I just watch this fantastic movie which are currently blockbuster movies, mainly the Avatar, Sherlock Holmes and Alvin and the Chipmunk 2. So far I have a great time comparing the three movies. They were all great and deserves some recognition that really left each audiences to ask for more...Those movies are simply fabulous and I really enjoy a lot watching it with my friends. Though, their are quite annoying situation which one could encounter in watching movies. Despite the movies is good, I could not quite concentrate as lot of people are talking loud, loud cellphone ringing, then some get up and get down to get snacks and so on..Aside from their is no enough leg room and the surround sound is not really magnify. So their is an endless laughing and loud voices talking. So those are my observation as fun is concern it is fine but sometimes their are also disadvantages. Because, it is a blockbuster movies lot of people are standing on the back side and some are rude.
How about you, What do you think are the problems encounter when watching movies inside the cinema? Kindly shares your thoughts. thanks

responses and comments:
besides the spacing of the seats and the people getting up. Have had people use their cell phones on very bright the entire movie. One thing though I dont like is when people are coughing really hard and often. It throws me out of the movie watching mode. I mean if your that sick one you shouldnt be there cause you might spread it and two your just being a nuisance. Its not like the movie is going to vanish... [tap0991]
hi tap, yeah that very true and some diseases could be caught if the person beside you is unhygienic or have no concern with her seatmate and only concern with his self enjoyment without acknowledging other people get annoy by their behavior. thanks for sharing your thoughts. [neelianoscet]
The one that I hate the most is people talking loud, I mean you are suppose to go to the cinema to watch movies not to talk with your friends. Another one is kids throwing stuff at you. I remember last years I went to the movies and some kids were throwing soda bottles at people. [Adalie]
hi adalie, Yup that is the many inconvenience in watching movies their are other people who seem out of their wild behavior and those children guardian need to advise their children not to become noisy as it disturbs the other viewers concentration in watching the movies. thanks. [neelianoscet]
hi neel^^;; long time no see(hugs*hugs) how are u my friend? i haven't seen since the holidays, and when you're back, i think i was the who wasn't herelol anyway, u have mentioned all the annoyances inside the theater. i really hate those don't turn off or out their cellphones in silent mode. and yes, the people standing and buying snacks and like having a feast inside instead of concentrating to understand and enjoy the movie sucks. i hope, our theater would impose rules like other countries that we can only eat popcorn that is in a paperbox and not snacks in plastics that create soundsangry so, sometimes we watch movies during the last show hours on weekdays because people are less [Lucky09]
I could not sleep yet as i have an overdose of caffeine/ coffee..I am a night owl and probably go to bed by 3.. lol..that could still be remedy beside they look more attractive if one have deep seated eyes..(just kidding)lol ok..have a sweet dream.. [neelianoscet]
The number one problem for me goinfg to the theater is no PAUSE they give you a 100oz blatter buster and no intermission to go to the bathroom. I dont know if you guys are like me but i love to snack while watching a movie and of course it is rediculosly expensive for anything and choices are so limited it makes me stay at home much more often ! [DwreckBrizzy]
hi dwreckbrizzy, Yeah, and the surround sound they make watching movies so exciting when the image comes to the bigger screen life a life size images comes more naturally and you could feel all the joy then the experience is fantastic especially if you have special companion by your side. thanks. [neelianoscet]
aside from the things you mention the expenses is too large and though i rather opt to watch at my computer loading torrent. actually watching movies in theater is different from watching movies as the image is large in life size and the sounds is good. though it is crowded it would not matter to me as long as the movies is of exceptional quality. lastly, i only watch movies once a week or less depending on my budget. [amyson]
hi amyson, Yup, that is also i do when i have no budget but the pirated DVD only irritate me and even downloading in torrent they are still not yet a clear copy since it is illegally copy from theater and the sounds is not clear plus you could see the people in theater with the black shadow often get out of their seat so definitely it is annoying to watch such copies..thanks [neelianoscet]
I am like you, the loud talking, to many people, people getting up and the cell phones. This is really a problem. I try to wait till the movie is shown for a while and there are less people going. This sometimes will give a better experience. The less people the less noise and things going on. I really like to wait and watch at home. Have a great day. [jezzmay]
