Well, it wasn't the scariest to me, but when I watched "Scream", the first one, my sister was too freaked out to go home by herself. I got a kick out of that. Yeah, I know, I shouldn't have. : ( As for my scariest movie, at least to me? It would be "The Birds" directed by Albert Hitchcock. I know it didn't have the thrills movies now days has, it was so real and possible looking, that it freaked me out. [AmbiePam]
I've seen "Scream". It did freaked me out too. I haven't seen "The Birds" yet. I like to watch it. Hope I can get hold of a copy in dvd of that movie. Thanks alot.(",) [lani0529]

I myself now, I do not watch horror movies.....due to what I believe they do to your mind...But in the past....The first one that scared the crap out of me is "the fog" , then there was freddy!! but now.......none. I stopped watching them, and I will not allow them in my house! [thowell]
Horror movies do create fear within you. I don't believe anything the movie represents that's why after watching we just forget all about it. We just wanted a little thrill and scream. But, for those little kids, we don't allow them to watch because they are still young and get scared easily. It can even cause trauma to some. I understand your concern. Thanks for reminding me.(",) [lani0529]

yeah the shutter is good movie, but i almost think the best is the Ring (japanese version), if you have watching the ring in japanese version, you gonna say it's the best. [erique]
I'm not that scared when I watched "The ring", American version. I didn't know that there is a japanese version. I haven't watch it yet. Thanks, I might get a copy of it.(",) [lani0529]

The scariest movie for me would be "The Exorcist". I've seen this movie first when I was a kid, I still remember it until I grew older. I actually already forgot the title until I saw it again but I haven't forgotten the scary scenes. [brew2x]
I've seen all of the the "exorcist" movies. The last one was the "exorcism of Emily Rose". I did scream a few times. When I watched i again, it didn't scare me anymore.(",) [lani0529]

The movie that scared me the most and actually disturbed my sleep was Psycho, the original directed by Alfred Hitchcock. The scene at the end in the house was not what I was expecting. I happend to get lucky (or so I thought) that I was seeing a showing at an art cinema, so it was a big screen, needless to say I jumped out of my seat literally, I was just not ready for the impact of the scene. [stibigirl]
I've seen that movie. Really creepy! Psycho movies scares me,too!(",) [lani0529]

I am not a biog fan of horror movies, I prefer comic ones. However, one of my friend told me the 'Evil Death' is the most scariest movei ever made. So just, out of curoisty, I went to see it with him. And, surprisingly, I found the movie childish, and even funny! It made me anything but scare! I would like to watch more of such funny movies ! In fact, in India, they have made a mess of horror films! They attempt to make it long sacry, but most of the time, it the output is sheer entertainment! May be, I have got my own ways to interpret things! [hariramyadav1950]
I don't consider "Evil Death" as one of the horror movies. Its ridiculous. I saw the first one but, I didn't finish the other 3 series. I'm disappointed that its not really a scary movie.(",) [lani0529]

i'm also a fan of horror movies. try watching saw 2, a tale of two sisters, the grudge (japanese version), feng shui.. some of my favorites [breenjalf]
I've seen all those horror movies you've mentioned. I'd say that the movie "the grudge" is by far the scariest of them all.(",) [lani0529]

for me it's the movie "Exorcist". after watching this movie i avoided the stairs of my house for few months!lol it is a real scary movie for any age.original japanese version of "The Ring" is good also but not that much as the "exorcist". [kaplya]
it's only my personal nickname for the movies made in "Friday The 13th" series;)where there's a strange creature named Jason who brutally kills everyone who comes on his way without any hesitation etc. probably u have already watched it:) [kaplya]

Lots of the Asian horror films are doing pretty good. I prefer watching them than the english ones lately because they are pretty scary. English horror movies nowadays arent the same as those classics anymore. I do remember Psycho when i was younger, Elm Street and Halloween and lol yeah Evil Dead. Am i right that Evil Dead was the one of the chinese zombie where you can make them stop walking with a red paper on their forehead? yeah comical horror . But as far as i remember that was good too:) [sechsey]
True enough! We are into Japanese and Korean horror movies. They are alot more scarier than American ones. Most American horror movies are also gross and full of blood to scare the viewers but Asian ones are not but, still they scare you the most. Evil Dead is not really scary, infact, its a ridiculous movie.heheh(",) [lani0529]

