count me in! lol i love watching movies and i seem to like scaring myself during the Halloween by watching a lot of horror movies.^__^;;
i started yesterday with my marathon and i started with The Sixth Sense. yes, i haven't watched it before. it was the first time i watched it yesterday. i loved the scene where i was really surprised a short scream escaped my mouth. that's when a ghost of the little girl appeared inside Cole's little sanctuary inside his room. and then i watched American Haunting. its not that scary but there was also a scene where i was really surprised and screamed a little.^__^;;
its hard to find movies that can really scare me. most movies that i find are all blood and gore. i guess its time i turn to Asian horror movies which are all full of creepiness and weirdness. lol
any good horror movies you know? ^__^

I enjoy watching horror movies during the Halloween, secretbear. Did you like The Sixth Sense? I like The Lost Boys, From Dusk 'til Dawn, The Wolfman, An American Werewolf in London, Creature from the Black Lagoon, etc. There are too many to list! [Transdisc]
yeah, i liked the Sixth Sense! i never had any idea that Bruce Willis was also a ghost! that really surprised me in the end. ^__^;; i think i've also watched that American Werewolf in London before. i also like watching movies like that. werewolves, vampires, witches.. thanks for sharing that transdisc. happy [secretbear]
Hi secretbear, I do not nesserly see any scary movies just on halloween, I can put on one any time of the year. My favorite I watch really is "halloween" and "terror on elm street" My favorite is Steven King of course. The once made in the 80; are still the best once, they still work for me. The new once can not compete with Wes Craven yet. I also like movies with vampires. So once in a while I watch Tom Crues and Brad Pitt making around on the streets. I really like that one. Like You I also find it hard to find god movies who scare me, however I still think Wes Craven is god. [anetteh]
i also watch horror movies anytime i want it. but during the Halloween and also during the Lenten season i watch more horror movies than the usual. i just think those are the best time of the year to get scared. ^__^;; i don't know Wes Craven and Steven King but i know the Interview with the Vampire with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt on it. i also like that one. happy [secretbear]
I personally love to watch horror movies during Halloween. I think that it is the best time to watch horror movies. [dodo19]
i agree. thanks for the response dodo. happy [secretbear]
I am not really a fan of horror films, but this Halloween, my two kids (ages 23 and 26) forced me to watch a Thai film entitled "Shutters" and it was truly scary. I understand that there's an American counterpart of it, but the movie is truly scary...at least there were four of us watching the movie (never mind if my husband just simply snored through the entire movie; at least I had company while watching it. My kids really love watching horror films like "The Ring" and things like that, and I can't be swayed into watching it. But this year is an exception...I actually watched the film which they downloaded from the net. True enough, I was a bit shaken after the show. Of course we watched it in my son's room, so in spite of its creepiness, it was ok. [psyche49f]
hi psyche! i know that movie! i have watched it a long time ago. if i remember it correctly it is a Korean film right? if not, probably Thai? ^__^;; anyway, i also liked that movie. it was really creepy and scary. these Asian films would usually dwell on ghosts seeking revenge. and i like it. its weird and i like it. ^__~ i got goosebumps when they showed the ghost riding on the shoulder of the photographer. creepy. i have also watched The Ring before. one of the Asian horror films i love. they both have the Hollywood version but nothing beats the original. happy [secretbear]
Not me, as real life is scary enough. I'd rather be entertained by pleasant things that are funny and poignant and relaxing. [drannhh]
thanks for dropping by drannhh. [secretbear]