hi jezzmay, yeah, the last minute full show is the best time to watch movies as the first batch uo to the 2nd batch the areas are all filled with people so it is very crowded. Amd watching at home is more relaxing since it is private one not like in the public places like in theater. thanks [neelianoscet]
Common are the crowd and if you really like to enjoy your movies without too much noise you could instead rent or buy a DVD or watch it at the end of the week where their would be less people vying for seat. [fantasticbabe]
hi fan, yup, rent or buy is not my forte since if i already watch the movies the cd just add to the bulkiness in my room. they become useless when after t is watch unless one could trade them to a friend or conduct a least a garage sale where you could sell all those stuffs which you no longer need. thanks [neelianoscet]
aside from things you mention i do not like to see couple doing PDA-public display of affection it takes away my concentration from watching movies. [janeajozelle]
hi janeajozelle, yup, they are eyesore and the couple or sweetheart who do it should be out in the theater since they are distracting and some like them to watch good scenes but fail to concentrate when the other couples do other business which is very vulgar..thanks [neelianoscet]
many people are noisy, some frequently stand disturbing those moviegoers, other are noisy and their is not enough room for the feet to extend.. [flower21]
hi flower, yup, they are very true and almost everyone i suppose to be have experience it which is pretty annoying and those couples should get out of the theater when they only go to theater just to do their own things.thanks [neelianoscet]
Sometime there are babies that cry!!! And i can't really concentrate on the movie or hear what they are saying. Plus, I don't like sitting there for 3 hours long just to watch a movie, it make my head hurt, and i can't really just stand up and stretch. I agree with you, the seat are so small, no room for my legs to stretch. [smarticle]
hi smarticle, yeah, very true all the things you mention exist on the theater and they could not be control since it is public place which is not found if one likes to have privacy then watching movies in the theater is highly discourage unless one like to enjoy all the noises and the company of new friends. thanks [neelianoscet]
MIne were the same and I just dont go any more I have a hard time now watching one at home as grand daughter talks all the time but I can get into it at home and block her out mostly lolololol [Lakota12]
that is so true! [Lakota12]
At first i was really annoyed hearing people laughs during scenes and the booing and clapping, now i have gotten into it, i always join them in their loud laughs and i clap the hardest nowadays. [mrfdg1972]
hi mrfdg, Yeah, watching movies in cinemas bring a lot of happiness and it is a way to socialize with other people if not to feel the same excitement as when you watch movies in theater it is more life size figures and the sounds is more clear which add to the enjoyment and in tune with the others moviegoers who were the same pace with you both are excited to watch the scenes though their may be noise but the experience in watching in cinemas is highly different from watching movies in home theater. [neelianoscet]
Yes! I do feel a bit disturbs when mine or others cell phones ring loudly in a movie hall.Apart from that,my eyes strain, after looking at the coloured screen in a dark room for hours.I also cannot concentrate, if people around me talks or laughs. In fact I really get irritated when people pass comments. It is very rude at times. [tuyakiki]
hi tuyakiki, Yeah, the focus in watching movies is lost when the people inside the theater is cussing around or creating a lot of noises unless you also enjoy the noise which is quite opposite so for you it is more best to watch movies at the comfort of your own homes as it more safer and inexpensive.. [neelianoscet]
I like going to the theatre a lot. Like you I don't like when someone doesn't have the common courtesy to shut off their phone or put it on vibrate. Then there are those that constantly open or use their phone and the lights from them are distracting. People that sit in front of you and can't stay in their seat, you know, the ones that not only get up to go to the restroom or concession stand, but the ones that see an exciting part of the movie & jump to their feet and keep standing even after the part is over. One of my biggest complaints is when someone apparently uses a whole bottle of cologne or perfume & its so overpowering that it makes you want to throw up on the person wearing it & it even makes the popcorn taste bad. [mzz663]
hi mzz, Yeah, those attitude of the other movie constantly happen because some are inconsiderate of other feeling and at the same time they think they own the whole theater that they could do many noise as they could without bothering to be sensitive with the other people feeling so definitely they just keep others annoy with their ill manner behavior lacing in discipline. [neelianoscet]
