What Is Your Favorite Movie Quote " Luke I Am Your Father." - Darth Vader

We all watch movies and animes right? We all have favorite movies and animes? But what are you favorite movie and anime quotes? dogma Quotes "What are you going to do hit me with that fish?"-metatron. Star Wars " Luke I am your father." - Darth Vader Austin Powers " Yeah baby yeah." - Austin Powers Terminator " I'll be back" - the terminator. These were a few examples. The first one is my favorite quote from dogma by the metatron who was played by Alan Rickman. So now that I have your creative juices flowing what are yours?

[question posted by bellaofchaos]

responses and comments:

"astalavista baby"-terminator2 oops....the juice bags need to be replenished i guess....can't think of any more! [Daffodil20]
I loved the second one also and that was a great quote! [bellaofchaos]

My favorite quote is from my favorite movie of all time...Gone With the Wind. When Rhett was leaving Scarlett and she was begging him not to he didn't care about anything she said and his response was just "Frankly my dear I don't give a damn"....I love it! [ctrymuziklvr]
I so love that quote also it's a great one. I use to use it all the time when asked something that i didn't care about. LOL!!! [bellaofchaos]

I loved Dogma.. I liked: "no more yanky my wanky, Donger need food" from Sixteen Candles. When Judd Nelson told the teacher: "Eat my Sh*t" in the Breakfast Club. Back then all I wanted to do is say this to every single teacher I had. The best one I have heard recently was from an amazing movie called "Once", it was an independent film that is Irish I think, it won an Academy award for the song- Falling SLowly- which is great, it even beat out Disney songs- ok I love music. Anyway, there was a line in there that the female lead character said after the male lead invited her to his place- "I hanky panky you?" She had a Czech accent and it was pretty funny- I can't stop saying it. Have a great day! [skinnychick]
yep it did!!!! [bellaofchaos]

The one I remember is from "Godfather": "I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse". That is the first one that comes to my mind, and I think that is the one of the most famous quotes ever. I do remember one line that is not really a quote from the movie but it is funny, and Christina Aguilera is the person behind these "famous" words: "So, where's the Cannes Film Festival being held this year?" [Natrak]
lol Natrak that is hilarious about what Christina said lolol ... but sad in a way at the same time *rolleyes* some people could avoid to make fool of themselves but instead they just cant help it :p [JoMarch]

mamma always said life is like a box of chocaltes you never know what you going to get an dont forget RUN FORREST RUN yep forrest gump [enola1692]
that was a great movie how could I have not put those quotes in.. LOL!!! [bellaofchaos]

Do not try... DO Yoda to Luke when levitating the ship. Only one that comes to mind right offhand. Eanna could probably rattle off a lot more that I use without thinking of it. [uath13]
when your not on the spot you can come up with a million and one but on the spot forget about it. ..LOL!! I'm like that to. [bellaofchaos]

Oh boy, I love movies with great scripts and we use favorite lines all the time in our house. Some of my favorites: "Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining." Clint Eastwood in The Outlaw Josie Wales. "You're gonna need a bigger boat." Roy Scheider in Jaws. "On my signal, unleash hell." Russel Crowe in Gladiator. smiles, ink [inkling]
yep they are all good lines no matter who reitterates them. LOL!!! [bellaofchaos]

You can look but don't touch. Touch, but don't taste. Taste. Don't Swallow! That is my favorite part of a particular speech from the Devil's Advocate. But my all time favorite line from that movie is "Vanity, is definitely my favorite sin." But I have plenty of movie quotes I use often. "What's the matter, you seem a bit pent up, Blade not givin you any?" (to which I replace blade with what ever guy the girl i am saying it to is dating) "Some mutherf$%^ers are always trying to ice skate uphill" Another Blade fav or mine. And the whole dang movie of the Boondock Saints has me dying but my all time fav from that one is "Shut your fatass, Rayvie! I can't go buy a pack of smokes without runnin' into nine guys you've f$^&ed!" And star wars. "Laugh it up fuzzball" Yeah that means you cause I know you are laughing your butt off right now. [cynicalandoutspoken]
sorry but one of my favorite exchanges is from Dogma. between Bethany and Metatron. Metatron: I am to charge you with a holy crusade. Bethany: For the record, I work in an abortion clinic. Metatron: Noah was a drunk. Look what he accomplished. And no one's even asking you to build an ark. All you have to do is go to New Jersey, and visit a small church on a very important day. Bethany: New Jersey? That doesn't sound like much of a crusade. Metatron: Aside from the fine print, that's it. Bethany: What's the fine print? Metatron: [mumbling into glass] Stopacoupleofangelsfromenteringandthusnegatingallexistence. Bethany: Wait, wait, wait. Repeat that. Metatron: Stop a couple of angels from entering and thus negating all existence. I hate when people need it spelled out for them. [bellaofchaos]