I do!! But I actually start a month early!! I would get as much horror movies as I can get on October, then everyday, as long as I can, I'll watch at least one movie. I usually watch two.. :) And yes, it scares the living hell out of me, even in the day time. Well, yes, I do agree that Asian horror movies are really scary.. And the few American horror movies that tops my list are The Exorcist (It's just classic), The exorcism of Emily Rose (That's the scariest), poltergeist (I loved it when I was a kid... Some American horror movies are adapted from the Asian horror movies, here's some of it in the list, Ju-on (Grudge), Shutter, The Ring.. If you watched the Asian movie first, don't watch the American adaptation of the movie because it is not as scary as the Asian one.. Try watching the American one first.. then get scared... then pop the Asian original one and you won't want to get out of your seat cause you'd be too scared... If you can, try watching the Thai ones and the Indonesian ones, it's also as scary as the Japanese and Korean ones.. :) Thanks for creating this discussion, have a great day! [quarvalsharess]
hi quarvalsharess! i've watched most of the films that you've mentioned. wink The Exorcist was a really good movie. a real classic. i just wish i could find an uncut version. and yeah. The Exorcism of Emily Rose is a good one too. sent chills to my bones. i wasn't able to watch poltergeist. i'd have to find that one in the internet. old films are hard to find. i'm a huge fan of Asian horror movies. and yeah i agree. the Hollywood version is not as scary as the original Asian version. i think the only Hollywood version i've watched is the The Ring. i didn't know then that there's an original Japanese version. after watching the Japanese version, i stopped watching Hollywood versions of the Asian horror films that i've watched. happy [secretbear]
hi, me to i watching the horror movie during halloween these is my favorite movie in halloween if i see the movie of horror are make you crazy because of the story the have more experiences i was in the floor there are wacthing to i dont know ho is that. that guy is real escard me heheh. [albern]
thanks for the response albern. happy [secretbear]
Heya, I love watching horror movies regardless of the time of year.^_^ Im just looking for that one movie that will really scare me and give me a sleepless night. Im not easily afraid with the movies out there too. I quite agree that blood and gore seems to be the trend in horror movies nowadays. The only horror movie that I can think of that had a good reaction from me would be See No Evil. Its not really that scary as well but it my toes curled while watching the movie. Probably from anticipating what happens next. Just to see if my guess is correct or notdoh Red Rose (from the book of Stephen King) and The Exorcism of Emily Rose are two good horror movies. Though Emily Rose would be a good spiritual movie than anything. Yeah, there are a lot of good horror stories from Asia. The theme that I get from it would be either dolls and revenge. I so recommend Shutter!^_^ But then again, you've probably already seen it.happy [bjcyrix]
Yeah, it is a blood and gore movie, and you are right about Kane.^_^ Its not really that great of a movie, its noticeable that there are only a few characters and just about one setting, just different rooms. So far, Shutter is the best for me even if I wasnt scared. I just love the storyline and how the horror factor got integrated into the story. It kinda disturbed me in the end with the twist and how everything connects. [bjcyrix]
I just love horror movies!!! I believe they are just true entertainment. And that is why I don't like regular family dramas.. Boring!!! And Halloween its is just an another opportunity for a horror movie!! But I would more prefer to get an actual encounter with something rally scary on Halloween!! Isn't its exciting? I saw 1408 recently.. It was good but not that scary... But ya quite interesting!! Loved that movie. happy [stella1989]
an actual encounter with something really scary?? blink you wouldn't want that! i have never had an actual encounter but i wouldn't dream of it. i don't know if i could take it. ^__^;; yeah, 1408 is not really that scary. but it has a lot of suspense and mystery and yeah, i liked it too. [secretbear]
I like horror movies. You are so thrilled and sit to the edge of the chair and the movie scenes make you literally jump up. It is like going in a tora-tora, holding your breath and sitting on it. [Buchi_bulla]
you got that right! lol [secretbear]
Hi Secretbear, it's not only during Halloween that I watch horror movies, it's like almost the whole year round! I've seen Sixth Sense, White Noise, Friday 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street series, but none could match the old classics like Omen, Exorcist or even Psycho (to me, anyway). The Asian horror shows are rather scary, especially those from Japan, Korea and Thailand. Well, have fun! [lazeebee]
hi lazeebee! i love watching horror movies any day of the year too. but Halloween just makes it special right? there's an added creepiness to it. wink [secretbear]