You almost said it all, just add a some of mine. Spill-over drinks on the floors by someone at the back will surely create some commotions on the the room. Another thing are some garbages left by the people whom they don't even care to throw in the bins. Also, seeing other couple doing "the other thing" inside the cinema. These things interrupt my watching and often end-up telling the guards and other cinema staffs to do something about it. [Fulltank]
hi fulltank, yeah, those things you observe are all true and i believe they could only be prevented if the other people become more sensitive and respectful with other movie goers since being noisy reflect also the breeding or personality of the person as either decent or simply immature or childish so they making a lot of noise sort of attention getter. They made fun of themselves without care whatever the other people would feel with their mischievous behavior. [neelianoscet]
I guess those warnings on the screen about turning off the cell phones that come on right before the movie starts just don't work. I have to say I don't usually have that problem anymore. When I go see a movie (I admit in the past year, I've only seen one movie in an actual movie theater), I usually go at an early time, like maybe the first showing. And there are a lot less people there. I also don't go see movies the first three weeks they are out. That way when I go, the crowds are much thinner than they would be when it first opened. [AmbiePam]
hi ambiepam, Yeah, very true some people are just so ignorant to follow and they just have a happy attitude creating noises since they feel exhilarated when the other people around get annoy with their mischievous behavior. That really the best strategy seeing movies on the last show time when most of the people in town already watch it then you could have all the time watching, understanding and enjoying the movies without those bothering nuisance which likely to be encounter if one are watching ahead of the first showing of the movies. [neelianoscet]
I have never been inside a movie house for quite sometime already. I think it's more than 5 years already. It's not that i don't want to but i'd rather go to an internet cafe and play my favorite PC game than spend an hour or two watching a movie. I use to watch movies regularly when i wan single but i guess priorities change when you get married. My thinking now is, those blockbusters will just end up getting pirated so i can watch it at home once a copy is available. But i'm not really a fan of pirated DVD but at least it's a cheap substitution. Another option is it's going to be shown on cable TV after 1 year so i can just wait until that time comes. But what i really hate watching movies in theaters is the noise and distraction others make when the movie is showing already. You're right about those things you mentioned. If i want great sounds, i have a home theater system at home. If i want a bigger screen, i have a 29 inch TV which is big enough for a regular living room. Of course it's your home so you have the place to yourself without distractions. So to me, going to the theaters is really less appealing now a days. [ybong007]
Hello neelianoscet me too used to go to theatres to watch movies earlier with my friends, but now its not happening anymore.Well mostly used to go for the movies with our interest in it, so only to enjoy it.But there have been some problems in watching it, sometimes its the crow laughing waving hands and comenting on the movie scenes, its an disturbance.Even in interval we have to make up for our snacks in such an crowded canteen, so its preferable to enjoy watching movies at home instead of theatres.Anyways keep it up with yiour participation at mylot, and also enjoy your movies.Happy mylotting. [checkmail]
nothing to say about problems because i watch movies at home..... [habby69]
Dear Neelianoscet, I really enjoyed watching Avatar, I was thinking of watching it again in the 3D version. They won many awards. I watched Sherlock Holmes twice for better understanding..LOL and I also enjoyed Chipmunk 2. However, the cinemas in Kuala Lumpur are quite good. The seats at those newer cinemas are very spacious. Before the movies started, they normally have a ads to advise us to switch off the handphones or put them in 'silent mode'. Most of the audiences are quite disciplined. Nevertheless, there is one incidence whereby there are some quarrels due to 'tendency to talk' while the movie is on, or laughing and kick the seat in front of them. Once the movie over, this people will shout at each other due to the earlier incidences.blinksurrender [Iriene88]
