usually on weekdays ...i love movies especially with my GF [manigandan18]
Now aren't you sweet!!Lori [dumblnddzzy]
When I was a kid and we went to the theatre, we always brought our own snacks. The theatre never said a word about it. Now as an adult and we go to the movies, we usually eat before going. So we only buy a large popcorn and drinks from there. It's expensive enough. [Chey1970]
It's rediculous how expensive it is now..Tha's why i bring my own snacks..Lori [dumblnddzzy]
We dont go anymore. We got kicked out to.I took a couple of bananas and was eating one when I was asked to leave the premises.Well,I didnt go without a long verbal battle,as I was unable to see the managers point of view.I continued eating the banana as we spoke, finished it and sat down again. This guy didnt like me taking the piss, but every body else thought I was more entertaining than the film.I asked for our money back, and told him I wasnt budging till I got it. He gave us the money back to get rid of us.I saw him in a nightclub one night when I was pretty wasted,he was really quite sheepish. But I wasnt a danger to him,I just took the piss some more. Some of these people really do take their jobs to far. What difference did me having a banana really make. The kids who go with parents ensure the parents spend many penny getting ripped off buying snacks.I wouldnt go back, out of a matter of principle. And before anyone says it may have been a safety issue with the banana skin,it wasnt,I put it in a bin. [rintintin]
I second wolfie!! They charge $15.00 to see a good movie here in so. cal. I hate paying full price for anything anyway. I refuse to pay there prices at the snack bar...& I wouldn't go back either it was the principle of the matter..period!!Lori [dumblnddzzy]
I don't go to the movie theaters anymore. It's way too expensive and for all the money you pay you have to listen to rude people talking, ringing phones, screaming babies - nah, I will rent a dvd or if it's a new release I will wait until it becomes available on cable's pay per view. [howard96h]
Oh my God - your good, no I don't have any. Hahaha [howard96h]
Wow Lori LOL you got kicked out for that? Well, I never! Nope I have never brought in my own stuff, but I have thought about it haha..I always buy popcorn and a pepsi or coke that is it for me..rare but sometimes I do like sugar daddys (the candy that is LOL) hehehe xo [TheHairDresser]
LOL your funny, I'll take a sugar daddy{real one}that is...LOL..Lori [dumblnddzzy]
Yeah, I always get a snack cause sometimes in the middle of the movie, there comes boring times when I feel like I don't want to watch it than I start eating my usual movie snack that is popcorn. I also drink cola beverages. [shoumik12]
If the movie is boring then I eat more candy, which isn't good for me...lol...Lori [dumblnddzzy]
Yes i do but no way would i buy it from the cinema, have you seen the prices, out of this world.I think people are stupid to pay those ridiculous prices, which apparently in UK are done to cover staff costs, like their wages. Well find another way to make money,do not take it out the mouths of the public. A hot dog & regular size coke is around £7 in Glasgow, get real man ! I have never been caught, even if i did i would not just walk out,i would put over my point, without of course causing an argument & then having to be removed. [LoudnProud]
My B/F got embarrassed at me cause I was being very loud about getting kicked out..He didn't apppreciate me at all...LOL...Lori [dumblnddzzy]
Well Lori I cant tell you the last time I have been to a movie. We always rent them. Its so much easier and cheaper. But back when I did go I got popcorn of course. And something to drink some sort of soda. How could anyone pass up that popcorn? One whiff of it and your up there getting some lol. [dianel]
Yeah the popcorn is my downfall especiaslly with fresh butter on it...Lori [dumblnddzzy]
I have to say that I very seldom go to an actual theatre to watch a movie. It is always my luck to get that person behind me that can not keep their feet still. I also get the man or woman that sits in front of me and they are so tall or her hair is high and I can't see the movie. I can not enjoy watching a movie this way. I also can not see pay ten dollars for a ticket to be annoid. When I do go to the actual theatre I do take candy in my bag. I buy popcorn and soda. This is about twenty dollars for three of us. That is a terrible price since it is only one large popcorn, one large soda and one medium soda. As for the candy to buy it at the theatre it would cost you two or more per box of candy. I can get the candy at a local retail store for one dollar and that is the same size the theatre sells. I have been very lucky and never been asked to leave the theatre. However, I do believe if I was ever asked to leave because of my cand, I would never go back. Sorry to here your story. [sizzle3000]