I like all the Halloween with Jamie lee Curtis movies as well as all the Friday the 13th movies. Also Nightmare on Elm Street and Cujo(a Stephen King movie.) [muscles4me]
she's a really good actress. thanks for reminding me about Stephen King. i've been meaning to watch the films based on his books. [secretbear]
I watched Saw 4, well it was actually yesterday rather than Halloween itself, but I found the film very perplexing, I have followed the Saw franchise, but I have to say Saw 1 and 2 are by far the best! I loved The Sixth Sense, fantastic film and that boy what a fantastic actor he is, I don't usually like Bruce Willis in films other than Die Hard because he is more or less typecasted into those films but he played a blinder for sure! And Toni Collette, don't you just love her! Especially in Muriel's Wedding, sorry I digress. I can watch horror movies all year round, it's my favourite genre, but for me the horror film has GOT to be realistic, not some pyscho running around who can't be killed that is not my kind of film, Halloween and Friday 13th part 1000 LOL just goes on and on and on and on! My favourite horror movies are Hostel, Saw, Final Destination 1, 2 and 3! I can't watch horror films with bugs in it though, I am strange like that, I can watch people being killed by people or unknown forces but when it comes to bugs killing people and eating them well that just grosses me out and I can't watch it, Starship Troopers and Fly are two films that I can't bear to watch. [wolfie34]
lol you can stand all those blood and gore from people killing people but not bugs? well i guess there really are differences there. i've watched Hostel and Final destination too. Hostel has got its creepiness and weirdness and ugh, the blood and the gore. Final Destination is less creepy for me. although there is the suspense, but less thrilling. [secretbear]
OMG YES YES YES!!! Halloween is one of my favorite times to watch horror movies. I'll watch all year long but the atmosphere and the festive nature of Halloween makes my blood pump faster hoping for a new horror movie to be released in theaters. If there are no new flicks, then I'll watch some from my video library. Sometimes I'm in the mood for gore like the SAW movies. Other times I love monster movies like Alien. When I want a good psychological thriller I'll watch any Hitchcock movie or something close to it. I hope your Halloween was fun and scary my myLotian friend. ‹(°¿°)› [jumpinjack00]
hi jumpinjack! well, the Sixth Sense and American Haunting did give me some chills and goosebumps. but i couldn't find anymore scarier movies later that night. i would have wanted to watch something really frightening when its near midnight. ^__~ [secretbear]
i like watching it but not often... i like old true stories of horors... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... hehehe [fajert]
lol yeah. me too. i like true-to-life horror stories. [secretbear]
i do love watching horror movies especially during halloween it adds fright when its halloweeen, yester i'd watch the movie "mirror" with my family and friends, whew, it so scary, it is a story of a girl that was been possed by a bad spirit and the girl has vanished after she's been possed, the girl enter the mirror with the bad spirit and who ever sees his face in the mirror will be killed. it's so scary i couldn't sleep last night. huhuhuh :) [fgaloma]
that's Mirror? i thought it was a movie with Keifer Sutherland on it? that he was an ex-cop turned security guard? if that's a different Mirror movie then i would love to watch it! [secretbear]
i looooooooooooove scary movies and often watch them a lot especially during halloween. It's not as fun though considering my family doesn't like them at all. [dejababi]
its good to watch movies with a few people, but i think its scarier to watch horror movies when you're alone in the dead of the night. wink [secretbear]
I really like Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween!! Horror movies have gotten rather generic these days, lol...I didn't get much of a chance to watch any Halloween night, but I watched quite a few in the days counting up to it!! Glad you enjoyed!! [livvy252003]
hi livvy! i agree, there's nothing new on the horror genre. i hope they'll come up with something that's really scary. [secretbear]
I love watching scary movies especially with my girlfriend. Whenever she gets scared she snuggles beside me! If you want to watch good horror movies check out the afterdark horror fest movie collection. Its the ultimate collection! [Anotherworld]
where can i find that? [secretbear]