Like you, mainly the problems are people talking loudly (or laughing at the wrong times), or cellphone ringing and people smuggling food that smells (not badly but it just gets into your nose and will makes you real hungry). There are also people who like to "jump seats". They brought tickets into the cinema for Seat A, B, C but they jump to Seat P, Q, R. And when the rightful ticket owners came, they have to shift back to their original seats. It's not a problem for me as long as they aren't sitting on mine and if they don't do it when the show has already begun, else it's really very upsetting to be blocked. But I was a victim of those people who jump seats and someone along that seats thought my friends and I were like a nuisances and "shh-ed" us while we were trying to figure what has gone wrong because based on what I have memorized, our seats which we were staying right in front us were filled with another couple. In the end, we missed like 15 mins of the show as we went outside to ask the attendants to come in and assist us and only to find out that indeed our seats were where it was supposed to be. [warvial]
i think you had mentioned all the problems that we encountered when we went to the cinema... that's why i prefer to watch a movie from home rather than going to a cinema... it is also expensive to go to a cinema nowadays and with all the nuisances that you had mentioned, it is just not worth it... it is much more cheaper and more enjoyable to watch DVDs at home... take care and have a nice day... [lingli_78]
Yeah, I hate when people talk in cinema, it makes you unable to concentrate on the movie. I also find eating in cinema annoying. There is some serious scene and suddenly someone beside you starts to munch or rustle. It makes me so angry! Putting other people behaviour aside there's a problem I have with 3D movies. When I go to cinema I have to wear glasses since I'm short-sighted. And when you watch 3D movies you have to wear those special glasses. So I have to put them on those normal ones - it's really uncomfortable. [fornalina]
I like this discussion very much as it has given me the chance to vent out what is fuming in my heart.I am a Hollywood movie buff.I have been unable to enjoy some of the best movies because of the relentless loud talk from the people siting behind me.If they do not talk they keep pushing my seat from back by trying to alternate their legs or heaven knows what.It gets on my nerves all the time.If I am lucky enough to get a seat in the last row where there will be no one to disturb me from behind the cat calls and restless loud talk from the front benchers who are unable to understand even a single word of the movie.I always used to wonder what makes to come to a movie they do not understand and enjoy. And my wonder doubles at why should these morons spend to disturb others?lol [balasri]
Hi Neel, sadI am distracted with those moviegoers who are lovers doing some romantic intimacy while watching the movie even if the movie is comedy, action or drama. you can even hear then kissing with sounds oh..lalalala! another thing is having side discussions or small talk--either related to the film or other things. another thing is ringing of cellphone and people answering the phone where you can hear their discussionninja. glare [msfrancisco9369]
some people are just so annoying. they don't seem to have some cinema etiquette.. when i go to the cinema the first thing i do before entering the room is turning off my cellphone.. if i can't turn it off completely i put it on vibration mode so if anyone is calling me, i would be able to answer it.. if someone is calling, i leave the cinema or go to the powder room to answer the call. people should have some considerations when watching movie in cinemas its not as if they are in their own houses where they could do anything they want.. [mcdreamy25]
Well, i had the problems with people speaking loud and making noises.I believed movie theatres are for watching and enjoying, not to talk about things like critics. Some of them speak about their personal lives. And the cellphones rings and talks, well there is another problem.I have seen less of people turning bullies, but then heard about these in newspapers.Well, there are disadvantages of watching movies in theatres too. Thanks! [UltimateAsoka]
When in cinemas of our locality, I also experience these problems. There are some people who are insensitive about others. They are so selfish that they don't care about the problems they make to others. They only want to enjoy the movie as their own. They make noise by chatting with each other, making loud and indecent comments over specific scenes, whistle at hot scenes, litter peanut shells scattering around etc. [faridmadeabillion]
Well, those are the common problems faced by many movie goers ^_^ IT's normal.. BUt over here, we do have a message flashing on the screen, reminding audience to switch off our phones, or silent our phones, so as not to disturb others.. hehe ^_^ IT's a good move though, but not everybody tends to follow it.. lol =D Luckily, most ple are still kinda considerate, and thus it's not as bad.. hehe ^_^ As for ple walking around, getting snacks etc, or even toilet breaks, it's something we cant stop them, as it's their freedom.. haha =D [kun2349]
Yup. they are normal though one need to be patience during the movie show since one do not own the place so everyone could do their own things. Even with those warning many still have their cellphone sound turn on and they quite fancied it. So if you happen to sit beside them their is no way to escape those noise unless they too are too absorb with the show. And that the only hassles one encounter those couples who are instead of focusing on the movies they have something in their mind not only merely watching but also have other activities on hand.. [neelianoscet]