Yeah it's highway robbery at the theatre I think anyway.. I can't see paying 2 -3 $'s per candy when you can get them at the $ store for a buck!! I never went back to that theatre either..Lori [dumblnddzzy]
(chuckle) How DARE they kick you out, don't they know who you are. That is funny that they kicked you out for bringing water and candy in. You gotta be more sneaky the next time. hehe. Where I live we have a theatre that has family night on Wed. dollar movie, dollar popcorn and dollar pop. I will sometimes go on that night with me mom. Then I will buy the pop and popcorn. [Polly1]
I know huh Polly!! How dare they!!! I wish they had dollar night here but they don't...Lori [dumblnddzzy]
I always cheat, I always take my own, well I strongly object to paying well over the odds inflated prices that cinemas charge, they got you as a captive audience, they sting you for high priced tickets then they sting you double for food that is double or treble the price you would pay in the shops. Sorry to be a miser but I take my own bottled water and sweets with me, although we always ate out at a restaurant first so we wouldn't need anything to eat when watching the film, I hate popcorn anyhow. [wolfie34]
I think I'm gonna start eating a meal before I go to the movies, that sounds more sensible to me..I'm always munching on something though...& summer is coming very fast...Lori [dumblnddzzy]
Most of the time we do. I love my popcorn and always have to have a drink, if not I bring my own bottle of water and hide it. I have on occasion bought in MacDonalds LOL [maddysmommy]
Nope big handbag and still buy something at the counter :) [maddysmommy]
nope dont go to movie wait for them to come on tv cheaper that way [Lakota12]
yup ya would I remeber being able to go to the movie house and get in for a DIme and popcorn and a drink were a nickle each. Would be great if we could do that again .Or een a quarter like when I was a teen [Lakota12]
I hardly ever go to the movies. As a matter of fact, we haven't been to the movies since we adopted the boys. They go to the movies with their friend's parents sometimes. Back when we were childless, my husband and I went to the movies about once a year. I always got a diet coke and we shared a huge popcorn with tons of butter in it. [girlgonefishing]
I love the popcorn with extra butter on it, it's just not the same at home..lol...Lori [dumblnddzzy]
On the very rare occasion that we get to go to the movies, we would buy our popcorn and drinks at the counter but candies we would have in our jacket pockets lol... It is sooooo expensive to buy inside the theatre. You must have been too engrossed in the movie not to see the attendants watching you lol.... [elemental69]
I think they had it in for me anyway...lol..Lori [dumblnddzzy]
Movies...Hmm, I usually go on Tuesday if I go cause it's a lousy four bucks, and Most times I eat before going in, or right after...How dare they charge five bucks for a wiener stuck in a bun? [Grace35]
I know you can buy a whole box of wieners & buns for less than $5.00 bucks...Lori [dumblnddzzy]
When we go to the movies, we usually take our own soda in a bottle with us... then we will purchase the popcorn with extra butter. Going to the movies just isn't going to the movies without the popcorn! lol [KKKBsmom]
I agree with you gotta have the popcorn no matter how much it cost...Lori [dumblnddzzy]
I am too frugal to pay for anything at the movie theatre, food wise. It's way too much money, considering when I do go to see a flick, it's with 3 kids in tow. If anything, we bring our own snacks, but I've told the boys how it's against the rules, so they need to be very careful or else we'll get kicked out. What a way to parent, eh? lmao! [CanadaGal]
lmao indeed!! Well at least you can afford to take the 3 kids even if you do have to hide the snacks. I think they expect us to hide snacks any way....LOL...LOri [dumblnddzzy]
lori i always take my own snacks to the movies and my own drinks.it is just so expensive to buy snacks at the movies.now they have hot food at the movies so i just get the children mcdonalds and sneak it in.no-one ever asks and we have never been caught.cheers sue [suehan1]
I think this was a 'new' employee cause they were loud about it...lmao all the way out the door!!Lori [dumblnddzzy]
I was so mad once (long, long ago) that they forced me to throw my Macs french fries away and just miss the movie. They only allowed the snacks they sell here - they claim fries (or any non-approved food) will dirty their place. C'mon, so popcorns are all squeaky clean? Come to think of it, this gives me an idea. Maybe I should buy popcorns once of this day and make sure I wipe my sticky fingers on all their seats.:P [lordwarwizard]