I like watching horror movies during Halloween. I like watching movies related to whatever holiday it is around that time. Horror movies really dont scare me though. The only horror movies that really scare me are the Halloween movies. I am not sure why. Everyone makes fun of me about Micheal Myers but he is just spooky. [my2boys]
well all of us have different fetishes. i'm sure there's something with Michael Myers that really spooks you. happy [secretbear]
Yes, I love to watch horror movies! I love the fact of being scared silly!happyhappyhappy [cream97]
lol yes, being scared because of a movie is kinda silly. [secretbear]
wow... didn't know you are so brave.. I'm never a fan of horror movie and never will be. lol I love Sixth Sense though. It's not exactly scary.. I love the twist at the end. It really caught me by surprise. If you really like horror, yup.. you should turn to Thai/Japanese horror movies. Those are the most horrifying!! It's not just the blood and gore.. it's the creepiness.. [poohgal]
i liked the twist in the ending of Sixth Sense too! i never had any idea that Bruce Willis would be a ghost! that was really a splendid twist! yeah, Asian horror movies has a lot of creepiness. and i just love it! wub [secretbear]
Hi, I don't really have a specific season or day to watch horror movies. On Halloween I mainly watch the horror movies that are been screened on TV.And that was SAW 1,this time. And about horror movies, the SAW series are freaky.Grudge is also good,it freaked me out also and I don't usually get freaked out that easily. The Ring is one of my favourites.I've heard The Omen is also good, though I haven't watched it yet.Check them out.You might like them. [lildevilz]
hi lildevilz! i've watched the Grudge and the Ring. the original Japanese versions. and yeah. they were both good. i specifically like The Ring because it was really spooky! Sadako was really scary!!! and i've watched the Omen before. it was scary too but not that much. that kid was creepy! [secretbear]
When I was younger I loved horror movies but now that I am 51 years old I don't like them anymore. I haven't watched one for about 10 years now. My daughter, who shares a suite with me, watched one on halloween night and I was on the computer. probably here in mylot, and so I listened to it as my computer is in the same room as our main TV. Here is a picture of my office area before we moved in but it shows where I have my computer desk and our TV is just on the right of the picture, in the same room, and our couch is on the left hand side, where my daughter sat to watch the movie. So I couldn't help but hear it. It was scarry just listening to it, never mind watching it. I had my back to the TV. Alrighty then, talk to you later, your friend Chris. [chrislotz]
I don't remeber or know for that matter. All I remember is it had a lot of horror and gore. It is the gore part I realy hate. I can't look or stomach it. Alrighty then, talk to you later, your friend Chris. [chrislotz]
It depends on the movie. I can watch stuff like The Sixth Sense but not Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I tried to watch the new movie The Strangers with my husband the other day but I ended up leaving the room. All the pounding and screaming gets to me. I don't really enjoy horror movies any time of year. [moneyandgc]
i see. hmm.. makes me want to watch that movie The Strangers. ^__~ that's the movie with Liv Tyler on it right? [secretbear]
I am in that boat too. I like watching some of the Fearfest stuff they run on cable too. I even own a good collection of scary movies for the rest of the year. One of my favorites is American Werewolf in London. I think it has it all. [ersmommy1]
i think i have watched that American Werewolf before. its an old movie right? [secretbear]
The Sixth Sense is one of my all time favorite movies....I can watch it over and over again....I don't really watch alot of movies so I am not in the category of watching just horror films even around Halloween. [jillhill]
i'm happy to know that you like Sixth Sense too Jill. happy [secretbear]
I love to watch horror movies during Halloween. It creeps the hell out of some people but I love it. Especially during the night! And right before going to bed! One movie you cculd watch is ONE MISSED CALL. Happy Halloween!!!! [kokacola10]
hi kokacola! i have watched One Missed Call before! the Japanese version though. i'm not sure if you're talking about a Hollywood version but i've watched the Japanese version. and it was really creepy. the lead actress there was very good. she's a very good actress. [secretbear]