I guess I am really unoriginal but my favourite has to be - Nobody puts baby in the corner - Johnny in Dirty Dancing! Maybe I should be less boring! xxx [mummymo]
Your not boring that is a freaking classic and from a really good movie. Thanks for the quote. [bellaofchaos]

Being the incredible intellectual that I am, I love irony: "A boy's best friend is his mother" Psycho, 1960 I also have a lot of class: "A martini. Shaken, not stirred." Goldfinger, 1964 I'm also an optimistic person: "Tomorrow is another day" Gone With the Wind, 1939 (which could also just mean I'm lazy) lol I can also be a b*tch: "I'll get you my pretty, and your little dog too" Wizard of Oz 1939 There are limits to my patience: "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not gonna take this anymore" Network,1976 I'm also corporate savvy: "In the world of advertising, there's no such thing as a lie. There's only expedient exaggeration" North By Northwest, 1959 And last but not least, I am very funny: "One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got in my pajamas, I'll never know" Animal Crackers, 1930 Can you tell I love old movies? LOL [sparkofinsanity]
yep I used to watch old movies with my gram on the TMC channel .. The black and whites are something. We would talk about them non stop. LOL!!! I miss being able to do that. I think that I'm going to spend some time with her this weekend. [bellaofchaos]

"life is like a box of chocolates...you never know what you get..." from Forrest Gump "That's the Titanic...I hear it is unsinkable..." how many people said this in real life and how many lives did the sinking change? thousands! [cher913]
great movies both of them ever watch dogma if you did I have a quote for you! [bellaofchaos]

From the 'sundance kid the two guys are going to jump off a high clift to get away from their pursues and the one is bemoaning the fact that they have to jump and the other one said What do you mean? The sudden fall could kill you. [Hatley]
here is one I like from Dogma the comedy of it all is here is an angel named LOKI and he was cast out of heaven because he wouldn't go to war for god anymore so he's talking to this nun and tells her this. Nun: You don't believe in God because of Alice in Wonderland? Loki: No, "Through the Looking Glass". That poem, "The Walrus and the Carpenter" that's an indictment of organized religion. The walrus, with his girth and his good nature, he obviously represents either Buddha, or... or with his tusk, the Hindu elephant god, Lord Ganesha. That takes care of your Eastern religions. Now the carpenter, which is an obvious reference to Jesus Christ, who was raised a carpenter's son, he represents the Western religions. Now in the poem, what do they do... what do they do? They... They dupe all these oysters into following them and then proceed to shuck and devour the helpless creatures en masse. I don't know what that says to you, but to me it says that following these faiths based on mythological figures ensure the destruction of one's inner-being. Organized religion destroys who we are by inhibiting our actions... by inhibiting our decisions, out of... out of fear of some... some intangible parent figure who... who shakes a finger at us from thousands of years ago and says... and says, "Do it - Do it and I'll f*ck!n' spank you. [bellaofchaos]

Talledega Nights ..... "If you don't chew big red then Fu** you!" and the kid running screaming "anarchy anarchy, I don't know what that means but I sure do love sayin it" and " I peed my pants and i never did change my pee pants I'm still sittin in my dirty pee pants." and " Dear sweet 8lbs 6 oz baby jesus, With your little gold fleece diapers." There are a lot of good lines in talledega nights, like " I'm layin down the granny law and if you don't obey me i'm gonna paint your back porch red." [mrsfrodotata]
That movie is the best. LOL!!!!!I have started another discussion based on the movie the discussion is called One of the mylot taboos. LOL!!! [bellaofchaos]

Gandalf, the fellowship of the ring - All you have to do is decide what to do with the time that is given to you the return of the king - End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path. One that we all must take. The gray rain curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass. And then you see it. White shores. And beyond, the far green country, under a swift sunrise. Aragorn, the return of the king - Sons of Gondor! Of Rohan! My brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends, and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Age of Men comes crashing down, but it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!Breakfast on Pluto Ma Braden: I'll walk you up and down the streets before the whole town in disgrace! Young Patrick Braden: Promise? Mr. Silky String: And just who is this "Phantom Lady"? Patrick "Kitten" Braden: Well, it's my mother really, I call her that... to pretend it's a story... that's happening to someone else, you see. Mr. Silky String: Why do you pretend that? Patrick "Kitten" Braden: Beacause otherwise I might cry and never stop. Michael Collins:Michael Collins: Give*us* the future, we've had enough of your past. Give us back our country, to live in, to grow in, to love. [Michael Collins arrives at the ceremony to take down the British flag] British officer: You're seven minutes late, Mr. Collins. Michael Collins: You've kept us waiting 700 years. You can have your seven minutes. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [as the British flag comes down] Michael Collins: So that's what all the bother was about. (god i love this part in the movie, i laugh to tears all the times:p) Michael Collins: There is one weapon that the British cannot take away from us: we can ignore them. Michael Collins: I want peace and quiet. I want it so much I'd die for it. Michael Collins: I hate them for making hate necessary, and I'll do what I can to end it. (okay i could quote the whole movie so i better stop here...its not a realistic portrayal of history but i just love it for such quotes) Billy Elliot Billy: I don't want a childhood, I want to be a ballet dancer! Billy: Do you ever think about death, Tony? Tony: F*ck you Billy: Good night ill stop okay:p [JoMarch]

