What Was The First Ever Movie You Watched In The Cinema

I could recall when I was still about 4-5years old, my uncle accompanied us (my brother and I) to our first-ever cinema movie. It was 'The Neverending story', I don't recall much of it (I actually did look for the video to watch it all over again when I was older), all I could remember was the big flying white dog. Anyhow, what was your first ever movie? Could you recall what age you were and what were the circumstances? It's fun remembering these memories.

[ckyera]

When I was around 4 or 5, much like yourself, my mom dragged me to go and see "Titanic" with her. I thought that it was dumb at the time, and soon lost interest. After this, I don't remember going to see many movies with my mom, most likely because during the "Titanic" I was messing with the woman's hair in front of me! [bwanna]
Hahahaha... Titanic [laydee]

Ok this will give away my age but I remember my Mom taking me to see Bambi in the theater when I was a young girl. I am not really sure how old I was but I am guessing it was in the early 60's. Not really sure if this was the first movie I saw in a theater or not but it is what I can recall as being the first. It is a good memory. [ryzach]
Hehehehe.. Whoah, Bambi. hehehe.. I never thought Bambi was shown on the big screen hehehe.. Anyhow, no worries, your secret is safely locked in this topic. [laydee]

Wow I am not sure but I think my first movie was when I was in college .I think I watched Devil in a blue dress starring Denzil Washington ,I think I was in 1998 but I may be wrong. It was ok but not all that impressive ,maybe one of the lesser known movies that Denzil did .It was an exciting experience for me nevertheless and I like the smell, sights and sounds of the cinema,it was exquisite though. [ronnyb]

Hi there... My first movie I watched in a cinema was ABBA -- The Movie. I was there with another girl, she was the daugther of my fathers boss. It was an exciting experience! happy [JBorgL]

Hi laydee. Not only do I remember my first movie, it shaped my life. I watched "The Sound of Music" four times in the theater and learned all the songs. Maria's outlook on life was the cornerstone for building the foundation of my life. Songs like "I Have Confidence in Me" helped me overcome some of my poor self-esteem. When my kids were little, I taught them the famous Do/Re/Me song. We sang it together all the time and it was a sure-fire way to settle down three kids by distracting them. It is fun to remember. Did "The Neverending Story," or the memory of the flying dog impact your life? [anawar]
Wow, Sound of Music. Hmmm.. The only impact of the Neverending Story was the fact that I'd like to be a princess because the princess there was so pretty. Hahahhaha.. [laydee]

Hey well I dont remember when was the first time I watched a movie, coz in my childhood I have gone for movies with my parents but csn't get there names now....The first movie which I had seen in my senses and which I can remember is a hindi movie cslled "Roja".....I was in class 2 at that time I guess....It was a good one.... [crazybubu]

I watched first movie in cinema "Terminator 3" in 2004. I surprised to see big screen on Cinepax cinema., which is most moderate and has nice sound system, i enjoyed it very much, At this day i was so emotional that i fought with my friend without any reason. [umer5222]

The first movie I saw in the theater was "JAWS" in 1974. From that day forward, I don't trust going into the water at the beach w/o constantly checking around me. Silly i know [ziyadahinc212]
I know, don't worry, you're not alone with that, I guess ever since that movie, all of us are afraid of sharks specially when we're at sea. [laydee]

I remember a hand full of movies I watched as a kid but I am not sure which one was the first. I remember seaing Bambi at the theater. I remember seeing the first Star Wars. My parents used to take us to the Drive in and there would be the Pink Panther movies there, but I always seemed to fall asleep during those. I also remember seeing Herbie the Love Bug. My aunt used to take me to see Barbara Striesand movies, and I remember seeing Funny Girl with her. But as for which one of those was the first I don't remember. [ladym33]

Mine will too give away my age. I think I was 6 or 7 and my Aunt took my cousin and I to see the disney movie That Darn Cat. I don't remember alot about it, other than the cat, he was a big pretty cat. [jewels49]

The first movie I ever saw in the theater was "Grease". I was just 4. I thought it was boring and I fell asleep. I don't remember much of it but the end. Very strange as an adult that I can't make it through the movie without falling asleep. [gina2008]

The first movie I ever wathed is Jurassic Park I was too young and a child and didnt really knew whats going on. Just remembered a few scenes of dianosours when I tried to recollect. It was a good movie when I saw it a few years later :) [murtuza89]

I totally forgot. I couldn't remember what was the first movie I watch. So, maybe I will just guess, I think I watch a local movie with my mom when I was in grade school.... [joannaleed]

i know that movie but forget the title??? its that never ending story???? for me the first movie that i watched in the cinema is EWOKS ^have u known that.. [rhayde29]
YES, I loved it! [ziyadahinc212]

