visits to movie theaters are the inconsiderate patrons -- those who bring babies to "adult" movies; those who do not turn off cell phones. I also dislike the high cost of the overall experience. Even the matinee tickets are not really bargains these days. I do enjoy going to the movies with friends, but at today's prices, it seems going to the movies is headed towards the place where drive-ins reside -- a fond memory of the past [Truewater2]

i hate people who use their their mobiles in the theatres........ the food stall outside is thing i like...... [hariharan2503]

H guys... as for me, i prefer watchin a movie on a DVD than spending time in the theatre. ofcourse the picture and sound is Stunning at the theatre... but i think they eat up a good part of my pocket money/earnings..! incase i wanna watch a comedy/romantic movie (which need no sound effects) i watch it on DVDs, and prefer the Big Screen for Action-packed, all-in-all Effects based movies. the tickets, the snacks costs a Fortune these days. [nash2060]

For a movie that I really want to see, nothing beats the experience of seeing it in the theatre. What really annoys me about going are the concession priced (regilar pop and a small popcorn cost more than the movie), people who talk and people who just refuse to turn off their cell phones. What I've started doing is going to the real early matinees, around 11 AM, as they are cheaper and always real quiet no matter how new the movie is. [inked4life]

I don't like the sticky floors of the theaters. The sound just grosses me out. The high, high prices of the whole movie going experience is just crazy.I would also have to say the people that talk during the movie, whether on their cell phones or to someone else. I like the theater because of the big screens and sounds. [jmcafam]

I especially like the size of the screen. And I don't like it when the movie I'm watching is bad, in that case I feel as if I was wasting my time there. [jotace]

People talking as if they are the only people in the theater. Also not turning off their cellphones or just putting it on silent mode would be much appreciated. It's a public place, people should respect each other coz they are not the only ones who paid. [sweetrala]

i like the fact that its a place where everyone can go to watch a movie together. i find it funny when its a sad movie and you come out finding you werent the only one crying. i also like when everyone laughs together at the same thing. i like the huge huge screen to. but the thing that drives me absolutley crazy at a theatures is at the end of a movie, people applaude!!! what the hell is that lol? its ridiculaus! whats the point? its a movie. you dont applaude at home when you rent them do you? but if i do watch them in theatres, i always go to the one one town over because its owned by a man who my dad worked with, it has a cafe, which if you want, will bring the food to you during the movie. it is very very clean to. ♣ [thewolf777]

I really like theatres for the picture and sound. That's it. I am not great in crowds so if I had one all to myself that would be even better. [WebMann]

I almost never go to a movie theater anymore, because Ive a long list of dislikes. Id rather rent a DVD and watch at home. Here are my dislikes: 1. Idiotic and inconsiderate people, who feel its their duty to give live comments during the movie, chats on their cell phones or to their friends next to them. 2. Ignorant movie novices going to watch a serious art film, but don't know how to appreciate a really good movie. They constantly make remarks or giggle histerically at serious scenes or open up sweets and shake their popcorn boxes constantly. 3. Movie theaters that don't show the movie correctly, that is they either screen it too low or too high on the screen, so the subscripts are capped off etc...and they only realise it 15 minutes after the movie has started. These things really prevents me from going to certain movie theaters in my country, forcing me to have a select few of movie theaters where I know the audience is "ussually" educated enough to appreciate the movie. [volschenkh]

wanted to turn around SO bad but I thought no since I had my two boys with me. I got up as if to go to the restroom and asked for the theater manager. I told him what was happening and that they were making everyone miserable. He gave me enough time to get back to my seat and a few minutes later he must have been standing in the aisle where nobody could see him. He came straight up to where they were and told them they would have to leave. They gave him a hard time and he had them escorted out. Don't tolerate it. The manager wants you to come back. He even found me after the show and gave me 3 free passes for whatever movie I wanted to see for my inconvenience. [chimex4real2k2]

I hate going for the reasons u mentioned. I also hate the sticky floors which are disgusting, and the chair seem to be getting smaller. Hello Most of us ARE NOT SKINNY SUPER MODELS, yet the size of the seats are becoming childlike, some look more like BOOSTER seats! Plus the cost has risen and continues to rise. Honestly, at this point? I prefer to wait till it gets to the local video store ( Blockbuster for me) and rent it there and watch it in the comfort of my home, with popcorn I pop, or hotdogs I make (KNOWING the content of each as well as calories and such) The fun has really been taken out of going to the movies. Especially since the tv screens keep getting larger, and you don't have someone's fat head to try to see through at the theater! No chatterbox teenagers or crying babies! (well if you don't have either of those at home) But you get the point. You don't have people stepping on your toes either to get to the last empty seat in the row which happens to be right next to yours and they are so large that they spill over into your seat, and not only do they end up sharing YOUR seat, but take the arm rest as well, while you end up in a little uncomfortable ball crouched in an uncomfortable seat wishing this danged movie was over, which U miss half of because the person next to you spilled their enormous drink and it's soaking into your clothes plus you end up with the hotdog you bought down your shirt because you jump when you get drenched. No thanks, I'll stay at home! [JustSimplyLissa]

if im accompanied with parents then instead i can stay at home they hate guys shouting!and it really doesnt pleases my family members(joint family),better to walk out half way of the film!!! if my dad is taking us he will take us to some good theatres but then i feel the cost is very high instead we mostly stay at home... i went just twice to theatres it was very expensive but the place was good... only young couples, teenagers like us will be visiting in such kinda theatres,i like such kinda theatres! but they are too costly!,i like to watch films in the first show which is impossible for me,but guys some how they go for first shows!! The things I like about going to the movies: previews, big screen, surround sound, nachos and cheese, popcorn, the theathre being dark, refills on popcorn and drink. The things I do not like about going to the movies: people talking or kicking/bumping my seat, people squeezing through when the movie is playing, the cost, it is usually too cold, the floor is sometimes sticky, I would prefer to NOT have my butt pinched in the back of the seat because my legs can't seem to keep the seat down, someone tall sitting in front of me, not being able to pause the movie when I need to pee and then I have to decide if I am going to miss anything if I feel that I just can't wait because my bladder will explode, the fact that you can get refills but who is going to leave the movie to get a refill? Basically, I wait until I can buy it on DVD and then I can sit at home, on my bed, in the dark, eat my microwave popcorn, drink my own soda, pause the movie if I have to pee, pause the movie if I need more food or drink, pause the movie and snap at the child that is standing in front of the tv, back up the movie to be sure that i didn't miss anything, warn a child if they bang my bed on more time...and cover up with my blanket if I am too cold. LOL So, even though I love going to the movies...I have more likes to staying home to watch them. [brokentia]

I share the same opinion with you. Those are exactly things that I hate and things that I like. We haven't been to the movies forever and I've missed that somehow. [Lydia1901]

Like u said, it seems that these days there are more things to dislike about about a movie theater than there is to like. I like being able to relax and see a good movie, usually, with friends or family. I also like seeing the previews as well, sometimes that can be the best part! lol. The things I don't liek are how expensive everything is. Where I live for an afternoon showing it's $7 and for an evening showing it's $9.75! I could probably go rent 2-3 movies for that price! Also the concessions are expensive as well... a bottle of pop or water is around $3, normally at a store they're $1.25! I understand that this is how they make they're profit but they could really lower their prices. This seems unliekly though seeing as many people are willing to buy these items for that price even though they find it ridiculous. [FraYFaN09]
