I have some friends who will refuse to watch the sad movies. As they are afraid of crying when they watch this kind of movies. As to me, I like to watch any kinds of movies, and it's alright for me to watch sad movies. And I think if a movie can make you drop tears, it must be a good one.

Depends. Sometimes I will see a movie that really makes me sob it's so sad. If it's that sad then I wont watch it again. Of course I have seen movies that I didn't know were going to be sad & so by the end of watching it I am already reaching for the tissues...LOL. [RobsWife10706]

I LOVE sad movie!! Nowadays, life have become so fast-paced and full of problems that there is practically no time to even talk about emotion. Therefore sad movies allow me to slow down and feel those emotions than I don't get to feel in daily life. =) Just a recommendation. If you like Japan love story, do try watching this movie titled [Koizora] or in some cases [Koisora]. It is a movie that came out last year(I think...) about the love story of two teenager. I try to avoid to watch to sad movies. I will be sad for long time after i watch a movies like this. Maybe i am to sensitive, maybe i am not in good mood, but i ll avoid to watch this kind of movies. Of course not all the time i know how much sad will be a movie, and after i start to watch i see that is sad. than i will watch, even i will cry. [icesmile]

Hi, youless. happy There are some sad movies that I have not been able to watch anymore since becoming a mom. I can't seem to make it all the way through one about losing a child, child abuse or anything that seems unfathomable to me to imagine happening to my child. It's not just that I don't want to cry, but I sometimes become physically ill from them. I actually don't mind crying. A good cry is good for the soul if you ask me. [makingpots]

I love watching movies and that means any kind of movie will do, except horror films. I love watching sad movies. It is a bit weird but I love crying whenever I am watching a movie. It just goes on to show that that movie was so good that it was able to make me cry. There are times when I just want to see an emotionally-charged movie which can sometimes be a tragedy. It is very very rare for a film to make me cry or make me feel sad, I am not keen on weepy films to be honest, I prefer horror, fantasy and scifi as my favourite movie genres, there are only two films that guarantee me being sad and reaching for the tissues they are Titanic and Star Wars Episode 3 (when Anakin turns to the dark side and turns into the most evil man in the galaxy!) I haven't found any other films that make me sad. [wolfie34]

I can watch even sad movies but there should be a good and touching story behind those emotions. It is really a different experience to watch such movies. I like sad movies but I do not often watch them because I get affected easily. I tend to remember sad movies because they made me cry. I do not often watch however. I can only remember If Only, A Walk To Remember and The Notebook. Also the inspirational movies like the Pursuit of Happiness and Pay It Forward. I hate it when some people die like in The Ghost but that is a very good one. Anyway if movies are sad and they made you cry then they are worth remembering. [Yori88]

I don't really mind watching sad movies on a normal day. But if I am feeling kinda low, I try to avoid watching them as much as possible because they will only make me feel worse. There are times when I am feeling ok, I watch sad movies and it doesn't really bother me if I cry because I know that I am crying only because I was touched by the story in the movie and not because I personally am sad. If I hear that that certain movie can make people cry, well I try to avoid watching it, makes me feel gay. But when I started a movie without knowing it makes us cry, I continue to watch it. I agree with you. If that movie made you cry then probably it's an intense and touching story. I don't avoid watching sad movies, I've watch the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, it's a sad movie but then I end up liking it. The Notebook is considered a sad movie for me too, because obviously I cried a bucket of tears from it. I think that if critically calling a movie good, it should have something touching and powerful to it and I guess that's what most sad movies have. I won't say I like these kinds of movies but as a moviegoer, there's probably nothing wrong in tearing up for a movie. Hi youless, if I could I surely would try not to watch any tragedy movies. I don't mind to shed tears when seeing the mournful scenes when watching the movie. I just couldn't tolerate the sorrowful scenes and events that I have seen still emerging in my mind and make me to feel sad and depressed even the movie is over for quite some time. Due to this I would like to choose comedy movies that always have happy endings. I prefer to search for pleasure when watching movies, so comedy movie is always my first preference.