As a child, my brothers and I had more freedom watching movies on weekends. That was the time when we could still afford it, so we could watch new movies every week. If there was nothing good in the small town where we lived in the province, we would splurge on ice cream and cola. Yes, cola was a treat for us then something we did not have everyday. I guess the first movie that I can recall watching was Superman with Christopher Reeves. Or was it Star Wars? With all the movies we were able to watch, I really cannot mention just a single movie. And my brothers and I were heartbroken when we could not watch the third installment of Indiana Jones because we had fallen on hard times by then. But looking back, we had a happy childhood with these weekend treats to the movies. I remember we would save money by walking to the town proper instead of taking a jeepney ride. By walking, we could still have money left over for snacks after watching the movies. [anne25penn]
WHOA! Anne just how far did U live from town?? [ziyadahinc212]

Hey Laydee. :). I can remember my very first cinema experience with my Aunt and cousins. We were watching "Switch." I can't even remember the actors, but I surely cannot forget the experience. The screen was literally larger than life! And I was already 11 that time. Yeah, it took me that long. :) [milfea]

I was about 12 years old when I first went to a theater with my parents. It was a local movie which was a block buster. The movie name was 'Bombaiyer Bombete'. I liked the movie a lot. Now I am going to the theaters almost every week.lol [sagnik42]

I was nine years old when I got to see "Forbidden Planet" starring Robbie the Robot. I thought he was the most fabulous creature in the world and dreamed for months afterward that I had a friend like Robbie! He could do anything. I was a shy, shy, shy child and having a protector like Robbie would have made my world a happy, safe place or so I thought. Then at age 16, I suddenly realized I did have a Robbie in my life, but I called him Daddy. I also discovered that being TOO protected isn't necessarily good. It can, in fact, keep you on the fringes of living instead of in the mainstream. Thus, my deep affection for Robbie the Robot ended. Sigh [mysticmaggie]

My very first movie was the "Wizard of Oz" and I was 5 or 6 and it scared me to death. I had nightmares about the witch for a long time after. I was so scared I did not want to to the movies again as I thought the witch was still inside the theatre and she would get me. [whiteheather39]

The first movie I remember seeing in a movie theatre was called "Herbie Rides Again" when I was 6 in 1974. I think I saw it with "Herbie, the Love Bug". I don't remember how close we were sitting and we might have seen in at a drive-in movie. I also don't remember how we decided to go. I may have seen the commercial of the movie on T. V. I just remember how BIG that little Volkswagen bug was!LOL Sincerely in Christ, Leesa C. Eph.2:8,9 [iamprolife2005]

Honestly I must be old. Because that was way back when. When I was growing up Drive-in was the way to go. I remember watching Footloose at the drive-in and even younger than that I remember going with my family to go watch I believe Star Wars. So when cinemas came around the world was getting upset about drive-ins getting less and less. I do remember going to watch Dirty Dancing. But I went to a cinema before that but do not remember what I went to watch. My dad used to work as a auditor and he would take my friend and I to the movies to help with his job. We would try to get in rated R without adult supervision and would also have to count everyone that came through the door for movies. Sometimes these places would let us in and sometimes not well you know if they let us in to R then they were written up. Then other times we would not be let in and would have to say well there is my dad so they would go ahead. That just shows there are people watching these theaters and what they do. [hagirl]

I think it was Snow White, but it could've been Sleeping Beauty, but I really don't think those were the first, just the first I remember going to. [ElicBxn]

The first one I recall seeing as a kid was Little Mermaid. Kinda funny that kids don't realize that most Disney movies are not "new" but recycled classics. [3SnuggleBunnies]

My first cinema movie was Titanic, and I watched it with my parents and brother when I was about 7 years old. I remembered at that time because I was very little, my mother would cover my eyes with her hand whenever there was any unappropriate scene on the screen.haha..It was a very memorious moment for me. [dimsumz]

I love to watch " the never ending story" but it is not the first movie I watch in cinema. The first movie I watched in cinema is Jurassic Park. My parent bring my sibling and me to watch movie for the first time. I remembered that I managed to finish watched the whole story but both of my sibling fall asleep half way through it. [joandevil]

I saw Superman II in 1981. My older cousin took me and I was so excited... we went into town on the bus. I was about 8. It remains a special film though I went though I period of disowning it. The theme tune still makes me rock to this today [Elspethr]

My first cinema movie was Home Alone when I was about 7 years old. [Picquarian]