I don't watch scary movies during Halloween as I'm too scared enough by my cousins scary stories.I'm not a fan horror movies at all though I have watched The Sixth Sense before and find it great movie. It was not really that scary but it can make you scream which I didhappy. [katkat]
lol its not really scary but it made me scream too during a certain scene where a little ghost girl appeared in front of Cole. ^__^ [secretbear]
many times I watched horror movies very late in the night. I also am not afraid to watch horror movies at the Halloween or any time of the year or day. I was very afraid when I was a young now I came over the fear and am ready to watch horror movies any time [brucekaushik]
me too. i'm a scaredy cat when i was little. but i overcame it as i grow old. i don't see horror movies now as plain scary. i still see them as scary but i now find them as 100% pure entertainment. wink [secretbear]
Me too.. I love watching horror movies especially during November 1.. Before when I'm still living in our hometown, we usually spend the whole day in the cemetery to spend some hours to our relatives who died.. Then in the night, me and family usually watched horror movies until midnight.. I make sure that I have a pillow holding so that if I feel very scared already I will just hide in my pillow.. lol Well, this is my first time spending November 1 without my whole family.. I didn't able to visit the grave of my relatives since I'm staying far from our hometown.. So, me, my older sister and my niece spend the whole day at home watching scary movies.. We have our movie marathon for the entire weekend at home.. We watched "hide and seek", "all episodes of resident evil and underworld", "the ring", "the grudge", etc.. lol Actually, we didn't watched scary movies for the whole weekend.. We also watched comedies and action movies since my niece are not that brave to watched scary movies and besides it isn't good for kids to watched horror movies.. It might affect their dreams.. happy [kissie34]
I watch them all year round hehe ! But this halloween i wanted to spook myself out so watched many the nite before and on . I watched many true ghost stories and many tv made movies as well . On halloween i watched the happening and i guess that is not a horror but kinda cool anyway . Anything that gets ya thinking or the heart pounding ! [metschica25]
yes i love watching horror movies, it was what we did last nov.1 me and my family watched horror movies hehehe! [jazel_juan]
I enjoy horror movies. Especially the ones that are based on true events. Shortly before Halloween, I watched The Strangers. This movie really scared me. My husband laughed so hard at me because I wouldn't let go of him during the movie, and after the movie, I would not move off of the couch until he got up and turned the lights back on. For those of you who have not watched it and like a good scare, I really recommend it. [lynnemg]
I really don't whim on watching horror films during halloween but, I really prefer those shows back then, especially those of Magandang Gabi Bayan during those times wherein they'd have that episode with documented events of hauntings and aparitions appear with witness accounts.. mostly happening on provinces here in our country (^_^ ) The re-enactments are not that polished but the effects are good enough to give one goosebumps. On horror films, too much blood and gore really isn't that scary anymore for me.. I like it more if its based on true accounts like that of 'Emily Rose'.. Asian Horror films, yeah, they're more scary. [ratyz5]
I am not a big fan of watching scary movies at Halloween but with this being said, I have done it before. It's just been a few years since I have, but it is fun to turn off all the lights and sit down to a marathan of Scare... even though, if you've watched a lot of them you've seen most of the plot of a "horror" movie. I like the Halloween Series though, it's a very scary series, well atleast for me. [SomeCowgirl]
You are quite brave... i do not like watching horror films at any time of the month... that is why i sometimes hate it when November is near... because it seems like only horror films are being shown on cable... and most shows are all about ghosts and spirits... that is why during this season... i just watch my old nice and feel good movies... [aseretdd]
I definetly love to watch horror movies all of october to get me into the Halloween spirit. There are tons of asian horror films that are creepy. These are my favorite asian horror films: 1- Old Boy 2- Reincarnation 3- The Audition These have a macabre feel to them and turn the normal day to day life into a complete mind game. I think that this you will be very entertaining for you. [candie486]