Oh I have a lot of favorite quotes. If I listed them all I'd be here all day but here are a few that I do love and come right to mind: Masterminds: "You know, I'm not a violent man but I really do think I'm going to have to kill someone here." Arsenic and Old Lace: "Yes, I did. But you don't think I'd stoop to telling a fib." (after just admitting to killing 12 men) "Insanity doesn't just run in my family... it practically gallops!" The last I'll list is from Father Gooseand it's a series of lines between two people but you have to hear the first three to understand the last: Lieutenant Stebbings: Mother Goose is requesting a chaplain. Commander Frank Houghton: A chaplain? Good heavens, he's killed her. Lieutenant Stebbings: No, sir. They want to get married. Commander Frank Houghton: Married? Goody Two-Shoes and the Filthy Beast? If you haven't seen any of these movies I highly recommend them. Masterminds isn't out on DVD yet but it is available on VHS. The others are all on DVD. [emeraldisle]
I know what you mean LOL!!! [bellaofchaos]

My youngest son is named Luke because my husband always wanted to say, "Luke, I am your father." Too funny! My favorite line from a movie came from Good Will Hunting - "Do You Like Apples? I got her phone number, how do you like them apples?" [kellys3ps]
That is just to funny. I'll have to watch it over again to see where that line is. [bellaofchaos]

Good series. Definitely a good quote. [bellaofchaos]

Well, as I have said before, I am "old school" or older than dirt, but what about Barney Fife in Andy Griffith's tv show when he said "Nip it in the bud, just nip it".. I am not sure if anyone on here is old enough to remember the show or Barney, you had to see him and hear the line to appreciate the seriousness of this great advice that he was giving to Andy at the time.. Oh well, don't laugh at me, remember, if you live long enough, you will be as old as I am one day, lol.. Enjoyed all of the comments and remembered most of them.. [DonnaLawson]

Your favorite quote, "Luke I am your father" isn't even in Star Wars Episode 5: Empire Strikes Back! :) Or in any movie for that matter, except maybe parodies. The actual quote is "No. I am your father." But it has been misquoted so many times that it's common wisdom that the quote is "Luke, I am your father." [acrosser]
This is not a let's correct a person this is a respond to the discussion. But you haven't so if you can respond to that discussion great, but if you're here to just correct people not so great. [bellaofchaos]

jerry maguire: "you complete me" "you had me at hello" [Loveromance]

There would be many as it is difficult to mention only one... here goes I would rather have had one breath of her hair, one kiss from her mouth, one touch of her hand, than eternity without it. - City of Angels Hearts will never be practical until they are made unbreakable... - Wizard of Oz How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard. - Annie If I tell you I love you, can I keep you forever? - Casper It doesn't matter if the guy is perfect or the girl is perfect, as long as they are perfect for each other. - Good Will Hunting The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return. - Moulin Rouge I am someone else when I'm with you, someone more like myself. - Original Sin When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible. - When Harry Met Sally Take love, multiply it by infinity and take it to the depths of forever... And you still have only a glimpse of how I feel for you. - Meet Joe Black You are what I never knew I always wanted. - Fools Rush In When they ask me what I liked best, I'll tell them it was you. - City Of Angels If you love someone you say it, you say it right then, out loud. Otherwise the moment just...passes you by... - My Best friend's Wedding I love you without knowing how, why, or even from where… - Patch Adams Death can not stop true love; it can only delay it for a little while. - The Princess Bride You will never know love unless you surrender to it. - Fools Rush In [Tantrums]

hi there, i do love lots of movies and sholay quotes are legendary but i would talk hollywood here as it is english site...damaged people are dangerous" Damage 1994 ish. "these are not the robots you are looking for", £i love the smell of napalm in the morning" We're a very movie literate family so often they get rephrased to fit the stiuation. These are not the socks your are looking for or I love the smell of hoovering in the morning. though i see hollywood rarely but if i find a good quote i try to remember. [purnima175]
