There are many great male actors still around today, but my top three favorites are Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, and Sean Connery. They play many different characters equally well. I admire them for that ability, that versatility.

Good question, for me I would pick Johnny Depp, Leonardo Dicaprio and Tom Hanks, all of them because I love there unusual choices, they pick movie choices for themselves and not always for what the public wants, I like that thinking and I love there various roles. [Imtheultimateblogger]

Although he is by no means the best actor in the world I do like Robert Downey Jr. His comic ability is brilliant but he can play it straight as well and some of my favourite films featuring him see him showing some great acting ability. Probably my favourite film of his has to be "Chaplin" but then I also like "Iron Man", "Zodiac" and "Only You" which all show different sides to him. [thedailyclick]

Ahhhh! To choose three?! I choose mine based on the one thing I loved them in. So my list is completely biased on one thing. James Spader (Boston Legal/Stargate) David Hewlett (Stargate: Atlantis) David Duchovny (X-Files) Sadly I love them... but only in one or two things. The only actor I really like that I canthink of at the mommentis Rob Pattinson. xD He may not be the most talented guy, but I just have the hugest crush on him. Hugh Jackman because he is just so darn cute and he is a well rounded actor. He sings, dances, does comedy, he can do live performances as well as movies. He is what I call an old fashion actor. Ewan McGregor, because he plays such interesting roles. Johnny Depp is always excellent in whatever he is end. Even if the movie is bad, his performance is good. [Aurone]

I like Tom Hanks a lot. His films touch me like anything. I have watched 'Forrest Gump' for numerable times and yet to get enough of him. I also like oldies like Jack Nicholson, Sean Connery, Michael Doglas. I like Jude Law in 'Holiday'. [mimpi1911]

I like Johnny Depp,Sean Penn, and Gerard Butler,,,,I love Johnny Depp because of so many characters, Edward in "Edward Scissorhands" is a one of the most original characters ever and he plays the naiveness of Edward in that film so perfectly, and in "I Am Sam" Sean Penn should have won the oscar because that was one of the best perfomances I have ever seen, and Gerard Butler playing the Phantom in "The Phantom Of the Opera" was what got me so hooked on the movie, he was sexy, mysterious, scary, and oh so romantic all wrapped up in one package *swoon*, those three are my leading acting men [spicysweetie21]

However, I am still a fan for the famous and eccentric Robin Williams. I think a lot of you will remember Robin Williams's movies like "Good Morning Vietnam", "Mrs Doubtfire", "Dead Poet's Society", "Patch Adams", "Bicentennial Man", "Jumanji", "Flubber" and many more. I am sure from the movies, you will realize that he is more than a joke teller, the Juilliard-trained actor never fails to raise viewers' expectations with his trademark clever and original observations to comic genius with his use of accents and masterful performing skills. His sharp intellect and a rapier wit that comes to him as easily as breathing, it's no wonder he has remained one of the most revered comedians. Also known for his his improvisational skills and impersonations, I am sure like me you would all have enjoyed animated movies like "Aladdin", "Happy Feet" and "Everyone's Hero". In case you have not been to his road show tours in the US, then I would encourage you to find the time to go for one of his performances. Having the privilege to attend one of them when I was in the States for work plus holiday trip 2 years back, it was the most unforgettably hilarious one. Watching him live is equally enjoyable to the big screen for me. This year, his movies like "Shrink", "World's Greatest Dad" and "Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" have been released and watched, I am still eagerly waiting for his latest "Old Dogs" to be released. Those are 3 really great choices. Tom Hanks would be one of my choices because he has been in so many movies playing a great variety of roles and all the awards he has won. Not only because he is so successful but because throughout the years he has made me laugh, cry and think about things that i might not have thought of before. Another favorite is Sean Penn and that is for how passionate he gets into a role. Unlike Tom Hanks where I have seen nearly all his movies, I have only seen a handfull or Sean Penn movies. I would have to say if I would have to choose a favorite it would have to be Robin Williams. He has so many sides to him and can do just about any characyer thrown at him. Sometimes it is hard thought to accept him in a serious role when there have been so many comedies that he has done. I think my most favorite movie that he did was "Mrs Doubtfire". that had to really push him to the limit of trying to stay in character. My favorite male actors are: Alan Rickman--I wish he weren't so typecast as being someone who only plays evil or evil-but-not-evil (see Severus Snape) characters. He's got such talent...I only know of one or two movies where his character isn't killed off. :( That should change. Ralph Fiennes--If it had been anyone else playing Voldemort in the "Harry Potter" series, then I would truly hate Voldemort. But it's Ralph Fiennes! I can't help but rooting for the bad guy whenever he portrays them. lol Jason Isaacs--Whenever I watch "The Patriot," I have a hard time deciding whether to root for England or for America because he is awesome in this movie. My favourite actors are Leonardo Di Caprio for his fantastic versatile roles, he has given the film industry so much, and has played so many different roles from autistic role in Who's Eating Gilbert Grape, to Jack Dawson in Titanic and Richard in The Beach he is extremely handsome too and a fantastic actor, he is my all time favourite idol to worship and my hero! I also like Roger Moore, mainly for being 007 in the James Bond films. John Cleese a British actor who has starred in comedies as well as a few films. [wolfie34]