I so love horror and suspense movies but I wasn't able to watch them for months now. I have a number of collections at home and I even have the latest horror movies but still I haven't watch them yet even this halloween. The reason? My kids are just plain scared of them. When I start watching them they would all start crying because it just scares them. Even if they wont watch it the sounds is just too much for them. The only chance that I could watch them is when they are already asleep at night. But I'm already tired and wanting to just sleep by then. [cdparazo]
I love scary movies and what night better to watch them then Halloween... Im more of and 1980's kind of person when it comes to watching a scary movie.. I love all the Halloweens, (except for Witching hour) Friday the 13ths, Nightmare On Elmstreet's, and many more... I cant wait till Feb 13th the new movie Friday the 13th comes out.... [ginnypetree]
I dun choose any particular date or festival for watching horror movies.. hehe ^_^ But i do like to watch them at night, alone, in the dark.. lol =D That makes it even more fun.. ANd even when i'm watching with a group of frenz, we will too switch off the lights, and dusturb each other, occasionally.. lol =D I have not watched sixth sense b4, even though i know it's nice.. hehe ^_^ But i do know of 2 movies to watch during halloween.. oNE of them is GHOST, while the other is CASPER.. lol =D [kun2349]
Got no more time seeing movies even scary ones. Ig have time just watch DVD at home of new movies. I dont like horror movies. Happy viewing. [bagumbayan]
I usually do have a jonesin to watch horror movies on Halloween. This year I didn't, I cozied up with my hubby instead lol. The new Saw movie is coming out pretty soon I think if it's not out already. I like psychological thrillers, they don't necessarily have to have blood and gore, just creepiness, mystery, and things that are unexplainable. Sixth Sense was great, 13 Ghosts is good, Carrie (the original), Se7en, Saw, Poltergeist, the original Nightmare on Elm Street, The Others, What Lies Beneath, The Hills Have Eyes, etc. [mommyboo]
Hiya bear, i too love watching horror movies, halloween or not. I too watched sixth sense a few day ago, second time in fact. I enjoyed this movie very much. Nothing scary, just heart wrenching to see little Cole so alone and scared. I too think Asian movies are better. I love watching these movies and do so with a pillow tucked in my stomach at times. My family thinks Im crazy, but i ENJOY THEM. [ketybhagat]
Hey Secretbear, I dont watch horror movies because I get nightmares immediately after that. A cousin of mine 9 years was watching a horror movies and something scared him, he was found on the couch dead. This incident raised an alarm and all parents banned horror movies in almost all homes. Now that am fully grown i want to try watching. let me see what others say so i can grab a copy and watch. heheheheheeeeee! Enjoy your watching. [kwenge]
count me in! I love to scare myself hehehehe as well as my cousins and friends hehehe... Have you seen the movie "Shutter" and "The Possessed"? [hornetlover]
i love watching xman.the horror movies is my favourite movies, too.but the halloween makes it famous for his big movies.we should have our own feelings after watching movies.the dirctor produces movies to make the audiences know the heart of him.so you can find the meaning of a movie. [wujinbo]
I don't like watching horror movies during Halloween because it scares me a lot. I'm so imaginative and I hate it when I imagine that everything that happened in the movie will also happen to me. Like when there was one time when my cousins and I watched THE RING. There was a part there that a long haired lady came out in the TV Screen, and I can't help but imagine that the girl will also come out in my TV set and will also kill me like what she did in movies. ^^, [zhaychel]
Hello my friend secretbear Ji, I like to watch. In case of you are more interested choose from : http://www.amazon.com/gp/richpub/listmania/byauthor/A19S2DJOHTU86W Have a nice time. [chintoo07]
Yes i love watching horror movies, not only< during Halloween. I like it the whole year. :) Lol! I like the old italian zombie movies, like "Zombie Flesheaters - Woodoo" or the Romero zombies. Or the movies of Lucio Fulci and Dario Argento, very good stuff! New York Ripper is a very good 80s horror movie. Or The beyond from Fulci. Or take "Phenomena" from Argento, thats really a great movie, with the young Jennifer Conelly! Great flick. There are too many good hooror-movies, i can`t tell them all. Have a nice day! [damato]