For me it was Amityville Horror. Not exactly sure why it scared me, but it totally had me on edge the rest of the night. [MusiclAngl]
Hi!(",) I haven't known about this movie but, I can tell that it does scare the hell out of you.(",) Next time..try to watch a comedy movie after watching a horror movie. It might help get rid of the nightmares.(",) [lani0529]

thye make me vommit..so i try not to watch them..the worst and most sickening one was hellraiser..ny sisters like them and sometimes i would have to sit too..but half way through hellraiser i vommitted so badly i went up to bed..it was discusting...the bit where all the worms come out of his head..yuck.. [yanjiaren]
Oh, gross! hehhe. I guess, you better not watch horror movies again.(",) [lani0529]

i like horror movies.. i dont think i get scared easily, I usually laugh watching horror movies like the ring, grudge,,etc. its supposed to be funny but their make up looks so silly its not frightening but amusing! Anyways, i also like the Shutter.. that one is freaky. Geez! the ghost of the dead girl is always riding his shoulder and it never goes away..creepy! I like the way that movie is unpredictable. Another scariest movie is THe Eye and The Sense, both are asian horror films. [mayenskie]
Hahaha!!!! me too. Guess what? I think we'll have so much fun if we're watching together at the same time. Because like you, I also laugh at scary movies... I love watching horror films, maybe, i want to scare myself, but i end up laughing... Is there something wrong with us?? haha.. I didn't get scared when i watched Shutter, neither the Grudge, nor the other films... But i screamed when I saw the eye of that girl in the "The Ring" movie. I thought I'll die the same. That was a pretty good revelation of the reason why the victims die with their mouths open... (Because when I screamed, my mouth was left hanging in that scene) hahaha... then, I laughed again after that. [pearl1003]

i got scared watching this movie called red rose. i could not sleep for 3 hole days... [amjjam]
Hi amjjam!(",) Thanks for sharing.(",) Better not watch too much horror movies.hehehe [lani0529]

the japanese version of the ring series. it still scares me up to this day. it was much better than the hollywood version. the japanese version's approach doesn't employ any music, just your classic all acting scenes, then without you expecting it, the scary happens, with a really loud sharp eerie sound... [pagibig]

1. The Grudge 2 2. The Grudge 1 3. The Ring 2 4. The Ring 1 5. Seed of Chucky [Clearr]
I don't want to watch Chucky horror movies again. It scare the the hell out of me. I will never watch Seed of Chucky.heheh. I feel a different "scary feeling" and its not good.(",) [lani0529]

I'm the type of person who easily gets scared of almost anything. That's why I really don't watch horror movies. Because after watching those types of movies, it will be glued to my mind and I will really find it hard to sleep or do anything alone. I'm that scared. So I realy refrain from watching horror movies. [clod0327]
Better not watch horror movies if you feel that way. Enjoy other kinds of movie...comedy is good and also love and romance movies!(",) [lani0529]

I hate scary movies! They scare the hell out of me. But, I think The Exorcism of Emily Rose is a brilliant movie although I had trouble going to sleep at night. [Josette_J]
Better not watch if you are scared.hehhee. I agree with you, the content of the movie "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" is powerful.(",) [lani0529]

for me, it's the movies based on reality events just like chainsaw massacre and other real stories!...i love it because it's very bloody and very well portrayed!... [blacknight000]
Yeah, about Chainsaw Massacre, how much of that really happened, and how much was embellished? I've never seen the old version or the new version with Jessica Biel, but it always comes up in a scary movie discussion, and I just wondered. Thanks! [AmbiePam]

Aww come on Chucky and Tiffany are so cute : ) Chuckys song is Ugly : \ [Clearr]

I think its Scream,Saw,The Hostel and Dracula! [sid_rocks919]
I've seen the movie "The Hostel". It didn't really scare me.(",) Thanks for sharing!(",) [lani0529]

Ghost ship for me wasn't really that scary though there are scenes that were really gross,(",)I haven't seen "Cabin fever" yet. Have a scary time watching horror movies!(",) [lani0529]