Better yet, buy a big popcorn with extra butter & 'whoops accidently' spill it on the seats & floors..lol...Lori [dumblnddzzy]
I'll sometimes get a drink, and I often smuggle in some candy - but not much. I've discovered some jawbreakers at a candy store in the mall and I haven't yet needed more than 3 of them to get thru a movie! [ElicBxn]
I can just picture you with a giant jawbreaker in your mouth!!too funny..Lori [dumblnddzzy]
When my husband and I go to watch a movie in the cinema, most of the time we don't buy any food or drinks there. My husband isn't interested in eating snacks. And without food and drink, we can focus ourselves in the movie. [youless]
sometimes i bring my own snacks , like oatmeal cookies , but if i do get snacks at the movies , always get gummies and rasinettes , because i always need a snack that can last me through the whole movie, and i hate loud snacks during an important part in the movie , like if a person opening a bag of chips ruslting the bag and theres an important part in the flim but you can barely hear it cause of the bag chips right near you ..i hate that [Gesusdid]
I know!! WHY do they sell snacks that are going to be 'loud'?? It doesn't make any sense...LOL...LOri [dumblnddzzy]
I don't always get something to eat when I go to the movies, Lori, but when I do get something to eat, I get popcorn (unbuttered) chocolate covered peanuts, and a Mega Coca Cola. [Transdisc]
They make popcorn 'unbuttered'?? I didn't know they made it this way...Lol...Lori [dumblnddzzy]
shame on you , your not supposed to get caught LOL, me i let some one else do the dirty work and carry in the stiff in ,and yes most times i do get the same things to eat from there and also what i bring from home.. [mrpippo]
I think I gave myself away.. I had a rather large hand bag...LOl...Lori [dumblnddzzy]
I rarely go to the cinema. Several years ago when i was living and working in a city, we received free movie tickets. We decided to go to the session after work and rushed to grab some takeaway to eat while we watched the movie. We were hungry and it would soon be dinner time. We get to the theatre and there is a sign saying something to the effect that food bought off the premises could not be taken into the theatre, so we had to sit outside while we ate our dinner. We missed the start of the movie and had nothing to eat as we watched. How disappointing it was. So now I take in a hidden stash and eat at my leisure. I sometimes like to have a choc top ice cream though. We get them at intermission. The goodies at cinemas is so frightfully expensive!! [MsTickle]
I used to take my own package of M&Ms and hide them in my purse, because the snacks are sooo expensive. A medium pop and medium popcorn is $7 at my theater. I realized that I was sending the wrong message to my kids. If my go after supper, we don't get anything to eat...we are still full. If we go to the 9:00 movie we usually get popcorn and a pop and my husband and I share it...I can't eat all of the popcorn or pop anyway. Nadine [Nadinest]
I haven't been to the movies in a long time. I love watching them at home where I can be comfortable. But when I do go, I'd buy popcorn there. I have been known to sneak things inside my purse, though. I never got kicked out of the movies -- that's nasty! I'm surprised they had enough staff to even notice. [Anhedonia]
Oh yes thats my hubby's favorites, popcorn and drinks while watching the movie. Are we not allowed to bring our own food to the theater? [giePortlandOR_08]
I always sneak my own snacks in, if i bring any at all. The price of food and drinks is just way too much in the theater, plus the cost of the ticket. Most of the time i just wait until the movie comes out and then i'll rent it. [chris57455]
Yeah that is the best way to do it. BUT if I wait for it to come out on video then I forget about it..lol..lOri [dumblnddzzy]
no kidding they kicked you out oh my. I usually get popcorn too although I am not supposed to eat it because of diverticulitis but now the thought is that popcorn is okay . I usually take some form of candy in my purse as so often I go low while in a long movie so have to have a quick source of sugar like some lifesavers or jelly beans no chocolate though. I have never been caught or I suppose I could have been kicked out. [Hatley]
We brought food into the movie theater for years! The prices the theaters charge for concessions is astronomical. We'd stock up on candy, trail mix, or boxes of goldfish crackers for cheap and then head over to the dollar movies or a movie I got free passes to...so we really spent next to nothing. We rarely go to the movies anymore but for a while we were going once or twice a week and never got caught! :) [brimia]
