What is the place of enjoying the movies for you?
Mine is home. I watch them on my Cable TV and on my computer through DVDs.
I feel its very costly watching them in multiplexes and here in my city we hardly get tickets from counters. People would like to black the tickets here on high rates.
So, my best place is to be at home and enjoy!

I can remember my childhood times when I used to enjoy the movie in only theaters. It felt so awesome but I think that went away as the time passed by. Now, even if I get an offer from someone to go and watch a movie, I don't go there as I don't feel comfortable at theaters [sanuanu]
Movie tickets in our area are getting more and more expensive these days so i just watch movies at home on my computer. I just download movies available online then watch them. It may take long but it's worth it because the quality is good and sometimes the movies available are the ones that's just been released few days ago. [modstar]

That too is very annoying. Sometime it will also happen that people in front of you or by side or behind you, would talk about what is going to happen next. I love to go to the movies! It is like a little adventure to a place of wonders. It really puts you into the movie and satisfies the desire to know what the movie is about. I usually take a companion along, and we usually talk about the film for HOURS after it. I find myself really only doing that when I go to a movie theatre, and it sells me at that point. [enognis]
Hmm, its nice to talk about the movie for hours with your friends. It give us immense satisfaction. Was the movie good, or was the actress crying in a little acward manner, this movie had some exceptional actions. These things I also enjoy talking. [sanuanu]

I'm with you - I very very rarely watch a movie in a movie theater. It's just super expensive, even though I don't like to eat while watching so I don't hit up the concession stands. I will however go to second run movie theaters (where tickets are $1-3) when I think about it, and when there's a movie that I've heard good things about. And when it's something that would be better experienced on a big screen. Otherwise I prefer to find movies, generally older ones, and watch at home. Actually my favourite thing to do, and this might sound silly, is to watch the old, comforting 'classics' on my little tiny tv, while curled up in my beat up armchair. It's what I did in college, and no big screen will ever entice me away from the intimate experience of a small, slightly fuzzy screen and a fluffy next pushed up to a few feet away. [sniksnak]
The other part of it that now a days movies are becoming that much adult that you can't watch it in a movie theater. There people will always make vulgar comments on the scenes. This is also very annyoing. [sanuanu]

lol. nothing beats when you watch it on a Movie Theater. but ticket prices gets high and high so ergo... since i've found out that i can watch some free movies on the net, i watch movies through there, though there's this strict 72 minutes limit, but patience is a virtue. ahahaha! sometimes, i buy vcds in video shop just in case i missed on theaters or if the movie i am looking for is not the net. happy new year, lotters!!! =) [totallyundecided]

I watch most of my movies at home. We have Dish Network, so we get movies that way. We also watch movies that we've downloaded off the internet, plus our DVD/VHS player. We have a lot of choices. [CRSunrise]
Yes, Dish Networks are a great help in watching movies at home. We don't have to buy a DVD for every movie. We can see them on our TV and then decide whether we need to buy the cd/dvd of that movie. [sanuanu]
The big screen entertainment is always the best in a movie theater,but u have the restriction of getting out of ur home,standing in a queue,getting the ticket in the balcony seat etc etc. So not for all the movies I go to the movie hall. I retrive the pleasure from my home theater by watching the latest DVDs. But when its the turn of my favourite star or a much awaited movie,i can do anything to get the ticket of the firstday first show in the theater. I never miss them... [uditpanda]
First day first show! I can remember when I was in higher secondary school, I used to go to the movie theater for first day first show. The prices were double or tripple for that show and the crowd used to be awesome. That time I was young and afforded that but now I can't afford to be a part of that crazy crowd. I live and work in a small city in China and now Movies are shown in the open air at public places, like,squares in the evening at weekends.People watch the movies for free. I didn't see LOTR's. Any of the three parts. For me, I am from India and I love watching hollwood movies for they have some extraordinary story and action sequences. I also like to enjoy watching movies on my computer or t.v. I have a 320GB hard disk & have as many collection of movies I want & never get bored watching them again & again. Now watching in multiplexes is also not affordable as it has increased the prices of the tickets very much for every film which has lead to crisis for film viewing in multiplexes by most of the audiences. 320GB! Man I have only 40GB harddisk and I have to delet movies when it is old and I can only afford to have only 2 movies in my hard disk. that is why I am more relying on DVDs rather than downloading or recording from TV. [sanuanu]

Hey sanuanu I go to the movies at a cinema at least 2 times a month. I also have a huge collection of dvd's. If something comes out on dvd that I really like I will rent it but that gets super expensive. I like watching movies at home. We buy pirated DVDs or borrow from friends. We can also cook popcorn or pizza so that we can munch on something while watching movies. Its a lot more cheaper, convenient and has more privacy. That is the most annoying thing in a movie theatre. There is a little story about two teengers. Both of them hired an Auto Rikshaw for going to a movie theatre. AFter reaching there, the driver asked Rs 15 but they were only ready to give Rs 10. He had a long debate with them but they were not ready to give them 5 more and started walking towards the theatre gate. The driver shouted: "The murderer in the movie is xxxxxx" It was a suspense movie in which the main motive was to find the murderer and it was not until the end, the name gets revealed. He couldn't take Rs 5 back from them but he certainly had spoiled the taste for both the girls, isn't ti? [sanuanu]

$10 per ticket, man it is high. If I can convert it into Rs, it will become Rs 500 per movie ticket. Most of the time I watch movies from TV. I will even watch movies from cellphone. Occasionally we will watch movies in the cinema. But the movie tickets are expensive, so we seldom go to the cinema. I love China [youless]

I just borrow my DVDs from my Local Public Library. You can borrow them for free for up to 2 weeks. I enjoy watching them at home. It's a lot more quieter than a movie theater. [chunijole]