I think the scariest movie i've watched would be The Blairwitch Project. When you imagine yourself being in that situation, i'd probably be scared to death too. Their emotions were so real... it was like it was the original video (the movie was said to be true to life). [purplesea]
Thanks for responding!(",)I've heard about that movie but, I haven't watched that movie yet.(",) Thanks for reminding. I'll sure get a copy of that.(",) [lani0529]

As I can see it, you are indeed a horror movie fanatic. Hope I'll be able to watch the other movies you've mentioned. Have a great time screaming as you watch other horror movies!(",) [lani0529]

tht would be the ring!! The Ring is a 2002 American remake of the 1998 Japanese horror film, Ring (which was also known as Ringu). It was directed by Gore Verbinski and starred Naomi Watts and Martin Henderson. This movie was number 20 on the cable channel Bravo's list of the 100 Scariest Movie Moments. [nishanity]

some horror movies that scared me are JU-on (japan) and shuttle (thailand)... usually, most horror movies from thailand scare me.. [frozen84]

When I was in college, the scariest horror movie I've ever seen was " 13 Ghosts " It was because the ghosts in that movie were really terrifying. When I went home after watching that movie I had a hard time sleeping. [DiorelleBabe]

well i hate scary movies but then again i like that feel of being scared i have to admit its all about where you watch it tho. i watched the ring in a very dark old room and that scared me alot. i watched other movies which were ment to be worse but didnt scare me... the ring was also cary with so many things that suddently pop out. cheers Plunt [Pluntt]
Hi Plunt!(",) You really set the ambiance to be conducive for a scary atmosphere.(",) That's fun.(",) Thanks for sharing!(",) [lani0529]

Hi koolraj!(",) Thanks for sharing!(",) [lani0529]

I can't remember the scariest horror movie that I've seen. I don't really watch horror movies because it gives me nightmares for days so I avoid watching it. [magnet]
Hi magnet!(",) Thanks for reviving this discussion of mine. Have a nightmare-free sleep!(",) [lani0529]

Not so much the scariest film, but more the scariest moment in a film. I haven't seen an entire film that scared me that much. The moment in question was in John Carpenter's remake of 'The Thing' - there was only three or four of them left and they had all given a blood sample. So there he was (Kurt Rusell of course) in all his menacing glory sitting down with a hot wire in his hand ready to dip each sample of blood . . . and one sample did respond, and I actually jumped. I was only a kid at the time, but it was a geat moment. I haven't actually thought about that for a long, long time. Thanks! ;-) [Alkamyst]
Thank you for responding alkamyst!(",) Welcome to mylot! Hope you are having an enjoyable time here. I haven't seen that film but it sounds a bit scary. Great day and God bless! [lani0529]

Recent I watched one, I cant remember the title but it was short in the Amazon with red indians as actors-am not that young, but the scenes in the movie still scares me today. People were captured from the forests and taken to the king for beheading. One by one the captives heads were chopped as the king smiled-thousand wer killed for pleasure-but one young and handsome one caused the sun to blacken just as the killers raised their matchettes to chop of his head. Then they decided that they should be speared and killed as they are made to run in open ground. everybody was killed except the one young man who caused the sun to blacken. He was chased, but one by one he killed all his pursuers. He was in time to re-unite with his lovely wife, son and a new born son she bore alone in a flooded pit. Infact it was he who pulled her out the wife from the flooded pit. It was an amazing movie. [academic2]
Hello academic2!(",) The movie you are talking about is entitled "Apocalypto". It's my favorite movie and I did watched it 4 times already. Even if I just read the subtitle throughout the movie because the actors are speaking in their native tongue, it still worth the watching for. Thanks for responding! By the way, I just watched a horror movie last night entitled "The Ghost Inside". It's a Chinese movie. It was a bit scary. [lani0529]

I love scary horror movies, the scarier and gorier the better, I have never heard of Shutter, sounds good is it an American movie? Will have to look out for it thank you. The most scariest horror film I have seen is The Fly 2, it was graphic, horrific and ewwwww even too much for me, who can happily sit and watch Saw films and Hostel without flinching. I will never see that film again it was gut wrenchingly sick! [wolfie34]