I am happier getting a DVD and watching it at home. The problems in the movies are that I get uncomfortable in the seats after a while, particularly during a long film. I usually end up with a pain in my neck having to see around the heads in front of me, and sometimes it's too hot or too cold in there. And finally it's quite expensive. So I will usually wait until a DVD has come down in price, buy it for a lot less than it would cost me to see in the movies, and then when I've done with it, put it up on ebay and get most of my money back! happy - Derek [derek_a]
Hiya neelian, Most of our Cinemas are closing at the moment so not much chance to go and see those films you have mentioned I have seen them advertised though on the Television. Avatar seems like a good one to me haveīnt seen enough of the rest of them to give an opinion. Biggest annoyance is when they start kicking your Seat and doing it malice. I donīt mind the noise too much though here in Spain if they like the Film enough they usually stand up and cheer saying something like Ole, Ole, Ole, which is sort of Bravo, Bravo, Bravo. [lovinangelsinstead21]
A few of the distractions that I can think of when we go to the movie theater are: 1. Talking 2. Noisy children when I go to a movie with my daughter. 3. People using their cellular phones to text others throughout the entire movie. 4. People walking past you while you are trying to watch the move. 5. Did I mention Talking?!?! [dorannmwin]
YOu know why I don't like to watch at the cinema before, there are lots of pervert in the cinema, I mean people watching like you. When they know you are alone they will take advantage of you. And have you heard of a man injecting viewer inside the cinema. It was reported before that there were one man have injection and once he was beside with someone, he inject them. That injection contain his fluid and he has aids. I was alarmed when I heard that. That was in the year 1990's. I was scared. That avoids me to watch on theatre, but it stopped when I was in college. I was annoyed also with the lights of the mobile. You know when you are watching inside the theatre the lights are turned off, but when you see a light even little light, you will turned and look at it. It divides your concentration in the movie and in that light. Your attention was moved on the light rather than on the movie. Also some of the distraction are the people who likes to stand up, like they are going on the restroom, I know that is not bad once, but irritating if they do it thrice. Like they just watch to visit the bathroom? I also get annoyed by children on the cinema, the crying and the juvenile reaction of them, I can't concentrate to watch. People talking on the phone and those who can't sit properly. Those are the disadvantage I see. [grecychunny26]
Well there are two reasons why I rarely go to the cinema these days, the first of which is that sitting for that long in a cinema is too uncomfortable for me. Someone really needs to launch a cinema which has armchairs in it instead of those hard seats. The second reason why I rarely go is the pure number of inconsiderate people who will talk through a movie, throw food at you or often kick the back of your seat. I don't understand it as I go to the cinema to watch a movie not to chat with other people, if you want to do that go somewhere else. I actually think inconsiderate people is the main cause of why so many people don't go to the cinema anymore along with the fact that even if you complain the management tend not to do anything about it. [thedailyclick]
Hi neelianoscet!^^ That is why I only watch movies in malls with good theaters/cinema. I love watching movies in the big screen especially movies with a lot of special effects. I pick cinemas with good surround system, airconditioning system, and nice seats. ^^ There are some cinemas here that play a reminder before the start of a movie that reminds people to turn off or silent their cellphones first before the movie starts to avoid disturbing other audiences. Some problems I have encountered though, first is the head.^^;; There was an unfortunate time when I got a seat at the back of a tall guy and after the movie, my neck was stiff and aching because I couldn't clearly see with that guy's head in front of me. >.< Second problem, me too, I have encountered noisy people that reacts a bit too much while watching the movie. And third, this problem I encountered when I watch movies intended for kids ^^;;, noisy kids. LOL well, that can't be helped I guess.^^ [secretbear]
Sometimes the seats are ruined or wet from spilled sodas. People kicking your seats or talking loudly. Sometimes they block your view if they are taller than you. Cellphones ringing. [atv818]
Well, most cinemas have a warning to audiences on cell phones but not on talking loud. I wish they have. Here in the city, most of the cinemas are nice and strictly seating capacity. You only have to pay a little higher but its worth it. [triplejazzm51]
