Of course i turn the lights off...lights are distracting. To get engrossed in the movie i feel its necessary to do this...and in my case its not tv...its my Desktop pc with 4.1 surround, so its like a miniature theatre right here inside my room!...hurray for technology. [pterion]
I never turn off lights while watching tv,I find it very difficult to adjust even in movie halls,as a complete dark room with a color television irritates my eyes.It is harmful for my eyes. [chirantani]
Well, I don't like switching off all the lights, but I like it all dimmed and cozy feeling. So I would only keep a small lamp switched on, but the whole area would be dim. :D I like to feel like I'm in a movie theatre I guess. [xtinelee]
I like to watch movies in the dark, but not horror movies. Lollol [diansinta]
Sometimes at night I will turn the lights off, when there are no kids running around. but most of the time I leave them on, and thats because are bouncing around. lol. [shymurl]
nope i don turn off my lights. my eyes get very strained dur to teh constnt exposure to direct light in teh dark. in the dy i usually pull of my curtains but i don shut off teh light completely. [fleur_petal]
If I turn off the lights, I suppose it's, if anything, to make it less confortable! On the other hand, I do find it creates a more confined atmousphere, making it feel more personla almost. Of course, when I'm eating ice cream or something with a film, I feel it best to have some light because otherwise you end up with a mess al over yourself and the sofa - unless of course you are very careful, by which point I'd have made it 20 minutes into the film and realise that I have absolutely no idea of what was going on in the film...... but anyway. I like to have the lights off when I'm on my own and not chucking ice cream everywhere! [andy1000000]
I definitely do. However turning off ALL lights makes me uncomfortable as well, so I'll arrange something, like I may turn on a lamp in the next room or I may light a few candles. [Zalvor]
yes, of course.. We enjoy watching movies with the lights off! especially when it's a horror movie! :) [ryshawneo]
I do. I try to turn off all of our lights when they are not in use because it will save us money on our electric bill. I do not like alot of lights on anyway. I like to watch movies when it is dark in the house. The light puts a glare on our television screen anyway. [stephcjh]
Whenever we watch them at home, we make it a point to make movie watching at home more comfortable and better than that of the movie house. Turning the lights off is one of the effects that make the viewing a success. The pluses are the good surround speakers, the comfy pillows, the comfy places to lie down or sit on,the snacks, etcetera etcetera.. [mommyscribbles]
I am aware it's not healthy for the eyes so, I don't turn off the lights while watching tv shows or movies at home. [clowdine]
I used to before I married my husband I always turned the lights off when I watched a movie but he didn't like to do that so now I have got used to watching them with the lights on. [luvstochat]
Yes I do.Absolute silence and darkness with me and my movie is my style. [balasri]
yes i turn off d light which makes me feel that i m in hall . [poornima3021]
Hey manya. I always would like to watch movies with the light on. It just make me feel safe and comfortable. I guess I am afraid of dark somehow. [chrissieatu]
Yeps, I think it's better turning off the light, it seems as if in theater and the movie becomes more enjoyable. [excellence7]
Now, if I turned out the lights, how could I do something else at the same time? And I always do something else if I'm not in the theater. [ElicBxn]
I sometimes turn the light off and sometimes I don't. it depends on what kind of mood I'm in. I love to watch scary movies in the dark during Halloween. It adds too the air of mystery that happens during that time of the year. it makes it all the more frightening. [snowy22315]
If all the lights in the sitting room are off, the darkness makes the glare of the tv screen more conspicuous and harsh. The intense and blinding light make my eyes feel dazzled and uncomfortable. So with all the lights on everything that displayed on the screen is soft and attractive. I then could truly enjoy watching tv movies in the night at home. [lkbooi]
No I don't. I feel that movies are best watched in the cinemas. It is just different there lol. rasp So if I watch movies at home, it is just like a normal program. And so, I see no need to switch off the lights. Cheers! lol [lordwarwizard]
manya pearl I am with you. I get a headache when watching television with the lights turned off. its most uncomfortable and if I am by myself I never do turn the lights off at all. Sometimes my son will turn them off when he watches but not me. I get to feeling sort of seasick. lol [Hatley]
I don't. I have a lamp that has a three way light bulb. I keep it on the lowest when I want to see a movie. The only time I saw a film without any lights was Platoon many years ago.Someone somewhere said to really understand how it really was is to see Platoon with the lights off. So I did.It was great. [sarahruthbeth22]
I dont either.Because the TV camera switch can harm your eyes. You konw that? [KevinDing]
Never. I do not know anyone among my friends and family who do! [whiteheather39]
The lamp next to the chair I sit in when I watch tv glares in the tv set and you can see the lamo on the screen. This annoys me so I turn out the light. [muscles4me]
same here.i even feel some horrible if all the lights are turn off. [xialinye]
No i dont ... its not good for the eyes as they get very strained and then i start getting an head ache [cutegemini166]
Lights off. :) Especially when I'm watching horror flicks. [yellowpolkas]
No, I don't turn the lights off, unless my husband really wants to, and that's only for very special movies. I like to do needlework while I watch. I find it hard to sit still at home without something to occupy my hands unless I'm reading. [rhettaa]
Unless I'm eating a meal, I definitely do. It gives me that movie theater feel, so, I love it! [SassyKittyKat]
It depends on what tv you have. I don't usually but my son likes the lights off now since we got our big flat screen. It's one of the first flat screens so it's not one of those real thin things, but the picture is still really nice. [kbkbooks]
I don't turn the lights off either, because when its dark, the tv is really bright and it hurts my eyes, makes them blurry. [walijo2008]
This will really depend on my mood at the timme am watching this movie.sometimes i jsut want to feel lik am in the movies so i switch off the lights ,i have a large screen t.v with a sorround sound system which adds to the cinema feeling. [BYOLA2871]
Yep ! LIghts out. I don't like to see the rest of the room...just to focus on the screen ! [shakleelady]
I turn the main light off when I watch a movie, but I have to have a light on so I turn the up-lamp on or a light that is behind me (if it's in front of me I tend to get a headache). [toosh21]
No, I don't. Even if I just surf the net I keep the lights on because I feel sleepy once it's dark. I only turn it off if I will surely go to sleep. Maybe a lampshade will do, it's okay for me but totally dark? Just the light from the tv? I guess I'm going to snore after an hour of watching. hehehe..lol [MGjhaud]
For me it really depends on what kind of movie it is. If is a funny movie I will grab a bag of popcorn and turn off the lights to watch it. If it's a scary movie then I'll just leave the lights on. [mishastar]
I love watching movies in the dark, it feels like it's only me and the subjects, the heroes. [davidabraham]
I don't like turning off the lights because it can "damage" the eyes in a way if you always do it. The TV emits some kind of waves that's bad for the eyes if it's the only light source... at least that's what i know. Haven't really looked into it yet though if it's true. [owstalaga]
